Ok so if I were to be very picky,
It struggles to pic up number plates as they are not very clear, amd I feel the distance it can be sighted from The router is not amazing. It’s also a little tricky to get connected
But other than that it’s a good bit of kit.

Very good camera, easy to set up. Solar Panel is definitely best option, the camera just needs to be within 4 or 5m from WiFi router. For the price, its very good

This camera really checks all the boxes. I returned my blink as the night vision was extremely poor and non existent. The night vision is brilliant and definitely an important factor in any security camera. I would recommend this product to anyone if they’re seeking a reliable solar camera with good quality picture. There was a deal on which made me even better. I purchased two!

The camera works great, the solar panel is able to keep it charged even during Irelands winter where we have only 8hrs of sun light.

The only feedback I have for the seller is that the base where the camera is fixed on (the one you drill to the wall) should have more options to secure the camera. I added a steel thread to tie it since it felt a bit loose to my taste.

So happy with this as was very quick and easy for my partner to install without any issues and it’s also incredibly easy to use withe app and offers really good security and protections, Seems very solid and well made too and it’s not too bulky like some have seen so would recommend as no issues so far at all and works perfectly with good picture and responsive motion detection.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe size and quality of these cameras is amazing mist suffer at night the pics show ir and also the same using the built in lights. Setting up is simple download the app (very user friendly) charge the camera open the app and add new device following the instructions on the app mount the bracket in the chosen location with the screws raw plugs and drilling templates supplied and also the solar panel bracket then simply slide the camera onto the mount I would recommend a micro sd card 128gb the cloud storage is excellent and only 30 a year. The customer service is outstanding as when I tried to register for the 12 mont warranty +180 days free it did not go through I received an email very shortly apologising for this and they had done it for me sending me confirmation of this. When Setting up the motion sensor and alarm area be mindful of public foot paths as people passing can trigger it so do not highlight these areas unless you need to. Overall as someone who uses professional cctv at work daily costing 10s of thousands these cameras are actually very very good quality and at a fantastic price

    Amazing quality low price

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI needed to have a quick install of a camera on the front of my place, nothing super fandango just something we could check on the phone, the solar wifi idea seems a good option, it took 30 mins max to set up, easy APP, motion detection is a little laggy, maybe 5 seconds before it picks people up, night vision is good, little lights come on to highlight passers by, we hardly ever have people passing just Amazon drivers and us really so the History function is handy, all in all very good, we have had 3 days of sunshine so lets see how it is with rain and low cloud. If buying get a 126g mini card at the same time.

I was pleasetly surprised by the quality of the camera, very robust, images are super clear, no more concerns around what is happening at the backyard.

Very easy to set it up, it took me less that 10 minutes to have it up and running; for the installation, having the templates is a must! Really DIY driven.

App could be simplify a little bit, you have all you need there, however sometimes it is a little bit difficult to navigate in it.

After-sales is really amazing!i was contacted by Vera to check if all was working well, she solved my concerns/questions, and even sent me an explanatory video around one of my requests.

Overall – it has been a very pleasant experience, I would definitely continue using these products.

My sister recommended that I buy this as she has the same one. This is absolutely brilliant. I cannot praise it enough. The recordings are crisp, no blurring of images. I can even zoom in on pedestrians passing my home and recognise them from the images. I bought 2, one for the front of my property and one for the back. They are solar powered and supported by battery, which can be charged if needed, lead provided. I haven’t needed to charge them yet. After installing the back plate, you will need to attach the camera by carefully sliding it into the back plate, then push down the camera, don’t be heavy handed with it.

Although I had a bad experience (as below) in the beginning when the camera stopped working. I eventually was contacted by a very efficient staff member who apologised for the lack of response due to technical issues they were having, she went on to replace my camera for me with no hesitation. I am happy with this explanation and feel it’s unfair to give a poor rating.
The camera is amazing, the quality is excellent therefore I have increased the rating . MANY THANKS TO Vera for helping me, she was grate.

Great camera for 5 weeks then one day just stopped working. Did everything to get it going again and nothing worked. Twice I contacted to Anran support through their website “help” section and got no reply. I am now left with a camera that dosent work after just 5 weeks.
Their website looks okay at first but there is no product support for this camera. Any troubleshooting is the same for all their products of which they have many. None of it applies to this camera. Terrible service.
    So so disappointed.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was a bit concerned about battery charging and waterproof quality given the U.K. weather, but have to say, it’s been out in the rain with no issues and I’ve yet to take it down and charge it as the solar panel seems to do an efficient job. Picture quality is good night or day. Slight delay in sending alerts but my wifi is not full strength in the garden, so it may be down to that. You can adjust motion sensitivity and this works fine. However, slight annoyance that I haven’t figured out how to stop motion detection when I go outside. Even if I put a block on the view the camera picks me up and sends umpteen alerts. I can angle the camera down to avoid this, but I find it is a bit difficult to get it back in the correct position then as it keeps overshooting the mark of where I want it to be. Other than this, very happy with the camera for the money. Solar is the way to go and this was a no fuss, easy set up and effective camera for the price (which was very reasonable for this type of cctv).

Battery, waterproofing working well, easy setup

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe camera is very good for the money. The night vision is a bit grainy but good enough. A nice feature is that you can set the camera to switch on a light and or make an audible alarm if movement is detected. Our camera stopped charging from the solar panel (think poor connection in the cable plug). Regardless of cause support was excellent and a new solar panel was despatched and they actively followed up to make sure the problem was resolved. Could not have been better.

This is very easy to install (using the included fittings) and set up with the CloudEdge app. The app provides various functions including a history (by default, it takes a short clip of about 8 seconds when triggered by the motion sensors), position control (very useful to get the camera pointed exactly the desired direction), intercom, record (to keep a clip of any length from the live feed), or trigger a siren or strobe light. The night vision (in black and white) is very clear. We’re very pleased with it.

This is an excellent Camera with a lot of functions. It is so clear in Day or Night mode and can be set to very sensitive motion detection. I was also able to share it with my Family so they can also review footage. The Siren is not particularly loud, but effective.

I purchased 2 solar Anran cctv cameras to use at a house in Portugal. The instructions leaflet that’s supplied with the cameras could provide better information but the support I received from the head office (Vera) was excellent. Installation was pretty simple and the results were more than adequate. I made the point that they should offer different lengths of wiring as an option because in my case I was limited where to place the solar panel but we did get it resolved. We purchased 2 more on our return to use domestically. For the price, the vision is good both day and night.

No need to worry about charging the camera. The battery power of this home security camera really lasts for a long long time as it has its own battery, and solar charging, which is great. It’s better than most cameras that use batteries, no need to take off the monitor too often, it’s too much trouble. What makes me satisfied is that it has a lot of functions, two-way talk, colorful nights, and rotating 360 degrees. I can’t say enough, it gives me so many ways to monitor my yard when I am away.

    + well made
    + battery/solar powered
+ very good picture quality even at night
+ takes a micro SD card. Personally I have connected it to my wifi router
+ the CloudEdge app is needed to set different settings to the camera like alerts or view live footage or check the battery
+ the motion sensor does not pick up my cat or other animals as activity. You avoid unnecessary alerts.
+ price is reasonable considering the image quality, solar panel

    – this camera records when there is movement. This is the case because it works on battery.
    – no information of the battery on the advertisement(how many mah). This is the main feature of this camera and it should be clearly stated prior buying
    – there is some delay(1-2secs) to record after detecting motion
    – battery is drained quickly. Currently, there is a lot of daylight and the solar panel charges the battery. I am not sure what will happen during the winter time that there is less daylight.
    – Only works with 2.4ghz wifi. 5.0 not supported.

I have been using this as a wildlife camera for the time being. When our extension is finished it will be wall mounted, at the moment it is sort of wedged in place, this however does not affect the use of this camera. I have seen clear night time pictures of hedgehogs and even heard them on our patio. In the daytime I have caught next doors cat jumping on my bird table. It took me a while to connect it and find out how it works but now that is sorted it is a great security camera. You can see the goings on via the phone app. It is easy to use as well vis the app. It is good that there is no wiring in involved, it means that even I can set it up. The motion sensor is instant and comes on immediately it senses any movement. It also has a very big solar panel to store all the power.

Eo friendly solar security lamp with sound and pictures.

Have the panel facing SWest with a building stopping sun until midday. Charges a treat. I bought an extension lead for the Solar Panel to get it in that not ideal but best spot too. High quality images day and night. And the remote tracking lets us see across the whole width of our property, when you move the camera it’s like looking at a bot in Star Wars! ANRAN Security Camera Outdoor Wireless with 360 View, 1080P Solar Security Camera Outdoor with Smart Siren, Spotlights, Human Detection, 2-Way Audio, Color Night Vision, Waterproof, Q01 Grey
This camera comes packed as usual in a cardboard box and with minimum plastic wrapping which is what we like. The camera is made of some tough plastic so as to protect it from the weather. It feels solid in the hand. The device looks neat and is attached to the Solar powered battery which makes it Green. This camera has 3modes a coloured one,a regular night mode and the alarm one. There is an micro SD card slot which is convenient and/or also can buy cloud storage subscription. This app can be shared with other members of the family or friends. The solar battery has a nice length helping you to place the camera where you need it.
The pictures from this camera are very clear if the battery is well charged. The battery charges quickly in these summer days when it has bright sunshine directly. We have noticed that it does not charge well if it is a cloudy day though if it gets a short time it does charge quite quickly. The camera has to be angled right so as not to allow raindrops on the camera. It sometimes doesn’t detect all motion. The 128gb mirco sd card is a good size.
The app is easy to install and very straightforward. It is good and easy to follow and set up. It doesn’t seem to consume too much battery power. The app makes it easy to control a lot of features which is very helpful. The night picture is good and clear, depending how much other lighting is available. The size of the card gives a lot of storage. Besides being Solar powered there seems to be a USB port we have not yet tried it. Being Solar powered you don’t have to drill a hole in the house wall that makes fitting it much simpler. So far we have been happy with the results except a few teething problems most of which we have sorted out. Only keeping fingers crossed the next storm should not loosen the Solar Panel will keep you updated if it does happen. Would recommend as it is a step to using green energy.

What I look for in a security camera is firstly (and forgive me) that it is not white, I got the grey one (I’d also use black) as my house is stone and white just doesn’t look very good against it. This might sound minor but I haven’t found that many that offer a darker one as an option. I also need a camera that is not hard wired because where I want it it’s just not possible to hard wire it in, this being solar powered is perfect. I also want to be able to access it via my smart phone which you can do with this camera via the CloudEdge app on Apple store or Google play.

So this camera ticks all my boxes but is it very good?

In short yes. It looks and feels good quality, it is supplied with accessories to fit including a handy sticker already measured for your screw holes and the cable from the solar panel to the camera is more than enough for where I want to put it.

The solar panel measures no bigger than a tile on my roof so isn’t unsightly and blends into the look of the house.

The camera when fitted 2-3 metres up has the capacity to view 10 metres which is excellent to cover a path or side of a property.

Things I’d say to watch out for are the solar panel needs uninterrupted light so no trees or lamp post etc in the way, the camera itself should not be in direct sunlight as this could interfere with the quality of the images. And before you fit it make sure that you test the wifi signal to your router as this will connect your phone to the camera and if you can’t connect you can’t use it. Lastly buy a Micro SD card (max 128GB) this is your storage and without it your only other option is to sign up for cloud storage.

Overall I am very happy with this Security Camera for 89.99 (May ’22) I feel it’s a great price for a great product and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again.

    Ticks all my boxes ⭐️

I got this security camera branded by ANRAN as it is ideal for outdoor use since it is solar-powered and waterproof.

The camera has a 1K/2MP crisp video quality and it has a human motion detector and will alarm once it detects unnecessary movement. It supports Micro SD cards up to 128GB and also supports IR night vision in darkness as well as colour night vision enabled by 2 powerful spotlights making it perfect even if it is dark in the area. It has a unique smart siren alarm feature that works with spotlights, this is useful for when it detects unexpected visitors at night in darkness and deters them from your place right away.

Moreover, it is wireless so you just have to connect it to your wifi. The camera supports a live view on your mobile phone and windows pc through an App which can be downloaded. This one is solar-powered so you only need the sun for it to recharge and work all throughout the day and night. Lastly, it is IP65 waterproof ensuring that the camera will still work regardless of the weather conditions.

I was amazed by the overall build and quality of this security camera. I am a fan of it’s design, plus I like that it is solar-powered, unlike some I have recently tried. The installation process is very easy as there are detailed instructions in the manual. The images and recordings have a decent quality even at night and the motion sensor detector is not too sensitive so there’s no false alarms.

All in all, this is another great security camera however, it’s a bit pricey compared to those that have the same features.

This camera can move in different direction to cover a big area, you can view live footage or recorded footage from your phone from anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access.

The solar panel will act as a top up to recharge the built in battery, over the month of summer it should not need charging from mains. Winter months it may need to be plugged into USB socket to charge up. The built in flood light is nice and bright, adding extra security over the area it monitors.

The app is nice and easy to follow, step by step instruction on how to set it up. I get notification on my phone when it detect moving object, you have option for it to record video and voice on a SD card for free or on their cloud server for a monthly fee. It can be used as a 2 way communication device depends on internet connection speed, you can talk to the person near the cctv with your phone, great for instructing delivery driver at driveway.

Easy to set up and cloud edge app does all of the work in doing this, no wires as camera is solar and uses WiFi. Overall very good results and recommended as a cheap option for security. Support from Anran is also good.

    Very good value

There are loads of relatively low cost CCTV cameras around, unfortunately most are rubbish, something that certainly can’t be said about this one. It really is superb. Not only that, the camera is powered by an inbuilt rechargeable battery, with interconnecting decent quality Solar Panel, which I have found keeps the camera battery charged. So long as the panel is placed facing (any point) between South and West, and that you are not heavily using lights etc; this should stay charged, even in Winter.

The camera is really well-made, exceptionally good quality, with a decent mounting bracket, the whole thing being reasonably robust, but obviously not vandal-resistant.

The camera utilises the ‘Cloudedge’ app; which I already have installed, since I already use it. The app is generally good, and the camera was up and running in a couple of minutes. Connection / adding to the app is simple and straightforward, without fuss or drama.

The Wi-Fi range is brilliant, way better than many similar product I’ve tried before. The camera is Pan and Tilt (but not Zoom — Digital aside), very well-featured, with (IR) night-vision, motion detection activation, siren / lights, audio etc, and more. a long-lasting battery between charges. Pan facility is, unfortunately, not continuous rotation, so at either extreme, you can’t continue round, meaning you have to travel all the way back round. However, this is as expected, being relatively inexpensive.

Capture image is excellent (1080P), with decent low-light level operation (the camera has inbuilt IR). Iris operation is good, and doesn’t overly suffer back-light issues. Response to controls is pretty good, with low latency, but the occasional image glitch though. Motion detected snapshot images are likely to miss the actual event if the intruder walks across the field of view do to a slight (seconds) delay in camera ‘wake-up’, but you will receive the alert nonetheless. — a really good all-round performer.

The camera has a micro-SD card slot for storage (up to 128 Gb), which is great. You can, if desired, configure for cloud storage, which is particularly useful if you are worried about security — in that if the camera is stolen by intruders seeing it (and wanting to cover their tracks, so to speak), the recordings aren’t lost as well. However, even without cloud storage, (if you’ve configured), motion detected images / alerts are pushed to your phone, and stored in your phone’s memory, although very difficult to extract.

Do bear in mind, that being a Pan and Tilt camera, you need to be very aware and careful how you use, with regards privacy. The camera doesn’t have adjustable ‘stops’ (to restrict pan and tilt function), or privacy masking, which you wouldn’t expect on a basic / inexpensive device.

Overall, this is a seriously good piece of kit, and something I can very happily recommend, it really is super. As with 99% of similar, relatively inexpensive cameras, one niggle is that the app isn’t available for Windows. Although you can use an Android emulator I’ve never found them that good to be honest. Pretty annoyingly, the camera cannot be linked to Alexa. Whilst Alexa supports the ‘Cloudedge’ skill, it is only for certain camera manufacturers, Anran not being one of them. For that reason, the camera rating score I have given is 4 stars, instead of 5.

I hope this has been helpful

This camera is doing its job,After a series of car break ins I purchased it to try and deter these. It seems to work very well.Any night time detection automatically ty a spot light on and starts recording. The night time picture is very good when the spot light is activated switching from black and white to colour. So far so good. Ps very easy to set up and install and no wiring needed.

Been in use for a month and all seems good

Perfect for the front of my house. I have one similar at the back which works the same way with solar power.

I live alone and like to feel safe. What better a way than to have electronic eyes to the front and back of my property!

My partner put it up and I of course connected it seeing as he hasn’t a clue when it comes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or the like he’s nifty with a drill and screwdriver so not complaining!

I have plenty of sun at the front of my house so it’s a perfect spot to keep the solar panel ticking over.

I’ve only had it up a couple of days but I’m pretty pleased with its functionality and how easily you can add other users already.

I got my partner and son to also download the app as it can be monitored remotely, well I had to do it for my boyfriend

The camera has the ability to pan and tilt so great for surveying my front driveway. The two way sound isn’t too bad either although not perfect but audible enough

I don’t really need the cloud storage as I have that covered with my other devices.

In conjunction with my internal cameras, ring doorbell bell and now external cameras I feel very safe.

So far I’m pleased. An update in the future should there be any issues.

Good value and should keep any burglars off your property.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersEasy to setup, although scanning the QR code outside was a bit hit and miss and you need to complete this step to sync it with your phone app.

Easy to setup and the app is straight forward. Mine gets about 80% sunlight throughout the day and this is more than enough to keep the battery fully charged.

Night mode works really well and when moving the camera around it will switch on the mini flood lights temporarily which is nice. Installed a 32Gb SD card and have left it doing it’s thing for the last couple of months, not sure it purges old video files automatically as I haven’t taken the card out to check.

What I was suprised at was the fact you can control the camera via the phone app anywhere, you don’t need to be connected to the same WIFI, you could be on holiday checking in etc which is a really usefull feature, and the connections encrypted each time for peace of mind.

    Definitely worth the money.

It was really a big surprise to receive the goods. I took it out as soon as I received it. The appearance is very pleasing, the packaging is very tight, and the workmanship is not bad.
This product tells me that my concerns are superfluous, install the cable, insert the memory card, plug in the power supply, download the mobile phone software, and connect to the monitor, just a few simple steps, without any complicated options, you can see it in ten minutes the monitor starts to work, the mobile phone software can see the situation within the monitoring range anytime, anywhere, the camera can control its monitoring range on the mobile phone, the monitoring screen is very clear, and the night mode is not mentioned,
I recommend everyone to buy this monitoring device, absolutely satisfied All you need!

This is really nice design and was operational after installing in minutes. Truly a good design that will give you lots of quality images and recordings without complex infrastructure. I charged the camera internal battery using the usb port and supplied cable, then installed solar above the camera in a good location that would use sensibly the 355 horizontal rotation arc and the 90 vertical ovement. Initially i put 120GB microSD card in it for backup and recording and then installed the CloudEdge App. It was easy to setup, easy to change default passwords to secure the camera from prying eyes or hackers. The app is grest as you get full PTZ control and all the oyher features of the xamera and CkoudEdge motion detection zones and various modes. Fantastic actually. I then reinstalled this with my resident NVR system fir my other cameras. It worked perfectly and was easy to setup too and use the huge HDDs for recording. Oversll its weatherproof and putting the solar above it acts like a shelter and i woukd strongly suggest that is done. In the last few months it hasnt needed additional charging via USB. I’m impressed given its amazing value for money. Highly recommended, Andrew.

This is a quality solar powered camera which is easy set up. The Wi-Fi strength is excellent even through walls and the picture is very clear. Only issue I had was inserting the SD card as it didn’t fit correctly and fell into the camera. This issue has been resolved.

Loved installing this with no power cable. Worked exactly as required from the outset. Adjusted the sensitivity to detect human activity and it does just that, although at first a billowing cover on garden furniture triggered the camera but this was rectified by tweaking the sensitivity back a little. The battery remains fully charged most of the time despite poor weather. Picture quality is acceptable and I have peace of mind when away from the house. The app is intuitive and easy to use. The speaker in the camera is quite powerful for a small device and could be very useful as an intruder deterrent. I may consider buying another unit for house front at some point.

    Summary
Feature rich solar powered Wifi CCTV camera with talkback and alarm function – good price too.

    Solar Panel
This camera can be solar powered via the provided solar panel. This is convenient for me as I do not have an external power supply near the camera location.

    Mounting location
TIP: If using the solar panel, make sure the location gets plenty of daylight / direct sunlight, including winter time. There are templates provided in the box to help you drill the holes more accurately. All wall plugs and screws are provided in the box.

    Mobile App
The camera is accessible via the mobile app, called “Cloudedge”. I downloaded this app from AppStore and was all set up in a couple of minutes. I have another camera attached to Cloudedge, and found it easy to display them together within the app and zoom onto one of the images by ‘double-tapping’ the image you want to enlarge.

    Image quality and Video
The camera can record SD or HD video and the quality is very good. Night vision is good too although in black and white in auto mode. There is a slight delay from the camera to your mobile device, this affects the delivery of live video and also controlling the camera with the PTZ function.

    Pan Tilt Zoom
The camera PTZ function is very good. Within the app there is a button to display the disk to adjust the viewing direction of the camera. Note that I tried controlling the camera from work (a few miles away) through the mobile network and this worked very well.

    Night Vision
I tend to disable this feature and put an external light source in the camera area. This ensures full colour video and images.

    Storage
There is an SD card slot in the camera or you also can choose to pay monthly to have image and video storage via the “Cloudedge” app. The local storage is adequate enough, but I used a 32GB card to ensure there is plenty of space to keep historical clips. Downloading the app is essential to access and control the camera and I found that pairing it with the camera was straight forward too.

Very good Solar Powered pan/Tilt/Zoom wireless camera - 5 stars

This camera comes well.packaged and the instruction manual was very easy to follow.
Setup was easy using a qr code on your phone and holding it in front of the camera. Because it has a battery there was no need to have it plugged in to set it up either!
The included stickers for screw placement were a great touch and installation was easy with a 6mm masonry bit.
Apparently the battery can last a year without charging but this is obviously depending on how much you view it, move the motors and how much movement the camera records. This camera only records when there is movement so the solar panel is just to keep the battery topped up.
The solar panel some with a very long cable soni place the camera on the side of the house and the solar panel on the rear of my south facing garden somitnwill get sun all year round.
Picture quality is very good at 1080p and the inbuilt microphone and speaker are very good for a camera this size.
I would definitely reccomend this to anyone who doesn’t want to drill holes through their walls or need a camera in a more remote place.

Easy to install and works brilliantly

This is the newer model than the one I bought almost a year ago. I specially like the 360deg view function. It’s a much better improvement from the previous pan only model.

In addition, the solar powered function will save a lot of drilling and electrical mess about. It’s ideal for outdoor camera application.

The picture quality is HD and it’s good enough for domestic usage.

The build quality is good and the price is competitive.

It doesn’t come with micro SD memory card which I will need to buy. But It won’t put me off buying form this retailer.

This is the third purchase of a Anran security camera and I can honestly say their products are excellent value for money. I like the easy setup using the app on a mobile phone; pairing to the wifi first, then you position the camera where you will be fixing it and completing the connection using your mobile, it’s as simple as that. The picture quality during the daytime and at night is astonishing.
I love the separate solar panel idea and the fixing bracket allows the panel to be precisely positioned towards the sun. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for a security camera where you are remote with no access to a power supply.

Update: after a month of use the battery only had 10% power left and required charging from a mains extension lead.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWhat I like about this camera is that its very easy to install. Fittings are provided and there are no need to drill trough the house walls as its solar powered. The camera can even be placed elsewhere, such as in the garden, as long as it’s in reach of your home wi-fi. The wi-fi signal/connection is strong even through my houses thick walls. The device can also be powered via USB if you don’t want to depend on the solar panel, so far I’ve found the panel more than sufficient. Set up is relatively straight forward and the app is very easy to use. It is a different app to my home CCTV system but I kind of like having the two independent of each other. The picture quality is excellent both at night and in the day and the two way communication works perfectly. It has settings for alarms and motion alerts and can be moved in direction via the app. Its a great security feature and installing a 128gb card enables me to record over a weeks worth of footage. I’m really happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI found this Anran cctv solar camera very easy to install. Once it was attached to the wall i could use it straight away. I just had to configure it on my phone and set a password. Once that was done I could use the app to set up other options to control preset positions and adjust motion sensitivity.
The app I use is easy to configure and control the camera and having the benefit of bing able to see what is happening away from home gives peace of mind. I found the motion sensitivity a little to high so I reduced it so I wasn’t getting so many warnings sent to my phone.

The recorded images are really high quality and very clear. The night time viewing is also very clear with the IR, and if it detects movement at night it has built in flood lights which I thought was nifty.

I connected mine to power as well as the solar. But it runs fine just from the solar and the installed battery. Just try get the solar panel in a position that it gets most of the sun throughout the day.

I haven’t tried the cloud storage so I dont know what that is like but I put 128gb sd card in and that give me about 5 days of play back footage.
An IP NVR would be my next investment so I can have longer storage

Overall I’m very pleased with this camera and its options to move in all direction and the motion tracking is very good too.

I like the quality of the picture and how the camera stores motion detection videos. To replay captured videos you can choose any day with videos then watch all of them, for that day, played in a row.
I installed the camera, 400 meters away from an outside WiFi repeater, two weeks ago. It was pretty simple to set up. I have charged the battery once since installing it. I put the camera close to a beach on our farm so I could watch the big waves coming ashore in rough weather. I watched it a lot the first few days when it was very windy and the waves were huge. Because it was being used a lot when there was virtually no sun the battery went down. Since I charged it it has kept the charge level nearly full with it’s own solar panel. I think this is a great little camera for what it cost and for occasional viewing in low light situations, like here in the winter, I am sure it will self charge to monitor and record videos. In decent light I would think it will always have sufficient charge. The camera picks up the wifi better than my mobile phone at the same spot.

Handy little camera with quality picture.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving used other ANRAN CCTV cameras with great success, I had a need to find one that was solar powered for a location without power and found this model. The setup uses a newer and different application to my other cameras, but the setup of the camera and connecting to my wifi was very straightforward. Despite being a smaller size to other PTZ cameras I have used the image quality and especially with night vison is really good, and would highly recommend, the compact size can only be a bonus. I have had this a few weeks now and the battery level % has hardly changed, so despite the limited sun at this time of year, the battery / solar charging seems very good so far.

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersOne of the first reviews of this camera on Amazon so it is lengthy – hope its helpful

Arrived in the customary white and blue box, well packaged, solar panel on top with the instruction leaflet placed upon it in the recess — a nice touch. Underneath is the camera, the bundle of power cord for the solar panel and a USB cable (USB2 to USB Micro, note NOT USB C) a screw template plus 2 screw packs for the camera and solar panel with a spare screw. Not sure what the packaging material is, it is quite glossy to the touch so presumably some form of expanded plastic.

Made of the usual ANRAN style hard white plastic and the camera feels solid and of good quality with all the access ports well sealed or hidden beneath. Note that the camera does not come with a MicroSD card (8-128GB Class 10) but that is only needed for local storage and the camera will apparently work without it if attached to a Wi-Fi router.

I located the charging point in the base and connected it via the USB cable to a standard phone charger. Took about two hours. A small red LED illuminates next to the power socket when power is applied and turns blue when charged (not mentioned in the manual).

This is my first experience with a battery-powered CCTV device, and I was impressed with the flexibility it offers in terms of mounting – essentially anywhere it can receive the 2.4Ghz signal from my router. The downside of course is that it only records when activated by the motion sensor, which was the reason I originally purchased a more traditional powered Wi-Fi system with an NVR recording 24/7. The latter is limited by power source location and this camera is intended to fill a gap in coverage in an area of the garden where there is no power. Like all battery cameras there is a wake-up time of 2 or 3 seconds – note for event recording you need to allow a pretty long period or whoever triggered the alarm will be long gone.

Points to note — mounting point needs to be accessible — IR CCTV cameras attract spiders and their webs and you need to clean the lens from time to time, but not too accessible!

So, once my microSD card arrived, I started the set-up. Registering an account with the CloudEdge app is straightforward — you can also share with up to 6 family members. Inserting the microSD card is a little hairy — there is an orientation diagram with dire warnings but it went in easy enough, often to latch a microSD you need a tool of some kind if you have fat fingers like mine, but I could do this with my fingertips. Switch on required a push on the button for a few seconds then a red light illuminated on the front of the camera. Pairing with my Wi-Fi and the app was a breeze and then a blue light appears. I have had issues in the past using a mobile phone to conduct a device pairing when you have a dual channel router and both channels have the same name, but I experienced no issues and all was connected after a few moments following the clearly explained procedure in the instruction leaflet. I liked the QR code being read by the camera. Note that when in position a blue light appears when the camera is activated and connected — this is very obvious at night, similarly the IR lights glow red and are easily seen

Once paired the app directs you to take a site survey and confirm the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough at the intended location. I had already scouted potential sites with a Wi-Fi analyser and knew it was OK, but it is still a good feature: nothing worse than installing a Wi-Fi device and then finding the signal is inadequate after it’s too late! My location is about 30 metres from the router and the app reported a 62% signal strength, although later that evening it reported 100%. The router is in a direct line with the camera with only a window between (partly why I chose the location).

I mounted the camera on a short wood offcut after connecting the solar panel (approx. 3 metre cable attached through a plastic ‘bung’, I noticed there is a smaller bung supplied with the screws to stop up that hole presumably if you don’t use the solar panel which is a nice touch). Note that the bottom of three screws is obscured by the camera which means you need to put the bottom one in centrally, slide the camera under the screw head (adjusting for tightness, so it took a few goes to get it right) and then screw in the top two screws. I then screwed the offcut to the side of an outbuilding. This method meant I got close to 300 degrees coverage rather than putting it on a wall or a tree trunk. After making sure all was working with the app, I then attached the solar panel (south facing) close by and tidied away the spare cable. 3 metres of cable means you can place the solar panel in an area that gets full sun while putting the camera somewhere shadier where it won’t be dazzled. Interestingly with all the waving about and going up and down ladders the camera remained connected throughout

Playing with the app I discovered it has good smooth pan and tilt, the zoom is digital and soon pixelates but it is fine as a surveillance tool. At night I had not thought about the IR illumination, and it does scatter back off the roof immediately in front of it, tilting up a bit helped a lot but its worth thinking about if you have anything reflective near the camera. IR coverage is good, at least 25 metres

It has tipped down here over the past few days and I noticed that rain can collect around the lens of the camera, shifting it into wind and adjusting the tilt blew most of it off. I also had what appeared to be some condensation on the lens but it has gone now.

Alarm management is through the app. There are various options to control sensitivity (the motion detection is tuned to humans), how long recordings are made once an alarm is triggered and a period to generate alerts which come though the app as notifications. This can be set by day(s) and you can set numerous time periods to cope with day/night at home or away etc. For example, you can have a simple overnight alert period 2000=0700 every day and also individual time periods outside that when you are working or whatever. I have tested the motion detection and it works fine and does not seem to alert on small animals like dogs (we have 3 running around) or chickens. You can also set lights and sound alarms including a steady floodlight (see photo 5) and a strobe/siren which is quite loud, especially at night. Not sure how far the detection range is as the geography of our site forces you to walk past at about 8-10 metres.

Battery management is through the app too. By the time I had installed the camera daylight was fading so the camera was on battery, but the next morning I noticed it was charging when the gloom lifted briefly. As far as I can see that’s the only way to be sure the solar panel is working. The panel seems to require direct sunlight, not just daylight, but it does charge quickly — 10% battery in around 45 minutes.

So, in summary I am impressed. Marked down the motion detection because of the wake-up time but that’s a feature of battery cameras. I reckon the night picture is better than the day picture (see 4th photo)

Its been up a week so far, I will update in a month or two

NB since i published the photo order changed, first photo is night picture with LED floodlights, second is of night IR picture
    *Update 19 Jan 22*
Not sure what’s changed but the solar panel appears to be charging at lower light levels now. Battery is being maintained at 100% except on really dreary days
One night recently we were frequently passing the camera while it was set to alert. It must have alerted a dozen times.Afterwards the camera refused to respond to the app, a reset sorted it out

    *Update 2 June 22*
Still going strong and alerts are reliable. Just moved the app from one phone to another with no issues

    *update 28 June 22*
No issues, been away on holiday within the EU and logged in remotely via the phone app on hotel WiFi and 4g data. All worked fine, you get a data warning if you are using 4g but its not too hungry. Alerts still arrive even though we were roaming. Data is encrypted

Straight out of the box surveillance

It must have alerted a dozen times.Afterwards the camera refused to respond to the app, a reset sorted it ou

Straight out of the box surveillance

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWas a bit worried at first no fault of the Camera more the positioning of were i needed the camera to fit. this camera is directly facing my hard wired system atatched to the house no proble in the daylight but at night when the infa-red kicked in was worried that it would get blinded by it.
You can see by the photo’s this was not the case.
my other concern was WIFI and being solar self charging and the rear of my property being mostly in the shade as well as winter would the battery self charge cope.
This again was no problem i really cant find a fault the sound quality on this camera ( 2 way as well ) is excellent too.
I have had ring doorbell fitted in the past and the quality of this picture and sound, alert speed is by far better.
The Movement is easy via the app at home or away the control does exactly what you want and the alert is just as fast.
This Camera performs way beyond my expectations and helps out brilliantly in a blind spot that if it was not for this camera and its performance i would have struggled to cover.

Highly recommended' Brilliant Piece of Kit.

Very good Camera, easy to install and connect to the wifi and app.
You don’t have to worry about running any cables, it’s completely wireless. Just needs to be in range of the wifi.
Great picture quality . PTZ function works well and is very controllable.
Pir picks up human movements and notifies the app every time, with an included snap shot.
The solar panel keeps the camera battery charged.
Very pleased with the quality and functionality of this camera.

    Nice Camera, Easy installatio

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe ANRAN Wireless Solar Camera is a great device for a wire free installation with minimal fuss and hassle. The device is small and compact, has a nice modern design and the attached solar panel keeps the battery well charged for day to day use.

The installation couldn’t be easier. As long as you have WiFi in range and somewhere to place the solar panel in direct sunlight you can place it anywhere in seconds. The price is fair and reasonable, the ease of setup is great thanks to the phone app that enables you to connect it on WiFi and once connected you can access a live feed, access recordings, move the camera and setup and use some of the more advnaced features such as PIR Motion Alerts or two way audio.

Price is fair and reasonable, overall value for money is great and lovely looking camera.

This is my third Anran camera & can confirm their quality is a match with some of the best & better known brands and even better against some of the others.

I bought this as a gift for someone, i seen the camera being set up & the build quality seems top quality, the picture quality is good and the app works well. Only time will tell how it lasts against the British weather but i have confidence it will be fine.
