High power, smallest footprintWhen the original iLoud speaker was released, it set a new standard for portable power and sonic accuracy in an ultra-small, portable form factor. iLoud Micro Monitor is a natural evolution of that design concept, and just like popular predecessor, offer a completely new and unmatched sonic experience. iLoud Micro Monitors are specifically designed for small makeshift working spaces â bedroom studios, small project studios, on the tour bus or in a hotel room, and they are perfect as an additional reference monitor system for super nearfield listening. | Amazing sound, but why?iLoud Micro Monitor sounds amazing and real. But why? Well, a part of that is due to its internal 56-bit digital signal processor (DSP). This DSP is responsible for things like taking care of the frequency and phase response of the monitors as well as also controlling the dynamic range so that the drivers are always under control and operating efficiently. It also acts as a digital crossover that allows for invisibly smooth transitions between the drivers themselves. | Free-field positioningItâs often overlooked â your studio monitorsâ tweeters need to point at your ears. This is even more critical in modern studios where more and more musicians are using them at very close distances, like on a desktop beside their laptop or computer screen. iLoud MTM includes a tilting mount that not only helps isolate it, but also angles from 0° to 20° for correct positioning in a wide range of setups. Thatâs higher than most other âtiltingâ monitors, that too often canât actually reach the needed angle for a desktop or other close-listening setup. |

|---|---|---|
Get connectedYou can easily use iLoud Micro Monitor with all your favorite gear. Sending an audio signal to it couldnât be easier. It has inputs for both RCA and 1/8â connectors, and it can also receive audio via Bluetooth from any Bluetooth-enabled device. | The first monitor that can travel with youBecause iLoud Micro Monitors are the smallest – and lightest (1.7kg / 60.7oz) – monitors in the world, you can now for the first time ever have a true reference monitor system everywhere you go. If you do productions on the go, you will now have a travel companion that will give you trustworthy sound anywhere â just pack them into your gigbag or backpack with your laptop and go. | Superior monitoring, superior meteringiLoud Micro Monitor also gives you the T-RackS 5 Metering Suite for free upon registration. This broadcast-ready suite provides you with precision Peak, RMS and Dynamic Range meters, spectogram, real-time analyzer, phase and correlation meters and more. Itâs a couple set of tools to manage all the aspects of your audio material with reference-class accurary. This convenient plug-in can be inserted on your master bus or any single track so your metering is as professional as your monitoring. |
Each tweeter and woofer is powered by ultra-efficient class D power amplifiers that push a total of 50W RMS with amazing low-end response down to 55Hz (-3dB) â the best bass response in its category. Each monitor sports a 3/4â silk dome tweeter, a 3â high-rigidity custom composite material woofer and a large-flaring front-firing bass reflex port. Thanks to these features, itâs able to deliver smooth and extended high frequencies, an exceptionally open, focused midrange and a solid, controlled low end. Simply put, iLoud Micro Monitor’s sound is so good that itâs nearly inconceivable for a speaker system of this size and at this price point.

Top little bangers
Love these little bangers there so light and quick in the bag and set up anywhere could do with an app to tweak the eq a little more but presets are good aswell.
Big sound in compact size = major problems (for some)
Pros:
+ Compact and lightweight
+ Sound Quality
+ Bluetooth
+ Value for money
Cons:
– Hum and buzz ( when turned on )
– Power brick not shielded for pro use ( could introduce interference/noise into other equipment)
– Low frequency port noise ( if you play music with a lot of sub frequencies, you won’t be able to crank these )
Very handy small speaker you can put in your backpack. I’m not sure IK Multimedia designed these for Pro use because of the noise they sometimes make, the annoying port noise + the unshielded power brick which no professional should introduce in their studio.
The little speaker that packs a punch
I needed some proper studio speakers for my home music studio. I’ve become aware recently that what has sounded fine on my PC peripherals doesn’t always sound fine on larger speaker systems – so i need to upgrade with some proper studio speakers which don’t tinker with the sound. When I first listened through these, it was as if I were hearing the music for the first time – I could hear details I’d never heard before. You’ll see plenty of reviews of these on youtube – and let me tell you, they are correct when they say these are an excellent investment – don’t be put off by the size because the frequency range is astounding. deep powerful bass, crisp highs. Definitely worth every penny.
Love the sound these produce. I recently replace them with edifier e25hd, and was amazed how it compared. The only downside is the buzzing noise during idle, but it can be reduce by lowering the volume knob on the back, or turning off speaker when not in used. Overall it’s worth the purchase and size.

Casse pazzesche
These speakers are surprisingly clear, full sound spectrum including bass response that's amazing from such small speakers. They're great and I highly recommend them.

Great quality sound. Has flat setting for nice, clean editing for interviews and mixing music and dialogue. Also very powerful and robust.

Great little monitors
These are excellent little studio monitors . They cover the full range if found but are compact and portable . I use them in my studio and also when I am doing rehearsals with my gospel group .
Bought these to replace a pair of expired (11 years always-on) Audioengine A2s in my kitchen setup. After reading reviews etc, and seeing them on offer (224) i bought without auditioning them as I normally would with audio kit. Quick and easy to install, I added an iFi power supply and a cheap FiiO Tashan DAC, then connected all to Squeezebox Touch. Pairing a couple of Bluetooth devices was next, then ready to go.
First impressions with my own FLACs, Qubuz flacs, Spotify 320kps and iplayer, were great. Vocals particularly were far better than A2s. Mids much more forward (but not in your face ‘revealing’) and the DSP bass is very OK for such a diminutive box. All very together, cohesive, and other such hi fi terms….. Really pleasing. Crank it up to max and things do break down a bit, but these aren’t really designed to be full-on party speakers or for deep house/dubstep fiends. What they are, is thoroughly enjoyable room filling speakers that really do bely their size, and offer sophisticated-sounding, engaging and fun listening with all genres i play reggae to chamber music. For radio 4 etc, they are perfect.
More than good enough for a kitchen/office/ bedroom second system, but actually, were i not spoiled elsewhere with more costly audiophile gear, i would still be happy with these as my main system.
Very pleased with this purchase. I am considering adding a very small subwoofer to relive the iLouds of <60hz bass loading which should free up mid mass, mids and tweeters more. Thinking of a hidden Fostex PM Mini....
BUT, I am genuinely thrilled with the sound and quality. These speakers perform well above their cost imho.
I have noted other comments on reliability and IK customer service, but so far, so good. I left the previous A2s running continually (for 10+ years) but with these I turn on/off each day.
Pros:
- Very accomplished overall sound for size, cost and category.
- vocals sound very open
- they can rock and funk for average to loud (but not deafening) levels
- Dinky design and size is pleasing
- Build quality seems good and solid.
- Range of uses and sittings possible
- Eq Parameters and tilt angle adjustments useful plus well though out
- BT Pairs and connects quickly and easily.
- no hum with alt PSU (iFi)
- Solid and good system-buildIn potential - add dacs, subs etc
- WAF high - wife loves them and they have received universal approval from all house visitors to date.
Cons:
- Supplied PSU is poor quality - no surprise it hums.
- rear switches especially power ON are a fiddle to reach.
- ditto rear volume - however I use input devices to control levels and leave main volume preset at half.
- L+R connecting cable is very thick and quite unwieldy (with proprietary connectors) for those who like tidy hidden cabling
- Bluetooth does bleep as reported once it senses an already-paired device - and this can irritate. solution is to switch off iphone BT.
- BT sound quality not a patch on wired inputs - but you knew that.
Really hoping they prove to be reliable in long term.
RECOMMENDED
EDIT UPDATE MAY 2021
Well these have been going now for 9 months. They are playing either radio, streamed music or podcasts from 7am to 8-9pm most days.
Been cranked up loud a few times and they are more than punching above their weight, but generally they are ticking along at more moderate volumes. I am really enjoying them as are the family. Many guests have also commented on their neatness, full and detailed sound and DSP enhanced bass that belies their diminutive size. Their fit and finish is good - they wipe over easily in kitchen.
They have gone up in price since I bought them as have their bigger brothers the MTM monitors. -I could be tempted to upgrade.
Cons:
Not perfect - the rear control can be a pita, although I use a streamer and have added Topping E30 DAC to act has pre amp/vol controls.
Bluetooth is OK, but they do have a bad habit of auto connecting to a previously linked device, whilst already playing something else - then emitting a dreadful white noise. Unlink devices (iphone etc) solves this. Fortunately re-linking is a doddle. It's the only black mark.
Otherwise I am delighted.
An excellent pair of speakers
For a few months, I’ve used these with a notebook computer for teaching purposes. At first, the results were adequate rather than ideal but, after some experimentation with volume and tone settings, I found that the combination could provide excellent sound for the full range of classical music in a medium-sized room (up to 30 people).
Sorry, but I can’t comment on their bluetooth capabilities – it’s always been less trouble for me to use a lead. But for portable teaching equipment, their small size has made them particularly practical without sacrificing quality of sound.
I really like the form factor for these micro monitors as they fit nicely on my computer desk. These are more than loud enough for small rooms but even larger rooms may be ok too as I’ve never gone past half volume. The sound is true to the original whether that be good or bad and will allow you to dial in a sound that works for most scenarios. My only complaint would be the use of the proprietary power cables but since I don’t plan on moving these anytime soon I’m not too worried about losing them. All in all I’m very pleased as usual with my IK Multimedia purchase of the iLoud Micro Monitors as I’ve been with the other IK products I’ve purchased in the past.

Personal use streaming from my laptop
So accurate for the price. I cannot comment on studio work as I have only used these for casual laptop music streaming.
Yes, they are a little directional and probably not best used for large living room listening, but once audio is directed into that listening triangle with the listener in a smaller room, honestly, wow! And this is after having returned 2 sets of more expensive ‘brand’ speakers. Not their fault, they all rear fired in a small room back to the wall and were boomy as a result. These front port, and they do go way loud enough, which I don’t push past 20% personally, but I still haven’t heard them distort. There are LED lights warning of clipping though, probably more for studio work. Thermal controls seem not even an issue.
I won’t say they are audiophile at that basic price, but they are much closer to that than I would have ever originally guessed and I’m always hearing new sounds off old music! They are fine with 320kbps too! They operate really well within their default EQ settings, but those can be subtlely adjusted to personal taste.
If there is any weakness, it’s probably in the name, which conjures up images of cheap small computer speakers?
They are so much better than that, and just need the benefit of more prominent UK audio coverage. They are from the States where their reviews are very good.
Bluetooth quality a bonus, and set up generally is peasy. They were a very considered purchase for me, and they have been brilliant so far. Great for vocals, pop, blues or rock, and I have used them nicely with an inexpensive inline DAC, but that is definitely not essential use.
Go to Youtube for vids on studio use.
Wow for the price, simply amazing. Super portable and VERY VERY Loud if need be. What I also like is there is a blue light that blinks red if your music is exceeding acceptable decibels. Pretty useful for when you want to have a closer look without having to blare your headphones or speakers .

Excellent!
I purchased the speakers both for home video editing and everyday use (listening to music on my laptop and vinyl palyer, and watching movies), surprisingly, they are perfect for both experiences!
These speakers blew me away the moment I turned them on. The amount of bass that comes out of the little 3.5" driver is unreal. So much so, that I actually flipped the -3db bass reduction switch on the back to flatten things out a bit. The high end is smooth and present, but not as crisp as many other studio monitors, or shrill like what you might expect from tiny speakers that look like something you'd find at BestBuy. There is a +3db switch for the high end as well, but I thought it got a little too shrill for my liking so I have that flat. Highly recommend as reference monitors or just super high quality desk speakers.

Klasse Teile
These are good monitors for listening to music, they are loud and full sounding. I've heard of people using these in studios for mixing, and I would not recommend them for that use. They are a little bit overhyped at the low end, and even with the low attenuation switch engaged (some sort of high pass filter) the lows are too much. That said when I crank up my 80s metal they drown out my squeaky treadmill when I'm working out, I'm glad I bought them.

You will not be disappointed in this purchase for sure. This was the perfect solution for me to downsize my monitors without compromising sound quality. These little bad boys are definitely worth the bang for the buck.

The sound is great. The size is small. They fit well on my small desk. I researched carefully before buying. Some impressive people have praised them in Youtube reviews. I don't think you will find a better sounding speaker with such a small desktop footprint.

Very good for editing and mixing
It’s surprisingly good for editing and mixing at home or a small room. It doesn’t send the sound more than enough that makes the sound clear and without any feedback (the sound doesn’t turn and come back to you again). It has good bass and high freq. there is some lost freq in mid-range but it’s affordable. When you are used to hearing music from these littles you can do mix easily and well.
I love my white iLoud Micros
I’ve got exactly what I wanted. Great sound, smaller size and a reasonable price.
Amazing! Very white... lol but amazing.
Love these monitors.
Very crisp. Perfect if you dont have the space or just dont want to go all in on larger monitors.
Did i mention they are very white. I think i can see them. And i’m at work right now.
Klanglich vortrefflich
Sehr gute Studio Lautsprecher. Mein persnlicher Tip.
Updated review
Okay, so I replaced the first pair I got, as they were clearly defective. Also, the second pair, I used ferrite cores to cut as much possible interference as possible. These do not have the hiss/hum the first pair had, but they do have amplifier noise when nothing is playing. Because these are so accurate, they direct that slight hiss right into your ears if you’re sitting at a desk with them. If you tilt them slightly off access, you don’t hear it unless you get up close to the speaker.
Not withstanding that flaw, these are incredible speakers for their size. You have to get a pair for yourself to understand how good they sound.
There is a slight shortage
The quality of sound is satisfactory.
But when I turned the volume up to maximum,
I find the noise annoying (static noise)
In passing, I never gave these much credo, until I lent them my ears. Then, their computer speaker looks fell by the wayside and I was mesmerized. Good things do come in small packages! This a great example of that. They sound tremendous and are perfect for any prject studio (or casual listening). I use them for my home DJ setup and have their bigger brothers, the MTMs for my production suite, although I'd be happy with these there as well. Can't recommend these highly enough. This, coming off a pair of Focal Solo6 Bes.

4.8 stars
The sound they deliver for the price and size is mind-blowing.
What I don’t like is the speaker connection cable. It is bulky and kinda short if you want to use them with stands as home entertainment.
Amazing!
This is the best portable speaker set I have ever owned and probably will. Despite small size, those sounds astonishing, balanced, neutral and actually produce even a good bass response (where source tells it to do so only – of course). I am running them off tube amplifier normally but those sound well with digital ones as well.
Love these!
These are as amazing as most reviews say. Period.
Most clear, detailed audio. I mix all my music on them now.
These don’t fatigue my ears at all when set to decent volumes.
Now when I use 8″ monitors, I can really feel the contrast of the air pushing on my eardrums, even when not so loud.
This is in a small home studio though, and large monitors are good for larger studios.
Good 3" speakers for audiophiles
Many have left useful reviews already.
Here are some key things I want to add or echo with other reviewers. (I use FiiO X7 as the source. )
1. The “sweet spot” is very very small. If you put the speakers on the desk and are sitting on a chair, then you must use the speakers’ own stands and turn on the desk EQ mode. You should notice a dramatic difference on sound imaging and sound quality than you do not. You must place the speakers right.
2. These speakers are reference speakers. They tend to be more analytical. This means that you can hear lots of details, and the sound is comparably dark and cold. If the recording is bad, you will find the music unbearable. You need decent recordings. Most amplifications make the sound “warmer”. A cold sound signature may make pop less enjoyable, but these speakers are very good for listening to instruments.
3. -3db to low frequencies. Without turning this mode on, I find the sub-bass to be excessive, and of low quality.
At USD199, these speakers are able to produce sound quality comparable to the best headphones and earphones at this price point.
Tiny package BIG sound!
I was astounded by the quality of the sound, how big the sound is, and how the response remains linear – all from such small monitor speakers. Absolutely fantastic. It worked with my iPad and iPhone literally with the touch of a button. I am planning to be shuttling between two countries over the course of 2020, and now I can take my music studio with me in a backpack! Here’s to hoping these speakers stand the test of time.
45-60Hz a little bit port noise but.. You will rarely experience it.
This speaker will sound perfect for most experiences.
If swelling occurs depending on your environment, use the controls on the back.
Many sounds change by changing FLAT to DESK.
If you are worried about port noise, use a sponge to block the holes below.
The problem will be solved.
You may be mistaken for many problems as above,
But not a big problem.
Usually it is easily solved through control adjustment or with a sponge.
I can think of and talk about these little problems.
This speaker is a monitoring speaker that produces very good and perfect sound.
Impressive for their size
i usually use Adam monitors in my main studio, but got these for when im using my macbook in another room. very impressed with the detail on the sound and they go down to 40Hz, which is impressive for such small monitors.
price is on point too
These sound way better than they should for the price. The 2/3" microphone stand mount on the bottom allowed me to place these right next to my big monitors by using a mic extension arm. I haven't been using the big monitors much since I installed these. The bass response is impressive for these tiny things. A no-brainer for any home studio setup.

As good if not better than Most 6" Monitors
I’ve never written reviews here on Amazon before, but I think these speakers deserve a few words.
I’ve used IK Multimedia’s software products since the first generation T-Racks was released and I’ve always been impressed by their sound quality. I’ve been mixing music semi-pro for over a decade and I’ve had a fair few entry-level and mid-range studio monitors pass through my room. I wanted a second reference for my mixes and space was an issue so I just bit the bullet and bought these because I know IK take sound pretty seriously. First thing: They need a few days to break in. It’s only after that the sound opens up. The detail, stereo imaging, transient response, Bass response and small footprint are unmatched in this price range in my view by any 6″ monitor I have used. They blew my Rokit 6 g3 out of the water as well as a set of Presonus Eris E8’s My friend owns! They are very capable monitors that could be used to mix a full album if needed. I bought these as a second reference, but I’m using them a lot more than that. A game changer!
Travelling ligh
I bought these speakers to be able to carry them as cabin baggage to my wife’s house in France. It is fairly primitive and the only source of music was a 64Gb memory stick plugged into a ‘TV’ and relayed through some very cheap computer speakers. All the reviews said they were astonishing for their size, and I can confirm this. They are effective down to the mid bass region, and give surprisingly good general reproduction, They were not in the same class as my Harbeth P3ESRs when I tried them at my desktop before leaving. but that is a pretty high bar to reach. I am very satisfied with them. If you want to have highly portable speakers which offer good performance on all but the lowest bass then I think these are hard to beat.
Schnelle Lieferung.
When you hear a movie trailer through this speaker within say 1.5 feet you feel you are in the movie theater. Amazing sound. I though no way it can sound great but it does. We all rely on the comments here but each persons perception is different and so its difficult to how the low, mid and highs are. The bass goes deep and the dialogs are super crisp and the songs sound amazing. I wish it last long. Its build great. The connecting wire to the next speaker is a pain. But the sound just takes all the pain away

I like these for mixing audio to my videos. The sound is good and flat and the imaging is precise. I don’t get any fatigue while using them. I can switch between flat & the desktop mode to help imagine audio as it might be when passing through desktop tuned consumer speakers, or to just enjoy nice audio. I have far larger monitors also. They’re not as convenient to use for everyday tasks so I’m on these a lot more. I switch between the two pair of monitors while mixing stuff and it gives me a nice dynamic look at my audio. But this pair alone would be enough for my purposes. My first pair was defective so I sent it back. My new pair, on occasion, I’ve stolen them away from my computer and set them around the house just to listen to music in odd locations or to render sound from my piano. I truly love the little things. I’m shocked by how versatile and proper they are.
The best small studio monitors for your buck!
I’m literally BLOWN AWAY by how much power these little babies pack! I replaced my yahama HS5’s for these and while some of you may think this is crazy, especially for production, the accuracy of these is top notch for something this small and in this price range. For a home studio, these are all you really need.
A note for casual audio listeners these are more for music production, so don’t expect over the top ridiculous fake sounding music, these are flat speakers and accurately output proper sound.
The best tiny speaker on the marke
The iLoud Micro Monitors use a very unique bass vent design that give the small speakers fantastic extension. For both the size and the price, these are top notch contenders despite the unfortunately low-fi sounding name (iLoud? really?)
The DSP limiter on the bass does prevent these from being driven too loud but they provide top tier performance at lower volumes.
I use them with cans of chili as speaker stands with staddling my iMac.
These inexpensive computer monitor speakers will blow your mind. They are incredibly efficient in producing high quality sound from lightweight, easily installed speakers without the hassle of having to set up an additional subwoofer, which I've learned, life can go on very nicely without. You won't get earth shattering bass, but you'll get a close approximation and the rest of the range is really nice and accurate. They are perfect as substitutes for your internal computer speakers and are nice for streaming music from other sources as well. Couldn't be easier to hook up.

Horrible product name aside (iLoud, really?), man they pack a surprising punch especially for their diminutive size. Build wise it’s a matte plastic speaker with metal grills. It feels very solid, I wouldn’t say premium but moreso like a workhorse if that makes sense. Tough and rugged. They’re not pretty also but again they’re like a workhorse. They’re loud enough for a bedroom, I wouldn’t put them on TY duty in the living room imo.
They sound great. Clear with good imagining and detail. Not fatiguing at all. This has pretty darn great bass for the size that’s punchy and not overpowering. Some sort of wizardry must’ve been used to get that much low end from these little things. It did come at a cost though, at around 50hz with the volume cranked high enough you’ll hear a rattle from the ports which is a shame really. Fortunately I never put the volume that high anyway so it doesn’t bother me really but I know it will for others.
Carrying on with some of the quirks of this unit. There’s a high pitched noise when it turns on for about 30-40 seconds. This is because of Bluetooth from what I can tell from a bit research. Also I do hear some white noise coming from the speakers although it’s drowned out easily buy whatever is playing or noises around you. The cable going between the two speakers is imo stupidly thick and not as flexible as I’d like. The volume knob is on the back too which makes it awkward at times.
Despite their quirks I’d recommend these for people who want small but great sounding speakers. There really isn’t much out there in a similar-ish price range like these. Edifier Eclipse comes to mind at a cheaper price. Other than that I can’t think of anything else.
I love these speakers. Got them back around Thanksgiving when there was a little deal on them but I would totally pay full price. I did some research and first bought a speaker pair for around 200$ (I won't mention the brand) that were highly reviewed on a lot of sites. They came, I listened, and immediately returned them. After more research bought the iLoud speakers, a bit cautiously given their terrible name (iLoud, really?). They immediately impressed me. For the price, they are captivating, wonderful desktop speakers. Listening to music with them is a joy. They keep me glued to my computer because listening to them is just a lot of fun. They have convinced me to upgrade my other home speaker kits, as the typical sonos speakers, etc. just don't seem to cut it anymore. FYI: I'm not an audiophile but I do have a very sensitive ear. Also, I don't use the bluetooth function so I can't comment on that.

😊 good near field speakers, used for listening at shorter distances
ok, let’s get this info out the way ; if you thinking of or have just purchase a pair, please keep the box – why ? because a tiny sticker on the box says warranty void if removed! also for a bit more pre-amble info, each speaker has a manufacture sequence number, underneath the rubber foot, these numbers should be relatively close in sequence and finally the power supply date stamp roughly tells you the sub-version of the speaker you are thinking of purchasing or you have just purchased, if it’s 2016 it has very possibly been made before the EQ was tweaked in the white special edition, if the date stamp is 2018, then at this time, both white and the black micro speaker versions have the exactly same EQ, that said if you have an earlier version (2016) the difference is really not that great, would i buy a 2016 version, yes 😉
these micro speakers are like a lot of cross over professional level products very popular and at a keen price point, they are not as robust as a pair of baby genelecs (close match in product type) or have the same level of audio response, but they are good and provide a detailed audio picture.
performance wise, the quality of the digital sound processor delivers, as other reviewers have said, yes at some higher levels some white noise hiss and a beeping when the bluetooth connects — this is normal for this type of dynamic speakers which is designed as a near field system to be used at lower levels where any white noise hiss is hardly noticeable, the much talked about low frequency rumble discussions on the internet i guess maybe an issue if you are mixing music with this frequency running throughout the mix, see internet for diy fix 🙂 — oh one thing to watch out for, if using bluetooth and why not, it’s good without any noticeable loss of quality, when you re-connect the volume on a mac is pushed to max ! — make sure you have, either, nothing playing into the speakers on bluetooth re-connect or use something like on a mac the loopback app where you can define audio circuits and preset volume levels
I have only just purchased a pair, for a small home studio, so longevity untested, like all speakers keep out of the sun or dry heat and when not using for a long while pack up in a padded case away from heat and dust should increase the lifespan
plenty of detail specs and analysis available on the internet — these speakers are good they are not baby genelecs which retail at around double the price for a pair … ( didn’t manage to buy them from Amazon … next time 🙂
I bought those speakers to use with my WeGo DJ deck and I could not be happier.
Good points
– Amazing sound quality, way better than my top brand ones.
– Super portable and such a massive space saver on my desk.
– Fantastic for smaller rooms yet I use them for my projectors to watch films and it’s absolutely amazing
– option to connect 2 Bluetooth sources at the same time so I don’t have to connect or disconnect when switching between devices.
– great connectivity again there is no need for any switch as all sources can play music at the same time – epic
– can be used vertically or horizontally
– very easy to setup and connect all sources
– again the sound quality will blow you away for such a tiny speakers – do not compare them to any small speakers like PC speakers those are class on its own
– power consumption is close to none I reckon you could power them up with decent solar panel 😉
Bad points- none maybe except short cable connecting both of the together
Good to have features which are missing
– remote control (yet those are monitor speakers) so designed to be on your desk withing your reach
All in all this product meets and exceeded all my expectations. If you want monitor speakers that are very small go for them you won’t regret.
Because of small factor I can take my speakers and dj deck with me in one rucksack – EPIC
clarity is amazing.... honestly better than i expected. just wish they had balanced inputs and on each speaker. the new model i'm sure is amazing but expensive for what it is

Now, the last thing I want is another pair of active speakers for my small studio as I have a pair of Genelec 8040a monitors there and nothing costing under 1000+ will even come close to those. I needed something in my lounge for general TV and music use. Over the years I have owned large speakers from Mission, Tannoy, PMC and lately Devialet Phantoms. Due to re-decoration and re-furnishing of my lounge and bearing in mind years of dissent from my wife regarding my hi-fi habits dominating the room, I decided to try to find the smallest active monitors available to see if I could live with them and downsize my system.
After some research it came down to Eve Audio SC203s or the I-Loud micro monitors. The Eves are more expensive and use AMT tweeters which I sometimes find a bit fatiguing. I have always been a fan of soft dome tweeters (PMC’s being the best) so I decided at the price the ILouds were worth a punt – even though I had quite low expectations.
Initial impressions were not that good to be honest. They look a bit like cheap computer speakers, though to be fair, build quality is quite good. The various inputs and Bluetooth are very versatile and go some way to make up for the looks. As for the sound, I was surprised by the quality and depth of the bass but slightly disappointed by the mids and slightly hard treble. Figuring that some burn-in might be appropriate I set them up in my studio and let them run for 48 hours with a Spotify playlist on loop. On setting them back up in the lounge they were transformed, mids were better balanced and the treble was softened and more musical. Detail and attack were also improved – although they could not be compared with more esoteric monitors, I was thinking that I could actually live with them.
So the ILouds are now set up in my lounge mounted on desktop mic stands sitting on top of a couple of units and working very well. My Panasonic TV is fed through the 3.5mm socket, my Rega turntable / AT120 cartridge is fed through a modified Cambridge 540P MM to the phono sockets and my iPad Pro running iTunes, Spotify and BBC iPlayer radio via Bluetooth.
There are a few things to bear in mind. They do not do very loud well. Wind them up loud with music that has very low bass and the ports start chuffing and distorting. However at the kind of listening levels in an average to small lounge in a semi-detatched house, they work very well indeed. Also bear in mind that the various inputs are mixed not switched, so physically turn off any unused sources when listening – unless of course you wish to play along with your software synth via Bluetooth while playing music through another source.
So, in summary, these are not just desktop studio monitors but are perfectly usable in the home. Currently even though I am used to bigger and better I am very pleased with them and can live with them (and my wife is now happy without big speakers and rack of gear). They really do live up to the hype going around as long as you are aware of a few limitations. I notice that IK Multimedia have now released the bigger and more powerful ILoud MTMs though less versatile with just XLR inputs – better for a studios, less so for the home.
These speakers are awesome!! The sound is incredible really didn’t believe the hype until i got my own pair. No need to turn the speaker level up past the half way mark. The white light on the front which indicate the powervus on also turns red when the music is too loud (peaking) awesome!! I think iloud should make a (isub) (ibass) (iboom) (ilow) something like that a small subwoofer to connect to the iloud speakers just a thought 🤔

I really had my doubts on these small speakers but saw many good reviews online so I took a chance. Boy am I glad I did. They sound BIG! I got them to go along with my Korg Kronos and they really hit the sweet spot. I did notice a bit of garbling on some of the heavier bass stuff but I suppose I’ve just got to learn how tweak them. Very happy though out of the box. And they are very easy to setup. (Comes with all cables needed)
Unbelievable sound from such tiny monitors!
I purchased these speakers on Cyber Monday to replace my computer speakers.
These monitors are so nice to listen to that I ended up sitting and listening to my favorite music and I heard the music differently, all of the music is discernible.
Having such clear sound is a real treat.
I listen to jazz, classical and old skol R&B and these speakers are perfect for that type of music.
If you are looking to shake you molars, these aren’t for you although they are plenty loud enough, the bass response is not emphasized and overpowering.
I have an expensive, portable, digital stage piano, but it has no speakers (Dexibell VIVO S1, 18 lbs).
I wanted something portable and great sounding to pair with it and make use of the renowned sound engine when on the go, and I watched many reviews for the iLoud speakers being raving good from many trusted sources (audiophiles and musicians).
Legit, they are amazing, and deserve all praise.
I also have a Kawai ES8 as my main digital piano, and the built-in speakers are the best in it’s class for being a portable full-stage piano (and much heavier at ~50 lbs for the slab alone).
The iLoud micro monitors make quick work of them, now I only listen to my digital pianos from them (if not through a pair of open-back headphones, recommended Sennheiser 598 SE/SR equivalents).
They are also so portable, they just sit on the piano themselves (the ES8).
Having Bluetooth connectivity is a huge plus, and I make use of it whenever I’m not plugged in playing.
Not my first IK Multimedia product, although I’m finding I’m purchasing more and more of their products, not because of the brand, but because they create unique accessories which are ideal for the modern musician.
Powerful sound, bluetooth, bi-amp design, portable, insane low in response for such a small woofer. Could use them for monitor purpose or take them to a party and probably fill a room with their sound. I use them in a number of ways and they have been great.
The company doesn’t have a staffed phone line, if you have any problems you have to email them which is total BS for high performance studio equipment. That is why I am knocking a star off, good customer service is part of the package and if I have a problem I don’t want to wait a week for an answer.
An as, he elegido monitores iLoud por 3 razones:
Amazing sound for tiny monitors!!!
Love these in every way as they are so portable but have great sound for monitoring. Would recommend these to anyone who wants a portable solution or not much desk real estate.
Great punchy sound
The bass response for a small speaker is incredible. Nice mid-range and high end also. Your ears don’t get tired listening to music for long periods. Well worth the money.
Purchased for use with my Roland Stage Piano (RD700NX).
The sound quality is excellent and they easily handle the full octave range without distortion or blurring that you get from plugging speakers into the headphone jack. The feet tilt out to raise the front of the speaker so they will also site perfectly on the sloped angle of a stage piano which is fab.
It’s very hard to find speakers that give you that crisp “headphone” sound for a piano but these are exceptional for the cost. I find most amps are tinny or slightly distorted and its unnatural to play with sound blasting at you right leg.
Though these pack a nice punch you’re not going to be playing Wembley or even with an enthusiastic drummer so if you are looking for something other than home practice I would look elsewhere. But if you want to get the most out of you piano / keyboard then I thoroughly recommend these.
Note: You may need to purchase a Twin Jack to RCA Phono Cable in order to plug into your gear.
The good:
– they sound impressive not only for their size but in general, very clear and loud, good stereo separation (although you need to sit in a precise spot to appreciate that).
– small size means more space for other stuff on your desk.
The bad:
– if you set the volume control at 12 (or more), where most people would do, the monitors get very noisy, even if no music is played – it’s just a white noise like in an old amp, unbearable if you sit at your desk in front of these speakers. But what works for me is to turn the volume knob down and leave at about 9 and control the overall volume from a computer or an audio interface. You should still have enough volume for listening.
– It’s true that they make a high pitch noise right after turning them on for about 20-30 seconds, when bluetooth is automatically kicking in. IK Multimedia confirmed that it’s normal operation.
– they make a rattling noise at frequencies around 50Hz. Normally you don’t notice it unless you play a long bass notes around this area.
Because of the issues above I was considering to return them but on a second thought – for the price, small size, good and loud sound, there are no many alternatives which would rival them.
I took a chance on these and am pleasantly surprised. They are really compact, but have a full sound - and good sweet spot - and good frequency response. I use them for keyboards and can sit them on either side of my 61-key workstation - then angle them up with the foldable stands - so I didn't need to use separate stands. The bluetooth connection is really handy, too, so if I'm learning a new song, I can connect my phone or laptop over bluetooth while my workstation is plugged into the inputs.

For Once, Size Doesn't Matte
I bought these speakers purely for listening to music and not mixing. At heart I am a gamer and I can’t get rid of my three displays which means I have almost no choice in a real pair of speakers due to limited space.
My small form factor choices were these or the Genelec 8010A. I listened to both and I ended up purchasing these are they were far cheaper than the Genelecs (which still sound great for their size).
Could not be happier. The bass on these really don’t make much sense for the size. Sometimes bass can actually be overpowering so it’s great that there are some EQ adjustments on the rear or the left speaker.
The only con with these is the cable that connects the two speakers together. It is unnecessarily thick and heavy. Sometimes when moving the right speaker, the cable is so heavy that it may disconnect from the port. Probably not an issue for most since you set them up and you’re done, but it’s still annoying. The thick cable also isn’t very malleable so it’s looks like a bit of a mess behind. Only a minor gripe though, these still deserve their 5* rating.
EDIT:
So I’ve used these for about a month now and still very happy with them. I want to clarify some things though as new buyers may not know, understand some things.
1. The speakers will have a quiet high pitch for around 10 seconds when first switched on. This is due to the bluetooth “turning on”. This will go after some seconds even if you decide to use the speakers with bluetooth.
2. There is port noise down in the lower spectrum. This is to be expected from such a small set of speakers / port. This does not mean the speakers are faulty.
Collego le casse all’Imac.

These speakers have no business putting out the amount of sound that they do. This is one of those times where the reality matches the hype. A recent price drop pushed me over the edge.
I wouldn’t consider myself an audiophile, at least not the sort that is going to spend silly money on fancy cables, but I am a musician and a video producer, so I do appreciate good sound. I bought these as something of a short term solution for my editing desk as I sort out my final configuration. I figure these might move down to my mobile edit rig at some point. But for now, they are my primary editing monitors, and I can clearly hear what I need to make editing decisions.
I like it a lo
Clear sound and impressive low end for such a small unit. I like it a lot.
Great versatile micro monitors
I am impressed and pleased with the sound these tiny monitors produce. I have connected them to my Yamaha Genos keyboard and the sound they produce is more than satisfactory for me. The bass is precise, although not too loud; mids are crisp and exhibit a quick response; highs complement well the speakers’ frequency range, thanks no doubt to their well-tuned crossovers. I also connected these monitors through Bluetooth and must admit that for a lossy, low-bandwidth connection, they sound better than most speakers I’ve tried. Compared to a Sonos 3, the bass is crisper but less powerful, the midranges are enhanced and brightened, but in a pleasant way for me, and the highs are more or less the same. Stereo spacing is much more defined with these speakers, and the sweet spot is acceptable for one person. There is also enough power for my needs (personal playing).
For the price, these speakers are the best I found: I like the way they sound and I can listen to them for a long time without fatigue. Please remember though that speakers are a very subjective choice, and one person’s favourite may be another’s worst choice.
But for me, these are amazing!
I needed some small monitors as I have moved country and wanted to be able to pack them easily and still have great quality. Before these I bought Tascam SL-S3. Unfortunately I grew disappointed with these very quickly, absolutely no low end and very cheap sounding.
Luckily I came across reviews of these iLoud and what can I say? Night and day difference compared to the Tascam. I know they are more expensive but then the iLoud are considerably less than Genelec 8010A and I don’t think the difference is HUGE in quality.
The iLoud sound is staggering considering the size, so much bass its hard to believe but the bass is very tight. Can’t recommend them enough if you need small monitors that are great for travel. Or even if you’re a bedroom producer who wants a minimal setup you can’t really go wrong with them. I had some cheap old M-Audio AV40 before which were actually rated very well in their time, they were bigger but I think the iLoud are 10x better.
I’m shocked. I’m speechless. I just don’t get it. Why are these small monitors so loud? Very impressed with the clarity and low end. Bluetooth works with my iPad but the monitors need an analog connection with MPC Live and Akai Force. The MPC and Force tried to pair with it but couldn’t for some reason. Very portable which is a must for my setup.
Amazing speakers for the size. Crystal clear sound and plenty loud. They are very directional and are designed for your desk and work best turned at 60 degrees each with respect to the listener so the listener is at the apex of an equilateral triangle. Bluetooth also works well and have used them with my phone. The frequency response of the speakers are very flat and they do not colour the music. Highly recommend and would buy again.
Concludo ricordando agli audiofili che state comprando casse monitor pertanto utilizzatele prevalentemente come tali.
I bought these for desktop use for general and music editing and mixing. I can’t really add more than what has been written, but these are very good sounding, true monitor speakers capable of near-field production use whether you are using them in a portable or dedicated studio environment. Accurate flat frequency response with very good bass, yes these are for all practical purposes portable near-full range professional monitors. The addition of Bluetooth is a nice feature and surprisingly useful even in a production environment. Build quality is very good, but the sound quality is why you should consider these..
These speakers are great for listening, mixing, tracking or whatever you want. The stereo imaging is incredible, it is seriously insane that they are able to create the sound that they do. I moved from KRK Rokit 6’s to these speakers and I won’t go back. Both set’s of speakers have the same SPL although these are of the size with have the driver size. These are excellent speakers, buy them while they are still $200, I have already recommended them to 5 people and I just got them.
Soldi spesi bene. davvero un ottimo prodotto. Qualit audio eccellente, materiali buoni, packaging curato. Consigliate
Er, excuse me? Should this sound be actually possible in speakers this size?? NO. How can it? What new devilry is this? BTW this isn’t some kind of nasty fake sound with artificial low end and rubbish mids – it’s clean, full, accurate (up to a point) – and well, frankly impossible…
They handle mids and highs with great clarity and have a pretty smooth low end
Incredible speakers for their size and price. They handle mids and highs with great clarity and have a pretty smooth low end. I paired them with an active subwoofer to get the whole spectrum as they really start to fall off around 40-50hz. The only drawback I noticed is a slightly narrowed stereo field compared to other studio monitors I’ve heard. Overall though I’m very impressed.
(Edit) A year or so in I noticed a very audible speaker rattle around 460hz. I hear it often in voice and piano music It’s a real shame but I’ve found the same problem on iloud forums and it seems to be an inherent structural problem with the master speaker. Hopefully not too many others have had this issue and I just got one of the bad batch.
Five Stars
Very good quality. Packaged nicely and quick postage. Well pleased with these, good sound and Loud.
The speaker itself is small and compact; base is solid (surprising for its size), detail of the sound is great for orchestra, opera;
One drawback is the cable noise. When i use its RCA to 3.5 cable, its noise is too high, needs to buy another cable.
Excellentes enceintes multimédia.
Excellentes petites enceintes.
I am happy to say that these will not compromise my ability ...
Wow, these are some incredible little monitors. I purchased them because I am stripping down my studio so that it can fit into a small Airstream camper. I am happy to say that these will not compromise my ability to listen critically. After a few hours of using these monitors, I am very impressed with the detail, frequency response and most importantly the STEREO IMAGE of these little powerhouses.
The stereo image is very very three dimensional and has this mojo to it that I have never heard in another pair of speakers. And I have had the pleasure of listening on many systems, including genelecs, dynaudios, focals and even ATC 150s.
The top end is very detailed without sounding harsh, while the lows and low mids are very tight and punchy for a monitor of this size. Bass is very well defined. I used the 3db roll off because I actually felt that there was too much low end coming from these little guys! Crazy!
Another great feature is the fact that these mount directly onto a standard 3/8″ threaded mic stand. I bought two straight desktop mic stands to support the monitors and it works great for bringing them up to ear level, not to mention looking very cool.
In short, there is a reason for the hype and the fact that pro mixers like Dave Pensado and Tom Lord Alge have claimed to be comfortable working on these monitors. If you are in the market for a very compact monitor for travel or even general use, give these a shot. I’m glad I saved $300 and went with these over the Genelec 8010a!
I bought these to help me with creating mixes at home after seeing them recommended by Billy Sherwood of Yes. And they have helped me no end. An incredible amount of detail in the stereo picture with very detailed mid/highs and a satisfying low end from such tiny speakers. Really great product and have improved my mixes greatly.
Ive been looking for some micro monitors that I can tweak or edit without having to go to the studio, or without the fatigue of using headphones. these things are immense, the stereo image is great, the top end is accurate, the mids are warm without sounding boxy and the bottom end is tight to about 80hz, they are “Just enough” for a desk top music editor / idea creating kinda role, Im not sure id try to crack a mix out on them, but they are pretty up there. Very reminiscent of the Genelec 8010’s but for nearly half the cost. BUY THEM.
Great Speakers
Great Speakers with decent bass. They are nice alternative to my main set up that has a sub.
Oh – My – Gosh!!!!
These little speakers are freakin’ amazing! Do not let their small size fool you as they are true reference powerhouses. The low end is DEEP and surprisingly accurate in spite of their size. The mids are very balanced and highs are smooth and non-fatiguing. I would recommend them to anyone and they are a STEAL for the money. They make a great companion to my Genelec monitors and have already improved my mixes as a result. GET A PAIR – you will not be disappointed…
Excellent monitors. I admit I use them mainly with my TV and the sound is deep and powerful with a natural non fatiguing top end. The first time I used them in recording I realised how crap my mixes really were, which is what good monitors do
Great for portable music recording set-ups.
Great sound for such small units. Seem solidly built and the little stands to angle them up slightly is a nice touch. You don’t have to use these, but the option is there. Only complaints are a slightly short cable to join the 2 speakers which is not a standard cable to easily replace and a lack of instructions on what the various filter switches on the back do. I must admit I can’t hear any difference whichever ones I select, but then my ears are old and have years of abuse at loud concerts. In short, they are great for a portable setup to track with. I would still mix on larger units though. Really pleased with them.
These are really good. They disappear and the music becomes the focus. Focused stereo image, surprising bass, pleasant sound – maybe a touch flattering but very detailed and quite open for their size. They are clearly thoughtfully designed. You can follow the basslines in 808 heavy songs without any noticeable distortion. If you are thinking that a speaker like this could be a useful item, and you have the money just go for it.
These speakers sound great! I’ve had a pair of cube Auratone reference monitors for 30 yrs that still sound great but these iLouds are another level. Strong bass, crystal clear mids and highs. They are computer speakers on steroids! The pairing of inboard amp matched perfectly with the drivers makes sure you are getting great sound. They are Bluetooth capable too which I didn’t even notice at first because it isn’t stated loudly on the package. They aren’t inexpensive but neither are good microphones and guitars. If you can afford the price, you will be pleased. Luckily my girlfriend gave me mine for Christmas 🙂 Thank You Love!
Unbelievable sound from such small speakers! The engineering that went into these really paid off. Reminds me of the first time I heard a Bose cube speaker!
Bought these to replace a single Roland Cube that I had hooked up to an MOX6 workstation and have not been disappointed! The male RCAs (L&R) to male 1/8″ stereo cable is not shielded and I picked up a lot of noise. Do yourself a favor and get a certified low noise cable. I needed male 1/4″ for my outputs (L&R) to the 1/8″ stereo for my setup. Now, you only hear the noise if you are actually listening for it.
On my unit, the LED on the remote (right) speaker did not work. I just have to make sure the unit is turned off every time. Performance is unaffected. Also, the LF equalizer switch is not as smooth as the HF or DESK switch. I am considering asking for a replacement for the right speaker, only because I expected a perfect unit at this price point. IK Mulitimedia, if you’re listening, you can contact me through Amazon if I don’t contact you first. Overall, I would highly recommend these speakers and would not hesitate to buy them again. You will be amazed at what these things can pump out!
UPDATE: After working with IK Multimedia customer service, we discovered that the LED was supposed to be on the active/control speaker, not on the remote speaker. It appears that the LED faceplate was installed on the wrong speaker at the factory. IK Multimedia bent over backwards to make this right and I now own a pair of fully functional studio monitors. They have earned a loyal customer. Thanks, Dan L.!
