Bought this for basic office duties. Runs a 4k monitor and is really fit for basic office duties, including share point and word. Great build quality and plenty of ports. Very happy for 160.

Would recommend this as just like having a base computer or laptop

Mine came with a single Crucial 8GB RAM module, which isn’t ideal for performance but suits me fine because I actually wanted 16GB but didn’t have that option when buying. I can simply add a second 8GB module to the empty socket without wasting anything. The supplied SSD is a Western Digital NVMe.

Although the 4-core (8-thread) Ryzen 5 3450U processor is nominally rated with a 15 watt TDP the cooling is good enough for it out be able to run continuously at 30~35 watts when under a heavy load, with peaks over 40 watts. When idling it sips about 1.5 watts.

The CPU is on Microsoft’s Windows 11 compatibility list but the BIOS doesn’t have the option to enable secure boot or the fTPM so, as it stands, it won’t run Windows 11. Windows 10 Home Edition is supplied pre-installed and it works fine. Linux Mint works nicely on this unit.

The 500GB SSD came with two NTFS partitions: a smallish C: drive with Windows installed and and empty D: drive. After my initial tests I reinstalled Windows 10 into a single large partition and the valid licence key was recognised.

There’s space inside to mount a 2.5-inch SSD or hard drive if required and the appropriate cable is provided.

The graphics capability is excellent. It can support up to three 4k monitors at 60Hz, via the HDMI, DisplayPort and USB C connectors. It can play 4k H.264 and H.265 files without any problem.

The BIOS is pretty comprehensive and the fan profile is configurable but there’s no overclocking option for the CPU, integrated GPU or RAM, though you can adjust the effective TDP. This defaults to 35W but it can be lowered to 15W or raised to 45W, which is of more practical use than overclocking. RAM is treated as DDR4-2400 though mine came fitted with DDR4-3200.

Much smaller than I thought, it doesn’t have a wired network port, just wireless, if that is portent to you

So small – pic is of front and back.
Already had screen, bought wireless mouse and keyboard – perfect.
Works just fine. Hav installed MS Office. Not a gamer so can’t comment. Fine for other things so far.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat little machine ideal as a home server.

The MAIBENBEN Mini PC with the quad core Intel J4125 can handle many tasks, such as word processing, online browsing, video streaming, video conferencing (Skype, Zoom, etc..) just as good as more powerful and expensive devices can.
Just for kicks, I ran Cinebench 20 and got 495 pts…that is just a bit lower than a 5th generation Intel Core i5. It got 1285 pts in Cinebench r23 and 434 single-core /1355 multi-core in Geekbench.

The onboard storage is fast due to being an m.2 SATA SSD rather than the eMMC storage that many other brands use. That storage, the 8GB of RAM and the Celeron J4125 processor make this unit very responsive. It boots quickly and it multitasks quite well. The WiFi is also very solid. It also stays very cool for a mini pc. It tends to idle at around 31C and the highest I’ve seen it climb to is 42C, and this was for only a few seconds while watching a 1080P video. The system fan is also very quiet, and so quiet that I had to turn both my room fan and TV off and get very close to the unit to hear it running. All in all this is a fantastic mini PC. And though for my purposes it will be used both as a fun alternative to and a backup for my main desktop computer, it is most definitely a unit that is viable as a desktop replacement. It won’t be playing the latest video games of course, but as a home or even light office PC it is perfect.

If you’re looking for a good, basic Windows 10 Home PC, you can’t go wrong with this unit. This is not a super computer in my opinion, however it does very well as a mini pc and a second for your home. I do recommend this pc.

    Good basic windows computer!
