Love this little beauty, easy to hang up in the shed as the weight is OK.
On the first charge it lasted for four cuts of my lawn.
    I’m really impressed!!

I’ve been looking for a rechargeable lawnmower for a while, but there are lots of reviews on many that put me off, mainly short battery life & lack of power. Well I can tell you this machine does not fall short on any of those issues. This lawnmower is powered by 2x 18v 4ah batteries giving it plenty of power & long running time. The machine is light & easy to manoeuvre. I’ve noticed a few reviews mentioning that it doesn’t cut low enough. That is nonsense. It’s not good practice to scalp your lawn anyway. The cutting left a great finish and due to machine being light weight, it does not leave indent tracks where the wheels have been. I would definitely recommend this lawnmower.

I bought this to replace my heavy and difficult to manoeuvre petrol mower.

I have only used it once so far on my fairly short summer grass. It cut my fairly large lawn (3-4 tennis court size) to a similar standard as my petrol mower on 1 charge, but in 20% less time (even with a smaller blade).

I have purchased 1 additional battery which I think I will need when the grass is a bit longer.

    Positives:-

Lightweight and manoeuvrable compared to a petrol mower.

Less time to cut my lawn.

    Negatives:-

Build quality not the same as a petrol mower.

As others have said it was a pain to assemble the handle – whoever wrote the instructions obviously never tried to do it! Definitely a 2 person job.

The grass box is a bit small and needs emptying regularly.

It last up to a hour depending on the length and size of your lawn. Cuts evenly and I would recommend this item

The handle is a bit tricky to assemble but that is my only moan…Light and efficient with a huge 8 amp/hr twin battery pack. I found the one-handed carrying handle across the top of the mower a nice touch.

We decided to buy a cordless mower after my husband accidentally cut the cable on our previous one. We needed a little help to put it together and he has used the new one once. His comment was that it was very easy to use and as we don’t have a lot of grass, he was able to cut both lawns on the one battery charge. So far, we are very pleased with it.

I’ve been using my lawnmower for over a month now.
I love that it’s so lightweight.
It’s so easy to move it around and it cuts really well.
    Grass collection is great too

I looked at numerous cordless mowers online and decided on this one. As it met my requirements on spec and price. It arrived within a few days of order. My initial thoughts after unpacking it and putting it together was how impressive it looked. Everything is easy to use including the height control lever and the power lever, which runs across the full width of the handle. After using it for the first time I can honestly say it is the best mower I have ever owned. Can not find a fault with it.

Bought this for our medium sized lawn as I struggled to start our petrol mower. Lightweight, easy to manoeuvre and guide around the lawn . Handle wasn’t easy to put together but managed it in the end . Battery life fairly good . Manage 4-5 cuts before having to charge on 1-2 cuts per week . All in all good mower for the price . Would certainly buy cordless agai

At 50 off seems to be fair value for money. Takes 2 batteries at once, both supplied. Did my small font and back garden on one charge with some charge left. Easy to change blade hight. Only used once so far but pleased.

I also have the strimmer in the same brand. The mower could be a bit lighter and the lack of cable is most excellent on my tiered garden. Using the batteries from the mower on full charge I can strim and then mow

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI like the idea of cordless lawn mowers as it’s quite and can use it even on early mornings or late evenings after work. As it’s quite doesn’t disturb the neighbours. My 4stroke petrol powered lawn mower quite big and powerful but can be hear from miles.
Came in well compact packed box which need assembly. Assembly takes 2-3 minutes as quite simple, no need for extra tools.
Uses 2 batteries which included in the box together with a charger , so no need to pay extra for batteries.
Blade size 34cm long which ideal for normal gardens.
On left side it has 6 level elevation trigger which elevates front and back wheels spontaneously, no need to do individually each wheel.
It has also triple security to activate the lawn mover so kids can’t activate it by accident.
Overall great quite and powerful lawn mower which comes with 2 batteries and battery charger.
Have a look to my pictures to see real size, hope this will be helpful to decide if it’s suitable for personal needs or not.

    Easy to manoeuvre

This mower is excellent for my medium sized grass area. It cuts well, right up to the edge of my box hedges and Koi pond. Grass collection is very good with little if no escaping bits, cutting down having to clear debris off surrounding paths, water, beds. THE GREAT ADVANTAGE is that you have NO CABLES or difficult to start petrol engines. Roll it out, with charged batteries, and away you go, with no cables to cut through. Due to the safety key it will be difficult for children or you to start accidentally .Folds down to go into an area of its base and battery life has not been exceeded by me so far.
I have reduced my rating by a star and it was nearly two because of the folding handle assemble. It is very fiddly to put together because of the clip mechanism at the joints. The separate parts have a tendency to spring apart whilst you are attempting to locate the screws through the handles into the retaining nut, which has a life of its own. A joint clip has also sprung apart whilst opening and folding the handles, because the screw has turned whilst opening and closing. This means that you have to go though part of the assemble again. “Irritating”. However I am dumping my old cable mower because of the convenience and cutting/collection of this machine.

It took me a while to gain enough experience with this unit and to compare it to others that I have had. In my opinion, ALL rechargeable mowers suffer from relatively low power when compared to either petrol or plug in varieties. – This unit is no exception other than sitting at the better end of rechargeables. You have to have a high setting for a first cut if the lawn is long or wet – this is not unusual. Cutting is optimal when done regularly and then it is an excellent example of a mower. Bin hold a large amount of cuttings and tell you when it is full. The re-charging unit works very well and is easy to use. Single lever height adjustment can be slightly difficult to use when lifting height up but you soon get the nack. All in all one of the best you can get.

To avoid ‘starting’ difficulties with petrol machines I have always preferred to have an electric lawn mower, but I have the problems of reach to electric supply and trailing cables. I have a fair sized lawn next to my garage and socket outlet at the front, and with my present larger machine all is straightforward, yet my small lawn at the rear needs two cables joined together and it is awkward to get to — meaning there is a lot of preparation compared to short time actually mowing. Using this battery powered ‘Wesco’ cordless lawn mower to supplement my other larger machine seemed to offer a solution.

Compared to my previous machine the Wesco lawn mower is lightweight, which is an advantage but perhaps this is gained at the expense of being robust — the Wesco product does seem a bit flimsy and plasticky. However it gives a satisfactory 34cm cutting width and a sufficient 30 litre grass box, and its pair of 36V lithium-ion batteries are powerful enough. Initially charging took only 2 hours (supplied part charged?) and up to now no recharging has yet been needed (but only 2 hours usage). LED charging indicator lights are most effective.

However, before getting to the stage of using the lawn mower I had a nightmare assembling it! The accompanying leaflets mat have accurate illustrations but they are too small to see component parts and they lack detailed text. Aligning the bolts is difficult and the threaded section is so short there seems a likelihood that plastic clipping arrangements may spring open. The handle is quite comfortable to use but it is not ‘telescopic’ as described and has only 2 positions. The deadman switch is a bit vulnerable and there is a risk of losing it even though tied on. Fitting of the grass box is awkward and relies on small hooks that are a weakness. The fill indicator is a bit gimmicky. Adjusting the grass cutting height is positive with 6 lengths, but it is best done with the machine on its side to avoid jamming.

This review may sound somewhat niggly but I still award a 4-star rating. The Wesco cordless lawn mower is very convenient for my requirements and it is reasonably priced. I look forward to using it for a good few years.

We have been using this lawn mower for just over two weeks now and it has undertaken three cuts of one of our lawns. At 34cm (14 inches) is is a little bit narrow for our main lawn, but ideal for something smaller, say 100 sqm lawns; I would not wish to use it on anything larger as it would take too long.

I found assembling this mower a little bit of a challenge as the instructions were not that good, that said, I assembled it in 15 minutes and it was good to go. I charged the batteries in 93 minutes, which I felt was good, although they take a little longer from full flat: up to 4 hours, so be prepared. As what seems common practice now on garden/power tool rechagables, they all have a convenient display to show how much power is available, this function is accessed by a button on the rear of battery and the power level is displayed via three green LED.

I fitted the grass collection box, which is a bit of a quirky fit, but once familiar with the process, it isn’t that difficult – it is just different. Our lawns are a bit bumpy, older house, mature lawns and so I was pleased that it has a single lever system to vary the height of cut and also as our first cut with this mower was only the second cut of the year, I like to cut the grass quite high. It did a good job on a lawn of around 80sqm in 20 minutes, with sufficient power for a further cut a week later: there was still 1 LED left on the batteries, but we opted to charge it anyway.

So what is good about it and what is not so good?

    Good
    ====

    Powerful motor
Reasonably long battery life in between charges
    Adjustable cutting height
Very light, particularly with the batteries removed
Can be collapsed for compact storage
    Easy to use
Cuts almost to the edge of the lawn
Relatively quiet, especially compared to my petrol mower.

    Not so good
    ==========

A bit challenging to assemble, particularly using the poor instructions
The grass box is a bit fiddly to fit until you get used to it
You might have to purchase other items in the range to get interoperability with the batteries – it is a pain if they run out half way through a job and therefore it makes sense to have uniformity across the range. We already use one of their leaf blowers, so have this facility.

So four star review for now. It is a five star item, but at a 4 star price. Build quality is ok, but at the price of 259.99 as at 4th May 2021, to get the fifth star I would like to see it closer to the 200.00 mark. Not a bad buy though.
The Wesco WS8701 is a cordless rechargeable electric lawnmower. I have had petrol mowers in the past, and an electric one on a cord, but this product combine all the advantages of both: it’s very light and nimble, but is still quite solid in terms of performance. It took around three hours to charge — from a standing start. It takes two rechargeable lithium batteries which slot-in very easily. The grass collection bag also slots-in without too much trouble. Some assembly is required though – and the user guide’s diagrams are small and unnecessarily complicated, but it didn’t take long to figure it out.

We had several weeks of rain uninterrupted, and so the grass was quite high. The mower has six grass-length settings, and was fine on the second to lowest level. Our lawn is substantial and uneven in places, but the mower was absolutely fine, and made quite short work of quite high grass. We didn’t quite get the whole lawn done on one charge, and had to pause for another couple of hours, but, the grass was pretty high in places and still a little wet. So, the mower was probably working a little harder that it would under standard conditions.

    UPDATE
    ======

After quite a bit of use, a summary of this item:

We have had several weeks of rain uninterrupted, and so subsequent cuts have been on grass which was quite high, the mower has coped admirably though as ithas six grass-length settings, and was fine on the second to lowest level. On that basis, the mower was probably working a little harder that it would under standard dry conditions.

The bag is really easy to empty and the mower folds up quite small afterwards. So, storage is no issue at all. Overall, I would highly recommend this all-rounder. Really pleased with its performance. So, storage is no issue at all.

I really wish there was a universal charger for battery powered tools as I have dozens. This mower is much heavier than my mains powered equivalent which is almost identical in size. And that’s with the batteries removed. I guess DC motors weigh more. You only notice the weight when lifting the mower, not when pushing it.

My lawn is 15m by 12m and I only used half a charge cutting it. There was plenty charge left for the front lawn too. The handle is very comfortable and easy to use. I like the fact that you need to insert a key to have it start as you don’t have the same ‘unplugged is safe’ state with a battery powered mower.

I really like the fabric cuttings holder as that makes it easier to empty, plus needs less space to store.

We had some nice weather, so I got to give my new mower a good run and man, I love how much more convenient it is to have a cordless model! In the box you get the mower, two batteries (both are necessary as the mower requires both at the same time) and a charging station. When I first got it, the batteries needed a full charge, which took just under four hours. I was a little concerned about the battery life honestly, I have two quite large lawns and having no experience with cordless mowers before this, was really crossing my fingers it would be able to handle them both. I needn’t have been concerned, however, as the mower did them both easily with charge to spare.

The mower itself is comfortable to use and packs away nice and compact when you’re not using it. weight-wise, it isn’t especially heavy, pushing it around doesn’t feel heavy at all and is all very smooth. The immediate pro’s I noticed over my old mower was that it could cut right up the very edge and that it didn’t throw cut grass about nearly as much, the cordless aspect was really freeing and made it feel like less of a chore. The only downside I really noticed was that it did leave tyre tracks in the grass, but that is only really a temporary problem and even then, only if you cut the grass after a rainfall, which I did. Overall though there’s very little else to complain about, packing it away was a bit of a faff with the handle at first until I worked out how it works, but after that it becomes very easy to use. I try to be critical in my reviews, but I rated this five stars because it really did everything I wanted it to do and did it very well. The cordless aspect is a revelation after using an old corded mower for years and just makes the whole thing feel more relaxing and free, which might sound like a load of nonsense, but when you use a cordless device, it just feels easier all round and so much more natural without a tether. Anyway, fully recommended, this is a great mower, easily able to take on large sized lawns under a single charge and easy to use!

Good battery life, massively convenient and works perfectly!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy god, I had a struggle putting the handle on this cordless lawnmower. It is ridiculously fiddly but I managed it in the end although I think it took me almost half an hour, a fair amount of sweat and a lot of bad language. Two of us could have done it in half the time but you shouldn’t need two people to put a handle on anything. Thankfully, everything else is already assembled so once I’d managed to fit the handle I just had to charge up the batteries, which took about 3 hours.
In use, this is lightweight and easily manoeuvrable and most of the time there’s plenty of power, which means that even on it’s lowest setting, there are 6, it gives an excellent cut. However, I have recently tested a similar model at a similar price by a different manufacturer and this comes up a little short on practicality for me. I found that when I was cutting the long grass around the base of a bird feeder that this mower just cut out when the other one had no problem, so perhaps not as powerful as it first seems. Also, this mower is a bit noisier and there is perceptible vibration, although the handle/trigger is excellent and damps most of it down. Despite being very light, it is quite awkward to carry because the carry handle is at right angles to you rather than in line, like a briefcase or a suitcase, and the batteries require you to bend right over to slot them in, not so easy as you get older, plus the collection bag is also a harder to re-attach after emptying. These are all minor niggles, I suppose, but as I get older and less agile it’s the sort of thing that starts to matter.
So, overall, it may not be top of its class but it’s still a very good cordless mower that feels well made and durable and with around half an hour battery life it should easily cope with most small to medium sized lawns.
