Arrived next day and working within an hour after topping up the 18650 battery. I only need a 30m range with the receiver in the house, works fine. Also I use this for pest control, turning the volume down having just the red led flash, gives me a chance of dealing with the pest undetected. Customer service answered my questions within a few hours and are easy to deal with. Recommend product in my book, would buy again. As for battery life, too early to tell, but it looks like a decent 18650.

We have a rather long driveway to our house and we spend most of our time in the lounge, which is the room farthest from the driveway. Therefore, we were often not hearing when people would arrive.. which is quite the issue if you’re expecting deliveries and there’s no-where for them to leave them. In addition to our long drive we also live in a cottage built in the 1890’s…which means we have 2-3ft thick stone walls… it’s charming, but pretty much kills most signals from outside coming in. I tried several driveway alarms and wasn’t very impressed… they either didn’t detect very well or if they did, couldn’t transmit for a very far distance and through our thick stone walls.

HOWEVER… this alarm has been brilliant! I have two set up…. one at the far end of the driveway and one a bit closer in with two different alarm sounds… that way, if it’s just a bird or a deer, I’ll only hear alarm 1 or alarm 2… usually never both. If both go off, then I know it’s a car. Furthermore, I have receivers set up in the house and the garage… so we are alerted no matter which location we are at. It offers 4 different distances for detection so it will pick up just what it needs and nothing further, which is great as there is traffic simply driving by at times. I also love that these detectors are re-chargeable although I haven’t had to recharge them since installation, which was done last year, fall of 2020. The receivers run on batteries but do allow for a USB plugin which is convenient… it save my batteries by staying plugged into mains but allows me to unplug and pop it in my pocket if I’m going to be out in the yard or somewhere on the property that wouldn’t allow me to hear someone driving up. I’ve also tested them out as far as sensitivity and they have a great range of detection…it would be very difficult for someone to try and sneak by these guys without being caught!

On top of a great product, HOSMART customer service has been awesome! I wanted to order an additional receiver that was on backorder. It was a several month delay before they were available again (due to COVID), but once they were, I placed an order for 2 more receivers. However, something went wrong and the receivers I bought were not available as expected. Since their site incorrectly allowed me to purchase the 2 receivers when they were not in stock, they apologized and sent me 2 full systems (detectors and receivers) instead! They have great communication and are very quick to respond to issues. I’m looking forward to trying more of their products and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from them again!

Only had this for a few days, so can’t yet tell about longevity or battery life – but the sensors are discreet, have good range and appear robust and well-sealed. You can assign each sensor to one of 4 channels by means of internal switches, and each channel has a different tune associated with it that is played by receivers when the sensor is triggered. You can also adjust the sensitivity of each sensor, which should help avoid false alarms. The batteries in the sensors can be recharged without opening the units – which is fortunate, as opening the units will be difficult!

I hope the sensors don’t need recharging too often, and that I can obtain replacement batteries when the supplied ones wear out! It would be nice to have a wider selection of tunes.

Do not hesitate to purchase this product. This is a most excellent driveway alarm, which is built to a very high specification and which works extremely effortlessly and reliably over long distances.

In my experience, Hosmart also features a world class customer service team, so you have no worries…..even if Amazon Logistics lets them down, the Hosmart team will save the day!!!

Simply, the best customer experience ever.

Despite living in a good neighbourhood, thieves jump fences and walls where I live. In addition to having security cameras installed throughout the property, I also have these motion detectors placed throughout the property as well. During the day I have the receiver turned off and I cover the sensors with tinfoil to protect them from the sun. During the evening, I turn on the receiver and remove the protective foil.

Brilliant, I have two on my drive, one near the entrance which is perhaps set on too sensitive as birds set it off, another by the house which if they both go off I know I have a visitor. It’s maybe a bit difficult in a rural area where pheasants and other birds are to not have some false alerts but it’s reach is fantastic.

Delighted with Hosmart device. Very effective in alerting movement of any kind – it is very sensitive. Use it solely at night – during day I have it covered for two reasons – for us we only need any alert at night and to reduce battery wear in the receiver.

It is a very good product but with a few mods it could be a superb product:
Add an indicator to show if it is working on mains power or battery
Allow a choice of chime on all channels
Increase the number of chime options

Have put these in my stable yard which is across the road from my house as we’ve had intruders. – it had picked upped motion really well, although happily no one that shouldn’t be there and has proved to be quite useful. Battery life appears to be lasting well.

I live up a farm track so have set this up at the gateway to let me know when someone arrives. The motion detector is about 25′ from the receiver (which I’ve plugged in but could be run on batteries and is positioned on a windowsill facing the detector) and so far everything seems to be working well and I’ve had far fewer false alarms than a cheaper model I’ve previously tried.

It was a bit if a faff to set up as the design is really silly. The distance/sensitivity setting switches are inside the main body of the detector and if you decide you want to alter then once you have mounted it on a wall, you have to unscrew 4 screws on the mounting plate plus 4 fiddly screws on the detector housing to get at them. In a tricky set up like mine on an angle, with a slope, with pets and farm animals to avoid and test with, it took multiple tries to get the settings and position right and unscrewing it each time was frustrating and it worried me that eventually the plastic screw holes would break. Another really stupid design feature is the fact that to charge the detector I’ll have to take it down again to plug it in inside somewhere or drag out the extension cord to it. Again, a better design would have an easily removable rechargeable battery so the detector could be left in position. Can’t comment on the battery life for now but hope it lasts a good long time for this reason.

Saying all that, I did eventually get it up and now the frustration of installation is somewhat forgotten, it is working well so on balance it was worth the extra money. The cheaper model (that was about 15) constantly went off when branches moved in the wind, the sun heated up things in front of it or animals passed it but this one has better sensitivity and distance options so has only had one false alarm so far and accurately warns me when a vehicle or person arrives. The brown housing is unobtrusive and blends well on a fence post and the alarm although a bit tinny is loud enough to hear in the next room but is not too annoying.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have had the best nights sleep in a week, as one week ago someone tried to break into our garage. This sensor has put me more at ease, I don’t keep getting out of bed to check on any noise I hear outside. It was so easy to install. We just had to cut down a few branches as they kept setting the sensor off as it was very windy, but now it is perfect. Couldn’t be more happier with this product. It also arrived before the due date.
Excellent service, and I would highly recommend this.

I have bought many drive way alarms these last about 6 months before they stop working. The constant need to change batteries and the resetting of the base set used to drive me mad!!!!
This alarm is OUTSTANDING-works every time easy to set up no fiddling around with batteries -the one supplied is still working after 5 months.
The only slight fault is that the pleasant alarm cold be a tad louder but that’s me being “picky”
Thank you Hosmart you have saved my sanity and made my property much more secure.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought the version with two sensors. I put one on the back of the house and another on the back of the front garden brick wall. So far, I’m delighted.

The one at the front covers the whole driveway and front garden. One step into the drive from a human and it goes off. I park a van on the drive full of tools and live in fear of it being attack at night. I have the receiver plugged into a timer close to the front door. This keeps it on during the night only. The chimes are more than loud enough to wake me up, upstairs in the bedroom.

It has been installed for several days and the only false alarm was caused by the yellow strobe of a street sweeper as it reflected back off the front windows. I can live with that. It certainly doesn’t go off with dogs and cats.

Downsides? Charging the sensors is not straightforward insofar as removing the unit from the wall means unscrewing it. You’ll need an extension lead with a usb charger or a power bank. I had them on charge in the house for two days and the blue light never stopped flashing, (as it says in the manual that it should when fully charged), so I don’t know how long the charge will last.

I’m guessing that if any of my neighbours buy this kit, it’ll be fit for the bin, so fingers crossed they don’t. It’s a risk I’m willing to take for such enormous peace of mind. CCTV is great but it doesn’t wake you up before your home is invaded or your van ransacked.

Other downside is the red light when the sensor detects somebody. A burglar would notice this if it caught him, and could return and rip it off the wall. It isn’t necessary and I’m sure uses a bit of power.

My next security upgrade is a serious floodlight that I can manually switch if the Hosmart wakes me, having caught a miscreant in the act. I’d rather drown him in light and encourage him to leg it than charge outside with the rolling pin.

As I keep the receiver on my bedside locker for night time use only I found the alert too loud even when turned down to its lowest level. Perhaps in future the manufacturers would consider a single beep with more control to be able to turn it down very low.

This product is brilliant. Our shed was burgled whilst we sat watching TV, it was all caught on CCTV but we’re not aware until I checked CCTV hours later and noticed shed door open. This motion detector goes off if anyone is in the bottom of our garden and we can check CCTV straight away. The sensor is good, we have lots of cats and foxes pass through our garden and it doesn’t go off when they’re about. It does sometimes go off when the neighbours garden lights are on and the tree casts a shadow on the shed which moves when it’s windy, but that doesn’t happen very often it’s a great product especially if you use it alongside CCTV.

The receiving range on these detectors are incredible! Everything is a breeze to set up and the Motion detector base is transportable which for me is perfect for me. The only slightest downside is the volume of the receiving base, it could have been a bit louder on the max setting. Other than that I would highly, highly recommend!

The 1/2 mile transmission is really ambitious , more like 100 yards, unit is unreliable as a security device , sometimes I can get my bike out of the garage and it doesn’t alarm , even tho the light flashes on the pir, the base remains silent, sometimes it does alarm, unfortunately in my opinion the unit it too intermittent to be used as a security device , certainly doesn’t give me peace of mind knowing someone could get into my garage and it not alarm

I purchased the 4 unit system and I am extremely pleased with everything. The battery life is incredible as I have only charged them once so far and the range is very good. They have worked every time which others I have purchased before have not ! I had a slight issue with one unit which had a slight bit of moisture in it but that was due to an error on my part. I contacted Hosmart and the customer care team resolved the issue with no fuss at all so I just can’t fault the product or the company. If you are looking for a motion alarm system to protect your property or land then this is the only one worth buying as its so simple and reliable to use. 5 stars for product and service. Well done Hosmart.

I ordered the Hosmart 1/2 mile driveway alarm to cover our property – absolutely brilliant!

Our house is at the end of a cul de sac with no footpaths around, so NO one needs to be here at night but us. If someone else is here at night, I want to know immediately, but I don’t want THEM to know I’ve clocked them. The sensors cover all angles in or out to our house, car or on foot. I painted one sensor flat black with bumper paint (masking off the sensor window of course!) and mounted it at the far end of the cul de sac where it funnels down so I can pick up anyone well before they reach the house.

I’ve only had these up a week and already clocked a yobbo with his hood up running full speed past us at midnight. He hopped over a nearby wall and hid for a few minutes before he scanned around and calmly walked away, looking at his phone. He had no idea I was aware of his presence. I can tell how fast someone is moving by the time interval between two of the sensors. Anyone faster than the postie is running.

I’ve had zero false alarms thus far.

Packaging and set up is very straightforward. The instructions are clearly written and simple. Amazing…

TIME-SAVING TIP: Sensitivity and channel settings are on internal micro-switches, so set these first, then do a mock install to test for false alarms/sensitivity/position/channel tone etc before you do all the screws up tight and mount it for good. Otherwise, you will need to undo (per sensor) 4x wall bracket mount screws, 1x swivel screw, 4x small rubber casing plugs, then finally 4x casing screws to open up to adjust.

Note: Plug in the small white two-pin connector inside the sensor unit for the 18650 battery before charging. They come unplugged for shipping and warehouse storage, otherwise they would stay on as there is no off switch for the sensors. Once it’s plugged in, it’s activated.

Any sensors set to either Channels 1 or 2 WILL GENTLY BLINK RED at the unit outside when tripped. Sensors set to Channels 3 & 4 STAY DARK when tripped like nothing happened. The receiver inside will alert you to all of them however!

That means if you don’t want anyone to know they’ve been clocked, set those sensors to either channel 3 or 4 and the sensor will not give it’s location away at night by blinking.

If you want to let people know there’s a certain level of active security present, then 1 & 2 will be noticeable if someone is looking in the direction of the sensor, but it’s a slow flash and not particularly bright.

PS you can set all or just certain groups of sensors to the same channel if you want, but the alarm tone will be the same for those on the same channel. No big deal if they are in the same area, you’ll know which general area to look.

    A few observations:

    – ABS plastic build quality is good, but someone could knock one off these off the wall or disable it with one decent swipe unless protected in some kind of anti-vandal housing. They would still set it off though.

    – The clips for the plastic rain hoods are a bit fiddly and might come loose in a proper gale but so far, so good up to 50mph gusts and driving rain. A little silicone etc would perhaps fix them better if you are in a really windy area, but I wouldn’t glue them on because they may need to come off to adjust settings, etc.

    – The receiver can run off 4 AA batteries (I just use rechargeables) or off mains via a USB charger.

    – The lowest alert volume on the receiver is NOT very quiet. It WILL startle you if asleep near the unit. I put two small squares of duct tape over the speak grille and it makes it a lot nicer at night.

If you turn the receiver off and back on again, it DOES NOT remember your old volume setting and will default to full volume when it wakes up or is triggered again. Trust me, you will soon learn this.

Some people complain about the alarm tones. They’re fine with me. You probably won’t be hearing them very often unless you’ve set yours up someplace with a lot of foot traffic and you won’t mistake them for anything else.

Anyway, these are great motion detectors, they offer real peace of mind if anyone is around your place day or night.

I would have preferred a choice of alarm sounds and a little louder., but that`s. nit picking. Over the years I have had quite a few gate alarms. My drive is a third of a mile so have had wired systems. Was dubious about the claims made for tis one but it dies exactly what it claims on the box.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this PIR and radio base station. Although the PIR doesn’t look very impressive it seems well made. I have wired the base station to an ESP32 device that communicates movement alerts to my mobile phone. I can turn off the alerts or turn them on to prevent them getting annoying, which is essential if you don’t want to be alerted to every movement in the area they are placed. I have turned the sound down on the base station so that I am alerted only via the mobile. It works very well. It is much more reliable than using a camera to try and detect movement, cameras tend to detect shadows and any lighting change as well as real human movement. Adding the mobile capability only costs a few pounds. So all in all it has been very cost effective to do it this way. Using wireless PIRs has the advantage that I can add new ones easily and re-site them.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersEasy to install, range as specified, discreet. Good quality materials, especially the base station/receiver. Works well. I installed it as an intruder detection device for overnight detection after a recent local break-in. The PIR is on the driveway positioned to detect anyone approaching the front of my property and is coloured brown like the creosote fence so is undetectable at night and emits no light/LEDs or alike. The base unit is plugged in under my bedside cabinet.
I live in a cul-de-sac off a cul-de-sac off a cul-de-sac. The next time anyone prowls on my property in the dead of night I’ll know about it immediately, police can be called, and the culprits will be blissfully unaware until the Bill arrive. Or I may take action myself…
After installation I noticed that it was randomly giving out a ding-ding-dang sound during the day (not the alarm sound) so I posted a query here as to why that was. The vendor promptly contacted me to advise that my neighbour had the same device installed and my receiver was detecting his PIR being activated. Sure enough, they did. The vendor sent me a replacement unit FOC that stopped that. The customer service by the vendor is outstanding.

Purchased two sensors and one base station. Easy to set up, working in a few minutes. Placed sensors either end of property where it’s possible that intruders could gain access at night. Set the sensors on low motion. So far no false alarms and the area is frequented by cats and foxes.. just picks up human beings as they approach sensors.
Only criticism is that you have to take the sensor completely apart to alter the motion or alarm sound settings.

I purchased this kit with 3 additional receivers for my business so that employees know when a potential customer drives through the main gate. This proves very cost effective as we are a small company and employees can miss customers arriving if they are working else where in the yard.

I set up the motion sensor on a fence post looking across the gate with the motion range set to low to avoid false activation. Does exactly what we wanted and the range is good with the furthest receiver being 50 metres away with no clear line of site and a brick built building in the way it still triggers every time.

To improve our setup it would be good to have an audio output on one of the receivers so we could connect to an amp and more powerful/ outdoor speakers.

    Hope this helps

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have smart CCTV cameras throughout my home that send alerts to my phone however when I go to bed I put my phone on silent most nights as obviously you can not stop people texting or receiving emails etc at random times.
So I bought the hosmart driveway sensor to work along side my cameras as I have set these up where I need to be notified on a night. I have put one indoors in my unit / home gym at the top of the garden and will be buying more in the future. If this sounds I will of course get out of bed and investigate with a baseball bat to destroy the thieving rats it has alerted me to 😉 I have tested it and it works perfect never misses any movement and the the receiver is at the side of my bed. I plan on painting the unit white with plastic paint to match the decor ..
You can turn the red light off on the sensor for more stealth by setting the sensor to channel 3 or 4 .. but only works on these two channels so if you have a sensor on all channels 1 to 4 select the right two to be more discrete etc. Personally I like the visual as it can also act as a deterrent.
You can also charge these without removing them by using a power bank and the supplied cable 🙂
CCTV is ok but more and more scumbags just ignore the fact and continue while there wearing hoodys or masks this is where and why there is a market for this type of sensors. So far so good 5 stars for me

I am very impressed with the Hosmart Driveway Alarm System. It is very straight forward to use and as I always say simplicity is efficiencies best friend. The system is very easy to install. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The system came with 4 sensors, you simply set each one to the zone you want before putting the sensors together and mounting them on your wall or fence. The sensors come charged but the instructions recommend that you charge them fully before assembly which is simple and they charged fast.

I installed the sensors to cover all access points across my property and tested them again and again during the first day I installed the system to make sure they worked fine which they did. We have cats as well as foxes, deer and badgers that come on to our property but with carefully choosing the height, angle and position of the sensors I have had no repeating false alarms. I have found that if an animal does trigger the system, it sounds once. However I got my son to act as an intruder and try outbuilding doors, gates etc. The thing I found was that an intruder will trigger the alarm continually where as an animal may just set a zone off once. Multiple triggers is definitely the sign of an intruder.

The system thankfully does not use WIFI which means no WIFI setting up and no drop out if the WIFI goes off. The system also has a battery backup so if the power goes off the system will keep working. The volume is fine and can be adjusted. I can hear it throughout our cottage at the level it is set at when you turn it on. One thing I will point out is that you will need to get used to identifying the 4 different tones by ear to know which zone has been triggered when away from the base station receiver. When you are near the receiver you can see which zone has activated because each zone has a light as well as a tone.

The system also came with 2 chargers and the cable length is brilliant, nice and long. There is nothing worse than power leads that are short. No such problem with the Hosmart system. One extra nice touch is that a screwdriver was supplied with the system to help with installing it, so no hunting for a screwdriver if you don’t have the right size.

The Hosmart Driveway Alarm System gets a full 5 Star rating from me.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersMy order got caught up in the Covid chaos and arrived late which wasn’t a good start. When they arrived I wasn’t impressed with the colour as I wanted my alarm to be completely invisible. My alarm is set to notify us when someone is at our front gate 100 yards from the house and also the location where the visiters/intruders are on our property.
What we found is that this device can protect with 4 sensors or it can protect 4 areas with multiple sensors which is how we use it.
After one month of using this alarm it works perfectly in all weathers. We get very little in the way of false alarms and that can be a bird sitting on the sensor or a wild animal in front of it. But that is only because of where we have placed the sensor. The range we did a test and it was somewhere near that distance in line of sight. But what impressed us a lot more is that our first sensor at the gate has it’s signal going through trees and bushes in full leaf. Then through a large timber insulated building with 10″ thick walls. Then through a twin 12″ thick concrete walled house with multiple 4″ thick internal concrete walls to the back bedroom. A total distance of 100 yards plus.
So far very impressed. The colour I will alter with a bit of green paint.
What you get with this product is not just a driveway alarm, but a great security alarm which can be used to track your intruders. It is ok being notified of a triggered alarm, but by careful placing of the sensors this system can alert you to threats and track their whereabouts on your property. If you use this system with live video or game/trail cameras. Intruders can be tracked and filmed and you alerted while seated in your house.
The ability for the sensor signal to penetrate multiple dense solid objects makes this system far superior to other similar products on the market.
    UPDATE 6 MONTHS:
I have found these sensors to be great. They are constantly tripped because they are on the driveway, so as a precaution I recharged them. But the beauty is and just as I wanted……I know where everyone is on my property. I can tell which direction they are moving and whether it is a delivery or a visitor. I can even tell if its a false alarm because you learn with them as you go. False alarms are usually a cat or other same size animal close to the sensor, or sometimes a bird which sits on it looking for insects. But you know because the other sensors arent tripped off first or afterwards.

Ive used different alarms over the years for sheds, but they all have their sirens in the shed. No use fro me when asleep in the home. So decided to use this instead because I could have the the main unit in the home where I could hear it. I know that this isn’t its intended use, but I think it isn’t such a bad idea. Here in the UK, I think it makes far more marketing sense for this to be used as an alarm for out buildings, because the average home only has a small drive or private entrance to the front yard. The only downside to using it as an alarm for intruders trying to steal my bikes would be that its not really an alarm, no annoying siren sound to shock me into a get up and attack mode, but rather 4 different tunes to choose from. I worry I may miss it. But again, I know this is not its intend use, but I think with a simple upgrade to sounds, could be very diverse and useful for different applications

Early days as yet, just installed, one sensor has been going off randomly, but that is because needed adjusting to allow for vegetation blowing in the wind!! So far so good, main thing for me is the distance between base and sensors which at the moment is good.

I was a bit sceptical when I received this gadget, as it appears quite small and flimsy, but having fixed it to the gatepost it works exactly as I wanted to to. If someone comes through the gate the base unit in the house chimes. Also it’s very handy to be able to take the base unit into the garden when powered by batteries, to be alerted when someone comes. I took one star off as it’s not the easiest to put together and fix to the gatepost, a bit fiddly, but got there in the end.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersExcellent product for securing your perimeter and truly excellent customer service! The sensors seem robust and function well, with a relatively low amount of false triggering. The range to the base station is more than adequate. My only gripe would be the alarm sounds (apart from sound 2) are a bit rubbish, and it would be good to have a choice of sounds. It would also be great if they added WiFi, so you could control it via an app as well. I guess they could always add those features to the next model of the base station.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersPurchased the unit with four sensors and have two in service so far. I’m am very pleasantly surprised by the product. It’s well designed, has innovative features and is well constructed. Sensors ship with internal battery unplugged so you need to plug in, select sensor modes and fit casing rear cover. However this is easy and allowed me to see the quality of the design and construction, such as the sealing. I originally thought that the unit was expensive but having received it it’s well worth the money. It works well and the distinctive zone tones are a bonus. Examples of thoughtful design are the internal board mounted selection switches which should improve reliability and will rarely require access after initial installation, and the extra long USB charging lead supplied.

Only quibbles are the need to tighten the swivel mount before installation which then becomes inaccessible and that there is not a rechargeable option for the base unit although it would normally be USB powered anyway.

Current covid issues raised problems with delivery – not Hosmart’s fault – but Hosmart’s customer service agent arranged a great work around, the best customer service I’ve ever encountered.

Looking forward to more consumer electronics from this company.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersDoes exactly what I wanted. The sensor is in my back garden and discretely (the colour makes it blend in well with its surroundings) faces French doors at the back of my house (one of the more attractive entry points into my property for a burglar). My back garden is very small so the sensor will immediately detect someone who jumps over the fence that surrounds the garden. The transmitter/alarm is in my bedroom (but is loud enough to be heard throughout the house and even outside the house, which is desirable as a deterrent against burglars). Having thoroughly tested it, I know that I will be alerted if somebody jumps into my back garden and thus before they even reach the French doors.

I can confirm that the sensor works well both in daylight and dark at nighttime. Moreover, it is very sensitive. It detected a sock that I dropped into the garden from a window on the second floor of my house.

The sensor seems pretty robust because it is still standing despite some rather harsh rain recently.

Customer service is fantastic. I had a problem with the original transmitter that I was sent. I contacted Hosmart who immediately sent out a new transmitter, no questions asked.

I think that the product could be a little bit cheaper but, considering the great customer service and readiness to send out replacements when things go wrong, the seemingly slightly steep price might be worth it in the long-term.

This set of 4 detectors and 1 in-home box work very well.
The detectors have to be switched internally to 1 of 4 sensitivities and 1 of 4 frequencies (each one must be different) which gives a different musical jingle from the home-box specific to each one so you can ascertain which one has been set off.
A specific led also lights up on the home-box during the event but is usually too quick to see which one.
The range is very good with the furthest detector being around 30m from the house but the range should be much greater if required.
The quality of construction looks to be very good.
The only 2 minor issues are that screwing the detector to the mounting surface is difficult without undoing the pivot screw which holds the device pointing in the desired direction which can’t be accessed when the device is mounted.
The other is that even in least sensitive mode, the detectors can be set off by a bird flying in front of them despite the claim that they don’t detect small animals.
Overall however they are work well and I would recommend them.

    Pros
    . Works very well!
. Long range (over 100m in open, over 50m when receiver inside building)
. Volume control but loud if needed
    . Can choose transmitter sensitivity
. Good lateral range (field of view)
. Very sensitive (picks up mice) so install carefully!
. Comes with charger/receiver PSU, receiver takes rechargeable batteries (does not charge)
    . US product?

    Cons (suggested improvements)
    . Alarm tones sound awful!
. No relay out to connect another alarm, etc
. No way to temporary disable select transmitters (e.g.only have the driveway one on during the day)
. Limited to four transmitters, will another set run or conflict?
. Receiver not also chargeable for true portability (need to replace/recharge batteries)

I never ever had a costumer service like this before. Since purchasing the unit, the owner of the business was in touch regularly, checking in how did we get on with the installation and if we would have any questions. I work in hospitality, but this is far beyond my expectations. Well done mate, keep up the good work, I will be buying more that for sure as the product is great and the accuracy is spot on. Also very good as the distance that it works allows me to be relaxed about where I place the sensors. Fantastic!

This is significantly cheaper than the competitors and it’s great. We have a long drive so the concern was that it would cover the distance back to the box in the house. No problems. easy enough to fix to a tree and we were up and running straight away.
The motion detection sometimes goes off – and I think this is due to the Sun coming across the beam. generally it’s very good and not too many ‘false’ alarms. I wanted it as a ‘door bell’ for deliveries etc and it works great.

Unfortunately we discovered that we detected each others sensors. I contacted HoSmart who promised to sort out the problem by sending a suitable replacement, it was to come from Hong Kong and because of the problems in China there would be a delay. HoSmart kept me updated with progress and were most apologetic about the delay. It really was very easy to set up this Hosmart alarm and looks very durable for our weather. I also bought an additional sensor. I would recommend that the receiver unit is used with supplied mains adapter as it will consume the batteries very quickly. I like the fact that the sensors can be swivelled to project at most angles. Not sure how long the sensor battery will retain its charge, particularly when using zones 1 & 2 which also gives a red light when activated. The kit is even supplied with a phillips screwdriver which fits the screws perfectly! Overall a very good driveway alarm and would recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersI bought this alarm to warm me when someone is walking on my driveway and approaching our front door.
I am very happy to say that it is working great, I set it up on the lowest sensitivity as I want to detect people up to 4 meters of the sensor maximum and so far I have never had any false alarm by cats or other small animals. I installed it around 1 meters above ground level. It is great to be able to select the sensitivity/detection distance, very few systems allow you to do this. I also like that the receiver works on both batteries and plugged in, this allowed me to walk with the receiver in my hand to test the position of the sensor so I could do the whole installation on my own. There are 4 channels on the receiver, each with a different alarm tone so you can know immediately which sensor triggered the alarm. You can set the channel on the sensor and the first two will make the sensor light up dimly when triggered while when set to one of the last two channels, no light will come up so nobody knows that they have triggered an alarm. The sensor unit is well protected against the weather with seals and hood and the battery should easily last a year from what I read. There is a sealed plug at the bottom to charge the battery from any mobile phone power bank so I won’t need to remove the sensor to charge it in a year time which is great. I also like the color of the sensor, brown, which blend well with my wooden fence, I saw that it is possible to get a dark green sensor too to blend with vegetation. I located the receiver 20 meters from the sensor with several brick walls in between and it is working fine. So far I am happy with this alarm, I should have bought one years ago!

This product exceeded my expectations. I have been experimenting with PIR sensors, auto diallers and advanced CCTV cameras. The problem with CCTV alerts is that you get too many false alerts even after adjusting sensitivity.
Standard autodialers trip with changes in sun light.
This Hosmart system has solved my issue, it triggers only with humans, not animals or birds and not with changes in light. I have set the sensitivity to low and mounted above external doors. Now I will be alerted when prowlers approach the house. I highly recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOnly had them up and running a couple of weeks so I cant yet comment on IR sensor battery times ..but being sited out in a the middle of a farm track with the good range and where they are sited on the three general access points gives me ample warning of approaching visitors or passing traffic, and in conjunction with a new CCTV system it gives me time to look up at the camera monitor.

It would be nice to have quick release fittings on the IR units as I can see the need to keep unscrewing then from their location to take to the charging point when they need charging, I may just resolve this with some homemade quick release slot-in brackets when I get chance.

Just bought another base unit so I can have one indoors and another in the workshop as I suggest they ate used with mains power as the batteries in the base unit have a short life (or use rechargables). Otherwise great produc

Compared to others I have tried, this is much much better quality, but its 4 times the price of the others! However its worth it. Battery lasts much longer and it works as it should. Only downside is the ugly colour? I have it inside my restaurant as an early warning system in case customers are about, to warn the staff. White or even black would have been better, but it didn’t stop me from buying another two, for the other restaurants! Tried a few, and these are the best!
