Great little kit. It has everything a little minibeast hunter would need. Just remember to release your mini beasts because the container has no air holes! My 3 year old has loved studying creatures from the garden without having to be afraid they will jump at her. We’ve had a grasshopper, moth, and shield bug thus far.

A previously purchased bug kit made by a well known brand turned out to be extremely shoddily made and broke after only a couple of uses leaving my Grandson very disappointed. Wish I had seen this one first as it’s way better and has already had plenty of use. The booklet is useful too and the various items in the kit are easy for little hands to use. Will be purchasing a couple more as birthday gifts for other little bug fans in the family.

Exploring bugs
Bought for my 5 yr old granddaughter, she loves it and tries to catch everything. From an adults point of view we found the bug container quite hard to open ,she couldn’t do it herself, the magnifying lid was very good. I don’t think I would buy the same again. Quite a large box with not an awful lot in it.

This bug collecting is good but the parts can break easily. There are also some small parts that can get lost easily as well. I would suggest getting a bag for them. The manufacturer’s recommended age is 5 – 3 (Yes, that is what it says!). I think that it would probably work more for 6 plus as

Bought this for one of my twin grandsons while the other had a ladybird kit together with a powerful microscope. My Son loves this kit and hasn’t stopped playing with even though he received it for Christmas last year! I can’t say what my 5 year old twin nephews make of these yet as they’re currently wrapped and under my tree waiting for them, but they are very into nature and insects, so hopefully these will make fun and educational gifts for them.

Fantastic product! I am a nanny for three kids in London and for the past three summers they have taken their bug safaris to Malham. Hunting for bugs has become their favourite way to spend their days. The kids love finding their bugs then learning what they have found and other fun facts.
