This is a well made toy which would be great for investigative learning at home- and equally great in an early years setting.
I am currently using it in my Reception class and the children have really enjoyed using it. It comes with 19 little dinosaurs, addition cards and weighted numbers. The weighted numbers will weight the same as the same number of dinosaurs- so you can use it to aid counting and number recognition, or addition. The dinosaur egg in the middle moves as you weigh and is a good fun based way of child led learning provision. Or play based learning at home. My only query was that the number 2- back to front and upside do down can easily be misled for a number 5- so soon sorted when you put 5 dinosaurs on the scales and realise that it doesn’t balance- I thought it was an error initially and then realised that it was not the number 5 after all!
A great fun based learning product, especially great for dinosaur lovers too!

This balance math game seems well made straight from the box and definitely child proof!!

It is very interactive and should be good for basic mathematic principals.

It’s simply a balance, with child friendly weights and is a good way to introduce this concept to kids without them realising it.

my 5 year old and i had fun playing with this balance game. Its really simple, balance the number on one side with the dinosaur toys on the other. He got the principle quickly and when he was done with simple matching we there in addition and subtraction as well which he loved. its not the best quality but works really well and really helped.

This is a fun way to teach children about weights. Especially if you have dinasour obsessed child like I do! The pieces are all made of plastic. The numbers are quite big and colourful. They weight the equivalent number of dinasours. Very fun but the small dinosaurs can be so easily misplaced

Fun but easy to lose the small dinasours

My Grandchildren really enjoyed playing this game together and I can’t recommend it enough, for the price you really are getting so much, I didn’t expect it all.

The kids were ages 4, 3, and 2, and they enjoyed learning how to share, taking turns and best of all counting! My eldest Grandchild is about to begin School so this was a fantastic toy for them to really learn. Not to mention Children really love Dinosaurs, the colours really excite them and bring them in so I can’t recommend this enough. It’s very good quality and durable, even with toddlers being heavy handed with it.

The toy is fun and is sure to keep kids interested in it, my Grandchildren keep asking to play with it whenever they turn up.

    Balance maths game

I was sent this in return for my honest opinion on it.

This is a fab little toy to help little ones with maths. You have spaceship style scales, with an astronaut within, this will move side to side until each plate has the even amount on, then it will sit straight, which is cute and helpful. These scales don’t feel flimsy, they seem to work well, you can take the plates off for easy storage. The size of this is roughly 18cm tall, 34cm wide and 10cm deep.

You have numbers 1-10, these each weigh different amounts, equalling to a matching amount of astronauts, you have 20 of those altogether. You can put a few numbers on a plate a time and you can add the equal amount of astronauts to the other side and it will always add up correctly, that’s good as it can help the little count and recognise numbers.

You also have 30 cards, each of these cards have additions on one side, the other sides are split into 3 sets. You have 10 cards that show numbers 1-10, again to help them recognise numbers, you have 10 cards with astronauts on, in amounts of 1-10 and the last set of 10 cards, show the astronaut amounts, next to the number figure it equals to.

I do think this is a fab little learning game, I would recommend it. Fun and educational at the same time. Slightly more than I expected in price that’s all.

    Fun and educational

I expected something of worse quality, but the truth is that it’s great. This is a wonderful, well-made toy with great educational value.
Each number carries its weight so that by putting the same number of astronauts on the scale it balances perfectly.
It has a lot of possibilities. I use it with both the 3-year-old and the 6-year-old and the two are delighted.

    A fantastic fun educational toy

Quality is OK, sturdy, but not expensive.

Easy for kids to use, numbers weigh what they represent and the bigger numbers have a weight ball inside.

Dinosaurs are very cute, quite small

Scales top(?) literally pop on and off for easy storage. Scales work as they should.

Brought to encourage my 5yo sons maths, the cards are quite handy and have a picture side as well.

Dinosaurs are quite solid, enough kids can play with them

Keeps them amused and encourages them to do some maths alone, whether or not they know it since they just want to balance the scales

The idea of this is to put the little animals on one scale and the correct number on the other to balance them. The dinosaurs are not the most accurate but they are adequate. Our granddaughter loves to see what is new on her toy shelf when she visits and picked this up straight away. She is quite good at numbers but this does give a visual and numeric activity, similar to the puppy one she has where you sort the puppies into pens dependent on colour. We had fun doing this, she loves toys that are educational and got the idea straight away. Lots of other things to do as well, we put the numbers in order, colour recognition and talked about scales and balance which is hard to explain without props. Great little toy.

This is a really fun game which also counteracts as a mathematical educational toy too! Basically you get a pair of scales along with a bunch of dinosaur figures. Each figure is perfectly weighted so that if you place one on the number one with counter balance, two the number two etc. allows for simple mathematical solving and also in a way reading at the same time. Allows to bring a little bit of fun to home learning! Would have been even better during lockdown. Arrived well packaged.

At the time of writing this review, the price for this balance game is 16.99.

In the box, you will the balance itself, weighted number blocks and spaceman blocks. There is also a set of cards instructions on how the game can be played. I think it is a great idea to let the kids see and feel the difference between the number of spaceman and how it affects the total weight. My son had a lot of funs playing the game set.

I was shocked at the negative reviews, as my 5 year old absolutely loved this, and it exceeded my expectations.
We were expecting the dinosaur set, but actually I think we got a better one with the space theme!
The scales work great, and all the items and numbers really do weigh up exceptionally well.
This is perfect for learning about adding and subtracting numbers, so I think it’s better suited for young school children (reception, yr1 yr2)
Yes it’s a bit rattly as scales generally are, (unless they’re digital)
The figures are detailed, the colours are bright, we had great fun playing with this, and then he played with it on his own for over an hour.
Yes the English is a bit dodgy (Intellicent?)
But maths is a universal language, and needs no translating.
The cards included were also a good challenge!

    I definitely would recommend.

Great for school learning at home.

Well this is fun! This is a plastic set of scales helping to teach your child balancing skills. It comes complete with a set of plastic numbers (1 to 10) and they are evenly balanced,so if you were to use for example, a plastic five & three on one side, and then a plastic eight on the other, they would strike perfect equilibrium.
The scales have a dinosaur theme so in addition to plastic numbers you get a bag of 20 mini dinosaurs. Each one is perfectly weighted so again, put the big plastic “10” on one side and you will need exactly 10 mini dinosaurs to strike the perfect balance. Continuing the dinosaur theme, there is a pivoting plastic dinosaur in a plastic dome on the front. In addition to all this, you get a set of cards with maths questions and puzzles on (Well I say puzzles, they are very simple mathematical sums)
I do like this and I think it has a lot of appeal to inquisitive little minds. The only thing that stops it getting the full five stars is that the main set of scales itself feels a little “plasticky” and consequently a little flimsy. However if looked after I think there could be hours of educational entertainment here.

    Oh what fun!

Somehow I was sent an astronaut version, not a dinosaur? See video. The build quality is ok but did find with my 3 year old that the scales moved around alot with her adding and removing weight causing things to fall off etc. So a gentle hand is required. The concept is great however, and she enjoyed matching the number of space men to the number on the opposite side. You can then progress to mixing numbers and space men on one side etc.. it comes with double-sided cards with different levels of problem solving on.
I’d say all in all a good teaching aid that makes maths & counting more fun. Ok value at the current price of 16.99.

If made of more durable material it would be a top learning tool for math. Still a great tool just not substantial for lots of use with this material.

3 yo toddler was very impressed to learn mathematics with the dinosaurs. There are several options on the market, but the one with dinosaurs is a winner. Good quality and great price too

I bought this to help teach inequalities to my soon to be 3rd grade nephew. This scale has different levels of engagement. The tutor says it helped my nephew better understand equal and nonequal amounts, as well as the meaning of number equations and finding the unknown. Great fun!

This was bought as a shared gift for two of my grandchildren. I was skeptical, but it was on the list I was given. Both kids, ages 6 and 4, love this. It’s very simple but quite engaging. If you have kids in your life who like a bit of learning while they play, you should consider this.

The number weights can be slightly off if you use more than 2 at a time, but otherwise this thing is pretty awesome! My 2 year old has had no issues with trying to eat the spacemen, and is obsessed with putting them in a row to count them. Not sure if it was just a quality control issue or if they forgot to update their listing, but we actually got 20 spacemen in our set. We also figured out that frosting cups fit perfectly on each side of the scale perfectly, and can be used to store all of the small pieces with the scale platforms fitting as lids. This absolutely exceeded my expectations. We put all of the cards away to use once he’s a little bigger, but the scale has withstood our 2 year old tossing it around so far.

I purchased this set to use in my Kindergarten classroom and it is an awesome set! However, I discovered that I had two number 3’s and no number 8. After contacting the company they sent me a new and different set!! They have excellent customer service!! This is a great set that allows for number and addition practice. It also helps the students be able to visualize the balanceing of equayions!! Now that I have two I will be able to use them in a center!!

My students love this work. The weighted numbers are a great way to demonstrate quantity. I wish it came with additional spaceman counters; some of mine ” disappeared “.

My kids love it, especially my 3 year old boy! It’ll definitely be fun teaching him math with it! As a warning, the astronauts do fit in babies’ mouths. Of course, that’s the risk with most manipulatives. Otherwise, very fun, though my kids have knocked the scales off a few times. Would be nicer if they didn’t come off so easily.
