Extremely sharp garden shears
Speedy delivery via Prime, extremely sharp garden shears that does a fantastic job. Light and comfortable to use. Competitively priced and I would certainly recommend them to friends and family.
Ordered a second pair for my shrubs and hedges so that I can have a spare for when I have a helper. Best shears I have ever owned. Sharp and sturdy, not too heavy and a good grip. They do a great job, even on hawthorn. Can highly recommend.
My garden has a lot of formal hedging and formally shaped, trimmed yew shrubs. For skilled users, these shears are well designed, durable and pleasant to handle. For them to work properly and to stay in good condition, they should be cleaned after EVERY use, oiled regularly and always stored dry.
Hand operated garden hedge shears
Bought these in June’23 & have found them to remain sharp & continue to cut the most tough hedges, I will certainly buy the same again, they are excellent value for money, the best shears I could buy.

I needed a new pair of shears, Amazon’s suggestion for a classic pair……and they were right, they are classic and very good indeed.

For years I have been using secateurs for pruning flowering shrubs after the flowers have died which can be rather tedious. I have had shears before but they have all rusted up (despite washing and oiling after every use) and were heavy to use and it has taken me a long time to decide to try a new pair.
For me, a lady in her 60s, these are perfect. Lightweight, nicely balanced and easy to use with soft handles. The shrubs I have that now need pruning with shears are spireas which have quite thin stems, and an awful lot of them. I have also used them on my ceanothus which has more tree-like branches and twigs and they have also worked easily on that.
My choicyas also will need pruning though I may still use secateurs for those for a more accurate cut for each stem.
The blades have a plastic protective cover and the tips have an extra hard plastic cover.
I can’t fault them so far.
Nice, very sharp shears
Good quality items, very sharp. Easy to extend and not too heavy. The only improvement I would like would be if the cutting edge was a couple of cm longer. I have very extensive hedges and it would be quicker if they were longer cuts.

I am very satisfied with the product. I managed to clean up an entire smaller size backyard and it still cuts like out of the box. It cuts through 1/2″ diameter branches easily, just make sure you cut in angle.
I used these garden shears to cuts hedge which is about 14 – 15 metres across 6 bays. The hedge was well overgrown, nearly upto the coping stone., Unforunatly it has started growing back after I cut it 4 weeks ago.
There is I still plenty of life left in them. Good value for money.

Most of the time grass is damp early morning, and it tends to tear rather than cut !!

It works fine
Not sure if the mechanical advantage is really necessary while they are new and sharp but I guess as they age it might come in useful. Otherwise they seem to be of good quality and have lasted well over the last couple of months.

They are easy to use, feel a good weight in your hands when extended. I have a small pair of shears but needed a longer pair to trim plants climbing up the fence and these do the job.

Very pleased with these. They are very lightweight and very sharp and I find easy to trim the hedge even with my arthritic wrists. My only complaint is that the bolt holding the blades together has a tendancy to loosen. It is easy to tighten it again but this shouldn’t really occur.

We got these in order to trim back the leaves on some Flax plants. They’ve proved difficult to cut with other shears or scissors or a knife. These shears made very quick work in cutting through them so job well done.

These shears are very easy to use with comfortable handles and good grip. The blades are very sharp allowing me to cut through some chunky branches of a privet hedge. Being lightweight, they were easy to manoeuvre and I had no aches or pains the following day. Thoroughly recommend.
Hold up and do the job well
Not sure if the gear mechanism actually makes a difference, as they feel no different to my old ones.
Edge held up well in dealing with an extremely overgrown garden, even after tackling a lot of branches that really should have been dealt with via a lopper.
only gripe is that the curve towards the rear of the blade is quite shallow, so a lot of more resiliant branches simply slid out on the first attempt unless it was pressed against the pivo

The gearing mechanism doesn’t magically take all the sting out of gardening, but… As an arthritis sufferer i still feel a jolt with larger cuts, but these are very lightweight and more gentle on ur hands, wrists, arms (and whole body in my case) than normal shears. Surprisingly rugged and sturdy considering the weight I’d recommend these to everybody.

A nicely designed and made set of shears. Slices through normal hedge material with ease and will cut up to about 1cm of green wood if you place it close to the hinge point. Easy to control although I haven’t tried any fancy topiary! Recommended

Very Sharp & Sturdy
Bought these to help with taking some height off of a beech hedge and they have worked a treat. My electric hedge trimmer wasn’t much good so resorted to secateurs and these and managed to get the job done. Would recommend because I can’t see them not doing a great job on most things you would find in a garden.
Great in general but…
I’m not convinced of the merits of a geared system with garden shears. While the gearing may result in users being able to cut thicker material in some cases, the excessive opening and closing requirement of the handles can be a bit of a nuisance as it sometimes seems to create extra unnecessary work for the arms. The extending handles are excellent as they allow for a far better reach, though the reach is, again, hampered somewhat by the extra opening requirement of the handles. Overall, these shears are a very useful tool.
In addition to these I have several other Davaon tools and they are all both useful and of high quality.
Good value shears
I bought a pair of these shears to use down on my allotment as I didn’t want to spend a lot on shears for occasional use. They are nice and sharp and light weight. I liked them so much I bought a second pair to use in my garden to replace my existing pair.

These are incredibly sharp and light- a revelation after using a pair of ancient shears for years. I’ve had carpal tunnel operations and still find it hard to grip things- these shears are light enough for me to use for so much longer than the old ones- I recommend them!
Best Shears I’ve Ever Purchased.
I bought this shears about a month ago and have only just used them. Absolutely top notch. Really sharp and lightweight and pruned bushes and tough wild grass for me with ease. The gear mechanism seems to make the difference, it feels like it makes each cut smoother with accurate. The sharpness will go but they’re easily resharpened and should last years. A bit pricey but absolutely worth it. I highly recommend them.

Two big issues with other pairs for me – 1) blades eventually overlap – unlikely here as stout metal post to stop this and 2) a gap develops between the blades – again unlikely due to a ratchet mechanism that appears to force blades together without making them stiff

Lightweight and easy to use
I bought these shears essentially to tidy up all my hedging and I am delighted. They are sharp and lightweight to use which as an older woman is just what I was looking for. They have made tidying up and shaping my hedging a delight instead of a chore.

Immediately out of the box they are soooo wonderfully sharp, as others have mentioned. Even if not very light, they are still easy to use. I gave only 4* as I will wait til after a some months/time usage to see how and if the sharpness stays. Re: plastic straps – I don’t know what the problem was reading some of these comments. I found just slipping a sharp knife under the plastic ties did the job. It’s the performance of the shears themselves that was important to me.

Tackles all types of grass and shrubs
Lightweight and easy to use. As I have arthritis in the fingers any strain put on the joints can be a nightmare. These shears have a mechanism that takes the strain away from the hands and the blades cut through most things effortlessly. Only time will tell if the blades hold their edge but having just completed 2 hours of clipping around the garden I feel this item has already paid for itself. Thoroughly recommend and would buy again.
Excellent shears lightweight and adaptable
These shears are very easy to use and yes the blades are so sharp that i had no trouble at all cutting grasses down in what was a lawn that had not been cut until now and needed a severe haircut.

Good honest sharp shears that are a pleasure to use
W have an acre of previously neglected garden and I really need good shears. So many shears have telescopic handles. 3 pairs in (fairly rapid) succession (NOT from this maker!) have rapidly developed handles where the ‘telescopic’ bit slides in and out at will. Useless.
I decided that a good, well-made pair of sharp lightweight and efficient no-nonsense shears were the priority – and with good sturdy comfortable handles.
I’m so delighted with this pair that I hide them from the rest of the family. They’re mine. Need I say more?

Razor sharp with safety features
Although not telescopic (ie the handles on this model do not extend), these shears are razor sharp and dead easy to use. They come with a rubber cup over the tips of the blades so no chance of hurting yourself once you’ve finished and put them away in the plastic jacket that also comes with them.
Fantastic shears
My old garden shears were at least 35 years old and really hard work despite oiling and sharpening, so I decided to treat myself to new ones. What a revelation! The ergonomic handle design makes using them easy and the action is very smooth. The blades are extremely sharp and work very well. I trimmed both sides and top of a long burburis boundary hedge in no time this morning. Delighted with these and excellent value.

These shears are very light which is what I wanted. I have had a pair of wooden handled shears for years (second hand) which have served me well but was beginning to find them very heavy. I am so pleased with my new shears and would strongly recommend them.

As an older woman, I need some shears that are lightweight, sharp and well balanced. I seem to have found all that in these! I used them to cut back ivy that grows over my fence from a neighbour’s garden and they did the job perfectly. My only concern is keeping them sharp – I shall have to seek advice on that!

Good in terms of being lightweight and sharp for my hedge but the blades were disappointingly short – my others are much longer so less work for me.
Shears excellent, packaging no
The shears themselves do the job very well, they are sharp and the combination of wavy blade and ratchet works well for thicker stuff.
Taking a star away for the awful zip tie packaging, unnecessarily tight and has meant the tool is scratched just form unpacking before I even started!

A (very amateur) gardener's deligh
Used these for the first time to do my initial rose pruning – following the advice given in Gardeners’ World, used the shears to take the rose bushes down to a uniform height and restore shape, before doing a more “detailed” prune after the winter. They were a delight to use and I was able to complete the task in such a short time. As they also worked so well, must have been much gentler on the branches, so hoping the roses will be much less traumatised! Excellent service and excellent product from Davaon – chose them because of all the good reviews, and was not disappointed.
Light and easy to use.
The last pair of shears I used were possibly 40 yrs old. As my husband is disabled I now have to do as much as I can to keep the garden under control. These shears are a dream compared to the heavy blunt ones I have used. They are light, easy to manoeuvre and with the ratchet can cut through anything! A marvellous buy!
Good and sharp
The 2nd pair of these I’ve had, one for me and one for my husband who kept taking them. They are a bit on the heavy side for elderly gardeners but very sharp which cuts down on the effort. A good product and quick delivery.
Good quality sharp blades, however, they are heavier than I imagined they’d be, which is a disappointment. The shears cut well. I remember to wipe them before putting them back in their plastic storage bag. I like the non-slip handles too. Overall good quality and made in this country and that is such a bonus for me.
Lightweight AND sharp!
Very easy to use as so lightweight. I cut back my large hedge very easily with them. Good clean cut. Just one point – they come with a label attached with thick plastic ties. You have to cut them off. Make sure you cut with the label between the shears and the scissors, as I cut foolishly to the side of the label and scratched the silver finish on the shears immediately and was somewhat disappointed to have marked them before even using them. I cannot think why it needs such a label and why it has to be attached so firmly.
Slice through the grass
I had to replace my grass shears and sceptical about doing so. After some research I ordered these and received today. The comment about getting the cable ties of is avoidable easily by grabbing the joints of the four cable ties with pliers and twist once….no marks and comes off easily. The shears are lovely light ones and simply slice through the grass effortlessly! Great length of handles and delightful to use. Recommended.
Lightweight & cuts like a charm, + fab value for money!
These shears work a charm. I was concerned about the size from the picture, but they are just the right size! Lightweight and a good quality product. If you need to taupeur your hedges or need to cut back bushes in your garden these do the job nicely!
Bought them as a replacement for older rusty sheers, and I do think these will last a good few years! Already done a lot of heavy usage with them and no problems so far.

I ordered these shears to tackle an overgrown hedge. They arrived the next day and were immediately put to work. They are the best shears I have ever used, being very sharp and very easy to use. I have pruned holly, laurel, hawthorn, weigela, philadelphus, buxus…
The only problem was that my husband borrowed them as his mechanical shears wouldn’t work so he purloined these, resulting in my having to buy another pair of these shears for myself. He was amazed at just how good they are and has been happily chopping away in our garden.

As garden is by a river longer handles are a must ,the soft grip is good and the end locks the handle,I had plenty of warning about Sharp blades ,doing a great job, also about age taking parcel–definitely old enough.For the price these are great, nice and lite, great balance,after using it for a while, would recommend.
my only moan which is nothing to do with seller ,but packaging ,the box from amazon was to small ,and the shears poked out of the box at the end,fortunately the sharp ends had a small plastic cover, so not damaged ,not good for sharp tools.
These are okay inasmuch as the blades are sharp and the handles can be extended. Unfortunately, the blades are quite short. Because the blades are short and the handles plus extension are long (and somewhat heavy) it makes the device unwieldy to use. You become tired with aching shoulders quite quickly using this.
STOP! Your search ends here. Never in a million years did I anticipate proclaiming that a pair of gardening shears were life changing UNTIL NOW. I have just done a weeks gardening in an afternoon. Great pair of shears from a great vendo
The seller of this product really cares that it is perfect for you. I had contact prior to delivery to ensure I knew about the product and how to get the best out of it. They have now arrived and I’m very pleased. They work like a hot knife through butter. The seller has also contacted me to make sure they arrived in perfect order. I would highly recommend not only the shears but via this seller. Both have surpassed my expectations.
Very lightweight and sharp with comfortable handles. I managed to cut through quite thick wood with little effort, though I was wary not to use on thicker branches in case the shears got damaged. Ive only used this on one day for about 4 hrs of pruning tree branches. The open close action was very smooth with no jarring or stiffness unlike another pair of shears I have from a more reputable company. Forgot the handles were extendable so haven’t tested that feature yet. Also the slight curved blade seems to make it more effective at cutting quite thick branches but not sure if that’s the reason why. Have not tested long term but they do look quite sturdy. Good value for money.
I bought these to trim a 7 ft (H) x 38 ft (L) garden hedge and they’re brilliant. Very well made, light weight and have a very good cutting edge. Handle soft so no blisters or sore hands. (I’m aged 60, female) I’ve since cut lawn edging with these and I’m sure they’ll last for years. Highly recommend. Cost a bit dearer than other hedge shears but you get what you pay for – quality. Delivered next day which was added bonus as I didn’t pay extra for this.
Update: I’ve had these shears about 18 months and they’re still brilliant, just remember to clean them after use and add wee bit of oil in the winter and they’ll be great for the following year.
did exactly what I wanted of them
My next door neighbour of twelve years has just moved house. Unfortunately, he cut the hedge regularly for me. I’ve had to find a nice lightweight efficient pair of shears so I can do the job myself. These are just the job. Not as light as I would have liked, but still, I’ve managed to trim my hedge for over an hour without feeling fatigued, and they’ve done a great job, cutting the privet smoothly and evenly. I would recommend this product.
Our garden is one that requires a lot of work to keep under control and certainly not one that could be described as “light” gardening. When we did pay gardeners to come and look after it, they always loved working on it because of the variety of work required, as well as the scale (it’s not big, but there’s a lot in it). These days, after going to the local agricultural college to study land operations, landscaping etc., and picking up assorted qualifications, including various City & Guilds certificates in use of power tools, I now do all of our gardening myself. Where realistic, I stick to manual tools rather than power tools, so having a good pair of hedge shears is really important. My previous pair (from another company) had reached the end of their life (I’d sharpened them many, many times, but eventually their time is up), so after checking the reviews I ordered these Davaon Pro Garden Hedge Shears.
The wavy blade seems to work well — nothing getting chopped seemed to bunch up and slide along the blade. Instead, everything was gripped and cut easily. The handle grips are comfortable enough, although I always use anti-vibration gloves when using shears for prolonged periods.
I do find the handles to be too short though. They would be much easier to use for serious work if the handles were just a bit longer, or ideally extendable. I haven’t sharpened the blade yet — it’ll be interesting to see whether the wavy shape hinders sharpening.
Whilst I do recommend these, they would be even better if the handles were longer or extendable.
A delight to use
I bought these two or three weeks ago, I have used (or abused!) them on one particularly tough job and also used them for more routine hedge trimming. They are wonderful! They cut through anything reasonable with ease, they are an absolute joy to use. The handles are a solid rubber (over the metal frame), they are not the rubberised sponge sort of handle that falls apart after a while. The long blades enable quick clearance however they are narrow enough to enable the removal of individual twigs with precision. I was nervous about buying from a manufacturer I did not recognise but I’m glad I took the chance. Highly recommended.
These are amazing! Having recently moved, we faced a hugely overgrown large garden. It was too dense to strim or mow so I got some of these. 2 days and some very sore muscles later our garden is cleared and ready for being an actual garden! These easily cut through bramble branches as thick as my wrist and were long enough so I didn’t get stung but short enough not too feel too hard to use. Get these, you won’t regret it. I’m still astonished at how well these worked and how fast I basically hacked through an entire garden!
Firstly, this review is based on my experience of being a professional gardener of some 44 years. I’ve used these for a couple of months now on garden operations unsuitable for battery or petrol hedgecutters, so no hedge cutting. Use being mainly topiary, shrub trimming and cutting herbaceous down. The shears seem to be of good quality and are effortless to use being light and having a very efficient cutting mechanism. Unfortunately, though the cutting mechanism is their strongest point it is also the weakest because the Allen key bolts on all the pivot points continually loosen and require frequent tightening which is a real nuisance. It’s possible that I’ve received a faulty product of it could be a design fault. The handles could also be slightly longer for easier use, extendable handles would be even better.If the cutting mechanism problem could be sorted they would be a very good shear because they cut well and are easy to use. The problemishes with the loosening bolts has now been sorted. The company contacted me and dealt with the problem very efficiently – it’s nice to deal with a company that cares about its customers. The shears now get a 5 star review and so does the company !
