Recently got a switch and this was one the first games I got. The addition of Rabbids adds the funny factor and the story line is interesting.
The game is strategy based, which was a surprise but a welcome one. There are puzzle elements that really make you think and perks along the way.
I’ve had hours of fun playing this game. My only criticism would be that the levels and strategy tends to get a bit repetitive after a while (you end up doing the same moves over and over).
Overall, a definite buy and something different on the market.

Great game! Lots of fun, easy to play and the Rabbids are hilarious! Not a huge challenge, but as a way of passing the hours when waiting for your newborn to chill out and sleep it’s just what I need in the wee small hours.

Ok for a cheap game
Cheaper than I found anywhere else, my son had got all his stars on his reward chart, so I bought him this and by the next day it had arrived.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a strategy game similar to that of XCOM. However, unlike XCOM, it is more about clever movement than hit chance & luck. I genuinely prefer this game over XCOM. And to have it on the Switch so I can take it on the go is even more of a blessing.

had a lot of fun playing this with my significant other, we hold one half of the controller each and play together that way.
Its mayhem, humour, animated combat and strategy with a cute yet startling complex stragegy.
The concept is take two game worlds, combine them into a straightforward turn based , exploring with elements of role playing , combat game and it works so well.
I love the comments, and actions which cater for us of the older persuasion, yet with the fun and cute characters and effects for younger ones.
Later levels are surprisingly tricky and take a bit of time.
Then take the multiplayer and its “Worms” for the current era , as you can use all the weapons and abilites to maneouver to the right position and unleash pixel power to maxium effect.
Fun little game
I’m not sure if I should be writing a review with the amount of time I’ve put into the game (Not long) but after the 3 hours I’ve put into it, I can already tell I’m going to enjoy it all the way through. Graphics are fantastic as well.
Ridiculously addictive
Accidentally clicked the buy with one click button on here but it was the best mistake i’ve done in ages. Absolutely addictive. Loved the old style turn based rpg games and this is basically mario’s version of it. Loads of skills to unlock and loads of hidden extras. Brilliant game
I’ve got to say this was an apprehensive purchase, I’m not a huge fan of Rabbids, they exuded a feel of DreamWorks’ minion characters which I find overzealous, immature and irritating to say the least. I took the plunge far after release date whilst craving some Fire Emblem esque strategical action and, in all honesty, I’m pleasantly surprised. The story is insignificant, something you’d expect from a standard Mario title, but the gameplay is deeper and more cerebral than I would’ve expected. The addition of the Rabbids to the mix actually serves to be quite endearing, the regular inclusions of their mishaps are entertaining and at points include comical references to Mario franchises in the form of set pieces and characters which are well appreciated. Hats off to the oft criticised Ubisoft for making a game that feels almost akin to a first-party Nintendo game.
Quality all round...
Superb, I really hope there’s a sequel as this game was a joy from beginning to end. if you like strategy games this won’t disappoint. Think along the lines of X-Com but better and more playable.
While I love Breath of the Wild and Odyssey, this is almost my fav Switch game just because I wasn’t expecting as much from this game as the others.
If you’re on the fence on this one, just get it. Can’t wait for the storyline DLC…

Amazing game! Not what I expected but I definitely enjoyed what I got. This turn based strategy game never gets boring and always keeps you excited. The rabbids, although annoying at times, have been very funny so far. Not your typical Mario game!

Great Game and possibly the best game on the Switch. Feels more of a traditional Nintendo game than Super Mario Odyssey in my opinion and Ubisoft made a classic here. Hope they make a sequel!

Amazing mixup of Mario and Rabbids
Ridiculously addictive. Gorgeous visuals. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this title, as previous Rabbids games have been a bit hit or miss. This one is a definite hit.

Surprisingly amazing!
I had no idea what this game was about. Had a quick google. Soon discovered it’s like Xcom Mario edition lol. Considering I got this with my Switch Lightning deal I am over the moon and a pleasant surprise. It’s a game I am enjoying that I would of probably never looked at had I not of gotten it with my bundle.

I bought this game with pretty low expectations, but it’s actually really good. It’s fast paced, and when you beat a battle it’s really rewarding.
Extremely fun game
This game is awesome. It’s beautifully animated and tactical battles combined with exploration of the mushroom kingdom is a blast. As others have noted, the amalgamation of Mario and Rabbids seems like a dumb concept but it works more than great. Highly addictive and highly recommended.

A fun game, great way to spend a boring train trip.
Unexpected brilliance
Brilliant game combining an x-com style combat system with the Mario and rabbids universe. Good longevity and difficulty too keeps it interesting. Some of the exploring can be a little repetitive but the combat is excellent.
This is a nice surprise that exceeded my expectations. I brought it as I needed a new switch game and thought being Mario it must be a certain standard. It’s a very well made X com style turn based game. There’s great attention to detail and it’s well polished.

Absolutely love this game! Took me a little over 40 hours to 100% with all of the collectibles and challenges. The game has a good sense of humour and there are some real stand-out moments in the story. Don’t let the rabbids put you off – if anything, they really add to the enjoyment!

Really good fun game for the Nintendo Switch. The delivery was prompt, but I do have Prime.
Brilliant game in every way. I’m told there is a DLC due, though doubt it’s a free one.
This is very much on the lines of worms 3D meets Mario. Only the worms are Rabbids which are just as comical as ever.
There’s your typical collectibles and hidden levels, not to mention the weapons shop/upgrades.
Thee only slight downside is the faffing about back and forwards between zones which can be teleport to if needed.
Basically, if you have a Nintendo Switch then you need this game in your life.
Very happy with this! New franchises that become successful are so rare these days and this is going to be a big hit! It’s lots of fun and I can think of many ways future games of the franchise can be even better! Please keep it funny! I love that!

XCOM: Mario Editio
XCOM, but with Mario? Sold! Nobody has captured the charm and majesty of the Mushroom Kingdom quite like this before. An essential purchase for fans of Mario and strategy.
This game is one of the best I have played in a long time. Challenging, fun and great feeling when you smash it. I thought this would be the game I liked least but it is so easy to get into. It is a good brain workout as you have to use tactics and strategy to do well. Totally recommend this game and the Switch in general.
So much fun & challenging too. You have to really think about what characters will work best in each battle. You aquire coins by collecting them as you navigate round the levels and you’re awarded them for completing battles – more the better you do. You spend the coins on improving your team’s weapons. You also collect orbs that you use to fill your characters skill tree. It really pays to get the skill tree right and adjust it for different battles. eg. More weapon power from above or added movement, or skill recovery time etc. I’ve completed the main game now but I’m still enjoying the challenges that open up after completing each land.
An essential game for your switch library
What a charming, delightful game. The comedy in this is great with all the characters showing great facial expressions and good timing from the animators on gags. The gameplay is surprisingly deep and extremely satisfying when you master it. The closest comparison in gameplay to this game would be the XCOM series however there is greater emphasis on movement and no random spawns making this a great experience with no added frustration. I thought this game was short but I reached a 40 hour completion time in a few weeks, it felt short as I couldn’t put it down! a must buy for the switch.

The game is fun and charming and just challenging enough.
It looks great, plays great, has plenty for you to do, to upgrade. The game has a lot of personality and it’s fun to watch the characters interact in cut scenes.

I can’t get enough of this game. It’s perfect for a commute and has a lot of replayability to it. Buy it now as a warm up to Oddessey! Mama Mia!

Great fun game, though a bit simple. Visual graphics are fantastic and the merge of two groups of characters shouldn’t work but surprisingly does work.

The combination of RABBIDS humour ( the funniest yet!! ), iconic Nintendo characters, and a surprisingly deep strategy-challenge, make for hour upon hour of almost unique FUN!!
Explore, explore again, then explore some more, because there’s so much to discover in terms of, weapons, “treasures”, artwork, models, sound-files, and secrets…… AND, some of the best, side-splitting, moments you’ll ever see!!
This is a wonderful achievement by Ubisoft/Nintendo!! To (finally!!), take the potential of the Rabbid’s humour, make it REALLY funny, and place it in the Mushroom Kingdom, hand-in-hand with Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, etc, in a brilliant game where it proves to be completely at home!
I truly believe this will be looked back on, in years to come, as a contemporary “CLASSIC”!!

This is a game that shouldn’t work but it really does, I’m hooked and really have to nit pick at it for flaws.
About to sit a 9 hour flight and can’t wait to play more of this. Great difficulty curve so you always feel challenged.
World’s and music are superb, running around between battles and finding treasure is a real joy, as are the many little cut scenes.

Don’t let the rabbids introduction put you off this game, it certainly doesn’t feel like a rabbids game. This has made me like the rabbids, well done Unisoft!
It is fairly easy to begin with,the first world is basically one big tutorial with a challenging final boss if you’re going for the perfect scores. The difficulty certainly ramps up as the game goes on, I’m currently about to enter world 3 and this is my favourite switch game out at the moment.
Give this a go and you won’t be disappointed, keep the awesome games coming Nintendo! Video games are fun again!
What an absolute gem of a game.
Tthe turn based gameplay during the battles has some of the most enjoyable mechanics I’ve seen in a TBS for a long time, even more so than Disgaea, it’s more movement focused than shooting, tho there is a lot of that too, but it’s just great to watch well played plans play out and beat a map.
I’m a completest and so far having completed 3 of the 4 worlds all of which at 100%, I’ve spent around 20 hours so far, so it’s not a huge game, but certainly one I’ve loved ever minute so far.

Absolutely love this game. Great graphics, music and a brilliant Mario world. The gameplay is excellent, an absolute must buy for any strategy fans. Better than I thought it could be.

A Brilliant Mix That Shouldn't Work, But Definitely Does
Several years ago a strategy game was announced which fused Pokemon and Nobunaga’s Ambition. That was Pokemon Conquest, a game which I never thought would work but blew my mind.
Now Nintendo have worked with Ubisoft to create an XCom style Mario game. Yet again I had my doubts but the master of the unexpected have struck with another excellent game. The game is more colourful than most strategy games but don’t be fooled into thinking it will be too easy. They have eased back on the heavier tactical elements in order to make the gameplay much more accessible and fluid.
This game shouldn’t be ignored by veterans of tactical games, and for those who have not tried them before this could easily become a gateway into more.
Thanks to Nintendo and Ubisoft for that xCom like game ! The game is maybe a bit difficult for child. It is more for teenagers or adults.

Good Mario fun with new turn based way to play
Love this game, it combines all the classic fun mario elements with a new turn based way of playing similar to fire emblem and worms. Still has many hidden items and games as with all mario games and I’m really enjoying it. Love that you save the coins to buy better weapons and can upgrade characters
