Could this BE any easier / better?
A quality piece of equipment, simple to set up and connect to app and Wi-Fi (despite the instruction manual which is poor at describing set up). Within 10 minutes out of the box I was playing with app settings and watching my sprinklers start and stop. No more grovelling on the ground outside pressing buttons to set timers. Brilliant product and app. I especially like being able to turn on a valve at the press of a button (to wash the car with a hose).
I brought the 15M wifi dual outlet, after sending many other brands back as they just weren’t reliable. This one is amazing quality, uses the great Smart Life app, is so easy to control and simply works. Can set timers for auto lawn sprinkling of my front and back garden, as well as ad hoc on demand control. Also has a rain system so won’t activate if rain is due that day. Can be controlled from my phone as long as I have a 4g/5g signal or WIFI. How have I lived all my life without one is the question!?
Worked perfectly first time
Connected the Bluetooth receiver and device pretty easy but the instructions differ slightly with terminology used in the manual book compared with the app but guess it’s there updates coming in faster than the printing. Waiting to fully use the 2 separate outputs once I lay out my irrigating system for the garde
Good value for money
So easy to program and install – much easier than the well known make of the system that has failed and is being replaced. If the first 2 weeks is a guide, then this will be an excellent purchase. Time will tell.
Great water management device
Hanging baskets and tubs were watered twice a day throughout the hot summer. No worries when going on holiday and saved a lot of water and time!!
Works well
Being able to manage garden while abroad. Specially after hosepipe ban.
Well built, reliable watering
Good build quality and easy to setup with Smart Life app. Connection and operation reliable.
Excellent water hose timer and on/off
Installed easy and once batteries installed works well. App very good. I tend to use it as on/off for filling watering cans, easier than turning tap on/off, also less ware on tap moving parts which tend to leak after prolonged use.
The ability to independently control 2 outlets is good too.
I can now water my pots in my Irish home from UK!
Once set up it is so easy to operate even for an 80 year old!
Brilliant product!
Brilliant product!
Does the job and is very straightforward to program.
Works well
Good product and after service was good ( I bought two and one of the hubs needed replacing which was done without fuss). You can connect several timers to one hub. Each outlet on regular mains pressure can be timed separately which is needed as the watering number of nozzles is not so much, maybe 5 or 8, so you can split the problem up. Enjoy
Easy to setup automation and has been a great help
I bought this gadget just before two weeks away at the beginning of the heat wave and it’s definitely saved a few plants, possibly paid for itself!
Easy to setup, if you have the WiFi option it’s slightly more involved but I don’t think they could have done a better job. It pairs with the smart life app which I already had to control some sockets, and the timer programming is simple.
Bonus being able to use Alexa or Google assistant to say “turn on the irrigation” and it just works. Possibly a bit of a gimmic and the timer function would work just as well without the WiFi / digital assistant bit but wasn’t much more with the extra hub.
I have it setup with sprinkler on one outlet and irrigation on the other. This way they can be run separately with full water pressure.
Would recommend
Perfection!
Best automatic watering system ever!
Super quiet. It’s super easy to set up and works perfectly.
I would definitely recommend it. Going on holiday for long periods of time it’s no longer a concern for me and my garden.
Recommend 100%
Diivoo Wifi dual zone water timer - Outstanding produc
I don’t generally bother to write reviews on Amazon, as I find the products I usually purchase are either rubbish from the East that I expect to be rubbish, or mainstream items that I buy from Amazon for convenience. In this particular case, I felt obliged to write a review because I am very impressed with this product and I went through a fair amount of trial and error in this product category before I found this one.
Aesthetically, the product is fairly chunky and it could be argued it looks a bit boring, although I think it’s quite attractive. There isn’t a great deal to the unit really, it has a single input and dual outputs. It’s fairly discrete once fitted and just goes about its business without any fuss. It seems solidly built and it was easy to get a good solid fit on the tap. The unit has two yellow arrows, each pointing to one of the outputs. These buttons, in combination with a setting in the phone app are a really neat addition. There is a field within the schedule app called ‘Countdown’ and those buttons activate the zone for the period of time configured within that setting. I found this to be really useful and thought it was very elegantly implemented. In response to a couple of other reviews suggesting the unit is ‘noisy’, I’m not sure what that’s about, but all I can hear is the tap running when mine is active. I haven’t had the product long enough to comment on longevity, but so far it looks solid. I will ensure there is no water inside before I take it inside for Winter to prevent damage.
The second part of this product is the gateway, which you will need to plug into a wall socket near-ish to the timer which will connect via Bluetooth to your timer and wirelessly to your home network, which will allow you to control the timer via the Internet whilst away from home. There is a little configuration to be done when taking the items out of the box for the first time, but I found this to be relatively pain free and haven’t had to re-visit since.
Once the gateway and timer are configured, you can then move onto the phone application ‘Smart Life’. It appears this application works with products of all different shapes and sizes and by the look of it, is nothing to do with Diivoo specifically, it looks like this product just works with that particular app. The app is pretty nice overall, it has a fairly simple layout and has a ‘left’ and a ‘right’ side, which ties in with the zone arrangement on the device itself and so it is very straightforward to know which is which. There are a few nice little design touches which I appreciated – at the very top of the timer screen, it shows the battery level of the timer itself, whether the zones are active or idle and a little weather forecast for the week ahead, which whilst not ground-breaking, was a thoughtful addition.
From the application, you can activate/deactivate the zones with the touch of a button, set the amount of time the physical buttons on the device water for (independently), configure timed or cyclical schedules, snow/rain delays and then it also shows the next and most recent irrigation times, which is also helpful. The schedules themselves are really flexible and this was the main reason I bought the unit. I had sown some new grass seed and it was 35degrees and so frequent but short watering was essential – something the majority of the units I found could not do, or at least not to this level of granularity. It was very easy to configure a schedule to water only within the hours of 8am to 8pm every hour for 3 minutes. If the weather cooled, I could reduce this easily. I coupled this timer with a few of Gardena’s ‘pin hole’ hoses, which perfectly moistened my grass seed without causing puddles. I am convinced these two products together are the only reason my seed was able to grow during the record breaking UK heatwave of Summer 2022.
The application is also smart enabled and this means that you could integrate it with a multitude of IoT applications to water depending on the weather in your area (or a plethora of other triggers, if you’re that way inclined). Or connect to Google assistant etc to water on command. Whatever takes your fancy. I set up the voice controlled activation because I could, more than anything else – it was cool to show off but that’s about it. I could see value in the weather dependent activation though, if you were away from home, for example.
If there’s one minor thing I would change, it would be that the Andoid app tries to be too clever with schedules and will prevent you from creating two schedules with conflicting times. In itself, that is sensible, but the issue comes when you want to have many schedules for different purposes and only enable them when you need them. The way the application currently is, you would have to change/delete the original so that the times do no conflict. It’s an inconvenience, but that is the fault of the app itself, which isn’t even developed by Diivoo as far as I understand.
Overall, this is one of the best products I’ve found on Amazon in the past few years. As a water timer, it is well made, simple and yet very flexible when accompanies by the phone app and gateway. Had there been one, I’d have preferred a 4 zone model, as that would have meant I could replace my perfectly functioning, but less feature-rich Orbit 4 zone model, which whilst very effective, does look a bit of an eyesore with the solenoid units and the wires. I’ll probably add a second Diivoo unit next Summer, which will cover all of my needs. I would recommend the Gardena 4 way manifold which has a good spacing between the ports and feels solid.
Setting up on a fast fibre broadband is annoying
You have to use only the 3.5GHz setting on your fast fibre broadband which is kinda too technical for 90% of us, but once you’ve done this it is a sweet genius of a watering system
Fantastic bit of ki
A bit tricky to connect to the Wi-Fi/phone, but perfect once it did. Comes with little rolls of plumbers tape to get a tight fit (which is a nice touch).
Works brilliantly, can set up regular watering on 2 sides or just turn the sprinkler on when you’ve left the house (my dog goes insane for the hose). No additional noise, so not sure what the other review was on about. Would definitely recommend
I’ve just set this product up and have only used it for 24hrs but my first impressions are that the product is very good.
Included in with the product were:
– All of the connectors for the two hose push-fit connections, including two mini rolls of PTFE tape;
– A Wi-Fi to Bluetooth bridge – which is the same size as a normal smart plug.
The instructions were easy to follow – my only brief confusion was the need to allow Bluetooth connectivity permissions for the SmartLife App. Once added to the App, renaming the two outlets was easy, as was the setting up of timers for each separate output. I already used the SmartLife app and so had already linked my account to my Alexa account. As soon as the two devices were added to SmartLife, they were automatically connected to Alexa. It was then an easy process to create routines for manual control outside the normal timings, to turn on each outlet, wait 10 mins and then turn off. The command ‘Water Greenhouse’ or ‘Water Raisedbeds’ will now water the greenhouse or raisedbeds for 10 mins via voice control.
The product itself feels robust and well made, with limited controls on the device as all of the control is carried out on my android phone. All in all, albeit after only 24hrs, this is an easy 5 stars. Very pleased.
i dont understand people who complain it has to have hub. this is different set. its an extension. imagine scenario where you want to have 4 zones like i did – i buy one set with hub and one without. simple.
