It rocks
Bought a cheap speaker to begin with which sounded terrible. Decided to get the Charge 5 and don’t regret it. It has a great sound, bass, clarity and you can adjust the equalisation in the JBL app.

I was torn between this and some cheaper options from other brands but still decided to get this in the end. The quality of this portable speaker is so good and the battery life can last up to 9-10 hours of non-stop playing. It might vary depending on the volume level but I use it around 70-80% volume all the time.

JBL Charge 5 is a well built speaker that produces amazing sound. We let it play almost all day when we work, cook etc and battery lasts for ages. It creates a surround sound effect and makes it perfect for partying as well.

Immense Bass and Quality
I’ve recently upgraded from the JBL Flip 6 to this speaker, and it’s definitely a more crisp sound quality, deep bass and long battery life. Not too heavy either, so I’ll be taking this on holidays too.
Portability
Everything that is said on the description of the JBL CHARGE 5 is true! Was really excited to receive this product as it is also at an affordable price. Would recommend for everyone as it is extremely portable.

the only comment is it’s a mono if you need stereo you’ll need to get another type which I’ll try next time

Small but mighty. Brilliant purchase. Used in and out of the home. No longer use any other music device. Solid Sterdy design. Doesn’t collect dust. Charges really well.
The charge its self lasts for quite some time before having to re-charge. Can still use whilst on charge also. I personally would like to purchase a second one, to link the pair together. Although it isn’t really needed because it’s loud enough. Thinking of using two at a party. Excellent sound quality.

As a retired sound engineer, I am often disappointed by many modern audio devices and I wasn’t too hopeful about a tiny tube’s ability to capture hi-fi quality sound. They are not accurate and not really what I would call high-quality sound, they have a strange mid-range and are making a nice crisp high-frequency response.
But that is fine because they make up for this in bass and the ability to fill even a medium-sized room. The bass is quite amazing and I now wish I had bought 2 of the WiFi network-enabled ones so I could pair them up.

Me and my dad share a LARGE thing for music, we only had one speaker for about a year which would always get passed around my large family, so we bought 2 of these, and they were so worth the money. Brilliant sound quality, don’t need to charge them for DAYS at a time, and honestly one of the best purchases we’ve done.
Good sound and exceptional value
I bought this as a gift for my wife to enable better sound quality from her tablet. She isn’t particularly tech savvy but had no problems connecting, via Bluetooth, to both her tablet and phone. I was swayed by the positive reviews both from Amazon and What Hi-Fi. Rather weirdly, some colour options scored more highly than others, hence the blue which is ok but wouldn’t have been our preferred option. We were both surprised at the quality of the sound. It’s not hi-fi of course but impressive for the size, flexibility of positioning and the affordable price. Overall, very happy with this and so happy to recommend.
Great portable speake
Really pleased with this speaker. I have replaced a UE Boom 2, which I have had for many years whuch performed really well, but i fancied an upgrade.
The sound quality is a big improvement mainly thanks to the vastly superior bass. The quality of sound is great from low volume right up to the louder settings.
It is bigger and heavier than the UE Boom 2, but the additional size and weight is worth it for the improved sound quality. I haven’t had to recharge the speaker so can’t comment on longevity of the battery.
One additional feature that may well come in handy is the ability to plug a phone into the speaker to recharge it.
Overall really pleased and would recommend if you are looking for a great sounding portable speaker.
Unbelievable sound!
Upgraded from my UE boom, which I have had for a while. I am astonished at the quality and noise coming out of this thing. Best BT speaker I’ve ever heard.
Great quality sound
This is the best portable speaker I have ever had. Previously had a Sonos move and roam and this beats it hands down. Connects to my Alexa and I can have music playing everywhere throughout the house and garden. It’s very loud.
I haven’t used it for a prolonged period yet so cannot comment on battery life. I wanted this speaker for a while and did my research before purchasing.
Big sound, small package.
I bought this for my Mrs to accompany the Go3 that I bought her last year. Let me tell you, this thing packs a real punch and uses the JBL app to tailor the sound to your preferences. If you’re even contemplating a Bluetooth speaker, this one is superb!

Sounds so much bigger than it is! Very clear and bassy audio for such a little speaker. Eq is great for my taste and partyboost works flawlessly with my mums flip 5. Only thing is it trades off quality and bass for loudness at around 60% – but 60% is already pretty loud. I could have got an anker motion boom and it would have been better, but I wanted (one of) the best small & rugged speakers I could get. Use this at work and it gets coated in metal dust from angle grinding all day and it just soldiers on.

Stunning speake
I could not be happier with this speaker. After a lot of research and deliberation, the WhatHiFi review sealed it for me. This is a stunning little piece of kit. Punchy bass and unbelievable volume. Smart design. But what really stands out is the detail in the sound produced, it really picks up the ‘fine print’ in the tracks. I think I’m going to have to get another to pair them for stereo. The Harman influence is very evident in the quality of this piece of kit.

I liked the speaker . Bought one in the summer. Used it quite a few times . It works . Not too big . Not too small. Great sound and bass. You can connect more than one. I bought this one connected it to the other one Great sound if you want a bit more. I connected it to a non Bluetooth boombox that had no boom-with a transmitter and wow ! Now my boombox has boom. I don’t turn it up to maximum cos I don’t need to . In my room it is plenty loud enough . One speaker is enough and is great . 2 just gives it a little extra. Also one for one room and one for another or to take to a friends. Just make sure your friend buys their own if they like it!

a MUST GET speake
This speaker is the best speaker at its size for bluetooth and portability. The sound is incredible, it’s loud and clear and the bass is insane! clear and hella good. I got the Bose speaker for xmas (the one that is bit smaller than this speaker) and Bose is amazing with sound quality but the bass just isn’t as good on it, however… JBL delivers in every aspect.

Suono corposo, bassi presenti, ma anche medi e alti. Suono decisamente poco inscatolato, ma abbastanza ampio. Per questa cifra non saprei proprio cosa pretendere di pi.

Non do 5 stelle perch questo speaker molto carente sui bassi. Io rimedio con un app per equalizzare il suono, pi performante rispetto all’app JBL disponibile, ed il risultato in questo modo soddisfacente. Esteticamente proprio carino. Pagato 132 in sconto, un prezzo pi’ alto non lo trovo appropriato.

Just got my speaker and the sound is amazing. I had a cheaper speaker and it always sounded a bit muffled. Not so with this one, I love it. It’s a lovely design and colour (blue) aswell. I’m so happy with it. I did so much research, looking at speakers costing a lot more and finally plumped for this one. I’m over the moon with it. I can’t comment on battery life yet, as it’s fully charged out of the box, another plus! I can thoroughly recommend this speaker.

Wir haben die Box mit in den Urlaub genommen es war echt sehr praktisch da der Akku erst nach gut einer Woche geladen werden musste in der wir wirklich immer wieder viel Musik gehrt hatten. Nur wenn man die Lautstrke bis aufs Maximus ausreizt hlt der Akku nicht mehr so lange 😀
Sound Quality
The charge 5 has a fantastic sound for its size. We really love the bass from the speaker and overall sound. The sound was that good i purchased another to create a stereo pair. The only down side if you could call it that is its size if you wanted to put it in a back pack.

L’ho acquistata a 150 euro in 3 mesi, un prodotto validissimo che sostituisce in piccoli appartamenti il vecchio stereo hifi (quello con il sub per capirci). Per grandi ville forse serve qualcosa di pi grande. resistentissima, si collega a qualsiasi dispositivo anche i pi strani tipo cellulari cinesi, ed ha un suono ottimo e molto potente. Ha un autonomia importante…se la usi ogni giorno possono volerci 10 giorni prima di ricaricarla e la sua funzione powerbank funziona benissimo. Evvai!

An incredibly solid & involving sound by any standards.
This BT speaker was bought after many weeks of reading reviews, auditioning various makes & models in a well known retail park store and then buying one from Amazon, safe in the knowledge that I could send it back, had it not been satisfactory for my fussy ears.
Its sound quality is outstanding, with crisp, yet not overemphasised highs, rich, tuneful midrange performance and a deep bass response that even my much loved Cambridge A5 integrated amp and JPW monitors on weighted & spiked stands could only barely match!
Seriously; this thing is superb in every respect. Connecting from my Galaxy S20+ ‘phone, my S6 tablet or, via my Bluetooth transceiver, from my turntable, open reel tape machine or LG TV, produced consistently beautiful and believable sound with genres of music from Dubstep to Debussy and from Gerry Cinnamon’s quick picking to ASP or Disturbed’s a**e kicking rock.
I could go on, since I’m so impressed with the JBL Charge 5’s all-round superiority over every other such device I had on my shortlist, but I won’t because typing distracts me when I’m enjoying my music.
I bought the dark blue one but the vast range of colours available will make choosing one easy, no matter what the user’s taste in interior colour schemes.
Highly Recommended and among the best deserved solid 5 star ratings I’ve ever given.
Oh, and the build quality is highly impressive too.
So: a great sounding, solid feeling and beautifully built BT speaker for a very fair price is what you get when you buy this model, so pull that trigger before they’re all snapped up.

The sound quality is extremely good and looks fantastic wherever you put it side table weather that be on a kitchen side or even on grass. The range of connectivity is great. Definitely recommend as a mid to high end perfect portable speaker!
Does it all
I’ve seen a lot of JBL monitors in high end edit suites over the years so it’s a brand with a pedigree. Simple to pair – connects to all my devices quickly, puts out great sound and incredible volume for a portable speaker. Haven’t run it out of battery yet so happy with that as well. Prefer it to my Bose which is admittedly a few years old now.

Kurz: Wer einen Bluetooth Lautsprecher mit ordentlich Wums haben will, sollte sich die Charge 5 holen, allerdings mit einem wichtigen Voraussetzung (siehe unten)
Lang: Die Charge 5 ist meine erste JBL Box, mein bisheriger Bluetooth Lautsprecher war die Bose Soundlink Mini (1. Gen). Man hat die Bose einen geilen Sound mit krftigem Bass, dachte ich bisher.
Aufgrund von Akkuproblemen der Bose Box hab ich mich auf die Suche nach ner neuen gemacht. Meine Ansprche sind langer Akku, guter Bass und Sound und die Gre. Ich hre viel Apashe zur Zeit (Knstler auf YT anhren), also sehr basslastige Musik mit Gesang. Zur Auswahl standen am Ende:
– Bose Flex
– Marshall Emberton
– Soundlink Mini 2
– JBL Charge 5
Marshall Emberton: ausgelegt fr Rock etc. mit 20 h Akku , eher weniger Bass aber mega guter Sound. Aufgrund des geringeren Basses aussortiert
Bose Flex: heftiger Bass, kompakt, guter Sound ABER “nur” 12 h Akku und zweites noch greres ABER: man kann die Box NICHT mit dem Laptop verbinden, da die Bose Connect App gebraucht wird und die gibt’s nur fr Android/iOS
Soundlink Mini 2 war mir dann doch zu “alt”, weil Technik sich schnell weiterentwickelt. Merke: Je hher die Bluetooth Version ist, desto akkusparender ist die Verbindung zum Handy… Heutiger Standard ist BT 5.1 und Bose hat den noch nicht
JBL Charge 5: guter Sound, langer Akku (bis zu 20 h bei mittlerer Lautstrke, allerdings ist die Box da schon relativ laut im Vergleich zu anderen). Und richtig guter Bass, ABER es mssen zwei Punkte erfllt sein
1. Die Box muss die neueste Firmware Version haben, damit der Equalizer in der JBL Portable App benutzt werden kann. Bass hab ich auf den hchsten Regler, Mitten eins hoch und Hhen eins runter und
2. Euer EQUALIZER auf dem Handy muss entsprechend eingestellt werden.
Ich habe ein Samsung S21 Ultra und mein Equalizer war Standardmig auf “normal”. Zu finden ist der in der Samsung Musik App oben rechts auf die drei Punkte -> Ton & Einstellungen oder so). War vorher recht enttuscht vom Sound…klang schlecht, wenig Bass.
Habe den Equalizer auf “Rock” gestellt und siehe da, mehr Bass, allerdings waren die Hhen und Mitten bissl anders. Jeder sollte damit rumspielen, bis die perfekten Einstellungen gefunden sind (Internet gibt’s Infos, wann und wie mehr Bass etc.). Die Einstellungen vom Equalizer wirken sich auch auf andere Kopfhrer aus, nur so am Rande. Ich benutze noch die Sony XM4 und musste den Bass in der Sony App runter stellen, da mir sonst die Ohren weggeflogen wren
Also kurzum: ich bin mega happy mit der Box, ob drauen oder drin: sie gibt den Sound gut wieder und auerdem kann man sein Handy noch daran lade

This is the third of these speakers we have purchased – this was to replace one where the battery was no longer holding the charge. Great big sound for a smallish speaker and weather proof.

No cons all pros. Best portable speaker, tried a few others now from other reputable makes and this is by far the best if you like the style

Bought to provide the music for my daughter to walk down the aisle on her big day. The room was big enough for 130 people. The speaker easily produced a beautiful sound that could be heard from the back to the front of the venue.
I’ve had a JBL Charge3 speaker for a few years, but I couldn’t trust the battery to last through to the end of the ceremony. The Charge5 is an outstanding speaker. Crystal clear sound and good bass tone.

SUPERB PIECE OF KIT
Bought the JBL Charge5 to use in our GardenLodge. The superb stereo surround sound resonates wonderfully through the wood like being in a theatre. I didn’t expect it to be quite as good indoors or in the garden. But it didn’t disappoint. The sound and clarity is excellent. I’m a big Bose fan but this little speaker comes equal first along side the Bose. Thanks to my Grandson for persuading me that ‘things have moved on’ since my old JBL on stage II recently died. My advice just buy it!
GREAT LITTLE SPEAKER
Very happy. Bought as a replacement for a much more expensive other branded speaker (twice the price) that proved to be very glitchy. This is simple to use and a great sound. Only thing i can think to improve, is it would be good to have recharging cradle /base to sit on rather than a plug in cable.

A well balanced Bluetooth speaker.
I’ll keep it simple, 10 watts to the tweeter , 30 Watts to the mid driver. The drivers are split so tweeter handles the high frequency for music and mid bass driver for the lows. The hole speaker frequency ranges from 20khz to 45hz.
Build quality is clean minimal and a sharp design, similar to the bigger brother the xtreme 3.
And keep in mind the model number at the bottom of the box or under the waterproof tab , the first two letters indicates what type, in my case I got the black one , it’s TL it’s a balanced sound.
if it’s a ND then it’s more bassy than treble. In the end no big difference. I believe that’s the (gray/green version) as I’ve seen on YouTube.
Cons
No aux port for direct audio and the charge 5 is a mono driver with a tweeter driver.

ADVERTENCIA
Tena un JBL Flip 3 y quise emparejarlo con un Charge 4, pero al parecer no tienen la misma tecnologa y no son compatibles. Es cierto que el Flip 3 es de hace ms de 3 aos.
Tambin quise conectar un Flip 5 al Charge 4 y tampoco son compatibles.
Este Charge 5 viene con la nueva Tecnologa PartyBoost que slo lo hace compatible con en Flip 5 y otro dispositivo de Charge 5

Me resulta difcil de comprender que dos altavoces comprados en enero del mismo ao no sean tecnolgicamente compatibles.
El concepto de tecnologa que yo tena, es que un nuevo protocolo es compatible con versiones anteriores. Es decir, un dispositivo con Bluetooth 5 es compatible con versiones anteriores, pero en JBL no es as.
DIFERENCIA CON EL CHARGE 4
El nuevo modelo Charge 5 es prcticamente igual en medidas y peso que su predecesor.
Entre las diferencias ms destacadas encontramos:
– Potencia de salida de 30 + 10 W frente a los 30W del Charge 4
– Versin de Bluetooth 5.1 frente a 4.2
– NO tiene salida de audio Jack 3.5mm
En el aspecto de diseo encuentro estas diferencias:
– Logo frontal en grande a diferencia de todos los modelos anteriores que vena en pequeo.
– La tapa trasera slo oculta el conector USB-A dejando el USB-C al aire para que si lo usas como PowerBank no necesites abrir la tapa.
– La base cambia un poco. Este modelo tienen unas “rayas” de goma. Es muy estable.
– El indicador de batera es una raya de led que va variando de intensidad en funcin de su capacidad. En el Charge 4 eran varios puntitos que se iban apagando.
RECOMENDACIN
Aunque para la utilizacin del altavoz no es necesario usar su App, recomiendo bajarla. Como App no tiene gran funcionalidad, ya que slo te permite reconocer los altavoces conectados y si tienen la misma tecnologa, te permite hacer la vinculacin desde el mvil, si necesidad de ir altavoz, por altavoz pulsando la tecla emparejamiento.

Yo tengo la App para comprobar las actualizaciones disponibles. El JBL Charge 5 nada ms salir al mercado y probarlo, ya tena una actualizacin disponible. La actualizacin llevar unos 20 min instalarse.
9 VALORACIN
El JBL Charge 5 es un excelente altavoz, el mejor altavoz porttil que pude probar.
A pesar de algunos comentarios, este altavoz es original de la casa y desde la App de JBL lo reconoce y vincula perfectamente. As mismo, se vincula con otros dispositivos JBL sin problemas, creando un sonido encmese calidad.
Tiene una excelente calidad de construccin, es muy resistente y la calidad de sonido es mar buena, con la posibilidad de conectarse a dos telfonos mviles a la vez.
Tiene soporte de la tecnologa JBL PartyBoost para vinculacin de hasta 100 altavoces.
El altavoz de JBL est protegido con una rejilla metlica de gran resistencia ante la presin y que cubre todo su cuerpo. As se mantienen los altavoces debidamente protegidos con el agarre firme de nuestra mano o en el caso de algn impacto. Adems, el acabado de trenzado de hilo sinttico repele el agua.
Los radiadores laterales estn protegidos con unos topes de goma con una lnea de diseo que permite la salida del sonido aunque lo tengamos en posicin vertical. Los de mi Flip 3 estaban ms expuestos y corran ms peligro de daarse con cadas o con nios metiendo las manos sobre ellos.
Es un altavoz totalmente impermeable y sumergible y tambin est protegido frente a polvo y arena, por lo que lo puedes usar en piscina y playa sin ningn temor.
En la parte superior de altavoz cuenta con los siguientes botones:
* Encendido
* Botn de vinculacin con otros altavoces compatibles con JBL PartyBoost
* Play
* Vinculacin Bluetooth
* Control del volumen (+ -)
En la parte de atrs encontramos una tapa con las siguientes conexiones:
– Conector USB-C
– USB-A con funcin powerbank.
Cuenta con un indicador del nivel de batera est situado en la parte inferior del frontal del altavoz.
SONIDO
En el JBL Charge 5 los graves son profundos y contundentes, aunque no exagerados. Los bajos suenan de manera muy clara hasta en su mximo volumen, aunque no necesitars tanta potencia, ya que con tan solo la mitad del volumen es suficiente para ambientar una sala y el mximo volumen es perfecto para usarlo en el exterior en sitios con mucho ruido, como la playa.
Cuenta con unos radiadores pasivos metlicos 3D te proporcionar un gran sonido enriquecido y de profundidad sobre todo en los sonidos bajos.
Tanto en msica como en vdeo, proporciona matices y voces claras. Un altavoz con un resultado final de sonido espectacular con apenas distorsin.
Estoy encantado con este JBL Charge 5, ya que me proporciona un sonido muy ntido y aunque sea un altavoz Bluetooth porttil, lo utilizo a menudo conectado al Fire Tv para ver para ver pelculas y series en el proyector. Junto con el Charge 5, tengo emparejado un Flip 5 y el sonido es fantstico. Lo malo, es que desde el mando del Fire Tv no puedo controlar el volumen.
CONTROLES
Pulsando el botn de play una vez pausaremos la reproduccin; y si lo pulsamos dos veces podremos saltar a la siguiente cancin.
El Charge 5 me parece un altavoz espectacular con unos graves brutales!
Sin embargo no supone una mejora considerable frente al Charge 4. Puede que tenga un sonido algo ms potente, pero no compensa si ya tienes el 4.
Estos nuevos modelos de altavoces JBL vienen con un sonido en mono. Para conseguir un sonido en estreo necesitaramos dos Charge 5
CONCLUSIN
Este altavoz tiene una de las mejores relacin calidad/precio de Amazon.
El JBL Charge 5 acaba de salir el 18 de marzo de 2021 al precio oficial de 179. Seguro que en unos meses se podr conseguir a un precio ms econmico.
Quiz puedas encontrar mejores altavoces Bluetooth en cuanto a calidad de sonido, pero no a este precio.
El JBL Charge 5, para mi, es una de las mejores opciones disponibles para un altavoz Bluetooth porttil, es resistente e impermeable.
Lo malo de este altavoz, es que no puedes utilizarlo para llamadas o usar la asistencia de voz. El JBL Charge 3 s que vena con un asistente de voz para Siri o Google, por lo que el Charge 5 representa un paso adelante en casi este sentido.
