I received the item today on 13 th February 2023. After unboxing and close inspection I found
The build quality (body, neck, fretboard, keys) is good and mate finish is nice . The sound quality is not the best but acceptable. After playing for a few minutes i noticed a cracked sign on one edge . I think it’s because of the poor packaging of the product . The product came with the original paper box only . There was no extra protection for transportation. The seller should take care of it. I am going to ask for replacement. Finally I got refund on 13th March as the product picked up by courier. Thanks to the customer care executive.
I have been playing since i was 12 years old, that’s 50 years ago. My first proper guitar was a B&M Almeria and cost about 50 back in 1973. I hate to think where that price would be with inflation taken into account. It was a decent guitar, but not a patch on the Yamaha C40II. I now wish I’d bought another classical guitar years ago. The Yamaha is brilliant value for money, I’ve just checked the intonation and it’s pretty much spot on. I like the fact that it has some neck relief but the action’s very high and needs some work on the bridge. The strings are very average and I will change them tomorrow. I can’t believe how cheap it is as the fit, finish and sound quality are outstanding. If you are an acoustic or electric guitarist and want to try a classical, you can’t go wrong. Also excellent for beginners.
This Yamaha classical guitar is excellent value for money. It has a lovely sound and once tuned a few times settles into an instrument that stays in tune longer than many nylon stringed guitars. So happy I read the reviews and chose this guitar.
I bought this guitar for my husband who hasn’t played for many years. He was over the moon. Great guitar for beginners and fantastic all rounder.
Good sturdy guitar for the price. Doesn’t feel like those cheap beginner guitars.
As a professional musician, I am quite rigorous with sound quality and playability when it comes to buying instruments. This one, despite seemingly being an entry level instrument, beats easily most of the high-end classical guitars I have seen so far. It plays absurdly well straight out of the box. The quality of the sound and intonation are superb. The melodies and harmonies are projected beautifully due to its unbeatable natural reverb. Getting songs played on this fabulous asset is such a tasteful experience. It is well designed and finished. Such a sight for sore eyes.
The action of the strings is fair. They are not that close to the scale to the point of bringing up buzzing, nor so far as to cause discomfort during playing.
The only thing it will eventually need is a change of strings since the set of strings it comes with wears away quite quickly and snaps at some point. However, don’t take it as a disadvantage. Factory strings normally are this useless and mostly used for regulating and fine-tuning the instrument.
Having said all that, don’t think twice. Just buy it and have fun.
Edit 1: I decided to bring the action down myself using some sand-paper. I just needed to mark the amount I would need gone with a sharp pencil and ruler, scrubbed the bone saddle against the sand paper for like 10 to 15 minutes and and kept testing it until I felt comfortable playing the guitar on the high registries, just because I like to play pieces that involve going all over the neck. Although the action was fair up until the 5th fret, from there on I still had to make a slight effort to bring the strings down against the fretboard when playing chords, and I am the zero-effort type of musician when it comes to regulation and action of the strings. Now it plays perfectly. Lovely guitar. Still recommending it without a second thought.
Love it. Much easier to use and more forgiving than an accoustic guitar due to the wider neck and distance between strings. Also the nylon strings need less finger pressure to achieve good contact with the frets.
I am a complete beginner with this Yamaha C4011 classical guitar. I spent hours sifting through prices/ reports etc. I am a ex- brass musician so I knew Yamaha had a excellent reputation for quality in musical instruments. The reason for taking up a complete different instrument was I had a mouth problem, so I could no longer play a brass instrument. The choice of teaching myself a classical guitar has renewed my interest in
playing again and has proved a brilliant idea. The Yamaha C4011 Classical Guitar has been a pleasure for teaching myself, and I cannot praise Yamaha enough for its quality of this instrument on my journey of learning. It represents excellent value for this quality instrument. Baza
You know the ones I mean, the nice mother of pearl dots that help us beginners navigate to octaves and fifths etc. This guitar is built for beginners and has ignored such a basic need that I’m unable to give it five stars. I can forgive the cost cutting of the neck materials, the black teak or rosewood is simply painted on, and the sound for us starters, is lovely, but come on Yamaha, you are musicians aren’t you, or are you driven by the accountancy department?
I am not expert in Guitar. However I cannot fault it’s appearance.
I have already done my ABRSM gradings to grade 8 and have played professionally in restaurants. I gave up six years ago owing to family commitments. I decided to dip my toe back into classical playing with a budget guitar and WOW ! Straight out of the box this is grrrrreat ! Lovely tone, volume, balance and looks. Despite what others say here I have found that the strings and the set up are absolutely fine (a classical guitar is meant to have a high action.) Of course, back and sides are laminate but several guitars have caused me to notice that tone woods aren’t what count – correct dimensions, fan bracing and scalloping are and the internals of this guitar are way beyond its budget with those things included. The intonation is spot on all the way up the neck, the back of which has a satin feel to it. The frets are well aligned and there are no sharp edges that you would expect to find on a cheap guitar.
I’ve even read someone complain that it has no truss rod but classical guitars never do have them. This is an accurate feature.
I LOVE this Indonesian guitar and it is a good guitar at ANY price and is a joy to play. Don’t hesitate to get one.
This guitar is easy to use, so it’s great for a beginner. The sound is really nice too.
This is a well-made, high quality instrument at a very low price. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
First full size classical guitar for a 12 year old who has been playing for a few years. She is delighted with it.
Bought this for myself as a first guitar, it’s perfec
Been learning on this guitar for year or so and i love it. It was expensive, but it feels more then it is. It has a great sound and the when it arrived it was packaged securely and very pleased with it. love it.
Nice easy to play guitar. Original strings a tad low quality but easy for people starting to play the guitar. I would recommend
It’s light in weight so good for young adults. Very much a beginners guitar. However, you get what you pay for so don’t expect it to be as good as a more expensive classical guitar. Nevertheless, better than most in this price range.
Lovely guitar for beginners, but also the more advanced player. Lovely sound. My daughter loves it!
A really nice guitar, I’m no expert but this a nice guitar with a very nice sound and a good feel
Awesome guitar! Can’t say enough good things. Perfect for a beginner. Look no further 😉
