The Thames is a large capacity newspaper holder in black with a brass “Newspaper” plaque on the front. With no lock, items are simple to retrieve and this could also be used for large letters, magazines and small parcels.
The Thames is a top opening box and is manufactured in galvanised steel with a powder paint coating.
Weather resistant and the post slot size is 275 x 150mm.

Just decide on your “Unique 4 digit code”
- Please write your name and address as the owner of the box in black marker.
- Using permanent marker again write your four digit security code.
- Apply this to the front of the internal shelf where it can be easily visible.
The sticker can then be used as proof of delivery for many companies that would either write down the four digit code or (if they have the facility) a digital image been taken of it. You do not need to attach the sticker if for piece of mind you still prefer to sign for these.

Small to medium parcels with a maximum dimension of 360 x 210 x 100mm is what the Parcel Box is designed for, with the lid opening just enough to let you put a parcel inside.
Close the lid and you will hear the parcel drop down inside the box. Safely stored until the owner unlocks it.
The parcel box will hold multiple letters, newspapers and parcels.
Easy to instal
The Parcel Box should only be fitted to a brick, stone or solid wall using the plate and fixing kit supplied. Walls that are not made of brick may require use of alternative/additional fixing and we suggest that you contact a tradesman that is qualified to help you with this.
Once you are happy that the Parcel Box is safe and secure, close and lock the door.
Don’t worry if you have vertifical railings, we have a solution for that too!

Sturdy and well made
Sturdy and looks smart. Fixings included but no installation instructions. Holes for fixing quite difficult to access with an ordinary screwdriver.
Although it says 'quality cylinder lock with 2 keys' there are no lock and/or keys supplied
The box is smart looking and has a nice finish. The on-line description says ‘quality cylinder lock with 2 keys’ but there are no lock and/or keys, so this must be an error. Nevertheless we’ll keep it, as it’ll be fine for newspapers.

Good quality product, maybe the metal could be is a bit thicker, it comes with screws and spacers to fix to a flat wall. But please get rid of the newspapers sign, better if it said mail box no one gets new papers delivered these days, do they? But good box for the price

Well made and looks good
This is an excellent product – sturdy and good looking. We use it on the ground for delivery of newspapers and parcels.
Think it will last many years and we are very pleased with it.
We didn’t like the “newspapers” sign on the front so we took it off (v easy – unscrews) and replaced with an inexpensive one of our own. It was a little challenging to install the box – no instructions and very hard to get a screwdriver inside the box to do up the screws! We also weren’t sure where the rubber stoppers were supposed to go (in/outside) but figured it out (outside) when the lid wouldn’t open without scraping on the wall!
Very good value for money but some simple instructions would have been very helpful. Looks really smart now and our post won’t have dog bites in anymore!!
Perfec
This newspaper box is just what I needed. It looks good; the lid has a soft close action so I don’t get woken up too early. Highly recommended. Apart from my morning newspaper it is also useful for the postman and Amazon deliveries.
Very good quality
Second thames I have bought. Left the first at last property. I will make sure i wax this one to prevent rust. Looks very smart. Big capacity and postie can pop small parcels in. Keeps things dry. Good fitted lid. This does everything with no faffing about with keys to retrieve things.
This is just what I needed – I leave it at the top of the garden on the floor and it takes all the junk mail and small packages. Excellent.

Box wird als Briekasten u. fr Zeitungen genutzt, gute Verarbeitung, bis jetzt vllig dicht, Abstanshalter zur Wandbefestigung sind gro genug damit der Deckel ganz geffnet werden kann.

Great just what we wanted . The quality is very good and sturdy.
Good but needs a catch.
Needs a catch or magnet closure. Top can blow open allowing rain in. Though watertight when closed. Still a good buy.
Easy to fix to a batten on the wall; I only used the top two screws as that seemed to work well enough. The lid has remained shut in the high winds of late and the rain is kept out. I will polish with car wax as I feel that will prolong its appearance.
Useful, sturdy and weatherproof
Well finished, weatherproof and sturdy, it does the job well.
Also proving useful as a receiver of packages too large for the letterbox. It is not lockable, nor does it need to be.

Hatte immer rger mit den Werbesendungen/Werbezeitschriften und grsseren Briefsendungen. Der normale Briefkasten war oft so vollgestopft, das es eine Tortour war, die Sendungen zu entnehmen. Ich hab jetzt unterhalb des Briefkastens diese Stahl-Zeitungsbox angebracht und…. endlich Ruhe. Super und immer wieder, htte mir auch frher einfallen knnen.

The finish of this metal box is good. There is no spring to keep the lid closed because it is so well fitting that it remains closed even in the strong winter gales (we have had quite a few). In spite of its exposed position on a tree well away from the house, the paper remains dry and insect free.
It is easy to fit with coachbolts or screws and I am pleased with its smart appearance of black against the gloss red backing board to which it is attached.
I buy a lot of things online and get deliveries several times a week. Rather than having someone knock on the door every day, I have put this box up outside over my bins, right next to our door, a sign on the door saying to leave the deliveries in this box and put on my delivery address “BLACK PARCEL BOX” as my first address line and my house number/name as the 2nd. It has worked brilliantly! Sometimes we still get a knock on the door, but most of the time they just leave the delivery in the box! As it doesn’t have a lock on it, I would say only do this if you are in a safe area where you don’t have to worry about people stealing your deliveries. If you have something expensive coming, or too large for the box I don’t use this box, but it’s great for smaller parcels.

Post box
This is the second one of these boxes I’ve had. The first one lasted for 12 years but was looking “tatty” and was beginning to rust at the bottom. The finish on this box is better than the old one, but it was more difficult to fit because of the design of the lid. Having got in on the wall as per instructions the lid would not open fully! The mountings needed extra packing and new holes had to be drilled lower down the back to allow the lid to open fully. Only then would the box take bulky newspapers and small parcels.

just what we need
excellent for purpose. came the next day! however fixings are not thought out, if screwed to wall, lid wont open.
Ok, not a cheap item so somewhat disappointed that there were no screws or wallplugs supplied, just the mailbox in a cardboard box. Due to the lift up lid design, this mailbox cannot be screwed directly to a wall and needs battens to hold it away from the wall (or whatever you fasten it to) otherwise the lid won’t open. In addition, the top mounting holes foul the lid so it only opens to about a 45 degree angle. This may be a design ‘feature’ to guarantee that the lid falls shut but it makes the opening too shallow to easily retrieve mail/newspapers etc. I addressed the problem by making new holes lower down and placing grommets in the original holes. Nice item but let down in small details and the fact that no fittings, which would cost a matter of pence, have been included. UPDATE: Been fitted now for just over a week. Electro-brassed plate proclaiming “Newspapers” is now rusting badly enough to have left rusty streaks down the outside of the mailbox. Must be really cheap plating. Very poor. Expected a couple of years use before it got rusty, not 8 days!
perfect for what I need
it’s a post box that is big enough to fit most of the parcels delivered to my house. It’s not heavy duty, but is fine for what I need.
