I got this reolink and there is a up date on it and it will not up date and the cameras what came with it there are not 5mp camera there are D500 add on cameras I am not very happy I have been on amazon live chat for 4hrs
Nothing to dislike with this system.
The system itself is easy to set up, doesn’t take much knowledge of CCTV or anything else for that matter. It’s more plug and play than others i’ve seen before.
It can be hooked up to a TV so you can see the feed on there or a monitor if desired.
The image quality of the cameras that come with it are fantastic in light and not bad at night time, although they could be better. Many systems face this issue though – the night images are not the best.
It’s easy to copy files if you need footage or to play it back.
The large hard drive means footage stores for around 2 week with 4 cameras attached and it is very very straightforward to connect to your phone.
Any other Reolink cameras can also sync with this and the footage stored directly to the hard drive.

Looked for a camera system and after days of searching and comparing I decided to go with this product, installed the system and added 2 extra cameras to make 6 in total, the picture quality is brilliant, the sound is brilliant, the app is simple and easy to use, the software on tv is very good, not used motion detection because I don’t need it, this system is way above my expectations and nothing disappoints and I couldn’t ask for more, after 3 weeks the hard drive failed, emailed customer services explaining I would change the hard drive myself if they sent a replacement, they informed me that their uk warehouse had no stock and asked if I would purchase one off amazon and send the old one back and send them receipt, ordered one and the next day it arrived, swapped hard drive and everything worked, sent old one back and they refunded the cost of the hard drive within days, absolutely brilliant customer service, cannot fault, overall im very impressed with Reolink products and backup
So easy to install and setup. It gives great picture quality on all of my devices. The privacy shield feature is a great addition so I can block out where my camera may intrude on other peoples properties without compromising my security.
Brought these to update my home security. The picture quality is really really clear even after night with it’s night vision feature. I like the fact it has 4 cameras allows me to cover various angles of my house. In order to see the cameras footage I have it plugged into my computer so it looks a bit like the security you see at a shop lol. The only tricky part was the installation at first and sorting the wiring
I added an additional camera using a POE Switch rather than having to run another cable (I was replacing a old system so have existing POE cable runs). which works well. Nightvision can be a bit grainy but cameras very clear in daylight. Movement sensing is very responsive which can mean it activates too much at night (rain/bugs etc show up under IR LEDs) but I may just need to optimise the sensitivity. Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase.

Hard disk failed 3 days in. Reolink service I have to say was fantastic got a replacement hard disk
in no time emails answered within two hours bearing mind they are 8 hrs ahead on UK English

I bought this to replace my current system that was about 5 years old and cost around 1000, I have got to say this system is far superior.
It is easy to setup, i used my own CAT5 cable when i installed two of the four cameras due to the distance from the NVR but they do provide CAT5 cable with the kit.
Setting up the cameras on my phone was so easy .
The picture quality is very good (as was my previous) but the night vision is far better than my previous.
Overall I am very pleased with the kit and would recommend it to anyone, especially at the price, I have only had it up for a few weeks so couldn’t comment on how it weathers but get up to this point! five stars from me
The cameras are really good for picture quality and seem to be built to a good standard. The motion detection is however very poor. The littlest of movement seem to set it off, even with it set to low detection. The push notifications for a mobile device are very quick and reliable for when the camera does detect motion. The push email notifications are somewhat vague to set up and I have not been able to do this. I am happy with the push notifications on my phone though.
Really happy with the quality and pictures in night vision . Set up 5 cameras myself in a afternoon. 1 indoor and 4 around the outside of the house . So much better than my old system. Glad I upgraded

For the price I am very happy with the product, if I zoom in on my phone I can see car licence plates even at night, the app is great, the recordings are simple to review from the app on your phone and can be accessed wirelessly from anywhere, the motion detection is very sensitive, a little fly at night triggers it so I don’t bother with that function.
Easy to install, quick to set up. Hardest part was dragging wires through the attic.
Night vision is great, I can see which cat is using our garden as a litter tray and can return the gifts.
Great quality product/picture and easy to set up, however the RJ45 plug slows down the whole installation process due to its larger than necessary size, which is probably why they sell accessories at a high price to simplify this. If you are willing to use conduit and junction boxes you can get around this problem otherwise it means drilling a sizeable whole through your brickwork. If you’ve got a house then don’t consider installing these in the eaves facing down. All you will see is tops of heads and roofs of cars, if you can try to run cabling in line with the 1st floor. Had to get the NVR swapped out due to outdated software that wouldn’t upgrade, and still having issues around network connectivity. Technical support is very good and fast acting. For the money they are worth the hassle.
Great night vision and zone selectable motion detection. It comes with 5mp or 8mp cameras dependent on the preferences but the picture quality is great. Really recommended for this price
I am really pleased with the performance.
It was very easy to setup straightaway plug and play from the box. Picture quality is very good and motion detection area can be setup easily from the box. Night vision is black and white but still very clear. It does say viewing angle 90 deg. But actual camera is 65 deg. Also dnt forget to order outdoor cable for wiring as cable comes with the box is only intended to use indoor. App setup is very easy let you view all clips from the phone. Really pleased with the product and good value for the money. Also you might need junc box for each camera as there is no base in the camera to hide cables.
I am a Reolink and Lorex parter as well as a licenced CCTV operator, have used both companies during professional installs, I purchased this item on behalf of a customer and installed it for him. He needed a system that would simple for him to view at home with my being the system controller.
I highly recommend this NVR, the set up is extremely easy and once set up its super easy to use. Navigation menus are super simple and setting up and getting the system running is so easy.
The desktop client and android app are so easy to use as well as able to control a lot of the system with them.
The built in micophone was a great advantage for the customer, the auso is nice and clear.
Would recommend this product to both general public as well as professional installers.
One down side is the CAT5 cable that came with the system is of crap quality so recommend replacing with your own cable, I used custom lenght of CAT5E cables to cover the distance and there wasn’t any loss of quality compared to the ones that were in the box.
You can this system as stand alone from the internet but the app and client would not be useable, I found running a cable from a PoE switch to the internet in port meant that even if the WiFi went down you wouldn’t lose the system. You would lose the use of the client and the app though as that does need the router working.
We’ve been experiencing harassment from a neighbour for months and were advised by the police to install cctv. After much research I decided on the Reolink system. Although there are cheaper systems out there, this one seemed to tick all my boxes. We already have a Ring doorbell, but find wifi cameras are hit and miss, they often miss important events so I wanted a hardwired system. So glad I did. Within a week they picked up clear evidence that the police can use. They were very impressed by the clear images and excellent audio recording. Being able to view recordings and live events remotely from our phones is extremely reassuring too.
The fitting instructions were very clear and the software is so easy to use. I found the hardest part was fitting the rj45 plugs on the ethernet cable. I cut one off each cable in order to thread them through the holes in the walls. But there are plenty of youtube videos that show you how, I’ve never done it before, but managed it, only wasted a couple of plugs, but they supply a few. I was also impressed by the image quality at night, I had no idea how many badgers walk across our garden at night ! Downloading events to the pc is simple as well.
I would definitely highly recommend this system as I have to friends and family.
We bought 2 sets of 4k NVR with 8 Cameras and installed at our business premises. Super quality. Even at night. Very easy to install. The only problem is that included 2TB hdd is nowhere near enough for 8 4k cameras anyway it can be upgraded.
We bought as we are moving out of our property whilst building work is being completed and wanted additional security of a night time.
He cameras are easy to install. We managed to do all four in about two hours. The instructions in he box are limited, but the reolink website and the app have loads of faqs and hints to install.
The images are good. We don’t have a huge property but the image is good to the back fence and edge of front garden.
The viewing software is also really friendly and you don’t need to spend ages setting it all up.
The andriod app is also really good and it is nice to be able to view he camera output whilst out and about.
I did have an issue with only being able to see 3 of the 4 cameras on the NVR, but all 4 on the app.
I spoke to Ivy at reolink and my problem was resolved in a few hours which was great. (thanks Ivy).
Top class item! Easy to install and set up. Being a PoE system you don’t need to find extra sockets to power the cameras, excellent picture quality for the price of the unit.
So many features you can set up for notifications, the app is also fist class & simple to set up and use.

Awesome CCTV setup… Ball ache to install as I also had to purchase an SDS drill to get through concrete so I could run the cables inside, but once it was up and installed its works perfectly.. I am running the cameras at 2560×1440 1440p which is around 2.4K and the image is awesome, even at night in IR mode.. I have never installed a kit like this before, so would be very much on the amateur end of things, but I do work in IT which is why I found the SMTP email alerts and FTP parts easy to configure.. NVR gets nicked?, no problem, FTP to an offsite backup and your footage is safe and sound…
I needed CCTV within a modest budget an PoE cameras are ideal due to my wish to avoid conventional BNC couplings. The image quality is great, night vision excellent, and the small box sits neatly under our TV, with an HDMI output to the TV. It has a really good user interface on the software, I was able to configure it in minutes and can view the cameras either on my TV from the comfort of my armchair or remotely via my phone. Am overall very impressed. I binned some of the supplied cables as at 18m each they were a bit short for my needs, but bought 100m of Cat 6 cable, some connectors and a crimping kit/cable tester off Amazon to make up my own to solve that issue. Really pleased with what I’ve got at the price.

Fairly easy installation, loads of youtube videos and easy set up, very impressive pictures, full hd,1080 only been fitted for a couple of months so can’t vouch for its longevity but with a few extras, junction boxes, clips etc cost me less than 500 a third of what a neighbour paid for a 2 camera lower quality system, would definitely recommend
Bought this for my home after my mate recommended this system.
I am happy with this system however……each camera comes with 18 meters of network cable. The cable supplied is not outside cable. I needed to run the camera cable around the top of my house and could not do so with this indoor cable. Luckily I had access to high quality outside network cable so did not use the one supplied.
So if you are planning on keeping the cable outside, buy better quality cable or you will have to replace the cheap supplied one in 5 years time.
That aside, the amount of settings to get the system set up to your requirements is awesome. Really good and the app is also brilliant.
First off this is a great system, set the cameras to max and no issues picking up number plates in the street. Expandable to 8 cameras. It’s basically plug and play but a few niggles. The enclosed instructions are rubbish, no description of how to operate/adjust/playback….u have to go looking for this info, not a deal breaker. Biggest issue for some people will be fitting the system. Obviously the camera’s need to be up high, you need adequate ladders. Secondly, in the UK, u will need to drill a sizeable hole/holes through cavity brick walls. I needed an sds drill to achieve this, not that easy at 25 feet on a ladder. Back to the good points, it’s a great system for the price, just plan your installation beforehand and make sure you can get the right tools, forgot to say I connected my system to a WiFi extender, worked great. Very pleased with purchase
I obtained a complete camera and recorder system direct from Reolink and it arrived quickly. It worked beautifully straight out of the box and produced a great clear picture both day and night
I added additional cameras into the system and since we run it 24/7 and so the Recorder storage shortened. Based on Reolink advice it was easy to increase the storage to all good thanks
I have had experience with much more expensive systems, and this one actually seems better than those. Set up was quick incredibly easy, even the online portion. The app is superb and very easy to use – we use it for everything instead of the interface on the actual unit. Picture quality is also great, day or night even when zoomed into a tiny portion of the screen. Only slight quibble is the motion detection, which you can adjust sensitivity and area, but I found myself getting notifications every time a leaf blew by or raindrop fell, so perhaps not as useful as you might think, although we can hardly blame the manufacturer for this, and it is still useful to help you find activity on playback. The infrared has a fairly impressive through at night, and the large red lights on the units offer a deterrent to those prowling for a soft target.
Overall it is an excellent system for peace of mind, and has also come in handy for various scenarios not security related.
Purchased this camera set for my home, absolutely above and beyond what i expected, easy to install and clear, crisp image day or night. I had an isssue with the nvr (the ethernet ports not working) but reolink customer service were excellent and sent me another nvr.

I bought this to allow me to keep tabs on the home. I have cameras outside the house and in the garage and they are working a treat. I have had an issue with a camera but the customer service has been amazing and it has been replaced without any issues. The system works well, its a good zoom, clear during the day, the night vision works well, with a couple of strategic angles the whole garden is lit up and you can see everything. I am truly happy with this purchase and the system has worked well over the last couple of years that i have had it in use.
This is a great kit. Iv had a few over the last few years and after trying battery powered and wifi variations i splashed out on this kit when it was on offer.
Picture quality is really good and the quality for zooming in is even better.

The picture quality is decent, motion sensors work a treat, night vision is cool too. On top of that the setup is fairly simple and the software that comes with it is quite good! No issues after one week of installing so far. All in all a “good purchase” I would say!

After trolling through many reviews and Youtube videos I decided to purchase this Reolink 5mp poe nvr system. You’d swear from the last sentence with the acronym that I was some sort of expert, well I’m not. This whole system worked out even better than I expected. The quality of the video is outstanding which is important but what was more important to me was the ease of setup. Its literally plug in the cameras to you nvr , connect the nvr to the router and your cameras are live. If it had been technically difficult to set up I’d have to pay somene to install .I wanted to set up my recorder (nvr) and run my cameras from my garage which is a seperate building from where my router is and I sucessfully had the whole system up and running with a tp link . Great system. Couldn’t recommend it high enough. One small thing is the 4 no. 18 meter cabels of cat 5 could be a higher quality but as none of my cables run outside the worked fine
The camera is very good, easy to install and set up. Motion detect is fast sending to emails. Looks great and dose a fantastic job, sound quality is brilliant.
The IR night vision is fantastic. the LEDs throw out so much light they are like invisible floodlights. The Reolink app is easy to use. I have mine setup to record motion only and it looks to hold approximately 2 months of video on that setting but im sure this would vary depending on how many times it detects motion at each location.
One camera had a slight haze/condensation in the lens when it was turned on for the first time, I contacted reolink and they replaced it before I sent the faulty camera back. I returned the faulty camera in the packaging for the replacement. very happy with their customer service.

I waited to leave my review after using this system for nearly 3 weeks. This system is an easy to install and operate with a great picture clarity (live in light). Night vision range is very limited to 5 meter range for a good picture, not the range being claimed on the specifications. Over all I am very pleased with the system and would highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a good CCTV for domestic or office use.
These cameras are very good, easy to fit yourself and set up. The picture is good. The recording is good. The app could be better it doesn’t allow fast forward playback, so like x2, x3, x4 etc
The POE works well so would recommend these cameras for sure. The fittings are good and angle is wide.
As DIY cameras these are perfect. Also Reolink support is good, from the experience I have had thus far.
Blown away by the quality of this system for the money. Picture crystal clear. Can watch live or playback on mobile device even if away from home. 5mp camera system like this is usually 900 + installed but I bought some cable (outdoor) and crimped ends myself… really good. Well recommended.
Highly recommend this camera system. Picture quality is excellent both day and night vision. Motion detection is probably a bit sensitive but that could just be down to myself not using it accurately. Customer service is second to none. Easy to install (Any issues I had were down to my poor crimping). System setup is easy (I have some cameras direct to the NVR and some to a separate POE switch on my network and the NVR treats them as the same).

I purchased this system to replace an older system we’ve had for the last 10 years. I’m going to keep this brief and get straight to the points. I found day vision amazing, night vision very clear, bonus is there is audio within the cameras that records and plays back direct on the phone app. Set up was simple, complete plug and play Plus iPhone app for playback and mobile recording. Installation was simple, even for somebody that knows very little about these type of things like myself. Support from Reolink is 2nd to none! A very easy plug and play system to install. Very good daytime vision. Night vision doesn’t quite extend to 100ft unless you are in a brightly lit area. Motion detection is basic (frame pixel to frame pixel comparison). Windy weather and moving plants constantly trigger the motion detection, along with steam from vents and rain etc. Could do with smart/AI/machine learning motion detection. Still, overall, the kit represents good value for money.

I’ve heard you can view these cameras on a Google nest hub max if you connect the cameras directly to your router, but if you use the ivr it won’t work. These would be perfect if it would work through the Ivr.
Stunning CCTV with a fantastic picture and great software. Shame it doesnt work with alexa just yet.

Bought this to replace an aged set up, several years old. After trawling through listings and reviews this seemed to fit the bill and was bought black Friday week so price was very good for an 5MP complete system. Very easy PoE camera set up. Software easy to navigate with plenty of settings. Email alert set up was more challenging. Contacted Reolink support and they responded within a few hours. They advised things to try which I had researched myself previously. Updated firmware and after reboot the NVR picked up a new I. P config, (it previously picked up the previous CCTV I. P) now receiving the test email alerts. Two cameras installed last weekend and will do other two this weekend. Really pleased with this system and would buy another. Night vision pictures to follow.

I set it up quickly to test it and everything worked straight out of the box – had an initial problem naming the individual cameras – turned out to be my fault calling two cameras by the same name ! Other than that all OK.
Installation was more time consuming but due to the geometry of my house rather than a product issue.
I located the DVR in a spare bedroom and then had to route a network cable and 4 camera cables through the ceiling and across the loft but after 4 hours of sweaty crawling around the loft space all cables terminated – cameras then connected and functioning.
Software is very accomodating – and you can programme each camera independently to record on time or motion ( or both).
Simple grid arrangement allows for setting specific areas to monitor for motion – so you can eliminate people or cars going past the front of the house, for instance – but have the recording switch on if someone walks up the drive.
It is possible to have remote warnings sent your phone and also possible to view the cameras remotely on the phone – but I have not bothered with this, yet, just happy to have a record on disk – play back of recordings is easy and tools allow you to skip through to particular times, or just show all recorded movements on all ,or single, cameras.
Have only had the system operating for a week but so far – so good, and on the basis of this, admittedly limited, experience I would happily recommend the system.
Works really. Good answers to question from the reolink community, shame the company dint supply better instruction with the kit, but eady enough to set up. The interface is a little difficult to use also needs better instruction a with it and the UI needs updating
This is a really good system. My friend installed it and said it was pretty simple plug and play install. I bought a small monitor separately for the nvr (as I don’t use a pc) as it makes set up easier than doing it on the iPad.
Picture quality, sound and playback is excellent. The nvr seems to record about 10 days worth of 4K continuous recording on the 4 cameras which is good. The ease of use of the app is also superb. I’d definitely highly recommend this system.
Purchased this back in may replacing a old analogue system. Very good quality both cameras and nvr everything included. Install and setup really easy phone app very easy to setup. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good reliable system.
I’ve got 5 cameras of my own, but purchased this for my parents. Very impressed by the nvr. I’ve got several cameras directly connected via cat5 into the back sockets, but another via a PoE powerline (as at end of garden on the garage), and the unit just detects it. Set most of this up via the iOS app, but then did some of it via the embedded web browser (as unit is in the loft, and can’t be bothered to hook it to a monitor !). Very impressed so far.
Ordered this system on a Friday , was delivered on the Sunday ( excellent service)
Took approx. 5 hours to run the PoE cables due to difficult access.
Followed easy start up instructions and was up and running 5 hours in.
Picture quality is perfect day and night vision.
Downloaded app for phone, took less that 5 mins to have pictures streamed direct to phone as well.

Great system, cabling can be time consuming depending how well you want to hide them but they are straight forward connections. desktop and Android apps are great as well as remote viewing and advanced options. However Motion detection goes off all day non stop: slightest bit of wind. Movement of Shadows caused by the clouds and trees etc.
One plus point is that Reolink support have been fantastic. Instant replies to emails always with a suggested fix.
I installed all four cameras externally but this was made more difficult than necessary by the captive tri-cable attached to the camera. It would be much easier if you could terminate the ethernet cable directly at the camera so that all routing penetrations could be limited to around 6mm.
Very happy with picture quality although night vision is poor for moving objects due to blurring.
Overall, I would recommend.
I held off upgrading our system and was tempted by some of the cheaper products, but we went for 5mp cameras and we’re not disappointed. Easy POE set-up to some of our existing cabling, instant recognition through their app so I can monitor away from the office. Lots of settings to get used to, but lots of info online and the techinical support came back to me very quickly when I messed up my login. We received 4 dome cameras with this and a 2TB disc. Easy to assemble and fix to walls/celiings. Plus you can monitor the angle with the phone app in your hand rather than calling down to someone looking at a screen! Some glare from nigh vision against our glass entrance but snapshots of movement emailed to me as and when I choose means I can rest easy at weekends when the office isn’t attended. We will be adding the remaining 4 soon. Very pleased overall.
These are brilliant cameras in my opinion. They are coloured night vision as long as there some sort of lights available. I have outdoor hive light bulbs fitted which give enough light on 50% for cameras to record in colour night mode. After searching for over a year this set installed by my self quickly and easily without any issues. Advice to create an new Google email account only to use with this as you will get so many alerts. I’m really impressed with quality of these cameras. Will upload few pic in few days.
Probably one of the best cctv camera systems i have used. a real good day time and nighttime picture quality with added bonus of a MIC built in. I have looked at other cctv systems and they dont offer everything reolink offers at this price point, their customer service isnt too bad either as they seem to reply back within 24hrs with a resolution if you email them via their website.

Very solidly built and the quality of the picture is spectacular.
I use iPhone app and also use the PC and MAC apps to view the NVR from “proper” computers that I have. The system is located in my loft with 8 camera connected to it, 6 directly connected to the NVR and two across my LAN. The system recognises the LAN based cameras immediatly.
Extremely impressive. A system such as this a few years ago would have cost many thousands. It is amazing how far technology has advanced to bring this quality of system to the home user.
The system is very easy to set up and install. The app helps to make the camera installation easy as the remote view aids in setting the camera position, cameras are 5MP with giv e very sharp and clear images while reviewing images. The system menus are easy to navigate with added features to save hard drive storage space. Best to spend a little time planning where you’d place cameras and the route of the cables to the DVR and the installation was very easy. Very impressed with the entire system and would highly recommend.

I waited quite a while before upgraing my cctv system. It had to fulfill several criteria, such as 1080p HD or better picture quality. IP camera with PoE capability to ease the installation. Viewable on all platforms, and multiple camera system for up to 8 cameras.
The price had to be right too.
The picture is excellent as can be seen in the attached pic. Facial recognition should not be an issue with this system, Which is good as it is the fundamental reason for purchase.
Night vision is also excellent.
The installation could not be easier. Plug and play at it’s best, and very simple to set up for viewing on the phone app. The software just found the feeds through the wifi network and worked it out all by itself.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of build too, they seem to be built to last.
There are cheaper systems available but they all compromise usually on picture quality.
This system is no compromise and yet was still a very reasonable price for a bepoke system to my specification.
I aim to install a zoom type camera to pick up no. plates on the street and also internal cameras, however I recently learned that Reolink are bringing out a wifi camera to the market, which would be ideal for internal work without the necessity to damage decoration during cable installation.
Reolink, It’s a thumbs up from me.
Having easily set this up, I say it was easy basically because of the poe. The physical setup is the most difficult due to the way the camera is mounted. First you fix the back plate to your wall remembering to have the cable through it. This means the eyeball camera is hanging until you clip it into the back plate. If the surface isn’t flat this can be difficult, especially up a ladder. I think a grub screw system would be better. I have white walls which confuses the inferred system. No real issue though I just had to face the camera away from the wall a little. Setting up the application is as easy as pie, with great features and screen quality. Just click on a bar scan. Searching playback could be better, as I cannot find a way of speeding it up. The quality of the camera feels second to none, being cast metal(Aluminum I think). Picture quality is very good and clear, even at night. It makes a great security system.
Excellent kit, easy to install ,easy to set up due to Poe (power over ethernet) cables. You can show the cameras on your TV or mobile phone via the app. Theres is loads of help via the web site to reolink which is linked to the app
Reolink, a little unknown brand, offers the best CCTV system in the market! If you are after traditional 24×7 CCTV setup then this is the product you want to buy. The cameras are superb, they are 5MP, 2560×1920 pixels (that’s 2.4x full HD), with high gain microphone for high fidelity audio recording as well, 18pcs infraled LEDS provide 100 feet night vision. Each camera also has an microSD card slow, so there’s a backup of your recent recording in case your NVR is stolen or damaged.
The system is super easy to install, the recorder is an NVR (Network Video Recorder) so everything is processed at the high end cameras which use PoE (Power Over Ethernet), so audio, video and power is all taken care of by a single cable to the camera. The kit comes with 18m cable for each camera. You can easy extend this by buying a RJ45 Coupler for a few quid and some extra cable. As it is an NVR, you can live stream or playback recording over the internet to your mobile phone, Windows PC or Mac. The software is brilliant and you can use the mobile app to configure the system completely. No need for clunky interface as with all other CCTV systems. You can switch the livestream to lower quality if your internet speed is low so you can always see your cameras live.
I’m not comparing this with the likes of Nest, Ring, Arlo and other smart home video monitors. They are pricey, require hefty subscription fees for cloud recording but do offer simplicity and decent quality, but altogether are a different kettle of fish IMO so I don’t think it’s fair comparison to make.
Reolink are constantly updating and improving their software. They are going to offering support for cloud recording which will make this kit even better!

I got this reolink and there is a up date on it and it will not up date and the cameras what came with it there are not 5mp camera there are D500 add on cameras I am not very happy I have been on amazon live chat for 4hrs
Set up was just so easy. I had another make from Amazon A***e, absolutely awful. So unreliable.
This worked from the minute I plugged it in. Faultless.
The system itself is easy to set up, doesn’t take much knowledge of CCTV or anything else for that matter. It’s more plug and play than others i’ve seen before.
It can be hooked up to a TV so you can see the feed on there or a monitor if desired.
The image quality of the cameras that come with it are fantastic in light and not bad at night time, although they could be better. Many systems face this issue though – the night images are not the best.
It’s easy to copy files if you need footage or to play it back.
The large hard drive means footage stores for around 2 week with 4 cameras attached and it is very very straightforward to connect to your phone.
Any other Reolink cameras can also sync with this and the footage stored directly to the hard drive.

Looked for a camera system and after days of searching and comparing I decided to go with this product, installed the system and added 2 extra cameras to make 6 in total, the picture quality is brilliant, the sound is brilliant, the app is simple and easy to use, the software on tv is very good, not used motion detection because I don’t need it, this system is way above my expectations and nothing disappoints and I couldn’t ask for more, after 3 weeks the hard drive failed, emailed customer services explaining I would change the hard drive myself if they sent a replacement, they informed me that their uk warehouse had no stock and asked if I would purchase one off amazon and send the old one back and send them receipt, ordered one and the next day it arrived, swapped hard drive and everything worked, sent old one back and they refunded the cost of the hard drive within days, absolutely brilliant customer service, cannot fault, overall im very impressed with Reolink products and backup
So easy to install and setup. It gives great picture quality on all of my devices. The privacy shield feature is a great addition so I can block out where my camera may intrude on other peoples properties without compromising my security.

Brought these to update my home security. The picture quality is really really clear even after night with it’s night vision feature. I like the fact it has 4 cameras allows me to cover various angles of my house. In order to see the cameras footage I have it plugged into my computer so it looks a bit like the security you see at a shop lol. The only tricky part was the installation at first and sorting the wiring
I added an additional camera using a POE Switch rather than having to run another cable (I was replacing a old system so have existing POE cable runs). which works well. Nightvision can be a bit grainy but cameras very clear in daylight. Movement sensing is very responsive which can mean it activates too much at night (rain/bugs etc show up under IR LEDs) but I may just need to optimise the sensitivity. Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase.

I bought this to replace my current system that was about 5 years old and cost around 1000, I have got to say this system is far superior.
It is easy to setup, i used my own CAT5 cable when i installed two of the four cameras due to the distance from the NVR but they do provide CAT5 cable with the kit.
Setting up the cameras on my phone was so easy .
The picture quality is very good (as was my previous) but the night vision is far better than my previous.
Overall I am very pleased with the kit and would recommend it to anyone, especially at the price, I have only had it up for a few weeks so couldn’t comment on how it weathers but get up to this point! five stars from me
The cameras are really good for picture quality and seem to be built to a good standard. The motion detection is however very poor. The littlest of movement seem to set it off, even with it set to low detection. The push notifications for a mobile device are very quick and reliable for when the camera does detect motion. The push email notifications are somewhat vague to set up and I have not been able to do this. I am happy with the push notifications on my phone though.
Really happy with the quality and pictures in night vision . Set up 5 cameras myself in a afternoon. 1 indoor and 4 around the outside of the house . So much better than my old system. Glad I upgraded

It was super easy to install.
The cameras are not very wide angled hence you have to be quite specific about where they point. But its ok.
For the price I am very happy with the product, if I zoom in on my phone I can see car licence plates even at night, the app is great, the recordings are simple to review from the app on your phone and can be accessed wirelessly from anywhere, the motion detection is very sensitive, a little fly at night triggers it so I don’t bother with that function.
Easy to install, quick to set up. Hardest part was dragging wires through the attic.
Night vision is great, I can see which cat is using our garden as a litter tray and can return the gifts.
Great quality product/picture and easy to set up, however the RJ45 plug slows down the whole installation process due to its larger than necessary size, which is probably why they sell accessories at a high price to simplify this. If you are willing to use conduit and junction boxes you can get around this problem otherwise it means drilling a sizeable whole through your brickwork. If you’ve got a house then don’t consider installing these in the eaves facing down. All you will see is tops of heads and roofs of cars, if you can try to run cabling in line with the 1st floor. Had to get the NVR swapped out due to outdated software that wouldn’t upgrade, and still having issues around network connectivity. Technical support is very good and fast acting. For the money they are worth the hassle.

It was very easy to setup straightaway plug and play from the box. Picture quality is very good and motion detection area can be setup easily from the box. Night vision is black and white but still very clear. It does say viewing angle 90 deg. But actual camera is 65 deg. Also dnt forget to order outdoor cable for wiring as cable comes with the box is only intended to use indoor. App setup is very easy let you view all clips from the phone. Really pleased with the product and good value for the money. Also you might need junc box for each camera as there is no base in the camera to hide cables.
I am a Reolink and Lorex parter as well as a licenced CCTV operator, have used both companies during professional installs, I purchased this item on behalf of a customer and installed it for him. He needed a system that would simple for him to view at home with my being the system controller.
I highly recommend this NVR, the set up is extremely easy and once set up its super easy to use. Navigation menus are super simple and setting up and getting the system running is so easy.
The desktop client and android app are so easy to use as well as able to control a lot of the system with them.
The built in micophone was a great advantage for the customer, the auso is nice and clear.
Would recommend this product to both general public as well as professional installers.
One down side is the CAT5 cable that came with the system is of crap quality so recommend replacing with your own cable, I used custom lenght of CAT5E cables to cover the distance and there wasn’t any loss of quality compared to the ones that were in the box.
You can this system as stand alone from the internet but the app and client would not be useable, I found running a cable from a PoE switch to the internet in port meant that even if the WiFi went down you wouldn’t lose the system. You would lose the use of the client and the app though as that does need the router working.
We’ve been experiencing harassment from a neighbour for months and were advised by the police to install cctv. After much research I decided on the Reolink system. Although there are cheaper systems out there, this one seemed to tick all my boxes. We already have a Ring doorbell, but find wifi cameras are hit and miss, they often miss important events so I wanted a hardwired system. So glad I did. Within a week they picked up clear evidence that the police can use. They were very impressed by the clear images and excellent audio recording. Being able to view recordings and live events remotely from our phones is extremely reassuring too.
The fitting instructions were very clear and the software is so easy to use. I found the hardest part was fitting the rj45 plugs on the ethernet cable. I cut one off each cable in order to thread them through the holes in the walls. But there are plenty of youtube videos that show you how, I’ve never done it before, but managed it, only wasted a couple of plugs, but they supply a few. I was also impressed by the image quality at night, I had no idea how many badgers walk across our garden at night ! Downloading events to the pc is simple as well.
I would definitely highly recommend this system as I have to friends and family.

We bought 2 sets of 4k NVR with 8 Cameras and installed at our business premises. Super quality. Even at night. Very easy to install. The only problem is that included 2TB hdd is nowhere near enough for 8 4k cameras anyway it can be upgraded.

We bought as we are moving out of our property whilst building work is being completed and wanted additional security of a night time.
He cameras are easy to install. We managed to do all four in about two hours. The instructions in he box are limited, but the reolink website and the app have loads of faqs and hints to install.
The images are good. We don’t have a huge property but the image is good to the back fence and edge of front garden.
The viewing software is also really friendly and you don’t need to spend ages setting it all up.
The andriod app is also really good and it is nice to be able to view he camera output whilst out and about.
I did have an issue with only being able to see 3 of the 4 cameras on the NVR, but all 4 on the app.
I spoke to Ivy at reolink and my problem was resolved in a few hours which was great. (thanks Ivy).
Id recommend this camera system to everyone.
Top class item! Easy to install and set up. Being a PoE system you don’t need to find extra sockets to power the cameras, excellent picture quality for the price of the unit.

Awesome CCTV setup… Ball ache to install as I also had to purchase an SDS drill to get through concrete so I could run the cables inside, but once it was up and installed its works perfectly.. I am running the cameras at 2560×1440 1440p which is around 2.4K and the image is awesome, even at night in IR mode.. I have never installed a kit like this before, so would be very much on the amateur end of things, but I do work in IT which is why I found the SMTP email alerts and FTP parts easy to configure.. NVR gets nicked?, no problem, FTP to an offsite backup and your footage is safe and sound…
I needed CCTV within a modest budget an PoE cameras are ideal due to my wish to avoid conventional BNC couplings. The image quality is great, night vision excellent, and the small box sits neatly under our TV, with an HDMI output to the TV. It has a really good user interface on the software, I was able to configure it in minutes and can view the cameras either on my TV from the comfort of my armchair or remotely via my phone. Am overall very impressed. I binned some of the supplied cables as at 18m each they were a bit short for my needs, but bought 100m of Cat 6 cable, some connectors and a crimping kit/cable tester off Amazon to make up my own to solve that issue. Really pleased with what I’ve got at the price.

Fairly easy installation, loads of youtube videos and easy set up, very impressive pictures, full hd,1080 only been fitted for a couple of months so can’t vouch for its longevity but with a few extras, junction boxes, clips etc cost me less than 500 a third of what a neighbour paid for a 2 camera lower quality system, would definitely recommend
Bought this for my home after my mate recommended this system.
I am happy with this system however……each camera comes with 18 meters of network cable. The cable supplied is not outside cable. I needed to run the camera cable around the top of my house and could not do so with this indoor cable. Luckily I had access to high quality outside network cable so did not use the one supplied.
So if you are planning on keeping the cable outside, buy better quality cable or you will have to replace the cheap supplied one in 5 years time.
That aside, the amount of settings to get the system set up to your requirements is awesome. Really good and the app is also brilliant.
First off this is a great system, set the cameras to max and no issues picking up number plates in the street. Expandable to 8 cameras. It’s basically plug and play but a few niggles. The enclosed instructions are rubbish, no description of how to operate/adjust/playback….u have to go looking for this info, not a deal breaker. Biggest issue for some people will be fitting the system. Obviously the camera’s need to be up high, you need adequate ladders. Secondly, in the UK, u will need to drill a sizeable hole/holes through cavity brick walls. I needed an sds drill to achieve this, not that easy at 25 feet on a ladder. Back to the good points, it’s a great system for the price, just plan your installation beforehand and make sure you can get the right tools, forgot to say I connected my system to a WiFi extender, worked great. Very pleased with purchase

I obtained a complete camera and recorder system direct from Reolink and it arrived quickly. It worked beautifully straight out of the box and produced a great clear picture both day and night
I added additional cameras into the system and since we run it 24/7 and so the Recorder storage shortened. Based on Reolink advice it was easy to increase the storage to all good thanks
I have had experience with much more expensive systems, and this one actually seems better than those. Set up was quick incredibly easy, even the online portion. The app is superb and very easy to use – we use it for everything instead of the interface on the actual unit. Picture quality is also great, day or night even when zoomed into a tiny portion of the screen. Only slight quibble is the motion detection, which you can adjust sensitivity and area, but I found myself getting notifications every time a leaf blew by or raindrop fell, so perhaps not as useful as you might think, although we can hardly blame the manufacturer for this, and it is still useful to help you find activity on playback. The infrared has a fairly impressive through at night, and the large red lights on the units offer a deterrent to those prowling for a soft target.
Overall it is an excellent system for peace of mind, and has also come in handy for various scenarios not security related.
Purchased this camera set for my home, absolutely above and beyond what i expected, easy to install and clear, crisp image day or night. I had an isssue with the nvr (the ethernet ports not working) but reolink customer service were excellent and sent me another nvr.

I bought this to allow me to keep tabs on the home. I have cameras outside the house and in the garage and they are working a treat. I have had an issue with a camera but the customer service has been amazing and it has been replaced without any issues. The system works well, its a good zoom, clear during the day, the night vision works well, with a couple of strategic angles the whole garden is lit up and you can see everything. I am truly happy with this purchase and the system has worked well over the last couple of years that i have had it in use.
This is a great kit. Iv had a few over the last few years and after trying battery powered and wifi variations i splashed out on this kit when it was on offer.
Picture quality is really good and the quality for zooming in is even better.

The picture quality is decent, motion sensors work a treat, night vision is cool too. On top of that the setup is fairly simple and the software that comes with it is quite good! No issues after one week of installing so far. All in all a “good purchase” I would say!

After trolling through many reviews and Youtube videos I decided to purchase this Reolink 5mp poe nvr system. You’d swear from the last sentence with the acronym that I was some sort of expert, well I’m not. This whole system worked out even better than I expected. The quality of the video is outstanding which is important but what was more important to me was the ease of setup. Its literally plug in the cameras to you nvr , connect the nvr to the router and your cameras are live. If it had been technically difficult to set up I’d have to pay somene to install .I wanted to set up my recorder (nvr) and run my cameras from my garage which is a seperate building from where my router is and I sucessfully had the whole system up and running with a tp link . Great system. Couldn’t recommend it high enough. One small thing is the 4 no. 18 meter cabels of cat 5 could be a higher quality but as none of my cables run outside the worked fine
The camera is very good, easy to install and set up. Motion detect is fast sending to emails. Looks great and dose a fantastic job, sound quality is brilliant.
The IR night vision is fantastic. the LEDs throw out so much light they are like invisible floodlights. The Reolink app is easy to use. I have mine setup to record motion only and it looks to hold approximately 2 months of video on that setting but im sure this would vary depending on how many times it detects motion at each location.
One camera had a slight haze/condensation in the lens when it was turned on for the first time, I contacted reolink and they replaced it before I sent the faulty camera back. I returned the faulty camera in the packaging for the replacement. very happy with their customer service.

I waited to leave my review after using this system for nearly 3 weeks. This system is an easy to install and operate with a great picture clarity (live in light). Night vision range is very limited to 5 meter range for a good picture, not the range being claimed on the specifications. Over all I am very pleased with the system and would highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a good CCTV for domestic or office use.

These cameras are very good, easy to fit yourself and set up. The picture is good. The recording is good. The app could be better it doesn’t allow fast forward playback, so like x2, x3, x4 etc
The POE works well so would recommend these cameras for sure. The fittings are good and angle is wide.

Blown away by the quality of this system for the money. Picture crystal clear. Can watch live or playback on mobile device even if away from home. 5mp camera system like this is usually 900 + installed but I bought some cable (outdoor) and crimped ends myself… really good. Well recommended.

I’ve heard you can view these cameras on a Google nest hub max if you connect the cameras directly to your router, but if you use the ivr it won’t work. These would be perfect if it would work through the Ivr.

I set it up quickly to test it and everything worked straight out of the box – had an initial problem naming the individual cameras – turned out to be my fault calling two cameras by the same name ! Other than that all OK.
Installation was more time consuming but due to the geometry of my house rather than a product issue.
I located the DVR in a spare bedroom and then had to route a network cable and 4 camera cables through the ceiling and across the loft but after 4 hours of sweaty crawling around the loft space all cables terminated – cameras then connected and functioning.
Software is very accomodating – and you can programme each camera independently to record on time or motion ( or both).
Simple grid arrangement allows for setting specific areas to monitor for motion – so you can eliminate people or cars going past the front of the house, for instance – but have the recording switch on if someone walks up the drive.
It is possible to have remote warnings sent your phone and also possible to view the cameras remotely on the phone – but I have not bothered with this, yet, just happy to have a record on disk – play back of recordings is easy and tools allow you to skip through to particular times, or just show all recorded movements on all ,or single, cameras.
Have only had the system operating for a week but so far – so good, and on the basis of this, admittedly limited, experience I would happily recommend the system.
Works really. Good answers to question from the reolink community, shame the company dint supply better instruction with the kit, but eady enough to set up. The interface is a little difficult to use also needs better instruction a with it and the UI needs updating
This is a really good system. My friend installed it and said it was pretty simple plug and play install. I bought a small monitor separately for the nvr (as I don’t use a pc) as it makes set up easier than doing it on the iPad.
Picture quality, sound and playback is excellent. The nvr seems to record about 10 days worth of 4K continuous recording on the 4 cameras which is good. The ease of use of the app is also superb. I’d definitely highly recommend this system.

Took approx. 5 hours to run the PoE cables due to difficult access.
Followed easy start up instructions and was up and running 5 hours in.
Picture quality is perfect day and night vision.
Downloaded app for phone, took less that 5 mins to have pictures streamed direct to phone as well.

Easy POE set-up to some of our existing cabling, instant recognition through their app so I can monitor away from the office. Lots of settings to get used to, but lots of info online and the techinical support came back to me very quickly when I messed up my login. We received 4 dome cameras with this and a 2TB disc. Easy to assemble and fix to walls/celiings. Plus you can monitor the angle with the phone app in your hand rather than calling down to someone looking at a screen! Some glare from nigh vision against our glass entrance but snapshots of movement emailed to me as and when I choose means I can rest easy at weekends when the office isn’t attended. We will be adding the remaining 4 soon. Very pleased overall.

one thing i would love is a 4k cctv camera system that would just be magnificent.
Very solidly built and the quality of the picture is spectacular.
I use iPhone app and also use the PC and MAC apps to view the NVR from “proper” computers that I have. The system is located in my loft with 8 camera connected to it, 6 directly connected to the NVR and two across my LAN. The system recognises the LAN based cameras immediatly.
Extremely impressive. A system such as this a few years ago would have cost many thousands. It is amazing how far technology has advanced to bring this quality of system to the home user.
Unfortunately it doesn’t have mount cases where to hide the cables and connections inside like other brands do.
Very easy to install and set up. Picture quality is superb and dark light performance is good. The motion detection certainly works, need to turn down the sensitivity, but other than that, very happy with the purchase.
This is the 2nd system I buy, this time for one of my customer. The product have very good quality and the images/video are 5-star. Reolink have all features thats needs for a NVR system. Easy to use for my customer.
These cameras have superb image quality and are easy to set up, with plenty of options for configuration. The smartphone app works well and is intuitive to use.
The price had to be right too.
The picture is excellent as can be seen in the attached pic. Facial recognition should not be an issue with this system, Which is good as it is the fundamental reason for purchase.
Night vision is also excellent.
The installation could not be easier. Plug and play at it’s best, and very simple to set up for viewing on the phone app. The software just found the feeds through the wifi network and worked it out all by itself.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of build too, they seem to be built to last.
There are cheaper systems available but they all compromise usually on picture quality.
This system is no compromise and yet was still a very reasonable price for a bepoke system to my specification.
I aim to install a zoom type camera to pick up no. plates on the street and also internal cameras, however I recently learned that Reolink are bringing out a wifi camera to the market, which would be ideal for internal work without the necessity to damage decoration during cable installation.

Excellent kit, easy to install ,easy to set up due to Poe (power over ethernet) cables. You can show the cameras on your TV or mobile phone via the app. Theres is loads of help via the web site to reolink which is linked to the app
The system is super easy to install, the recorder is an NVR (Network Video Recorder) so everything is processed at the high end cameras which use PoE (Power Over Ethernet), so audio, video and power is all taken care of by a single cable to the camera. The kit comes with 18m cable for each camera. You can easy extend this by buying a RJ45 Coupler for a few quid and some extra cable. As it is an NVR, you can live stream or playback recording over the internet to your mobile phone, Windows PC or Mac. The software is brilliant and you can use the mobile app to configure the system completely. No need for clunky interface as with all other CCTV systems. You can switch the livestream to lower quality if your internet speed is low so you can always see your cameras live.
I’m not comparing this with the likes of Nest, Ring, Arlo and other smart home video monitors. They are pricey, require hefty subscription fees for cloud recording but do offer simplicity and decent quality, but altogether are a different kettle of fish IMO so I don’t think it’s fair comparison to make.
Reolink are constantly updating and improving their software. They are going to offering support for cloud recording which will make this kit even better!
Reolink are one of the best CCTV manufactures. Wouldn’t recommend anything else.. easy to install, setup and use, clear pictures days and night.
Great price for his 4mp camera setup, easy to install and they have a brilliant picture quality.
