My Tiller broke while using it so I bought this as a replacement, far better than the old one, more power and extra blades, broke up the soil much easier than the old one which saved a lot of time as well

Used to rotivate and then re level my garden. Worked well, but make sure the grass is cut low before starting

Last time I hired one of these it was about 20 years ago and it cost 25 for a day, so I really wasn’t expecting very much from something that was the equivalent of less than about 4 days’ hire allowing for inflation. My good lady wife decided to buy one anyway and I must confess I was pleasantly surprised.

It coped quite well with the first patch of garden that I threw at it – an area that was full of roots and buried brambles. It takes a bit of time to use – you basically have to hold in one position for about 10 seconds and then move forward a foot or so and do the next but it’s way quicker than doing it by hand and it produces a nice even crumbed soil ready for raking, levelling and planting, even when the ground as in this case hasn’t been properly dug over in years.

The one main criticism that I would level at it and the reason why I haven’t given it 5 stars is the fact, as highlighted by least one other review I saw, that the blades are not sharp enough to cut through the weeds so its 10 minutes of milling followed by 10 minutes on your hands and knees untangling the weeds and roots from around the blades. I’m tempted to take the blades off and sharpen them.

It is fitted with a cable strain tidy but quite what its use is I have no idea. It’s far too large to hold the cable when it’s plugged in so it simply falls out whenever you move the rotavator and too small to hold the cable when its coiled up.

The other observation I would make is that the assembly instructions are truly awful. If you are the sort of person who relies on instructions to put things together, get someone with a degree of technical expertise to help! It’s actually very easy to put together and it took me no more than 10 minutes, but I would suggest that if you try to follow the instructions you’ll be there all day. If they had provided no instructions, ease of assembly would have been scored at 5!

Easy to assemble and a great bit of kit for the price.

Pleased with purchase used for first time today. Easy to use and assemble. Pensioner now and easier than digging.

The tiller was delivered early and was easily assembled in a matter of minutes. It looks to be a good solid piece of kit.
Unfortunately the weather has not been conducive to making use of it. Because of a high clay content in my soil it retains water therefore I can only till it as it drys out after a wet period or after a light shower when we have had a dry period.

Easy to use and does as exactly as described. Used on large garden before laying turf.

A longer cable would be beneficial otherwise fairly easy to handle & use once you have the hang of it. Do need some strength to control as you start.
