Good sound quality and noise cancellation. Battery life is very poor. When fully charged the battery life on the left side earbud won’t last longer than 40 min while the right side will go on for 1 hour and 30 min.

For the cost of these pods I can not fault them. Clear sound and great noise cancellation. Up to 12hrs battery life which again is brilliant. I would highly recommend these quality ear pods

These are excellent wireless headphones. They were easy to set up and provide that signature B&O sound, very detailed and wonderfully balanced. Have had no problems with fit, comfort or drop out of signal. The B&O app allows for customisation of sound, you don’t need it to set these up. The operation, by tapping on the sides, takes a bit of getting used to but after some practice it feels natural. Overall I’m very pleased and would recommend this product.

For the price they sound great, the trouble with a lot of headphones is that they tune more for bass frequencies, these don’t and to my ears sound much more balanced. I own in ear phones costing nearly twice as much and while they are good they are no better.

Great quality product, although not cheap, the charging case has a leather finish and a decent length USB cable. The ear buds are very comfortable to wear and the sound is superb. Admittedly the Bluetooth connection has at times been a little tricky. There is also a great B&O app which allows you to change the characteristics ot the sound and report an faults on line. Worth the money….

At first, after trying to connect these to my phone about 10 times without success I was frustrated and ready to send them back. When I tried to pair them with my Bluetooth it came up with a notification every time saying “an app is needed to use this device.” But I had the app. Following the app it told me to pair it with my device via Bluetooth. Which took me back to aforementioned notification. It seemed like they would never connect and I was in Bluetooth limbo.
Finally it suddenly decided to do it!! I have no idea why as I did nothing differently and had restarted about 10 times.
Now they connect every time straight away. Sound is brilliant as per usual with B&O and customisable.
The controls take a bit of getting used to but I’m glad I stuck with them! Really comfortable and secure fit with additional sized ear pieces.
Battery life isn’t the best but for first generation and the price, it’s as expected and does the job I need them to.

Premium feel and build quality. These are a quality pair of buds with great sound quality, comfortable fit and good noise cancelling features.
However the do loose connection when there’s too much movement so I wouldn’t recommend them for running with. Also they where a little tricky to connection to my Galaxy S20 phone. For some reason they will not connect to Android phones with downloading the app first.
Apart from that, an excellent produc

EDIT: after 2 months the Bluetooth stopped working. Amazon referred me to B&O who replaced them with a brand new 3rd generation set but I’ve sold them and bought Apple AirPod Pros.

    I have now had:

    Sennheiser Momentum TW
    Cambridge Audio Melomania
    These B&O E8 version 1

So even those these are only v1, I got them because of how cheap they are. These WERE 280, so they are a bargain now. Newer versions have wireless charging, a silver trim on the case, and longer battery life. Really worth the extra???

Firstly – the case is stunning. Leather looks abs feels great. Inside a bit cheaper but on a par with the Sennheiser and Cambridge Audio plastics. The earphones themselves are similar in design to Sennheisers if it a little more stylish.

Second – sound. In my opinion, the sound quality of these is vastly superior to the Sennheisers and noticeably better than the Cambridge Audio. But for 60 – they are incredible. There aren’t even any wires earphones to touch them at this price. And if the default B&O sound isn’t to your liking, the app acts as a DSP to tailor it to your taste.

Third – battery life isn’t wonderful. Not as good as the Sennheiser and nowhere near the Cambridge Audio. However, the Sennheisers would discharge in the case so technically the B&O can last longer when not in use. Charging takes very little time.

I’d recommend these in a heartbeat. Sound is amazing and they are silly cheap compared to their real world competition.

I was given these a a birthday present which means I have 3 different sets.
    1. Apple air pods approx 150 and even upwards to 200. From Apple
    2. Treks titanium by aftershock. 99 Amazon
    3. B&O Beoplay E8 as detailed above. 79 Amazon
The B&O are by far better for quality for sounds and music. There is also an app for beoplay E8 which means you can change the bass and tone for your music. Once you put the ear pieces in your ear you notice that it instantly cuts out the noise around you. Then you put the music on and it’s amazing quality. You can turn the volume up by tapping your right ear piece or on your phone. Answering a call is so easy and is a good quality, however, dare anyone interrupt me when I happily playing my music lol.
Connecting the ear pieces to your Bluetooth on your phone is so easy so once your connected off you go. There are several different sized soft buds that can be interchanged to suit the size of your inner ear that makes it comfortable for you.
I would recommend these especially as the quality of music is really a aiming and the price is so good.

Very happy with these. I got the 1st gen ones at a great price (think they’re up to third get now, and 3 times the price of mine).

The only reason I’ve scored 1 star for noise cancellation is that they’re NOT noise cancelling. There’s a degree of passive cancellation because they’re actually in-ear, but they haven’t been designed (and don’t claim) to be noise cancelling.

Sound quality is amazing – hearing new things in old familiar songs that I’ve never heard on other high quality speakers and ear phones.

Nice product. Good sound quality and nice looking. Reasonably comfortable. Looked at lots of alternatives I’m noise cancelling ranges and couldn’t decide. These do the job. Bit irritating that don’t have built in charger like Jlab. Also not the easiest to pair with Bluetooth and you need to download app which frankly doesn’t do a lot in terms of sound options. If I wasn’t bothered about sound quality or brand I would go with cheaper products which do similar job but sound quality is definitely better.

on ipad took 6 minutes to set up. On galaxy 10 almost 5 hours not kidding so to let you enjoy and not have the horror. You must clear the Bluetooth data before starting on your android. Press and hold the buds for 10 seconds this will reset them although they only did this after I connected then my ipad first , only then did the red light to confirm they were reset. Other than that fab

This is another incredible product from Bang & Olufsen. The discounted price only enhanced the buying experience. This is a quality product, with sound for the discerning B&O-lover and would probably not suit those looking for constant thudding bass. The case is well made and the battery life more than adequate. Bluetooth connection has also been excellent. I’ve used this product now for a couple of months and have no complaints at this stage. I sincerely hope that B&O will continue to build on this level of product for upgrades and updates, and that they do not start cutting corners for profit over quality as happens with so many other other companies.

Update – Three years or so on and these are still going strong and I have not yet felt the need to upgrade to the next generation. I have since tried various over-ear headphones at home (I do not wear these out and about as I prefer to stay alert) and I found that the sound quality of these B&O earbuds is just as good, if not better than most of these over-ear headphones! The popular brands seem to get most of the attention and praise in the good old mainstream press, but these are difficult to beat in my opinion.

Picture the scene: a heavy, lumbering, middle-age man, out for a run, in what proved to be the wrong shoes. The shoes were designed for trail running, but on a summer’s day with a little mud and no ice. I was running down a hill with a lot of mud and a lot of ice. I slipped and fell.
I’m no stranger to slipping and falling. I have learned a few things. One thing I learned is that falling quickly is sore.
Take that time I half-fell into a huge puddle of mud and ice: my right leg dived into the abyss, while my left knee took all the impact on the ground. Sore.
Take that time I came off a motorbike at 60mph and my left wrist took all the impact. Even sorer.
Most falls are less dramatic, and you get a split-second to decide how to go down.
I’ve learned that the best way is to roll. Try not to catch yourself with your hands or knees. Just roll as much as you can. For me, it can make the difference between being wet and being broken. I’m not getting any younger, and one bad fall can break my spirit for good. It’s not life versus death, but it is a happy life versus a sad life, and that difference matters. So, just roll, and roll, and worry about the mud later. Mud washes off, but the pain of regret does not.
In this case, I was rolling in that ice and mud for a little over 10 feet. Nothing too dramatic. Maybe two or three rolls before I stopped at the bottom. Covered in mud, but nothing hurt. Not even my pride.
That’s where the review comes in. I had these li’l beauties in my ears the whole time and they stayed there the whole time. They did not move a millimetre. The sound remained crisp and the tunes kept flowing. I got up, started running again, and enjoyed those crystal clear tunes on my pain free run home.
On the other hand, they don’t automatically connect to my phone when I turn them on. So, that’s why they don’t get 5 stars.

I was abit sceptical when I ordered this product as it had poor reviews around bluetooth connectivity and poor bass.

The initial set up was problematic and not straight forward as other reviews have stated, I work in IT and it took me about 30 minutes to get them set up after a few issues, mine were showing as paired but not connecting to resolve this issue (on Android device Samsung S10) I went into settings > Apps > click on the 3 dots in the right corner > Show System Apps > Scroll to Bluetooth > click storage then clear data and the cache. Once I done this and re-paired the devices it works perfectly, soon as I load Bluetooth up they auto connect seamlessly.

Now on the standard settings the bass is somewhat underwhelming, however if you go into the Bang & Olufsen App under listening modes you can create a custom setting by moving the dot into the warm segment you can tailor the bass to your requirements, this transformed the sound quality for me.

Another tip is to remove the rubber tips that come on the device and replace them with the foam ones in the box, these give you an experience like no other, with average volume and foam buds its a pure noise cancellation experience and the bass is much deeper.

    Well worth the money.

This product is good, sad I had to return them because they were a good price at 120 and sounded good.

The problems were battery life, and not being able to connect to the app sometimes cut outs but nothing major. Didn’t auto connect to my phone, I had to reconnect by going to Bluetooth settings.

Technology has moved on Abit since these were released.

These earbuds are great quality, the audio is great and the carrying case is a good compact size. They can be worn for hours at a time with absolutely no discomfort at all.
Rated 4 stars because the earbuds can not be used independently of each other (the right acts as a master to the left). Also the earbuds do not connect automatically when turned on, which is slightly annoying.
I had a technical issue with my first pair, where the sound in the right ear was not as loud as the left, but this was very easily sorted by b&o and got them replaced.
Overall a very good pair of earbuds, especially at this reduced price.

  42. Anonymous says:

Only issue for me is battery. What happens is that the left earbud fails first, while the app and the phone inform you you still have 100% battery life. So somehow the app fails to tell you that the right bud is on full power but the left is about to die. I don’t understand why the left, which perhaps is doing all the grunt work, and the right don’t lose power equivalently

Better quality and far superior sound over the apple airpods. Had airpods for over a year now and the sound kept muffling so took the pricey jump to these. Quality is much better and the sound is class the only niggle i have is the touchpad is abit poor and doesnt respond as you want it to. Double tap to skip track and it actually pauses then you have to get your phone out to play the song. Probably would of been better to have a physical button rather then a touchpad.
Other then that defo worth a purchase

Great pair of earphones. Bluetooth a bit erratic at times, with left bud dropping out and requiring you to angle your head a certain way. The buds were twice rejected by my phone which meant a factory reset of the buds and no problems after that.

After trying several types or true wireless earphones,I must say i was pleasantly impressed by these. Sound quality is great, very clean trebles and the sound can be modified just by changing earbuds, I compare them to a very good pair of wired headphones. Very qualitative materials too which can be crucial given the kind of product. Happily surprised

  46. Anonymous says:

I’ll keep this short (ish). Over the years I’ve tried dozens of wireless headphones, from the cheap knockoffs all the way to Beats and above, yet none of them give you sound quality like these!
Sure, you’d expect B&O to provide quality sound, that’s their thing, but I wasn’t expecting anything this good from something so small. Gestures are easy to learn, the design is beautiful and they fit better than any other in-ear headphones. The memory foam tips are incredible also and you don’t get that horrible friction putting them in like with normal silicon tips. They do stick out a little, but it’s worth it for the enjoyment of how simple they are to setup and use.

One negative which seems to be an issue with all truly wireless headphones is that they just won’t sync the sound properly whilst watching stuff on YouTube. Never understood why YouTube seems be everyone’s downfall.

If you have the cash spare, you won’t regret buying these. And like I said, use the memory foam buds as they’re just brilliant.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is my second pair of “truly wireless” earbuds, having bought (and returned) a Bose pair.

The E8s are pretty great. The sound quality is great (with the option of fiddling with the EQ in a general way through the app) and the buds are discrete. They are bigger than a wired pair (obviously) but I think they look neater than other “truly wireless” earbuds I’ve used and seen. The touch controls work great. I initially found I was accidentally hitting the controls at times, but have got used to that. The charging case is nice and small and battery life is good. I’ve not had any connectivity issues and have used them in the house, commuting, out walking etc. All in all they work exactly as they should.

Minus points aren’t in my view major. I haven’t really used in ear buds before so it took a little while getting used to having them in my ear canal, but the comply foam tips that come with them are comfortable. There is a transparency mode on the earbuds that lets you hear your surroundings through the music if you tap the left earbud. This is a nice idea, but the ambient audio feeds in through the mics on the buds resulting in a weird cavernous sound. When you talk you hear your voice through the mics and it’s a bit weird. I found it too odd to use out in public if I had to talk to someone (e.g. dealing with someone in a shop, etc.).

I suppose the main downside is the price, which is a little bit eye watering. Still, you get what you pay for.

I’ve had these ear phones for over 3 months now. The sound quality is fantastic! When I use the Comply ear tips, that come with them, there is a good degree of noise cancellation as well. The battery life is definitely good enough for me; there are very few times I would listen to music for more than 4 hours. The case itself is very small, I often put these in my jeans pocket with my wallet.

There are a few small issues to take into account though, depending on how you plan to use them.
The controls aren’t brilliant. All the controls essentially come down to tapping on the buds in different ways, and they aren’t very sensitive; I quite often try to switch tracks and instead pause the music.
The microphones and audio transparency are rubbish, in my opinion. I tried to talk to a few people on the earbuds and repeatedly had to turn them off; the buds seems to pick up a lot of noise in the surrounding environment, which makes using the microphones impractical when out and about. The audio transparency is incredibly quiet and it doesn’t really seem to pick voices up well.

Overall, the E8’s are fantastic, if you are looking for some earbuds that sound brilliant. The microphones and audio transparency are poor, so I wouldn’t plan to make a lot of calls with them.

I bought this so I could conceal the use of my noise cancellation headphones for use on the London Tube and the noise isolation and transparency modes on this work just great. Also allow me to listen to conversations as I choose. So no more telegraphing the use of expensive headphones.

I’ve been trying to strike a balance between:
    Portability
    Sound quality
    Comfort
    Having tried out:
    Sennheiser M2
    B&W PX
    Sony MH1000x
    B@O H9
    Bose QC35II
    AKG N60NC

I can say I’ve tried quite a broad range of 200 – 400 options. Apple earphones of any type just don’t work for me on the comfort and lack of isolation perspective.

Some of those I tried did well in one or more ways, but only the E8 have met all 3 for me. I’ve opted for Comply tips which I find really comfortable and they offer superb noise isolation – for me, much better than ANC.

Anyway, really pleased, battery hasn’t been a problem at all and not having a cable of any sort or a headband is great.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThese are a stunning piece of design from the earbuds themselves down to the case – Everything oozes quality.

The sound quality is generally superb and can be tweaked using the BeoPlay app to tailor the sound one of four ways and to increase the overall soundstage. There is a decent amount of base, although not excessive like Beats, and a crystal clear sound with no absolutely no hiss. Thankfully, the volume goes loud enough when used with my iPhone 7+.

Pairing is easy enough if you read the little book that is supplied. A number of tips are supplied and one should fit in most cases.

I have not experienced any connection issues and hope that this will continue – It seems other wireless earphones can suffer with this.

I am very happy with my choice but the transparency mode could have been made into active noise cancelling as well as letting in some ambient noise.

These are expensive but, thankfully, the overall build and sound quality sort of justifies the price tag.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersVery good. Just be aware that unlike what another review states there is NO active noice canceling in these
