Had it for about a year. Use it a lot. Not one single time has the hose retracted all the way in first time. Once you get to the last 5′ or so it takes FOREVER pulling the hose out and letting it inch back in to get it to retract all the way. I regret buying it.

It looks nice and keeps the hose out of the floor. It retracts the hose as it should.

This is a great addition to my garage! I have had for several months now and it works great!

Upgraded from an older 25′ reel to this , hose stays flexible at any temperature, easy install , the retraction can be a bit harsh but is easily controllable. Overall great product!

Been dreaming on not tripping over my air hose for years. Get more use out of your air tools by making it easy to access. Hope it lasts for years.

I had read some of the reviews where buyers had suggested that the hose can become tangled while being retracted but I still went ahead with the purchase, as it is my belief that some issues are created through misuse. However, in practice I have found that great care needs to be taken when retracting the hose as there is no guide within the mechanism to prevent the hose piling up at one end thus jamming the hose against the casing. This reel was more expensive by far than the retractable garden hose, made by a well known company, that I recently bought. This reel has a guide mechanism which slides from side to side while the hose is being retracted to ensure that the hose is evenly distributed along the drum. Why couldn’t the manufacturer of the Goodyear hose do something similar??

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs installed I have a shutoff and gauge in front of the reel. When shut off, but still pressurized it does not leak down. It is used randomly and seems to function the way it should. I am happy with my purchase.

Yes, it’s more expensive than harbor freight, but this one is total quality. Very well built. I installed this in my motorhome. The 50′ hose reaches all my wheels.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis hose reel is great. I read a few reviews that weren’t fond of it but I completely disagree. It’s well built, quite, doesn’t leak and was easy to install.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis was just what I wanted and has been working great for the first two months. Hose seems soft but durable, is not stiff in cold weather in unheated garage. It would have been nice to have longer inlet but I purchased an extension.

Very easy to install, find a stud, sink 1 lag Bolt, tighten it up and leave 1/8″ Mark the other hole, sink it, mount on the wall tighten up with an open-end wrench. Very good produc

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersWow-the hose on the reel lays flat on the ground. It is supple and high quality. I love the 65 foot length of this reel too. When you go to mount this on the wall you will need some 2″ or 2 1/2″ lag bolts with washers. I used 5/16″ diameter. You can put three bolts into the one vertical stud and it will hold nicely. Note that you will want to remove 2 set screws from the unit to get the bracket off before mounting. This was the trickiest part of the process since there were no instructions. In the first photo you will see the two holes near the top and the bottom on the side casing. Remove those and then pull the plastic plugs out. Install the bracket to the wall and then remount the unit onto the bracket by putting the plugs back in. Replace screws.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAfter looking at several of these, I chose this one for two main reasons:

    1) 15 feet longer than most (65 feet vs. 50 feet)

    2) the mounting arm swivels nearly 90 degrees side to side – providing the mounting options I needed.

I installed it onto my residential garage horizontal wooden beam support. The mounting bracket on the reel has three holes in it. I wanted to use all three (because I “over do” everything), but I couldn’t easily get a wrench onto the center hole bolt while I was holding the reel up, so I just used the two non-center bolt holes. The two bolts are plenty strong, but I mention this just as an FYI for anyone who wants to do all three. If someone was helping me, I am sure I could have used all three holes. But it was too difficult for me to hold the unit up and bolt in the center hole. If Goodyear is reading this – if you made the swiveling mounting bracket fasteners into the plastic reel housing removable and replaceable, I could have removed the bracket from the plastic reel housing, installed the bracket to my garage’s horizontal wooden beam, then reattached the bracket to the plastic reel housing as a simple one person job. But I would definitely buy this again.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGreat product. Keep in mind installers, the bracket does come off to help with install if you want. Remove the star bit screws that hold the plastic pins in the bracket hinge and remove the pins. You will see what I’m talking about when you try to install.

his air hose is great pulls out easily and retracts, my old air hose was a bumbling mess to use almost impossible to roll up…my only complaint is it won’t turn a full 180 degrees I am going to make a 3/4 inch spacer so it will turn a full 180
