Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis marvellous little device is rare in electrickery – in that it does exactly as it promises! You open the box …. plug it in …… put in a DVD (and 2 little batteries into the remote) ….. switch on ….. and BINGO! Great little (laptop-size) screen …… crisp, crystal-clear picture …… great sound!
And all for a staggeringly low price!
EVERYONE should have one of these …… whether they think they need it, or not! (Movies in bed?)

This mini portable DVD player is brilliant and perfect to keep the kids entertained on long journies. It came extremely well packed and is very easy to use. You can hook this up to a TV of PC monetor if you so wish but personally I wouldn’t bother. Sound quality from the internal speakers is fairly tinny which is to be expected so I just hook up some speakers using the 3.5mm jack. Battery life is very good as well you should get a few hours of use out of the unit before its time to recharge. You can use this with USB flash drives as well as the input source which is brilliant as long as the drive is formatted in XFAT/FAT32 so for the price, this is fantastic value.

This DVD player comes nicely boxed and comes with user manual, remote control as well as leads, charging cable and car charger. It is so handy for in the car and when travelling. It has a rechargeable battery so you don’t need to be near a plug point at all times. It is a great price for what it is. Down sides are that it feels quite cheap and plasticky, and the sound and vision is just ok. I would still recommend this though.

At 69.99 this isn’t that cheap, and you may question why it’s needed given pretty much everything can just be screened from your phone/tablet. This though is great for car journeys, where you want to conserve your battery or when you know you’ll be in an area with poor signal. It’s also fantastic for people who don’t pay for streaming services or to watch things that aren’t available online.

It operates as you’d expect a DVD player to operate and it does so simply with minimal buttons, all clearly labelled, and all easily accessible.

The unit itself is lightweight and does have a plasticky feel to it, but does function well enough that this isn’t an issue. Playback is responsive, the screen has good quality but with a screen of this size, it’s always going to look good with no pixelation or stretching. There’s no skipping when being used in a moving vehicle so your discs are safe from potential scratching.

I love this!! It is compact and easy to pack in to your handbag to take with you whenever you are going on a journey with the kids. The battery life is really good and can last a good 3 or 4 hours without needing to be charged. You can also charge it in the car so that is really useful as well. The picture quality is great and I never have any issues with the kids when they are watching it.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis was obtained with the specific purpose of entertaining the kids in the car on long journeys to visit the grandparents. And in this context it works a treat.

The player comes with a mains plug and car charger, which is handy when traveling or camping, which we do a lot. An HDMI cable would have been a useful addition, but this is easy enough to buy separately.

Overall the device is very functional. Sound and volume are good, and if you use headphones you can completely eliminate the background noise from the disc spinning. Picture is reasonable — not the quality you’d get on a TV but still acceptable. We especially like the rotatable screen, which is brilliant when in the car and you want to avoid the glare of the sun.

Only drawback really is the remote control, which tends to be a bit temperamental. This isn’t a big deal if you’re watching in the car, as there are full controls on the device, but could be annoying if you want to use it with your TV.

Overall, it serves the purpose I hoped it would in entertaining the children while on the road, and considering the price, I think it’s definitely a worthwhile investment.

Thanks for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Comes well packaged and protected in a cardboard box, from the outside you can see exactly what you’re getting. Inside you get the dvd player, remote control, 3 pin plug ac adapter, av cable and a handy car charger. The dvd player has a large 10.5 inch viewing screen. Really easy to use, you can you the buttons on the player or the remote control to play and navigate through the menus. It says it supports usb/sd card/TV sync, we’ve only used it with dvds so our young son can watch. The screen has 270 degree swivel, so you can move and position to give the best viewing. It has a rechargeable battery, so can be used with the battery or with the cables at home or in the car on the go. It’s quite chunky in design and does have a plasticky look and feel about it. It does show all the little finger prints from being touched and held. The buttons on it are clicky and loud when pressed. The picture is okay and fine for our son to sit and watch his favourite films. On the bottom, there’s 4 feet to help it sit steady on the surface. It’s volume is quite reasonable, not too loud or too quiet and you can plug headphones into it. You can hear the dvd disc whirring around when it’s playing, might be irritating for an adult but our little one doesn’t take any notice of it at all. Great to be able to take out in the car and keep children entertained. Easy to use. Works as it should. Does seem an average price for an average product.

In this day and age, I actually find buying dvds cheaper than streaming. Often you can’t find your title, or it costs an extortionate amount of money to rent or buy it – when you can pick up some quality films in charity shops now for 10p. They work better without a lag and the quality is brilliant.

This for me works really well for watching films in bed, or as a cheap way of entertaining kids on a long journey. It’s got output sockets so you can plug a bigger TV in to it, it’s like the most modern version of a DVD player you could get. I’m really pleased with it, and it’s kickstarted me watching through my dvd collection again!

Gosh this is a life saver for car journeys! It keeps the kids entertained in the car and I’m over the moon with how well it works. It’s easy to set up and use, the kids can do it by themselves and I like that they can plug headphones into it too. The swivel screen is extremely cool and ideal for the car. I like that I can charge it in the car too with the adapter but to be fair the battery life is more than enough for car journeys we make. The player is strong and sturdy, it can withstand a few drops (yes we’ve had some already) and it’s nice and chunky for the kids to hold but also lightweight so it’s easy to move around. The screen size is very good and I like that it has many viewing angles thank you the swivel head. I’ve only used dvds on it but I have to say the picture quality is decent and the sound quality is good too, no distortion and it’s all clear and crisp on both the sound and picture. I haven’t used the remote that much but it is good to have it around if needed. It works well, has a decent range and it’s not complicated. For the price it’s good value due to the quality but as dvds are slowly becoming old technology it should perhaps be a little cheaper.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a portable DVD player that measures approximately 26cm x 18.5cm x 3cm. The screen size is 22.5cm x 12.5cm.

Due to my health, I spend a lot of time in hospital, from the chemo suite to overnight stays. I begrudge paying for poor quality Wi-Fi internet access so this DVD player is just perfect.

I can watch movies or box sets (for longer stays and with headphones on too obviously) to keep me occupied.

The player is quite light but feels well made and reasonably sturdy.

Now it comes with a complete set of cables, a charger for the car, a uk plug charger, and an av cable for the tv (you would still probably need an hdmi adapter though). I found on one full charge the battery lasted about 6 hours, surprisingly good.

Obviously you can play DVDs and CDs on it, but it also has ports for a usb stick and a memory card up to a max of 16gb (it doesn’t have the memory to handle larger cards). The remote control gadget works well as do the function buttons on the player itself.

I love the way you can position the screen, it’s not like a laptop screen as you can swivel it too which is great to keep lights from shining in the screen.

The screen quality is very good, lovely and clear and the sound quality is just as good, especially with headphones p.

Overall, this is a fantastic portable DVD player with a great quality screen image and excellent sound. Perfect for my personal needs and great for travelling and giving young kids something to watch on car journeys. (Older kids will just use their phones these days) . Brilliant.

This portable DVD player had been absolutely brilliant for my 6 year old son. The battery lasts for ages and it has been perfect for travelling. My son has been watching this on the aeroplane, I’m the car and on holiday. The player is nice and light which makes it great for travel. It comes with a car charger and charges up quick which has been very handy, it also comes with a normal plug and a controller. The picture quality is fantastic and the screen is a very good size. My 6 year old has really enjoyed this and it’s made travelling so much easier without my little one getting bored. Very easy to use and I can’t recommend this enough!!
Well worth the money and brilliant quality.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis DVD player may seem outdated at first thoughts but still has many uses. The player is a small portable size and good quality. The plastic used feels good. It played my old DVD’s very well and the unit has all the buttons to control the unit If you don’t wish to use the remote control. You get a power supply unit and also a handy car 12v cable which is handy for car trips.
The unit can also take USB sticks loaded with movies which is so handy and saves me taking so many DVD’s and also risking kids scratching them.
The DVD player is very handy on days out and in car for the kids to watch movies and keep them occupied.
The screen display can rotate and the resolution is very fine and movie picture quality is sharp and nice to view.
There are 2 front speakers and the sound is clear and good enough but aren’t bassy or the luxury premium type. But they are adequate for their purpose.
I could even plug the DVD player to my large home TV and watch old DVD’s using the supplied cable.
This player is handy in so many ways and I thoroughly enjoyed using it.
    Very good price.

    Handy portable DVD playe

So this is really simple to use – simple enough for a 5/6 year old to navigate. Great for sleep overs or travel; it’s also not huge and quite lightweight.

    Comes nicely packaged.

First use, when you go to put a DVD in, do remove the protector from the laser. We couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working and thought maybe it was a region thing! I had stupidly missed the protector – it won’t read the disks with it on.

Remote is battery powered, easy to use, kids are able to use it themselves once explained what each button does.

The screen can be 180 turned both ways and tilted, so you can adjust for comfort.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPlayback of DVD’s works pretty well and the resume feature also works properly.

It also seems to be happy to play Region 2 and 1 DVD’s with no problems.

It also plays older movies if you want in the classic 4:3 aspect ratio (setting change required on second tab of setup options).

Where it falls short is when on internal battery power.

Until the last 15 minutes there is no indication of battery level, after over 4 hours of playback you then get a flashing low battery indication on screen, a few minutes later the picture goes and sound continues and then it stops completely.

Imagine having a car without a petrol gauge, this is a bit like that and if you need to keep the kids entertained on a journey you need to know it will do the full trip.

It does also come with a 12v car adapter lead which is 1.8M long

When charging it has a red LED on the front which goes off when charged (amber when in use).

Thus I would try to always to use it on external power.

The LCD screen is okay and bright enough for indoor use.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is a lovely compact DVD player which is high quality.
The picture is very clear and bright. The screen rotating means that it is easy to use in many situations. I love that it is quiet when the disk is going round as this is one of my pet peeves that some DVD players have lots of noise and so ive had to turn the volume up however this is not a problem with this player.
The buttons/keys are easy and straight forward to understand and so i think it is brillia

Picture is good, feels very ‘plasticky’ and no starp to use it in a car as advertised.

Played a simple DVD the sound is basic, but good enough for a personal viewing.

Advertised as being able to hang off a car seat back, but no strap to facilitate that.

The buttons are clacky and the hollow plastic case resounds with the clack.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is an excellent DVD player from Yoton with a 90 degree / 180-degree rotation 10.5-inch screen which make it perfect to place on the back of the car seat headrest. The 6-hour battery life is helpful and makes it easy to move around.

I tried running DVD, CD and USB memory card and all works fine although you need to be vary of the DVD/CD noice similar we get in our laptops. The best part is I was able to connect my laptop hard disc through the USB connector and was surprised it was able to read/open all the video and pictures from the hard disk.

The screen size of 10.5 is good and the screen quality is crisp and clear as what one may expect from an HD video. It can be recharged with multiple power cables including the 3 sockets main plug or the car charger.

If one thing I wanted it to have it would be a wifi connection and being able to play youtube however that is just a thought.

Overall it’s a good, strong and quality player to have.

I do hope this review helped you.

There’s lots of good things but it is noisy! You can hear the DVD whirring around and it’s a bit off putting, but you can always turn the sound up I guess!

The unit feels a bit cheap but it works fine. The technology is an obviously not new as I’ve had one of these for at least a decade. This compares not that favourably with my 10 year old Sony one, but it isn’t a branded item so I didn’t expect it to.

What it has, over and above the one I have already, is that you can attach it to different things. It has a USB port and an SD card port as well as the DVD input.

It’s quite versatile and the screen spins around so you can mount it at the back of a car headrest.

It’s easy to operate but you need to turn it on at the side not on the front (where you would assume as it’s where a button is labeled with the on sign!). I had to look at the instructions to find the on button! It’s just by where the charger goes in.

Overall it gets a good rating because it’s very versatile but these have come down so much in price, I wonder if you can find a branded version that maybe isn’t as noisy, for almost the same price. Depends if you need all the different inputs or not.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersPortable DVD player.

I was sent this in return for my honest opinion on it.

This is such a handy little device to take on the go for the little ones, or for them to lie down and relax with the movie, or some music etc.

This is a nice design, there are four little feet on the base, it’s fairly lightweight but doesn’t feel cheap quality or flimsy. It’s not something I’d leave alone with a toddler but the 5 and 7 year old have been fine with it alone.

    It’s a good size at roughly 26cm x 18.5cm x 3cm. The screen alone is 22.5cm x 12.5cm, so I thought that was pretty good.

This is rechargeable, you have a car charger and a UK plug charger provided. You also have an av cable, to connect it to tv etc. If you have a tv that needs a HDMI port like ours, you can use an adapter like we did. This can last up to 6hrs, we had the volume up full blast and this lasted around 3 movies, before turning off.

You can use DVDs, CDs, a USB dongle and memory card, the only thing with this is, you need to use only up to 16gb, so that’s something we had to go and purchase as we only have large ones. These methods all worked well.

You have a remote as well as function buttons on the player, access pause, play, stop, skip etc, subtitles, screen off whilst sound still on and more. You can access mode switch from both the player and remote too.

The screen can be positioned in a few ways, one direction can be turned half way around, the other direction allows a 180 move and even then you can fold it back on an angle, or all the way flat if you wanted. The movie will start running in around 20 seconds, this includes load up and start. It does have a memory function, so it will continue where you left off with your last movie. You can also access the special features from movies too, which I thought was good.

You do have some slight noise when using a DVD, the start up noise is slightly louder than the running noise but neither are offensive I thought and the little ones didn’t mention it at all.

I thought the image/screen quality was fantastic, definitely better than I thought it would be having first looked at the device. The sound is good quality, even when up full. The volume doesn’t go the loudest but good enough for the little ones, even whilst something else is on in the room.

I would recommend it. I’ve found it so useful. I think its probably a little more than I thought it would be, I thought around 55-60 but I do think it’s a decent little player and if it lasts a good while, it would probably be worth it.

    Pretty dece

Although this is now considered a niche product, as DVDs are disappearing,
it can be useful at home to watch movies and cartoons, so that children do not use the pc / tablet and do not risk breaking it, but above all to protect younger users from incorrect and potentially dangerous uses; or to entertain children on long journeys.
It has a nice updated display which relieves visual fatigue caused by long-term viewing.
The audio is heard well, the remote control is also comfortable to manage from afar.
The simple operating system and large volume make this player perfect for children and the elderly.
Supports multimedia files via USB and SD card.
It guarantees continuous playback for hours.
Thanks to the rotation and flip function, it offers a good viewing experience and easy positioning.
It closes when not in use, so as to take up less space and ensure greater protection from dust and scratches.

This is a reasonably good portable DVD player. DVDs play easily and they can be controlled via the built in buttons or the remote.

Picture quality is fairly good. You can move left or right and the picture stays clear, however up and down movement does lose some image quality. If you’re using it in a car, however, it should easily be viewable by all back seat occupants.

The sound quality is a little disappointing. It only goes up to 20, which would be barely hearable in a car at speed due to the road noise. It’s definitely better used with headphones or plugged into a car stereo, but it’s perfectly loud enough for personal use at home or on holiday.

Build quality of the player is reasonable. You’re not going to get ultra thin and premium materials for the 69.99 price, but it does feel sturdy and should survive the odd knock or two if used by kids.

Overall this is a good portable player, which comes complete with mains and car chargers. A car holder would have been nice to have been included, however they’re reasonably cheap to buy these days and all cars are different anyway.

We’ve used this player a few times now on overnight stays. It’s been good to watch old dvds, which play perfectly fine on the smaller screen.

    Good quality and reasonable image.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis Yoton brand arrived extremely well packaged and comes with a long electric charging cable with a 3-pin plug, plus a long cable with a car cigarette plug for the car and a further plug’n’play cable for watching via a larger TV screen. The DVD player looks not much bigger than an iPad Air tablet with a fold over screen that’s completely flexible. The wide screen measures 10.5″ and has a sharp HD resolution. The DVD player is on the top and very easy to use and play. The controls look smart in silver and are also easy to use plus there’s a remote control too that take 2 AAA batteries. There’s a USB port plus a card port, I could watch photos via these. There’s a headphone port too, the sound is okay on or around the maximum level at 20. The HD screen is very good though the sound is okay but could be better. It has stereo speakers. I tested it out with a couple of DVDs plus a CD, all worked smoothly without any problems. The sound of the DVD does ‘whir’ a bit but with sound on the DVD or CD you don’t really notice it. Please see my photos and video. I am genuinely impressed with this smart looking portable DVD player, it’s perfect to keep the grandchildren happy in the back of the car. I hope my genuine review is helpful to you, thank you for reading it.
