MEDiBrace RAY-D8 Far-Infrared Heated Lower Back Support

MEDiBrace RAY-D8 Far-Infrared Heated Lower Back Support Brace Lumbar Belt for Men and Wome

SUPPORT, SOOTHE & HEAL

infrared radiation back support belt braceback supportfar-infrared pain relief

+ EFFECTIVE BACK SUPPORT

The support to your back comes from four plastic rods, or ‘stays‘ that are woven into the seams around the back brace. This provides the perfect sweet spot for back support whilst maximising freedom of mobility.

The double straps either side are pulled and attached to strong Velcro on the main back support belt so you can dial in the desired compression.

+ DEEP, SOOTHING RELIEF

Like the sun on your back, or the warmth in your bones from taking a bath; Far-Infrared heat can penetrate much deeper than traditional cheap, disposable heat pads* that you can actually feel the difference.

The heat from those disposable pads only lingers in the top layers of the skin without going deeper into the muscle (about 1cm). FIR heat penetrates the muscle up to 4cm.

*Ref: (“Far infrared radiation (FIR): its biological effects and medical applications” by Fatma Vatansever and Michael R. Hamblin et al. Photonics Lasers Medical Journal. 2012 Nov 1; 4: 255–266

+ ACTIVE HEALING

Far-Infrared radiant heat has had many scientific studies that have determined the beneficial, healing properties to the human body. FIR heat improves blood circulation and metabolic function and cleanses the body of harmful toxins.

I just bought this item and used it a few times.
it really helps with lower back pain. I have a bulging disc and no pain killers I have tried work as good as this pad. I only use on the first setting, and it is more than enough

Fantastic product!!!! After having severe sciatica for 9 weeks and having to work,I could not see a way out of being in pain other than taking strong pain killers and performing stretch exsersis. I purchased this medibrace to help relieve discomfort, but what it actually has done is got rid of the sciatica all together!!!
I would strongly recommend this to anyone who has lower back pain!!!

This product is an excellent piece kit. It does everything it says on the package.
I use it at work and when out walking in the Lakes and the Dale’s. The slimline fit with the velcro straps make it extremely comfortable to wear at all times.
The after sales service is also very efficient. I phoned the head office for a general enquiry, and a very pleasant gentleman called Stephen returned my call very promptly and answered my enquiry.
I would seriously recommend this product to anyone who has minor back problems.

I have a herniated disc that can let go without warning and this brace has enabled me to carry on working, lifting heavy kitchen appliances. Wear the brace all day without the heat pad on as not felt need to but its nice to have on when driving home from work.

10yrs been suffering with excruciating pain in my back 24/7. I’ve been on oralmorph & fentinel patches whole time, also the throw away patches to + wheat bags & hot water bottles now won’t need anymore. This is something been waiting for for yrs I’ve only had on for an HR & feels brilliant.

Exactly what I’ve been waiting for. Super high quality back support belt and a USB heated pad all in one kit. Perfect combination to tackle my poorly backache.

Recommend a USB extension cable if you want to plug it into mains, but cable is an ideal length for plugging into a portable power bank.

Heat pad easy to use, warms up nice and toasty and FAR better than the so-called ‘self heated’ jade stones nonsense. Great thing is you can remove the heat pad easily and continue to use back brace support.

    Love it, amazing product!

*UPDATE* – the manufacturers contacted me and were very helpful.

They replaced the heat pad and sent a free medicare brace as a gift (which I was going to purchase for my mum anyway!)

Also sent a very nice apology note (small things make a big difference!)

Great great customer service. Thank you to the medicare team

Bought this for my 85 year old father who suffers with back pain. Said that it helps but finds it difficult to bend down should he be wearing it when doing the garden. My daughter bought a power battery for it as well. Would be good if it had a little pocket or something sewen in to keep the battery in rather than tucking it into the belt or keeping it in your pocket. Said that it gives off a good heat which is always a plus what with the energy prices!

I got this belt for my back at first it was working well tho a bit limited because you have to be near a plug socket but I was still able to use it until 4 week later then nothing no heat, so the belt is only good for support now.
After posting my review I was contacted by medibrace and they offered to replace my heat pad and I received a new pad the next day. The customer service as been second to non if you decide to try medibrace they will deal with any issues you may have.

I chose this to help with my lower back pain and sciatica which has been constant for several years and I have had several different types of back brace / warmers and I have used the sticky pads that heat up and to be fair the sticky pads do the job but I needed something that is reuseable and from all aspects, for instance using this belt with a power bank makes it rechargeable and you can be mobile with the belt as the power supply is in the form of a charger type plug of which there are 3 different types of plug you can use depending where in the world you are or more specifically Europe and the UK and USA .. now this for me has been great as my back can go at the simplest movement and on average about twice a week and using this eases the pain to a bearable degree and enough till it eases off, its a nice slow warm up and not too hot as it has 3 heat settings that are selected with the button on the power cable lead which I will say is too short I don’t see how you are supposed to use this effectively with such a short cable unless you use a power bank .. the power lead is attached to the sealed warming section which is slotted into a pouch which then velcros into the belt at the back . the quality of the stitching and fabrics used to construct the belt is of a high standard and will last a good amount of usage over time its worth the money for the relief it gives and the overall quality of the product …

Works a treat , back pain is no joke and this soothes

This belt is literally like a hot water bottle that is strapped to your back and never cools down. The heating element itself is removable and there is a pocket inside the belt to place the heater. I like this idea because you can wear the brace without the heating if you feel like it. The heater doesn’t take long at all to heat up and also has different heating levels which can be adjusted using the control buttons. It’s powered using USB which is handy as you can use a power bank to make it portable. It also comes with a plug included which has different plug types making it perfect for travelling with. Overall, it’s a well thought out product, and the quality is great. Nothing to fault.

Being tall and driving for work always gives you lower back pain. Got this for myself and been using this every other day and feeling reliefed already. Three different heat levels to pick from according to your needs.
Brace is perfect size and fit’s comfortably.
You can directly power with the adapter supplied or you can use a powerbank, make sure the power bank is powerful enough.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’m a long time back pain sufferer, back support braces keep my sanity. I was crossing my fingers and toes that this wasn’t going to turn out to be a dud, but as it turns out it’s the product I’ve been longing for. I’ve been using throwaway heat pads for a few years. I would insert them between this type of brace and my back. But they are always too hot and don’t last long anyway.
This is something else. The heat is not as intense, but it radiates deep into your body more, if that makes any sense. You will know that feeling after taking a hot bath or sitting in the sun for an hour, the heat is in your bones for some time after. The far infrared heat feels deep inside you and you can still feel it even after removing it, it’s pretty amazing and feels theraputic. There’s a lot of information online about the benefits of far infrared heat.

There are a couple of things you should know before buying this product.
The first is not to expect the same intensity of heat that a disposable heat pad delivers. Remember that it’s a different type of heat that you can feel deep inside your back and is better for you. Even so, I had mine on the top setting, but found I had to reduce it to lowest after 20 minutes or so.
The second thing you need to know is that you WILL want to use a portable power bank with it. They give you a USB mains adaptor which would be handy to take on holiday with you (has Europe and USA connections too). However the cable from the controller to the USB connection is fairly short, so your mains socket will need to be near (or use an extension lead).

You might think this is a bad thing, but you would NOT want the cable to be TOO long if you’re mobile with the device. Portable power banks are cheap if you don’t have one (about 5 in the pound shop), and you can just stuff it into the band of the brace or in your pocket. Get a couple of them and keep one on charge is my advice.

The great thing is that you can remove the device when you don’t want the heat (it detaches easily from the medibrace with velcro). The medibrace works just like a normal medibrace does, supporting your lower back just perfectly without it being too wide or obstructive. The size is exactly the same as my existing medibrace too.
Beautiful storage ‘drawer’ box with it. The quality and look of the brace is excellent. I always fancied a black version and now I have one.
All in all, I’m delighted with this.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe brace fits in the same way as other back braces using velcro and elastic to provide the pressure. The materials and stitching are all really great quality and it provides a good level of support to the lower back. The ribs don’t dig in but do add some rigidity in just the right places.

The main selling pont of this is the heating element that can be fitted into a little pouch which is in turn attached to the middle of the brace using more velcro. It’s very easy and intuitive to put together and use, with just one button to cycle through 3 power levels or off. On the highest setting you can really feel the heat, which is great. It’s not uncomfortably hot over a layer of clothing but I think it’ll end up being turned down to one of the lower settings after a while.

There’s a USB power supply included in the box, rated 5V 2.5A, which works fine but in reality will be of limited use because the cable that attaches to the brace is fairly short. You could use it but you’d have to be very close to a socket. In reality using a fairly beefy USB power bank will be the better way to go. I’ve been using one rated for 2.1A and it works really well. There’s nowhere provided to store a power bank so it’ll need to go in a pocket.

Overall I’m very pleased with it. It’s the most comfortable back brace I’ce tried and I love the heating function.
