Cheaper than what it was retail when I bought this, and I’m happy I did. Everything about it is great. The only problems I have are program side and development issues and so small they won’t even go noticed such as keyboard hotkey control. Well worth the money.

Not much to say except it does what it’s supposed to do and software is simple but flawless. Only issue is the switches feel cheap but that’s easy to get ove

No issues so far, love the product. Only thing I would like is that if you unplug the usb you don’t have to set everything up again in OBS so try to avoid unplugging it from PC

    Sound 10/10
    Mikro 10/10
    Software 10/10

Go xlr mini e una macchina perfetta a mio avviso. Voto complessivo 4.5

Works really well with Shure SM7B. Has enough gain to not need a cloud booster to work the mic.

The sliders slide like butter, no more hassling between different programs mid stream to change different audios. This is a very easy, very beginner friendly mixer that was easy for a beginner like me to set up. I have a blue yeti and I needed to buy a groundbreaker 3.5 adapter to make it sound decent, but I’m considering an upgrade to a xlr mic because of how much I love this tool! If tc helicon had their goxlr mic in stock I would totally buy it hands down. The mute buttons are customizable to hold mute, toggle mute, mute to stream, mute to gamechat chat, ect. The channels themselves were very easy to set up. It is so much more simple to physically slide or press a single button than it is to swap between so many computer programs when live and the convenience is well worth the money. If you own a stream deck, it has built in stream deck integration.

It is a little expensive compared to other alternatives but with this one you are getting a nice style with super easy to use interface, it also has a great range of mix controls in the application it’s self

The GoXLR Mini is great for outputting apps to 4 virtual sound cards, allowing you to fader-control them. The gain control is plenty for a Shure SM7b, with some nice eq, compression, and noise gate functionality. The only bug I have found (so far) is sometimes the fader won’t change the volume on startup until you move it a lot, then it reverts back to working as expected. Hoping the bug will be fixed with firmware updates.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst for the reviewers that say they got a scratched new unit make sure you didn’t miss the film if there is a blue sticker in the middle of it that says remove protective film, then you still need to remove it. There is no obvious place to lift it, you just grab from a corner until it starts to lift. Try to just use your finger to avoid scratching it for real. Audio sounds great but getting the faders and set up is very challenging and finicky. It took me over 24 hrs of watching various YouTube videos, checking the user manual and other online comments to get it to finally work. So if you want to go this way be aware this will be VERY difficult to set up unlike what YouTuber tutorials make it look. Good luck. It works well right now, mostly concerned about longevity from the reviews here.

Even the mighty shure dynamic mics don’t need a cloudlifter with one of these.

It’s sadly reliant wholly on windows software and does not function without the application running aside from that, excellent.

This product is incredible and is working as intended. Perfect to control all the different volume sources, mic, chat, system, music, etc. The only reason I’m not giving a 5 is because there were scratches when I got the product. Not sure if it was delivered like that got scratched via delivery.

If u are beginner for streaming, podcasting and u need 48 phantom power is good to go. I will have 4 channels for sliders, mute buttons. Nice app with EQ. Some features are missing from full GO XLR, but if you just beginning its best device. Of course check YT reviews and make our choice.

I read and mine even arrived – “Scratched” but is seal to protect from scratches just take it off and it will shine! 🙂
P.S. – u don’t need cloud lifter with this device!

    Points positifs :

I use the product for streaming content to twitch so, prior to purchase I done my research and understood what was necessary to get all set up. Once everything had arrived, getting the hardware set up was relatively easy however, I use a wireless headset and this created an extra layer of complexity which was not ideal. On top of this, the software itself proved difficult to understand and required a good bit of research to be able to configure the system to provide the best sound input (still not sure I have figured it out).

Whilst the GoXLR Mini lacks a few features from the full-sized GoXLR, I don’t really need those. Ive noticed that there is quite a of the reviews saying that their GoXLR mini was used because it had scratches all over it. There is a lot of reviews saying that a actually. Even people said that they got a replacement and the same it’s all scratched up! There is one who even notice the sticker that says remove plastic before use but wasn’t able to put two and two together. There is a plastic covering on the faceplate to protect it from scratches. Your device isn’t actually scratched. Only the soft protective covering is scratched

This mixer only needs few words. It’s functional and well built for its price, RGB customization is a bonus point. Plus, the software is well optimized for daily use without issues and is super configurable with routing. My personal favorite is its ability to apply real-time microphone configuration such as compression, noise gate, and equalization. Is able to drive dynamic mics, and condensers are pristinely quite from static noise thanks to the onboard studio grade preamp chip.
I would give this 5stars if it wasn’t for the odd high pitch whining that occasionally happens through my microphone output. I have plenty of mics I tested and can say it’s the Goxlr mini. But it’s minuscule and thanks to the nose gate, it just a snuffs it out. Sometimes it’s not even there.

But would I recommend this? Absolutely, worth the investment. Definitely a better long term solution for those who aren’t absolute audiophiles but care about mic quality. Even if you don’t understand that kind of stuff.

I have a friend that streams and they have had all kind of problems with their audio setup, until I bought this for them now they can stream with more confidence and control over who hears what in the channel and also be able to make adjustments on the fly. it also has some cool sound fx mixers and can even record little soundbites for use in the stream, they absolutely love i

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter a year of experience, I have edited my review to share my observations, and why I still would justify buying the GO XLR mini over the other options I tried (like Blue Yeti X with Logitech G-Hub or Voicemeeter or M-Audio or MOTU M2).

-The preamp is loud and has a superior tone compared to other preamps I have used. I don’t have a great voice, and this makes me sound good on any mic, which says a lot. It’s full, warm, and balanced and retains a lot of coloration and character in my recordings. The noise is not loud at all. I’ve had quieter self noise on the MOTU M2, but it makes my voice sound a tad muffled. I find the GOXLR Midas preamps have the best balance and sound quality.

-EQ, compressor, noise gate, and mix: The EQ, compressor, and noise gate is just minimum customization for pre-processing. It allows for just enough, but it felt limited. In a sense, it’s better that way because if I just customize minimally, I can avoid over-processing and sounding unnatural. It also means that it’s a little easy to over-process if settings are too high.
-EQ works great. I found that my settings with different mics are fairly consistent with my surroundings and my voice. Was able to tame some of the annoying clicks, sibilance, room reverb, boom/rumble a tad while retaining the high/mids/lows I need. The GOXLR mini only has 6 frequencies to EQ, so it does feel a tad limited, but at least can do the minimum I require. The normal GOXLR has more options (but bigger and more expensive).
-The compressor is so strong it’s too easy to screw it up. I had my attack too low and release too high with not enough make-up gain for the longest time that sometimes it produced a pumping noise. I found out that the attack and release has to be closer to the lower middle end, with a tad higher make-up gain for best results. For low compression, I found 2.5:1 works quite naturally. For higher compression, 4:1 works best overall. Just real sweet without distracting booms.
-The noise gate settings are strong, but if slightly adjusted, works great without sounding distracting or taking away from my voice. It’s so strong in fact that I leave it in the minimum settings and it does a great job. Any higher will ruin the quality.
-Mixing: Sometimes I have music streaming from my phone in the background. It’s cool to adjust once in awhile for effect. Usually keep it at 35%.

-Live monitoring/Playback: The preamp hiss is so loud, I had to buy a 3.5mm filter to get more accurate live monitoring/playback. And it can get LOUD. If not careful, the live monitoring can get so loud it can create an echo or feedback on the mic, or worse yet, hurt my ears. Gotta keep it turned down. Gotta have the filter to cut down the hissing noise. Just to be clear, the hiss is not recorded.

-Interface/Menu/Sliders: The software menu isn’t too confusing. It can be used to customize LED settings or save other mic profiles. Using the sliders is fairly straightforward. I find the soft buttons of the mute and bleep to be pleasing to the touch. The Go XLR menu interface is great because it’s not a resource hog, but rather a control center with minimum resource drain because the actual processing is done onboard the Go XLR mini itself, which also makes for smoother output.

-Build: It feels sturdy but like all interfaces, it’s a bit clunky and can be awkward to place on a desk. The GOXLR mini is just slightly bigger than the other 2 audio interfaces I used.

For $200, the GOXLR is a better deal than all other audio interface and processor combos. High quality audio and pre-processing all in one package.

The ONLY issue some people may have with it that I can think of, is that there is only 1 mic XLR input. If you want to podcast with multiple people on one device, this would be a hard no.

For my usage scenario: 10/10 – I do not need any other device.

Top quality materials, sound quality, and functionality. If you want the ability to adjust individual audio sources on the fly there is no substitute.

“You can do that with many audio mixers”. You can, but the beauty is in the software. And the software is exclusive. It can be a little confusing at first but if you break it down and learn the basics you can do so much with it. Like iOS makes the iPhone what it is, this software is a great compliment to this high quality mixer.

    Complaints:
    – Bigger than I thought. The top side with the volume adjusters seems pretty standard. Could be condensed but not a big deal. The fact that it’s around 2.5″ high makes it a little overly cumbersome.
    – power doesn’t shut off when you turn off your pc, you need to set a sleep mode and turn off all the lights. If your power resets for whatever reason it goes into a default state with lights shining bright.
    – the bottom left button could easily be customizable in the software as opposed to strictly an audio censorship sound.
    – why is the headphone jack on the front??
-$250 is steep. No better quality in the class but the price is definitely a slight drawback imo.

-It’s a great product! Should you buy it? Yes, especially if you plan on streaming or hate using Voice meter like I have for many years. There’s several videos on YouTube that helps you set it up. The hardest part is fine tuning some EQs since it’s unique to everyone.

-Only thing I haven’t checked to see if you can have 2 mixes. For example having stream hear chat, game, and music at one level. And you as the gamer hearing all that at a different level.

All in all it’s great if you’re not a big streamer. If you’re a big streamer I say go for the fullsize one or the RodeCaster.

    Cons:
-There’s really not any but if I had to nit pick…the device doesn’t turn off if your computer is in sleep mode. You have to go in the software and choose a profile that puts it in silent mode. (Doesn’t really bother me much.

-Still checking the software to see if I find this, but for now there doesn’t seem to have the ability to have two separate mixes. Its not a big deal

-Sidenote: not sure why most remove the protective film. It doesn’t get in the way and protects the unit. Also if you plan on using this with a blue yeti (USB type) you can, but I didn’t get it to work super well cause you have to find a sweetspot with the gain on the yeti and the gain with the Go XLR software. So just get a PodMic like I did and sell the Yeti

    Just as YouTube says

    Weiterzuempfehlen!

    Overall:

Sound quality is far beyond the Astro Mixamp I am trying to retire, except that there are intermittent dropouts and pops. I have a support case open and will update once I have a resolution. This is the only reason for the low score on sound quality.

ETA: The dropouts and pops have been resolved by removing my second GPU, which I was only using for PhysX and RTX Voice processing anyway. It is strange to me that something like this would adversely affect a hybrid hardware/software DAC/mixer.

My impression so far is that the GoXLR may make you want a better headset and mic, or could just help you get better quality out of what you already have.

    The good:

Zero-latency monitoring with the mic you want to use. I’m constantly in meetings and this matters a lot.

This will drive an A40 TR headset to much higher volume than the Mixamp, and clarity is better. With volume at max and no sound being output, there is absolutely no sound in the headset versus the Mixamp which has a very noticeable background hiss past half volume.

Initial feedback from participants in meetings is that it sounds fine, but I’m taking this with a grain of salt given what 2020 has conditioned people to put up with when it comes to meeting audio.

Lighting customization is good enough to let me do exactly what I want. I don’t have everything completely off, but you could if you wanted.

Noise gate, EQ, and compression for the mic input.

Four custom-assignable physical faders with their own mute buttons.

    The not so good:

The aforementioned dropouts and pops. This is an issue others have experienced, and solutions seem to have ranged from motherboard replacement to simple software fixes, and in between occasionally an add-in USB card does the trick. There’s obviously a not-uncommon problem here that TC-Helicon are handling on a case by case basis.

There is zero function without the app, a stark contrast to the Mixamp which is self-contained.

Documentation and support is aimed at streamers and gamers. You’re going to be funneled to Youtube and Discord, though there is still a web-based support portal.

No EQ for sound sources. I can use Peace for this, but given the price and the fact the GoXLR app is running anyway, this should be included. People who don’t add an EQ are stuck with whatever their headset gives them, which is a shame because they may be blaming the GoXLR for that lack of quality.

Monitoring doesn’t seem to accurately represent what’s being output, mainly with regard to volume level.

The top plate has a glossy finish. I don’t care so much about the fingerprints, but you may find yourself fiddling with device placement to avoid glare from it. I guess the typical streamer is supposed to work in a dimly lite cave?

I come from a professional broadcast background, I brought this worrying about the snooty reviews online from sound engineers etc. Honestly, it’s an amazing bit of kit. I use it for everything, all day every day.

It helps me manage computer sound quickly and easily. The faders get constantly thrown up and down and they’re still sturdy. The effects panel hasn’t been that useful and the record function gets old unless you have a specific use for it.

Although a great bit of kit, I feel that the mini would be best suited if it had a push to mute button like the larger GoXLR

Software is simple and straightforward, honestly if you need something to manage sound on the fly for streaming, recording or just general every day usage. This.
