So far I have no complaints. It’s not hideously noisy, easy to empty. I’ve not cut cards or DVDs just yet but I have no doubt it will do the job perfectly well.

It is a good shredder, I’m not sure if it actually does 12 pages together, and it turns jam up on cards – I have not used CD’s yet because I’m afraid of any damage to me that it might cause.

I’m not sure if the overload light works, because at times it has stopped not when it has jammed and not when the bin is full, and the light is not illuminated. However this may be due to other causes, and I have not actually used it to a capacity where the overload light would illuminated.

It is very messy when emptying the bin and so therefore some sort of catch all underneath the bin would be ideal, unless you have a vacuum cleaner to hand.

It has easily shredded documents bills & other items that I have gathered over the years, and I’ve ended up with two large black bin liners of shredded paper. I’m very impressed, it cuts everything so well and securely, and isn’t all that noisy either.

We had a filing cabinet full of paperwork needing to be shredded. Our old shredder died and found this one.
Reviews were a bit mixed but I suppose some people are just unlucky.
We found it a wonderful piece of equipment. Quiet, fast, took loads of sheets and shreds for ages before needing to cool down.
    Really impressed and would recommend.

I’m not one to write a negative review, but on this occasion it it warranted. The shredder has given up afer around 4 months of light to medium use. It appears that the switch is not connecting as there is a faint sound when you move across but it does not connect. Really disappointing for a product that is not that cheap at 69.99. The helpline is useless, so I’ll probably dump it and buy a Fellowes as the last shredder made by them lasted years.
Looks good, nice & compact but does not stand the test of time!

I liked the neat and tidy look of this shredder, also the ease of use and quiet operation. Easy reversal of the shredder to clear the cutting blades. Would recommend this shredder to any one for domestic use.

It’s true in life that you get what you pay for. We have top notch shredders at work but I didn’t feel I needed something quite as good at home so bought this one. The bin is very flimsy and the shredding part just sits in the top. Is it very very noisy and easily gets clogged when running for a few minutes at a time. Don’t get me wrong, it does the job but I’d be looking at other models for me next purchase.

Have had this shredder for about 4 weeks now and have done a HUGE pile of shredding with it , without any issues at all. It can handle a good amount of paper at a time (it’s rated for 10 sheets but I normally do 5 max). It can also do card as well. Runs for a good amount of time before needing to cool down (obviously the more sheets you try to shred in one go, the quicker it will overheat. So long as you are sensible when using it it’s a great machine. Very happy.

This replaces a 6 sheet shredder of the same brand which broke and was returned after 10 months use.

The product itself is fine. My previous shredder was a pull out bin, and that was a nightmare to empty. This one with the lift off top with a convenient handle is much easier and less frustrating. The operation is easy enough and quieter than I expected. I dropped one star because it requires oiling and this is not as easy as you might imagine. If you over oil which I think I did, shredded paper begins to stick in the mechanism and it’s time consuming to get the bits out. Also, I shredded an Amazon delivery label which was stuck to a plastic delivery bag (hope you know what I mean). Don’t do that!! The shredded plastic wraps itself around the mechanism and again is a mare to remove. Overall though I would recommend the product as my criticisms above were really my own fault and not down to the product itself.

The shredder works exactly as described which is great because I had previously bought a cheaper shredder which could not cope with my shredding needs. This one works great and now i’m all caught up for now.

After returning a previous shredder to Amazon, this was a wary buy – I figured that if I paid a little more and read the reviews well, I might get one that is sturdy and doesn’t jam all the time. Happy to say I’m very pleased with this Bonsaii 10-sheet shredder. I put around 7 to 8 sheets in at a time to keep things manageable, occasionally they’ll be some stray thick cluster of pages go in that makes it shred slower but it always powers through. In the course of shredding 5 years of paperwork, I had one instance where some paper got slightly impacted at one edge of the cutting mechanism and needed a bit of prodding and pulling to get out ( always try and put the paper in centrally to stop that kind of thing, easy to get crazy and bung loads in at all angles). and one time it stopped and needed me to reverse the paper and pull it out- so not bad going at all, I was v pleased with the performance.

As the title say’s. And i say this because 99% of the paper work is shredded to the same size.In a cross shredder i would expect the shredded paper to have roughly 50% of paper to be smaller.
Having said that good luck to anyone that want’s to go through my bin and paste it all back together.
This shredder did overheat while shredding 8 pieces of A4,but that may well have been my fault. It took about 1 hour to cool down, before i could use it again.
The morale of this story is don’t expect too much ,and it will work fine.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersPleased with this shredder, it’s does everything it’s meant to – you feed it paper and out comes small cross-cut shredded paper. Happy days. It chews through 10 sheets with ease and you don’t need to remove staples as it will go through those too. It has plenty of space for the cuttings but isn’t too big that it cant be stored away in a cupboard when not in use. Right, off to find more paper to feed it.

On a scale of 1- 10, I’d give it a 9, it’s quick, efficient, easy to empty, and still going strong!

Been using this shredder for a few months now. It’s a good solid unit that works well with the high security cross-cut method. I haven’t pushed it to its limit in terms of number of sheets, but in all honesty I don’t think any shredder should be pushed to its advertised limit regularly. Doing so is asking for trouble. But if you want a solid shredder which can easily handle a few sheets at a time, then this is i

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersBought this during the Amazon Prime Day sales and grabbed a good bargain (paid 32). Works as expected as long as you don’t load too many sheets at once. It seems to cry out when I load anything more than 5 sheets, so I will not go anywhere near the maximum advertised limit.

The shredder itself is fairly silent (it still makes quite a bit of sound, but I have seen worse) and works as expected. Paper is shredded nicely and the little window on the side of the bin shows you how much of the bin is full, which is very handy.

I use this almost daily and my home is now almost paper free! Would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a paper shredder for light/home use.

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersNoisy, clacketty, ravenous and satisfying to use. I’ve not pushed to try its limits but filled a large bin bag with chomped up paper using it straight from the box. I was aware that it might overheat and was concerned to look after it having read all the reviews, but I’m an ordinary householder with a backlog of bills and papers that I have been loth to put in the ordinary rubbish even with my address blacked out. it’s all gone. I’m very happy.
I was thinking of those guys who were given thirty thousand pounds in cross cut cash who were told that if they could piece it back together they could exchange it for intact notes at a bank. It took them almost a year and they did it but I don’t think anyone is going to do that with my stuff so for that reason also I am very happy. Seems like a reasonable price too. I didn’t want to go overboard but I wanted quality. I think I have done well.

I purchased this shredder for the small office that I work in. It arrived promptly, but I soon started to have problems with it. I contacted the company who supplied it, via email, who tried to resolve my issues over email correspondence. However, this did not correct the problem. I was then offered a new Bonsaii shredder, which arrived, again very promptly. I think it was just bad luck that the first one was broken and I was very pleased that they replaced it without any quibble. The replacement is very efficient and so far so good!

The overload and overheat warning light, ensures you don’t break it.

I liked the capacitiness. It handles 8 sheets at a time includly stapling. It is not quite so noislifold as my previous shredder. The crosscutting is superifold in security to just strplifold cutting. It is convenimold to see cuttings through the front window and know when it is full. Perhaps the plastic container is rather lightly and thin, rather flexibold, considering the the weighting of the cutting mechanisating equipliness. Good valuing for the Priceliness. Overall, though, deep joy.

I have used the Bonsaii shredder to dispose of a couple of box files of documents so far.
One thing I liked about the shredder was being able to lift the actual shredder from the waste box, using the carrying handle. This makes disposal of the shredded paper quite straightforward.

Overall we both like this shredder, it’s easy to use, we like the large container/basket and we also like the window (so you can see how full the basket is). A couple of things we didn’t realise before we bought the shredder and began using it are: firstly, the container/basket feels quite flimsy when the lid isn’t on and it is very flexible. Also, the lid has to be firmly in place before the machine can be used which is fine, but the problem is that the carry handle can’t be fixed so you can’t use the handle to carry or move the shredder to another room because, as soon as you grasp the lid handle the lid comes off. That said, I think we would still have bought this shredder because the bits are nicely small and it takes a lot of sheets in one shred.

Bought in 2018 but only just got round to some serious shredding. I was dreading doing my big pile of paper as previous shredders I owned spent more time in reverse than going forward! A decent shredder that does what it should. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is that it does tend to cut out if you go for a few minutes continuously and wont restart for 30-45 mins. I understand the safety aspect but frustrating

  55. Anonymous says:

Not as quiet to use as the description would have you believe. Simple to use, adequate bin capacity – but as other customers have described, the runtime is quite short so if you have a quite a lot of documents to shred it will take several sessions. Also needs to be lubricated quite often, and small pieces of paper removed from the cutters after every use. The reverse function is useful for this, but you can’t use a forward motion without using another piece of paper which defeats the object of trying to clear the cutters!
Overall, reasonable value for money for the size and functionality of the product for light domestic use.

Heavier duty than most home use shredders. Like all , the paper quantity seems to be based on very thin paper-it spreads 5 sheets of ‘ normal ‘ paper (eg credit card statements) easily but slows on trying to shred more. I shredded continuously for 20 mins doing 2-4 sheets at a time without it overheating. The extra large waste bin is great- it is no wider or deeper , just a bit taller, than usual so doesn’t take up any more floor space.

I have had to buy a few shredders over the years and have to say they don’t seem as robust as they should be however this one does seem very good. Its fairly new to me and I can only come back as the months roll by to say how long it lasted but on first impressions its very good. It appears to get the paper through more cleanly that many other more famous brands. The handle on the top is also a handy feature. Emptying the paper was also much easier and a less messy job that other shredders. Therefore a good buy.

This is a brilliant shredder. It is solidly built and does not jam easily. It can take several pages at a time and run good 4 to 5 minutes. The handle is very useful for emptying the shredder as the top section is the heaviest part of the shredder and something you don’t want to drop. The overheat button is also very useful for keeping an eye on the running temperature. I have been using it to shred lots of old files that I no longer need and I have been powering through them. With my old shredder the experience would have been painfully slow and involved lots of paper jams. Very pleased and would thoroughly recommend. Item also arrived on the next day (I was expecting it a week later).

The shredder has a good capacity; a window so you can see how full the basket is and a large capacity basket so you can shred a lot of paper before you need to empty the basket. I did a massive amount of shredding when it arrived.. I shredded the paper in short burst of 3-4 minutes so it did not overheat and I made sure that I oiled the shredding teeth as the instructions said. I didnt have any oil to hand so I sprayed the teeth with Frylight cooking oil. It did the job perfectly.

This shredder is a gret buy. I recommend it.

Great little shredder. Handles multiple sheets well and cross cuts efficiently. You need to be wary not to over fill the feed, but the machine easily reverses and allows you to remove the blockage safely. You should also be aware to oil the cutting blades regularly to prevent damaging them and you will need to buy the oil separately. Overall a great value and efficient product.

Purchased this shredder to replace our smaller model which was old and constantly jamming. So far it proved to be a great buy, we’ve collected loads of confidential paperwork over the years and this COVID-19 pandemic lockdown has given me the time to disposed of it. I have fed up to 10 sheets of paper in one bundle and it has shredded them all, it has taken card and laminated paper too. When it has jammed it was down to the bin being full and the paper backing up into shredder’s teeth, this was easily rectified by emptying the bin and selecting reverse. It has an auto start/stop feature and overheat protection, I was shredding for 1/2 hour off and on and it only overheated once.

    Hope this helps

I am delighted that I chose and bought this shredder. It does everything I need it to – and it does it efficiently and smoothly. It takes several sheets of A4 at a time and shreds them in seconds. The feature which is commendable is the built in handle on the top of the shredder – it is so easy to use the handle to lift off the shredder from the canister and place the shredder on the ground on its four “feet.” That means emptying the canister is not a complicated “three handed” operation. The canister itself is a good size though the overall dimensions of the unit are not too large for my small study. A good purchase!

The drum is a good size, the cutters work very efficiently and the viewing window allows for a quick check to see if the unit needs emptying. The shredder can handle several sheets at the same time and we’ve not had any issues with overheating, etc. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Golden Review Award: 119 From Our UsersI’ve had a small home shredder for several years, which served me well for shredding envelopes, bank statements and the like, for security reasons, but when I decided that the time had come to destroy 46 years’ worth of diaries, I knew that I needed a bigger one. After some research this one looked about right – not too big and expensive, but not too small for the job. Six large black bin liners of shredded paper later, I can confirm that I chose well. It’s relatively quiet (for a shredder!), easy to use, will take 8 sheets at a time (that’s 8 sheets of 80gsm – but you soon get the hang of how much it will cope with happily). Every now and then, if you’re shredding continuously, it needs to cool down and will tell you so – but that’s true of all shredders: it’s a heat-generating operation. If you’re not shredding continuously as I was, you may never encounter an overheat.

I’m very pleased with it. It doesn’t take up much room in my home office, is inconspicuous, easy to maintain, easy to operate and well made. It also takes a LOT of paper before it needs emptying, but emptying is very simple too – you just use the in-built handle to lift the shredder unit from the base (which is just a 21 litre rectangular waste bin, basically) and empty it into a bin bag. And it’s environmentally friendly too – plain (not glossy) shredded paper can be used for all sorts of things – from composting and animal bedding to craft projects lie paper making and papier-mache. Win-win.

Golden Review Award: 65 From Our UsersI really like the compact size, combined with simplicity and ease of use. I have used other shredders before, but this one was by far the simplest to install and use. The cross cut is small enough to make even the smallest font printing unintelligible. Highly recommended for home small office use.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersWorks well as a home shredder. Does get stuck when you out too much in but easy to clear blockage if that happens.

Golden Review Award: 71 From Our UsersReally very impressed. This is just the right size for our small office – doesn’t need constant emptying yet doesn’t take up too much valuable space. Works fast and efficiently to deal with our needs. Time will tell how sturdy it is.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI really like this it’s light, but firm and sturdy(!). Very low noise shredding. Shreds credit cards easily. So much better than what I thought was my pretty good previous shredder. Can’t believe how much I like this! And check me out, this is nearly three years I’ve been using it. The only tip is to properly clean it out everytime you empty it (I use a bin liner).

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersI am very pleased with this shredder although it does struggle if you try to shred too many sheets, I find that it copes quite well with six sheets at a time, I am in the process of getting rid of old business accounts and this machine is doing an excellent job. I definitely recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersThis was a great value shredder, which could be used on the table top, or on the floor. It easily takes 10 sheets, but works better with 6 to 8, and uses a cross cut technique. Great for any personal or confidential documents.

Golden Review Award: 55 From Our UsersThis shredder is worth every penny! I have purchased several shredders over recent months/years and they have been both noisy and unreliable. I work from home, so this is used for both work and personal shredding. Took this out of the box and immediately felt like a quality, sturdy shredder… but even better, when plugged in and trialed with my paper mountain… it was so quiet! Quietest shredder I have ever owned and cuts into the tiniest pieces… perfect for the security conscious! Highly recommend this shredder and would not hesitate to buy another, but, sincerely hope I won’t have to. Great seller and super fast service.. thank you!!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersWhat denotes 10 pages? Definitely not A4 80GSM which is pretty box standard. One major issue is that the unit struggles with more than 6 sheets at a time and will soon stop and complain of motor getting too hot.
I’ve had a major clear out of many years worth of documentation. In fact 4 sacks of old stuff.
It has done the task, but tends to need time to cool down. Occasionally switching to reverse to aid clearing the cutters. It’s a bit noisy, but none moreso than other low priced units.
Value for money is good, but not excellent.
Ease of use is a three position switch, a slot to feed paper and a bin in in which the shredder sits. A window aids seeing the rising cut paper. I tend to compact by hand and continue, rather than emptying as the paper fills the bin.
I’m pleased but not impressed, having said that it is more capable than my previous cheap Tesco one that struggled with thicker single sheets. This will tolerate thin card.
In conclusion treat 10 sheets as an absolute, 3 – 5 being reasonable, occasionally reverse and put a couple of single sheets through to remove any bits stuck on the cutter.

Would I buy again? Difficult question, as the price was OK, and it has done a lot of work in the few days I’ve owned it.
