Ease of actual use, as I have arthritis in both hands, and I have loads of pruning to get through this time of year.
Very sharp
Very sharp and easy to hold. Managed to cut through some pretty thick branches with minimal effort. I wished they had been a bit bigger but that’s my own fault for not reading the description properly. They haven’t blunted yet.

Solid budget priced secateurs
Comfortable to hold and cut well. Sadly after a few weeks one of the handles came loose and I had to glue it back on securely. Do the job for the price.
Good internal spring design, but loose handle covers
I have had two pairs of these. They are sharp and cut well and there is no spring visible to loose. However, the red handle covers slip off very easilly and are quickly lost, leaving a less comfortable grip

Strong and sharp
These work really well and are excellent value for money. I thought about getting a more expensive pair, but secateurs with fancy mechanisms always seem to go wrong after a while. These are simple, straightforward and very effective.
An extraordinarily good piece of garden equipment. You know it can do its job by its weight, not heavy but not like some of the cheaper versions of this item. Cuts sharp and clean (well it is brand new) and has a dead easy movable slot to lock/unlock the blades. Having bought so many pairs of secateurs, here at last is one that is likely to last for many years.

Great secateurs
These are VERY sharp secateurs. They are easy to hold, very comfortable and extremely easy to use. I have weakened grip in my right hand, and these are still very efficient and enable me to do the types of garden jobs I want to, but can’t always manage.
I’m very happy for these to be in my gardening arsenal, and am even looking forward to the annual prune- fest in the autumn and again in spring.
Hot knife through butte
The blades on these secateurs are very sharp and are like a hot knife through butter when pruning in the garden – seriously impressive. I’ve had no issues with the handles as mentioned by other reviewers – they seem to be glued firmly in place. Probably the weakest point is the locking bolt which is unlikely to last like the one on the rusty 30 year old secateurs in the back of your garden shed. Nonetheless, these are very good at what they do and the price is reasonable
Secateurs
My wife does a hell of a lot of gardening, and gets through a few pairs of sacateures.
These ones were sturdy, sharp, comfortable to use, and really did the job.
They are well made, using decent materials, and I have a good feeling that they will last a long while.

I have never had a pair of bypass pruners before, so was pleased to try these ‘EONO by Amazon 8.5 Inch Traditional Bypass Pruning Shears,Tree Trimmers Secateurs,Garden Pruners’.
1. They are a nice weight and sturdy.
2. The red handles are comfortable to hold and easy to use.
3. There is a red plastic button that holds the blades safely closed until you slide it. It is easy to operate the button with the pruners in one hand.
4. The blades are nice and sharp and pass by each other smoothly and closely.
5. I have used it for the last couple of weeks, pruning back our espaliered cherry and roses in the garden. The blades are still sharp and clean. The coating on the top blade helps the shears stay clean.
6. Obviously they will not cut through thick branches as easily as a ratchet pruner but they are perfect for up to nearly two centimetres in diameter.
In summary – a good, sturdy, comfortable pair of bypass pruners that I will use a lot. The price of 11.99 is fair in my opinion.
Great shears - Comfortable grip - Strong leverage
These are great for common garden pruning tasks and most importantly are nice and comfortable to hold and operate. They can exert a good amount of force with reasonable leverage and smooth action, making it easy to use even when you are stretching or in an awkward position. They were very sharp on arrival and seem pretty substantial and easy to resharpen as required.
Heavy weight shears.
When you handle these they feel quite heavy compared to a lot of others available. Which is a good indication as to the kind of pruning they are capable off. The curved blades are of the bypass type and are able to tackle quite a thick stem or small branch. Quite heavy as I mentioned the Metal they are made off is quite thick. The handle section is covered in a soft tough plastic which I like. The spring is hidden within one of the handles. So I don’t think any hands will get caught. Only comment I would make is that to get the blades to there widest you do need big strong hands to then close them. I found no problems with that but anyone’s with smaller ones will struggle on thicker bushes.
On each side there is a closure slide button which keeps them shut and means the cutting edge could not accidentally cut anyone or thing.
Heavy construction and should last for years…..
Great secateurs
Very useful and strong secateurs. The rubbery grip is slightly loose if you try and rotate it, but not really noticeable whilst in use. Very sharp and does the job.
Great for cutting, not great on the hands
The blades are really sharp and cut really well and you can lock them closed. The grip handle isn’t the best quality and will definitely cause irritation from rubbing on the skin after continuous use. I would recommend wearing gloves when if you plan to use the tool for a while at a time. For the price though these are pretty decent.
strongly made and razor sharp
I have a lot of holly bushes and hedges I prefer to trim with pruning shears and I gave these a really good try out , these are really razor sharp and are strongly made not hesitating to cut through quite thick branches very smoothly. Coated with anti-rust and anti- corrosive coating, good plastic handles giving me a good grip and decent safety lock. I like these and rate them, quality made and decent value for money.
good quality shears
EONO Essentials 8.5 Inch Traditional Bypass Pruning Shears, Tree Trimmers Secateurs, Garden Pruners, Pruners and Clippers, Professional Tree and Branch Garden Shears is a good pair of shears which I found to be good quality.
I used them to prune down a tree as well as cut flowers.
The shears cut through hardy stemmed plants as well as softly stemmed plants easily without tearing at the stem which can damage the plant as well as destroy flowers if you want them for display.
I found the actual shears to fit easily and comfortably as well as providing me with good cutting power.

I am very impressed with these clippers, I just received them and went out in the garden to trim some bits…and they’re great! I have a pair of these from a well known chain hardware store and they’re not as good as these…and these are cheaper! Very happy and impressed

Appearances can be deceptive
Clearly in a case where appearances can be deceptive, these secateurs didn’t look very robust in their product packaging. It is a different story on the whole when they are handled; the blades are good quality, sharp and meet well so that you can achieve a good cut and they should also be adjustable if the need arises in the future. The handles are also very soft and forgiving of a long stint pruning in the garden as my pile of garden waste can attest.
There is a safety catch to hold the blades together; although it works well, is a simple mechanism and feels a bit of a weak link in the overall construction. Otherwise, these are very good.
Overall a great pair of pruning sheers
These pruning sheers are extremely sharp and worked really well when cutting a multitude of plants at my allotment. The internal spring works well and hopefully will not rust being enclosed. The lock is easy to apply and appears to be sturdy.
The only slight issue I have is with the handle. The side that is gripped is hollow after the first notch and as a result the three fingers that grip this part of the handle squish the plastic and you feel as if your grip is slipping. This doesn’t stop them from working it’s just a shame that the sleeve couldn’t have had notches all the way down the shaft.
Overall still a great pair of pruning sheers.
Excellent Value
Mt first thoughts were they wouldn’t be great due to the price but I was pleasantly surprised. They are heavy and very sharp. Spring back is good and easy to hold. Nice covering on handles and good quality metal has been used.
Very decent for the price.
These are very comfortable to use. The handle is made from tough rubber which is comfortable on the hand when having to apply pressure. As you’d expect there is a safety release mechanism which holds well although is a bit stiff to initially release but I’m sure this will ease off with time. The blades are nice and sharp but unlike some other pairs I’ve bought in the past you don’t get any spare blade (although I’ve never actually bothered replacing blades in the past so this isn’t an issue for me). For just over a tenner these are a very decent pair of secateurs.
