Relaxed back!!
This is really good after a long day at work. It was a present for my dad and he loved it. He has back pain every now and again but has started using this massager and it is helping him. It also feels like someone is actually massaging your back.
Overall it is easy to use, remote control is straight forward, it makes you feel relaxed after using it and gives you some sort of pain relief.
Stopped working - but replaced efficiently
I bought this around X’mas 2021 and everyone at home loved it. However the product has stopped working around Easter. The back massagers doesn’t go up and down automatically or by using the remote up/down buttons. I am not sure how to remedy this and any help would be great.

Help indeed arrived – while buying the product, I didn’t realise that it comes with a warranty and the company contacted me directly offering replacement under warranty terms. The new product is great and all working well.
I am sure it make it 5-stars which will be if the replacement works at least a year.

Just what's needed
I am so pleased I decided to order this massager. I was suffering with neck tension and upper back pain. I used the timer limit on the hand remote to massage my upper back and spot session to focus on my neck. What a relief I have had since I bought this Shiatsu massager.
I don’t use it daily only when I feel tension is building up I sit for minutes to massage the pain away, it has helped me cut down on amount of pain relief tablets I was taking to ease my pain, I am now managing my pain better with this Shiatsu massager and less on over counter tablets. We all have different pain levels for different situations, so my personal situation is not same for everyone else, so suggest consult your own GP before trying for your own health situation.
What a relief!!
I have long suffered from a stiff back and pain in the neck. Had previously had a very basic back shiatsu back massager from another company which had packed up after a few years good use. Looked at all the makes and types available and liked the options and styling of this particular massager from Snailax.
I use if on my study chair, often whist working at the computer. It is a perfect for for me (179cm/ 85Kg) and the neck massager adjustment means I can hit the “spot” perfectly in my neck. I prefer to use the padded detachable covers that come as standard for just a little extra padding which provides more than enough pressure to suit me.
After a couple of weeks regular use I am already feeling the benefits, particularly in my lower back. The neck unit is a real treat, but I have to recline back (so not whilst using the computer) to get the best benefit, so it provides 15 minutes of “chill-time” where I cannot be tempted to use the keyboard.
The controller is very easy to use and has a number of great options including pre-set timers, a spot massage selector (particularly useful) and vibration intensity selector for the seat pad. My only suggestion to Snailax would be to consider some sort of backlighting to the buttons, as in the dark it is annoying to have to use the phone torch to see for changing settings, but this really is a small matter although one I would have been willing to pay an extra 10-20 for. This is the reason I gave the remote control only 4 stars.
The seat itself exudes quality, and looks good too. Personally I find it perfectly comfortable to sit on at my desk, even when not using the functions. It is now a permanent fixture on my study chair.
This is a true 5 star product. I love it and would recommend it if, like me, you suffer from back or neck niggles.
a God send for my bad back.
This is so comfortable. I have a bad back, years of sitting driving. I had an old massage cushion from when they first came out, it really helped but over the years it died, so I had to look for another, this came up and I thought its worth a shot at such a great price. I was amazed at the quality. It really is worth every penny. It has saved me money on going for massages, I just sit on it with a coffee and get up feeling very refreshed and my back is a lot easier. I like the cover that enables you to intensify or ease the pressure of the massage. It really is a good bit of kit. Brilliant peace of mind having the 2 year warranty too.

Great, but not ideal for anyone tall or with limited mobility
I’m 5ft11″ and have to move about a lot to get all of my back and neck. I have to do it in sections, which is helped by the settings on the remote.
However it’s great and has stopped me from getting full blown migraines on several occasions.
It’s quite harsh, but gets rid of knots.
This was my step up from just a neck pillow massager, and it’s much better.

This was a Christmas gift for my daughter which has ended up being enjoyed by all the family. Wonderful massage which relieves back muscle pain. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve bought this for my wife for Christmas. She suffers with lower back an coccyx pain after a fall years ago. She’s always enjoyed a back rub to ease the pressure so after seeing all these positive reviews I thought it’s a no brainer.
Giving that it’s got the three speed/power settings it’ll help with the deep tissue massage that she enjoys.
She opens it up on Christmas and ends up sitting using it for nearly an hour she enjoyed it so much. Mentioned that it hits all the sore spots and help knead out the knots in her back. The added vibrations helped the loosen thing up and variable intensity was very nice .
If you know anyone with any scope of back/bum pain this is a definite win if giving as a gift. They’ll thank you for years to come.

I’ve used it for a straightforward massage and felt very relaxed. It’s easy to use and offers a deep massage. Positioning is important.I recommend adjusting your body to get the best from it. The neck massage is amazing and well worth paying a bit extra for as few others offered this. It’s the best but for me and it’s adjustable. The upper back is probably too intense for some but you can put a towel there. It could be improved by having adjustable pressure but it no way detracts from the quality of the product. Highly recommend.
Does the job
It’s a jolly little massager. Does great job kneading those muscles. It won’t replace a massage done by a person but is closely imitating deep tissue strokes. I’m glad I purchased this massager.
Very noticeable improvement.
As you can see from the x-ray of my back, taken in 2018, I have had a lot of repair work done. I was in a wheelchair for 14 months and am now on crutches. I was diagnosed with C. E. S. and was very lucky to get rapid surgery from a brilliant Surgeon. It has still left me with ongoing low back pain so I decided to try a massager. I bought a Snailax neck and back massager with heat model SL-233. I must say I am most impressed. After years of back pain I have tried most treatments out there from Osteopathy to acupuncture, traction and even hanging from my ankles. I must say this piece of kit gives me probably the best relief of all and all as I sit in my office chair, it has proved to be a great purchase.
Easy to use, good massage
Ordered this to help with back pain as often struggle if I’ve overdone things.
This is easy to use straight out of the box, just plug in and go. The remote control is self explanatory and there are plenty of features.
For me I have low back pain so do add a cushion to help the nodes get low enough – you can still feel the benefit of the vibration through the cushion. The heat feature is also really helpful for me.
The massage does go deep but I am used to sports massage so this is perfect for me….. you can press into the back or lift away from it slightly to alter the pressure if needed.
It did come in its own packaging – not in an amazon box- so if you have bought this as a gift you need to bear this in mind…… I Ordered with other items and they came in a separate amazon box.

I am very happy with this massager, I previously purchased three different brands and returned all three. This one is perfect. The massage balls have just the right kneading pressure, they are very comfortable, my back doesn’t feel like something is punching me. I like that you can switch to rolling mode also. The neck massage is 10/10 well done Snailax.
Just perfec
The only regret about this massage chair is that I haven’t bought it earlier. I bought it for my mum’s birthday.
I love the strong intensity of the massaging nodes which some people might find uncomfortably painful. I am 120% satisfied with the product and I highly recommend it.
Best suited to smaller people
I bought this to assist with lower back pain and it works well there. However I am 6 feet tall and the back is not high enough to make much impact on my shoulders as the massage parts reach just up to my shoulder blades. The vibrating seat is small but works fine, however the pocket for the remote control is attached to the seat and easy to sit on (and difficult to get out). It easier to just leave it hanging. Note to maker- consider attaching remote pocket to back rest where it is out of the way. It works where I needed it most, just a shame that “full back” functionality is only for smaller people.
Excellent massage cushion.
This massage cushion was bought to replace one we bought 10 years ago! As you can see it fits the chair perfectly. It is very comfortable and the Shiatsu massaging balls really make a difference. The neck area is much improved I am 5’4″ tall and the previous cushion did not go low enough. This is adjustable and gives a really good massage to the neck area. I hurt my back a few days ago and this has really helped. Almost recovered after 3 days of use. The remote control is super easy and straight forward to use. I would thoroughly recommend.
Really effective
Due to the nature of my job, I’m sat at a desk all day which means I suffer from a lot of upper back pain. This cushion is brilliant at easing the tension in my back. It is really easy to use, and the fact it fits perfectly on my office chair allows me to use it for the recommended 15mins 3x daily whilst I’m working!
An absolute brilliant massage cushio
This particular product is ideal for back pain and also gentle pain relief. The heat button is also very useful. You can actually feel the vibrating balls as you sit on the cushion. A plus factor is having the remote and selecting which area of the back you want to focus the massage on. I am pleased with this device.

Very firm massage
Very firm massage, I was pleasantly surprised. Seems well made and I find it comfortable. It doesn’t really go very high up to the back of the neck though and im only 4ft 11. I found I can slide down the chair a little and it does just reach. So far pleased with my purchase.
Really the best, I say it because before purchasing this model I have returned 3 more bought here on Amazon, this massager really is the best, first because the intensity of the massage is really strong, and the heat it gives off is really very remarkable. In short, this is the best of all the models that are offered here on Amazon.

I bought this as i get lower back ache, you can target upper or lower back on this, I’ve mostly used the lower back setting and so far its helping a lot, if you are of a shorter stature (i’m 5ft 4) then you can sit on a cushion to get in exactly the right place.

Just so good
Great product. Does more than I expected. You can move the massager up and down your neck to the desired area you want targeted. The back massager has two main settings which can easily be changed to suit again what style and strength of massage you want. As someone who has always has tight shoulders and lower back pack it’s great for releasing those tight muscles and pain relief. The benefit also is that the product can be used on your couch making it even more comfortable.

I’m fairly tall at 6″2 and wasn’t sure if this massager would work for me but it’s actually perfect. I also tried the HoMedics Max 2 before I got this, and the Snailax is doing a much better job than HoMedics of really getting into my lower back, and also I’d strongly recommend the Snailax’s style of massage ball (each rotating pair has one large and one small) over alternative designs that have two equally sized balls – gives a much more effective Shiatsu.
Due to my height I find the top section of the massager gets only my lower neck (on its highest position setting) and to be honest isn’t that effective there, so I usually adjust it (via the remote) to its lowest position where it does a great job on my upper shoulders.
Compared to other massagers I’ve tried this one is probably slightly less noisy, and especially if you’re using the back part and not enabling the neck part (which of course is close to the ears!) I can use it while watching TV.

Very quie
Having had back problems for many years now I have been using back massagers for several years. My previous one was well worn so I purchased this new one. The first thing that struck me was how quiet it was. The remote is well set out and easy to use. The additional cushion for the back helps to reduce the pressure from the rotary heated balls on the back which can be quite physical. You can choose massage for the seat area which I found helped with pain around the hips. It has a lengthy power lead which is important if you do not have a socket nearby and it is quite light to carry. I have found these type of massagers to help provide some relief for my back pain. I cannot yet comment about it’s durability but at the moment I am very satisfied.

I am using this for lower back pain. I have only just started using, but feel the product’s actions on my back muscles will loosen them up. Easy to use, good price and costs less than two visits to a physiotherapist! Incredibly quickly delivered.
A-MAZ-ING!
We love this!! I bought this for my partner as a gift at Christmas and it has been brilliant. The settings are great as you can choose between where you want it to focus on (top or bottom of the back). Or if you just want a general massage it can do the whole back. The vibrating section is only in the part you sit on, vibrating under the thighs.
The heat is just right, it isn’t so warm that you notice it straight away – but when you’ve been sat there for a while you realise there’s a considerable amount of heat in the chair and it’s lovely.
I use the chair on and off throughout each weekday whilst working from home. After a week of small daily uses I found knots and stiffness in my back were easing.
I do wish it could work on more sections at once as there are only 2 balls that work their way up and down the back in circular motions, one on the left and one on the right.
However, overall it is fantastic and we may have to buy a second one so we can each have one in our office.
Strong Massage Capability
I bought this product because most of the reviews for an office chair with massage capability were mixed to say the least. The Snailax Back Massager fits my new office chair perfectly, and the massage is beyond my expectations. Obviously for the blurb you can massage lower and upper back and it is quite strong which is one of the reason for this glowing review. The vibrations of the seat of the Snailax Back Massager are noticeable on the low setting and extremely noticeable on the high setting. My only qualm is that it’s a little bit thick to sit in the chair that I bought at the same time – but that’s my fault for not checking.

Only thing I would change is that the massage finishes with the massage balls at the very top of the chair. Only a very small thing though.
Great for headaches/neck pain caused by poor posture after years as a computer programmer.
The neck massage is great for me as I have problems with headaches after working at a desk for a few hours, or even doing some gardening. I find that 15 minutes massage of my neck, along with a rolling lower back massage, makes me feel well enough that I do not need to take painkillers. My husband gets back pain after doing digging, that sort of thing, and the shiatsu massage with the Spot function is great for him. One additional good idea would be to have the neck massage work alone without the back massage. Otherwise, this is an excellent product.

I recommend having an unclothed back against the moving balls if using the heat function.

Perfect massage
What an amazing product. Once we found a chair that it would fit (we use a low arm chair) and we could sit comfortably, the massager is fabulous. My partner and both use it. It arrived quickly, well packaged, and very easy to assembly. The remote control has various options and is so easy to use and there is a little pocket for safe keeping. I would highly recommend this item. I read some reviews about the neck massager being too high but once the correct chair is found, it massages the neck perfectly. I’m only 5′ 4″ and fit perfectly into all moving parts of the massager. Really comfortable and gives an excellent massage. Worth the money. We are getting so much from this massager.

SNAILAX shiatsu Neck & Back Massager- Had the chair a couple of weeks and we love it ! Love the fact that you can change the height on the neck massage to suits different people’s heights. I close my eyes, listen to some calming music and feel the tension massaged away just like being in a salon but better as you don’t get the ring mark impression on your face. Totally portable, easy to use and love both the shiatsu and rolling action. There’s even a spot massage, stopping the mechanism just in that spot to workout that tension. This was a spontaneous purchase and what a great one !
Brilliant massage cushio
I do not dislike anything about it, the cushion is brilliant! I’ve suffered from lower back pain and spasmed upper back muscles for 30 years since a whiplash accident and am taking very strong pain killers, or rather I was! This cushion has relieved 95% of the pain in my back and relaxed all the upper back muscles. Normally I feel as though I’m walking about with my shoulders scrunched up by my ears, that’s how spasmed and tense my muscles were. No longer, I feel great! Can’t praise this cushion enough. Came well packaged and basically once out the box was ready to use , ideal for me as I have a heavy lifting driving job so at the end of the day 15 minutes using the massage , vibrate and heat settings I’m ready for a restful sleep , I was concerned that it wouldn’t be as good as the massage chairs you can use in various nail bars , hairdressers but I can assure you that it’s just as good if not better ! Because your in the comfort of your own home , I tend to use my foot spa with it at same time . The remote control ( wired ) is very simple to use and on the whole the massager is of sturdy construction.. very pleased with my purchase
Great Customer Service
The outer packaging was top notch and gave me the impression I am getting a quality product and I was not let down either as I have had other’s in the past and this looks well made and has an easy to use remote controller.
The massage and heat facility works well just a little hard at first on my back and as mentioned can use the supplied cushioning and advised a towel can help.
The relief given from first use has been very good with clear instructions.
Certainly feel I have an excellent product that I place on my recliner chair but do take it away when not in use and have placed it in it’s original box it was supplied in at the back wall of my lounge, will try to look around for a carry bag with handle so I can unzip it out whenever I need it.
Overall a superb product well priced and a 2 year warranty- what else do I want.
Great massage
After having had a bad back spasm I needed to keep the area massaged, which is obviously hard to do on your own back. This chair pad was just the thing. I need a hard massage as my muscles were so locked, so without the cover was perfect for me. It fitted very well into my chair. I am quite short at 5ft 3in, and I find it best to do the back in sections to ensure that the entire area gets covered, so this feature is very useful. The spot massage feature is also useful as I had a specific area to target. The heating element certainly helps and makes it a pleasant experience. I am very happy with the product – it seems very robust and had some heavy usage on first receipt. I now view it as a home spa treat that can be used at will, or to fill in when I can’t get a real massage. Very pleased with this item.

Good massage
Gives a nice deep massage, easy to setup. My only negative is that it doesn’t quite reach shoulders / neck area properly – because the massagers are a fixed distance apart and of course your neck / shoulder taper in.
Lower back
It does not quite reach the bottom parts of the Lower Back section. Is there any way you can improve the Design to reach those parts of the lower back
Superb machine that has helped my husband's arthritis
My husband has chronic arthritis in his back & shoulders which radiates high levels of pain into his neck and arms. He has been using this machine once a day for a week and already his pain level is much lower and he has much more movement in his back.
It is a little awkward to get the machine aligned so that he gets the massage into his back and neck at the same time, but we’ve sorted a way of doing that. It is not for the faint hearted – the massage is strong but extremely effective. So all in all, a great machine for a reasonable price.
Surprisingly powerful shiatsu massage
I purchased this predominantly for my wife, as had been having pain in shoulder. I wasn’t expecting much, having read reviews and the 2year warranty, the Snailax stood out as a good option.
It arrived in usual Prime timings, unboxed and plugged in with seconds. The remote was easy to use and has a multitude of options from vibrate (on the seated pad) to shiatsu massage up and down full back. The heated option is also good. I was surprised at how hard you can make it, using your own body weight to adjust the amount of pressure. No sign of straining from the motor. Very impressed.
There is a strap to attach to a chair. This is good, however, there isn’t a strap on the seated part, which seems like a missed opportunity, as the massager has the tendency to slip down the chair/seat you are using it on; in other words, a bit frustrating as ones own weight and/or the ‘slippiness’ of the fabric means you have to keep pushing it back into the seat/chair.- a solution being using a bungee cord/ your own strap to keep in place.
Other than that, whole family enjoying it and I’m looking to purchase one myself!
A lifesave
This was a desperate impulse buy following weeks of back pain that made me dread every working day due to being hunched over a laptop for hours on end. The relief, when it arrived, was instant. It’s really easy to set up and operate. My back pain was massaged away over the course of a week or so. I’ve used it two or three times a week since and my back problems have vanished completely.

A strong and forceful massage
I do a lot of exercise and along with the general aches from working out I had developed a persistent pain in my left shoulder. The shiatsu massage chair has been a great way to even out knots and I can feel a clear improvement from only three 10 minute sessions on the chair since it arrived. There are 5,10 and 15 minute timers, the later being the maximum recommending use per day. The shiatsu setting is really powerful but can be regulated by removing the back slip (stronger) or adding a towel if you wanted it softer, but I like the forceful massage. There is also a more relaxing rolling massage setting which is very nice. Together with the two vibration options which come through the seat area, this is a really effective way to get a massage at home for the price of just two or three sessions from a trained physio.

Firstly the chair works extremely well! It helps pain relief for anyone who suffers from back pain. I suffer from a condition called scoliosis which is a curve in the spine and with an office job you can imagine the pain I go through. This chair helps massively and helps my brother who also suffers from serve back pain the chair has a lot of different massage settings to suit everyone. Snailax the company itself go above and beyond for their customers, Senbei was a pleasure to deal with as the chair I bought for my brother this x mas had a fault and he resolved that problem very quickly and is in process of a replacement.
I love everything about this product. Snailax started off well… super fast delivery just before Christmas which is always a good sign. The chair arrived well packaged and was a lot heavier and more sturdy than expected. The instructions were easy to follow and we were up and using it in minutes. I was amazed by the amount of options available.
There are two back modes: Shiatsu and Rolling with the options to do either full, lower or upper back and also a Spot option that lets you focus on a certain spot foras long as you like. This is really useful after a hard exercising session or if you feel a particular muscle tightening. You can increase the intensity of the chair from soft to really hard and effictive. It’s definitely not a toy or a gimmick.
There is also a neck section allowing you to focus on the neck, with controls allowing you to shift rotation up or down along with the intensity.
All the options are controlled by a timer and there is also a vibrating option. All of these options can be used all together, individually or you can mix and match. As I said I was amazed by the amount of options on offer. It is superb value for money and will save me a fortune at the physio.
Oh and I nearly forgot . It has a Heat option too meaning you can heat it up slowly as you adjust the intensity of your massage.

This was a Christmas gift for our mother who suffers with back pain. It has been a huge hit and she uses it daily now to help with her pain relief. The remote control panel works well and is easy to understand. Powerful
Bought for my mum, it’s really good and the massage is really strong, the only reason for not awarding 5 for all is that for those with not mum body fat it can be painful as the lowest setting is still powerful, but still good!

Fantastic product that fits all sizes of people. I am 6’1″, my partner is 5’4″. We can both use it comfortably. The Shiatsu function feels fantastic just like a strong masseuse’s hands to relieve back and neck pain. You can use it on all sorts of chairs and sofas. We have a recliner sofa that complements the massager well.
The remote control is easy to use and you can select any combination of functions.
After a 15 minute session you feel rejuvenated.

Valued addition to the family during lockdown!
Has been a great addition to the family especially during lockdown! Found myself or someone in the family is using the Snailax on a daily basis as the massager definitely helps to alleviate neck and back tension. The heat setting combined with focusing the massager on certain points works on loosening knots. We have more than recovered the cost of the Snailax from the savings made from not having to go out for a massage.
