Would recommend to any avid DIY enthusiast. With the price and efficient but cheap battery pack and chargers I would give 6 stars

This is fantastic! I bought it to chop up wood for the fire, but I used it to do my skirting boards with it set at a 45-degree angle. It made the job a lot easier than when I used my jigsaw to do this. Cuts through the wood like butter. The battery holds out good as well. Still going on the first charge after about an hour of work. Rob 🙂

Not really given it a full work out yet, so cannot give 5 star yet. Quite heavy but pleased for the price, will do for me as I am a casual user.

Although this saw had some good reviews there were some bad reviews, particularly about a lack of torque. All I can say is those that gave it bad reviews were either unlucky or didn’t take the time to set it up correctly.

For the price this saw, just like the Hychika cordless drill I have, is nothing short of excellent.

I’ve been using it for the past couple of days to fit a bespoke kitchen. Between us we have this saw and a DeWalt cordless circular saw. Now I’m not going to say this is as good as the DeWalt, but it’s pretty close.

With the 40T blade in it cuts through 18mm hardwood like butter with a cut no different to the DeWalt. With the blade set at 45 I was able to cut perfect French cleats with ease, again as good as the DeWalt.

The angle guage on this is surprisingly accurate and easy to set.

Battery life is excellent if you fully charge the battery before first use. Its probably less than the DeWalt but I’ve been using it for 2 days and haven’t needed to swap the battery over yet.

The charger is straight forward to use but I can’t comment on how long it will take to fully charge a 4ah battery from drained as I haven’t needed to yet.

The most significant differences between this and the DeWalt are weight and the materials it’s made out of.

The Hychika is a fair bit lighter than the DeWalt and whilst it feels sturdy enough its not got the same feel to it as the DeWalt. Then again it hasn’t got the price tag of a DeWalt.

Would it stand up to the rigours of constant trade use? Probably not, but as a DIY tool I honestly don’t think you’d find better in its price bracket.

Bought this quite some time ago and only had cause to use it recently while doing some repairs to a relatives kitchen. Excellent little saw. Not too heavy to operate one handed. Cuts through wood easily and is very accurate. Haven’t yet tried it on other materials but wouldn’t imagine it would be a problem. Like the vacuum cleaner attachment and the fact that the blade is depth adjustable. All in all for the price a marvelous addition to my DIY toolbox. Extremely happy with it.

This saw is powerful, easy to use for most DIY jobs. Had to set up blade angle t0 90degs to base as not very accurate on guide. However once set up and marked correctly, will cut with ease.
For the price, it is very good, if you are expecting perfection, then spend a lot more on a better saw.

Bought this after a careful review of corded machines available. It is a replacement for an old B&D machine which I have had for many, many years. It is a significant upgrade in terms of features, and looks like it will last as well as it’s predecessor. Cannot comment on performance yet as the need to use it has not occurred yet.

I wanted a cheap battery rip saw for my home DIY. This fitted the bill. Not sure if suitable for everyday use. Guard plastic. Blade cuts on the left so you tend to lean to the left instead of leaning over the saw to the right.

It’s not the most powerful and it occasionally quits if you don’t get your timber in the right position I.e. pushing the the timber down when cutting. When you do get it right it’s brilliant. The battery is unbelievable. Today I built an 8m x2m decking, including the base. I did every cut with it (and there were a lot) and when I checked the battery after it was still at 50%.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersThis circular saw is really good for the price. It is made well and durable and It’s very easy to use and has a,decent amount of power in the battery to get the job done. Being cordless is a big bonus as I am not tied down to near a power socket. Having 2 blades is a plus too. It is nice and accurate and great at cutting angles due to way I set it. Overall I am happy with it.

I’ve used it for cutting some boards and posts for a desk and shelving and it did not complain and gave clean and accurate cuts. Didn’t even had to recharge the battery yet! Great for home projects, but nothing is stopping it to be used within business for some odd jobs.
Feels good in the hand with no issues in manoeuvring it and starting the cuts.
Good build quality and simple to follow instructions makes it a great purchase.

Doing it myself as iv been quoted over 7000 by rip off merchants..full kitchen including flooring only come to 5500
    Anyway

Sliced up a 3 inch worksurface.was skeptical about only having 2 blades but the finer one cut through it like butter
Would have been nice to have a more clearer line runner on the front
But I was off by 2mm on this demo run so not bad

For the price it’s powerful and for the frequency of myself using it..it justified the money

    Only gripe
    Instructions
2 pages but nothing about setting the blade up and correct safety checks
    Ended up going on ytube…

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersSo far, it is working great. It has a superb build quality and it is very easy to use. We have used on cutting plasterboard and it is doing this effortlessly. The scale ruler attachment really helps to ensure that cuts are parrael. Angles are easy to adjust as well and the cutting angle can be wroted to 45 degress. I also like very much that there is an adapter for attaching a vacuum to it to ensure that a lot of dust particles are vacuumed away whilst cutting.

It comes with a good capacity battery as well as a charger which charges the battery quickly. Two wood blades are also included. Very happy with this kit for the low price.

    Very good

Good value for money & easy to use even though a little heavier than my last saw. The only disappointment is that it did not come with any spanner to tighten the blade so had to use an Allen key instead. Possibly over sight with the packaging although have not contacted or returned the product as need urgently for a project.

The wood saw blade was very useful had to cut into existing hard floor without damaging the original floor boards setting the depth of cut was simplicity itself and resulted in a perfect cut without damage to the underfloor or beams. Had concerns that the supplied baldes would not be very durable so ordered replacement blades just in case, but the original supplied with the tool were excellent and completed all the jobs no problem. Added bonus is the dust tube that fits any vacume cleaner cutting tiles or wood was totally dust free. Nice carry bag to keep everything in.

Would certainly recommend to anyone who needs a small verastitle cutter.

I’ve never liked the big circular saws, I find them a bit menacing and it feels like one false move and they’ll remove a limb. This feels more forgiving, you can chuck it about and easily handle the kickback with a single hand, I use it for most cutting jobs now and it’s great for drop cutting into floors. It’s not quite deep enough to do a door so it has it’s limits and with a much smaller blade it does blunt a lot quicker than a big saw but I think to be expected.

The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because you need to keep the retractable plate well lubricated, after a fair bit of use the dust will jam up the mechanism and the plate won’t retract after a cut and it’ll leave the blade exposed, this feels very dangerous and I stop using it until I can free up the plate again.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersVery pleased that it performs as it should and appears to be well made. I was disappointed that the only instructions appeared to be directed towards personal safety. There was no exploded diagram to show how it fits together or parts list in case it got damaged. It is necessary to remove the blade if you want to put it back in the box it arrived in. Consequently, on the second time of refitting the blade I got the Flange Nut on the wrong way around and upon starting the blade was not gripped properly. Although I switched it off immediately and investigated I found that the flange nut had been badly abraded. My attempts to contact the seller met with abject failure, even when I did so through Amazon. Enquiries revealed no U.K. Service Depot approved by the manufacturer. Had I known this before purchase, I would have bought elsewhere – probably not from China.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’ve taken on board that I’m getting old ………! Years of strain on my right shoulder and elbow sawing wood and doing general every day jobs. I love working with wood so now I’ve stepped down to allowing electric tools to take the strain rather than me. This circular saw straight out of the box was easy to set up with two blades to choose from made my life so much better. I can tackle cutting jobs so much easier no doubt I’ll be getting a few more labour saving devices to let me carry on with working with timber. Can’t recommend this saw enough and it does exactly the same job as some expensive branded tools FIVE STARS

Pretty good and powerful saw, clockwise cutter, blades included could be better. Not bad to use mitre and depth, though don’t trust the gauges to much. Guide is good on thicker material, 18mm plus, not so much with thinner stock.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is excellent value for money. Rapid clean cuts though you do have to concentrate to make sure your cut starts in the right place. But it has done a great job cutting planks. My only concern was with the instructions which assumed that I knew how to lock the blade and the order and alignment of washers. I had to recourse to YouTube so I am now an expert! but the procedures are straight forward. I would buy it again if I needed one.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI bought this circular saw to make some planters from scaffolding boards. I have other Hychika tools and they have been reliable and easy to use so after checking prices I decided to go for a brand I know is durable and affordable.
It was easy to set up, it comes with the Allen key and the only thing I needed to do was to put the blade in place, on that note the first time I put the washer on the wrong side and quickly realised. After correcting my mistake I didn’t have any other problems. It’s very easy to use, even for a beginner. I recently broke up with my partner who used to do most of the woodwork so I don’t have much experience. But this saw it’s easy to use and you don’t need to apply too much force.
I’m very happy with the results, my planters look great and I’m looking forward to fresh vegetables this summer.

Easy to use even for beginners

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI needed a circular saw and thought why pay more, I’ll probably only use it for this job. It’s a powerful motor, get’s the job done. It comes from China so takes a while. The spanner that was needed to install the blade was not in the box. That was disappointing but managed to borrow one and got the blade on and it’s great. Emailed to say the spanner was missing, they offered me 5 instead. I thought that was a bit cheeky but when I refused they said they would post it, proper order. It wasn’t my fault the spanner was missing! However I still rate this saw, and as long as the spanner arrives soon, I’m very happy with everything.

Golden Review Award: 89 From Our UsersOk so I bought this saw because I am laying some laminate floor in 3 rooms and also tiling 2 bathrooms and my kitchen.
I wanted this type of saw because I know how well they cut laminate floor and tile having used a similar product a few year ago.
So I have used this for cutting the tile in my kitchen and the laminate floor in my kitchen.
It performed amazingly well to cut both the tile and the laminate floor. The laser guide and straight edge guide are perfect.
Replacing the saw blades is a doddle, you press the lock button and use the Allen key to loosen the bolt then the blade can be pulled out of the bottom, put the new blade in and hey presto you have a new blade in place in about 60 seconds.
I also purchased another set of blades but so far I have not had to use them as the blades are very sharp and hard wearing.
The saw itself is very powerful and not overly loud and the added hose attachment for a vacuum is brilliant and gets rid of a lot of the mess.
I absolutely love this saw and can not wait to get using it again for the next to rooms I have to lay laminate flooring.
All in all this has been a very good experience for me. Fast delivery, great product, great build quality and works exactly as it should. 5 stars from me.

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersI bought this saw to cut out laminate flooring ready for a new stone hearth to be fitted.

Once I played with it for a while to practice (essential) it worked a treat. being able to adjust the cutting depth and ensure I wasn’t cutting in to concrete and blunting the blade was great. The blade did smoke a bit but I think that may have been due to the glue in the laminate burning?

If you push too hard the motor will struggle as its not a heavy weight rip saw so take your time. Great thing is you can stop and start easily. Just reset the blade back in to the cut and fire up again.

To get someone to cut out the flooring would have cost four times the cost of the saw so I think it just makes sense. I have some more flooring to lay in the future and it will be really helpful with this too.

The dust pipe was a bit useless to be fair as the vacuum as the effort on the motor sucking from a tiny tube made the motor cut out so I found it easier to cut; stop; vacuum; cut ;stop; vacuum etc etc…dust!

Did lots of research before I bought a plunge saw and I think it paid off. Great bit of kit. Thoroughly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersAll in all a good little saw, a bit under powered struggles a bit with 20mm chipboard but I would think its great on thinner stock. I cut once at about 12mm and then to full depth, ok if you are using a fence or guide. I found the trigger rarther uncomfortable and it’s easy to let it slip to the off position. One of the other reviews mentioned the kink in the dust extraction pipe, I have managed to largely straighten this out but it’s too long for the bag and really needs to be more flexible or have a prrotective sleeve to stop it kinking.

Golden Review Award: 119 From Our UsersI don’t normally write reviews, but I make exceptions when something is either very good or very bad. In this case, the saw is brilliant! I was sceptical because of the price, but I thought if it lasts for one project then it’s paid for itself. I’ve now done two projects and it’s still going strong and on the original blade! I have a bigger circular saw but I chose to grab the hychika every time now because it’s lighter and quieter and easy to be more accurate. Good range of accessories, the only negative I would say is that the laser has to be turned off manually and I keep forgetting because my other saws have it as built in to run off the mains. This means the battery in this one runs out because I haven’t flicked the switch off. Good adjustable depth for cutting and good at plunge cuts. Very happy with the saw, hopefully getting replacement blades will be straight forward. I would definitely recommend.
