Great cheap soldering iron kit. It has all the bits you’ll need to get going. Everything is packed away in a nice compact case.
Really happy with it. You really can’t go wrong with this one!

I used this one over 2 weeks and it seems great quality compared to price . It helped me alot in fixing many things including kids toys . Quickly gets hot and easy to use with nice kit and holder , just read instructions before you start to maintain it and live longer as you need to clean quiet often using the wet sponge and use the metal cable carefuly for desoldering . At the end its great value for money and will save u alot of time and many if you have many toys or electronics to fix at home .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhat you get in this kit for the money is amazing I wasn’t expecting a lot when it came to be honest thought there was going to be a catch somewhere as seemed a little to good to be true. On opening it I was happily surprised with the purchase. And on use everything worked perfectly and has been used at least 5 times so far with out a failure.

On the high setting the handle got warmer than I would have liked, when you can smell meat cooking, just move your fingers back an inch, that alleviates the problem. I chose this size due to my age, shorter, not so much hand shaking and easier to use.

Nice little carrying back which contains every thing you need for portable use, the only downside is the wire stripper, not overly impressed, but still great value you for money, so long as it lasts. Far to often we are asked to review items, only to find 4 months down the road it ends up being bicycled

For electronics, the Iron is the perfect, length, wattage and with the extra variable tips should tackle most jobs

Better with a Chisel Tip fitted they are quite reasonable ,7 or 10 or so for a pack . Lifespan may not that great typically tbh. But quite hard to return & struggle with the more cumbersome wired type. These work better with a Chisel Tip fitted. High powered so I advise keeping tempy low use infrequently

4.0 out of 5 stars These work better with a Chisel Tip fitted. High powered so I advise keeping tempy low.

I ordered this to do some simple occasional soldering, and it seems to fulfill this purpose. It is light and feels cheap. The holder seems a bit flimsy, and the iron tip sits too close to the table when in the holder. Apart from this, it heats up fast, and it is easy to use. It is handy to have several tips so I can change them depending on the job, and the desoldering pump works fine. It is worth the money, and I wasn’t expecting a top of the range soldering kit for what I paid, but four stars and not 5 is because the holder could have been designed better.

I got this to fix my PS4 after I managed to blow it up, probably by being too good at games. Unfortunately, I’m totally cack handed, and can’t seem to coordinate the iron with the… roll of metal stuff. This resulted in a small fire, and significant soft tissue damage. Not the Tabiger 60w soldering iron’s fault, of course. My mother’s fault for never teaching me how to solder, like a man.

Soldering is one of those things that you need to develop skills in if you want to do a job properly. My soldering is not the best and in the end my fix did not work. I can’t really blame this tool however. It did what I required of it. Perhaps my lack of skill was to blame. I just didn’t have the patience or practice to get it right.

Needed to undertake a small soldering task connected to my golf trolley electrics. Not used one before but this came with all I needed and instructions that are reasonably easy to follow. The job was successful which probably saved me more than the cost of this set to get the trolley mended elsewhere.

This is the first soldering kit I’ve owned/used and I was really impressed.

It was easy to use which was great for a novice/beginner like me. The product heats up relatively quickly and I found it easy to control the iron and temperature. I managed to solder a battery onto my fit bit with ease.

It comes with various accessories such as a desoldering pump, tweezers, lead, wire stripper cutter a stand with a sponge so you can pretty much use it out of the box.

The build quality is fantastic feeling like a sturdy well made product. It’s great value for money and I would highly recommend it.

Hope you found my review useful.

Not the best soldering iron in the world but it definitely does the job and for the price it is I have no complaints.

It gets quite hot and a few of the accessories like the stand are completely useless, but if you’re looking for a cheap way to stick wires together This is your best bet above electrical tape. Just be careful about putting it down and when turning it off.

  29. Hannah says:

     United Kingdom

Comprehensive Soldering kit for a fair price. You get a selection of tips and a temperature control. The holder is a little small and only just avoids the tip touching the surface. The zip bag is not a practical way of storing your items unless you want to reassemble the kit every time you use it. I put mine in a small box – no problem. Does everything you want from a basic soldering kit.

  30. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

If you’re considering this purchase, you’ll probably want to think about your expected usage and precisely what you want from the product given the price. Think about the fact you’re getting the soldering iron itself along with a bunch of other stuff, contained in a case/pouch for what is essentially very little money.

Let me put it to you in plain, clear terms. This set is extremely cheap and it shows. All items included here are cheaply made with cheap materials (the tweezers are probably the highlight of the set!) – the items are generally lightweight and feel cheap (which is fine, as long as you make your purchase with that knowledge in mind). This tool should not be expected to stand up to extended use and/or abuse (compared with, say, my Weller soldering gun, which I’ve had for around 35 years and is still going strong).

With the above said, the thing works! The soldering iron gets hot and melts solder. The stand holds the iron off the bench. The solder sucker functions adequately. The solder is solder and the tweezers I really liked (for some reason, lol).

So, if you need a soldering iron for occasional/light use, this may well fit the bill. If you’re looking for something that you can use daily as a ‘workhorse’ tool, then you need to consider alternatives that are more suited to that kind of use (and know that they will come with a price tag to match).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOk, so this soldering iron is not aimed at the professional and would probably stop working after more than a few hours work a day, but it does the job for the occasional soldering task. Problem is the supplied solder. It is unmitigated rubbish. I haven’t done any soldering for probably 20 years (when I used to use it in a professional capacity) – came back to it to do some audio electronic repairs. Thought all my skills had evaporated! Solder wouldn’t melt. Then it would. Then it wouldn’t. Gummed up the tips. I think the clue was the lead free moniker. I vaguely remember when this stuff was introduced into industry in the 90’s. Caused all sorts of problems.
Anyway, long story short – bought some “OBVIS Solder Wire Tin Lead Rosin Core”. Worked like a dream.
If you’re a beginner, chuck the grotty lead free supplied solder away and get some proper stuff. It’ll make your life a lot easier.
Just don’t eat it. Its got lead in it.

This is a great kit, and the soldering iron is just the right size for the fiddly soldering in jewellery making. It doesn’t always stay on the rest, and sometimes takes a bit of readjusting to make it stay put, but otherwise this is a great kit. Not to bothered about the accessories they are not very good quality. The heat cantrol know is tiny and fiddly and could be knocked easily during use leaving the iron hotter or colder than wanted.
Having said that the heat control seems to work quite well and the iron keeps a stable temperature. One of my biggest hates with soldering irons is s stupid short cable or one that is so still the iron moves when you put it down. Not on this one the cable length and quality are pretty good and a nice feature is an inline on off switch in the cable.
Suit a begineer or DIY use, soldering is easy and leaves a nice job, set your temperature so the solder flows but not to hot thst you burn the flux away leaving black residue, then put a blob of hot melt glue on the temp setting.
    Borst says. Nice job.

Bought for my son and he is happy with it. You may need to consider getting an extractor fan and a mat if you haven’t already got those. My son said the fumes were quite strong emitting from the solder when he was using it so we had to get a fan. We also ended up getting ‘helping hands’ too… So I ended up buying lots of other bits after this to use it properly.

During lockdown I’ve been looking for hobbies to keep me occupied. As a kid I used to tinker with electronics and repairing things. so I thought id get back into that. I bought a cheapo 15 solder iron just to learn how to solder again and to be honest I wish id bought this first. nice and easy to use with temp control makes soldering a dream. one school boy error I made, I didn’t realise the small yellow carboard looking thing was a magic sponge you need to wet so you can clean the tip while soldering (its been over 20 years since I last soldered don’t judge me) 🙂

    pros
    good price
some accessories which are very useful
    temp control.
    good for small solder jobs

    cons
the tips aren’t super, if you don’t take care of them they wont last long.
probably wouldn’t be great for serious projects like console repairs where you would want a solder station.

I like several features of this soldering iron kit. Firstly, it is nice to have an on/off switch in the wire, rather than having to unplug it. The case contains the elements neatly, and it is nice to have a selection of soldering heads. I have not yet experimented much with the temperature adjustment, but it seems to make a difference. The unit is nice and light to hold, which helps with control. The stand is a bit wobbly and unstable-I worry it might tip over, and once assembled it does not go back in the case, of course, so it has to be stored separately. I might screw it to a block of wood for stability. A nice bit of kit overall. I will be interested to see if it is resilient enough for prolonged use, as I make stained glass, and so more demand is made of the unit than if it were just for a light bit of electronic circuitry. However, that will be my fault for not choosing a more heavy duty mode: for most people this should be a good choice!

I needed to do some basic soldering on a PS4 controller. I have not done soldering in about 22 years, so I just needed something basic. This is that. Overall its good for the price, however the fixture in the case to keep all the items secure are a bit weak / low quality – I cannot see it lasting very long. So one star knocked off. Overall, a cheap fair product for beginners.

Nice item. Comes neatly packed in carrying case. Very quick to get to temperature. Only used a couple of times but can’t believe how easy it was to use and quickly solder the components I was working on. Should have thrown my old soldering iron out years ago instead of struggling on with it. One of the very thin tips it came with was particularly good at soldering on to minute arrears of a circuit board.

I haven’t used this yet. I am an absolute beginner. I bought this to solder some small through hole components onto a pcb, and my large iron would have destroyed it. First impressions were that the iron itself was a little cheap and fragile, but there was everything you’d need in the kit, so good for a hobbyist, there’s also some good tips for soldering if you’ve never done it before.
When I used it, I was really impressed! the heat control is pretty accurate, and the tips are easy to change. I used it on my fiddly little job, then put the large tip on and whacked the heat up, and soldered directly onto some steel plate.
Overall, a very usable soldering iron, with useful items in the kit. Not as solid as a weller, but at this price, perfect for a hobbyist and occasional user.

As someone who grew up in a time when things used to come with instructions, I really appreciated the instructions included. They’re actually useful and tell you about what you have.

The kit included is excellent. Has everything needed to get started.

Although I can’t comment how accurate the temperature control is, it’s nice to have. The iron heated quickly and I was able to melt the included 0.8mm solder very quickly. The stand is excellent and the on/off switch on the iron lead is a fantastic addition for me.

Overall, this is an excellent product. Amazing value for money.

I desperately needed a solder iron to replace a component. The iron heats up very quickly! I like that there are multiple tips that can be changed. I disliked the stand as it needed tightening with a wrench in order to use. It does have a nice carry case. Fast delivery and would recommend this iron for beginners If it wasn’t for the stand, being so fidderly I would have given 5 stars.

Bought this as a replacement for a super cheap one I bought I while ago, I have started doing some more detailed soldering work with PCB’s etc. I needed something that actually heated the tip of the soldering iron.

Was considering buying a soldering station, but thought I’d give this ago because it’s so cheap, maybe as well give it a try.

I am extremely happy with this soldering iron! It heats up quickly, i have it set to 350 C (not measured the temp myself) using the dial. It works brilliantly, melts the solder quickly and consistently.

Such a good price for a tool that does exactly what it should!

I’m a total novice at soldering. This is the first one I’ve ever used in fact, and I wanted it initially to solder a new battery holder into an ancient calculator. I surprised myself. It was pretty easy and worked first time. I didn’t even get huge blobs of solder everywhere like I expected. So I’d rate this as good for beginners.

Sure, assembling the various bits and pieces in this outfit is a bit fiddly (the iron stand for instance) but it shouldn’t cause you any real issues. Getting everything tucked away in the zip case might be the hardest part, especially since you have to take two tiny bolts off the stand each time. Maybe leave that set up somewhere.

When the iron is in the stand, the hot pointy end is only an inch off the table, and sticks out of the ‘protective’ coil a long way. This part could be better designed. I didn’t find that the handle got hot — maybe I didn’t use it for long enough.

The supplied solder has a flux core so you may not need to buy any flux, the only thing not included. I haven’t tried the desolder pump. The power switch in the cable is handy but you should probably switch off at the socket to be certain.

I can see you might want something more robust if you were soldering all the time but this is perfect for the very occasional solderer, like me.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOver the years I’ve had a couple of cheap irons mainly just for tinning wires and the odd repair. They were never very satisfactory though and likely I wasn’t using them correctly maybe they were meant for fine circuitry work or whatever. Having loaned my last one out and never really wanting it back I found I needed another recently fortunately I came across this kit.

The main thing I found is the speed and power of the heat it generates. I’m no expert with electronics and others will know what I mean and no doubt communicate it much better. Basically I found this iron easy to solder with and it made the simple repairs I wanted to effect much less traumatic to me and anyone nearby.

Other things. The on/off switch in the lead is great – simple I know but I found very useful. I’m not sure I need some of the extras but the zip case is handy and perhaps I’ll use the tips etc. in due course. The solder supplied is lead-free – lead solder is best avoided if you don’t have an extractor system. The kit stand is flimsy so I knocked up a more sturdy one from some bits of angle metal I had in the garage. I watched a couple of youtube videos for hints and, using this iron, I’m much happier with my work.

If you’re going to do a lot of soldering, then you’ll need to buy these replacements in the pictures.
Each tip lasted about 3 hours in total so hopefully the replacements are stronger.
Everything that comes with the kit is good though so on a professional level, I like this better than my marlins solder station. The power off switch is great too so you don’t have to keep unplugging it.
If it broke, I’d buy it again.

If, like me, you want to tinker with home elctronic projects, this seems like a good way to get you going. I already know how to solder, just haven’t done any for a long time. Not sure that a complete novice should launch into this without some tuition or lots of practice, before getting into anything valuable. But I’m going to upgrade my electric guitar with new pickups and this kit will allow me to do that with ease.

Everything you need for basic soldering. I’m terrible with an iron and still managed to do some nice clean repairs on circuit boards and some 3.5mm jacks. The whole kit facilitates trial and error since you can effectively desolder and clean the connections and try again. Storage pouch was a nice bonus too since it’s much easier to keep clean and store with my other tools, aswell as travel with if need be.
I don’t know how much use it is to professional electricians but for general DIY fixes and practice it’s provided excellent value so far.

Golden Review Award: 62 From Our UsersVery nice pack with everything you need to do some soldering. I purchased this to replace an iron I have had for 20 years and for the price this is a great deal. My drop of one star is for the soldering iron. I wasn’t expecting fantastic quality for price, and the supplied iron does it’s job with the variable temerature a nice touch. The issue is that the handle gets quite hot after only a short while, and on the lowest setting. I would actually have concerns that it would melt if left on for a long period of time.

If you are after an iron to do occasional soldering, then this is a bargain and contains everything you could need. Most of the time I am only fixing a broken connection or doing something simple so this will easily continue to do this job. If I do ever need to build a circuit board, then I will likely need to purchase a more robust iron.

Golden Review Award: 90 From Our UsersI watch a lot of big Clive YouTube videos and always wanted to try soldering for myself so thought I’d buy a cheap beginners soldering iron. I came across this one and wasn’t disappointed. It is nice to work with, has good temperature control, and has everything you need to get started. Solder wire and wick, a solder pump, tweezers and off course an iron stand and a carry case. There is also a selection of tips for the iron. The stand comes apart to store in the case. Even the flex on the iron is soft so it doesn’t hinder control of the iron. Great item for beginners for sure.

    Great for beginners
