Was very happy with my camera so it was frustrating that the magnetised base broke away which means that you cannot mount the camera vertically. However, it took a while but company have sent me a replacement, so looking forward to getting my new camera up and running again!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs said in the headline the charged battery lasts weeks and weeks which I didn’t expect. Do like the small size and strong magnetic base which means you can put them almost anywhere. I have connected them to a sim based router wifi which is powered by a UPS power pack so not even dependent on cable based wifi or mains electricity. Delivery next day, price good – can’t fault anything.

Unbelievable battery life and so easy to positio

motion is very sensitive, but you can adjust this in the menu and it is a neat little camera. Opted for the Ezviz as I already have these installed and are superb.

Camera was very easy to setup using the QR code on the base of the camera, just scan QR with phone camera and download the app. Picture quality is great and the 2 way microphone is an added bonus. We use the camera to keep an eye on our dog when we are out of the house. I would deffo reccomend this camera to anyone looking for a very easy to use security device.

Absolutely brilliant as a baby monitor for a 1/5 of a price of a standalone system. No need for a crappy display unit as it’s on your phone which is by now part of your arm for most people in the modern world.

A very well made and well packaged camera.
The motion detection and picture quality is amazing, even in very low to no light. The auto pan feature could do with a little work, as it sometimes overshoots.
I would 100% recommend this for anyone who just wants to keep an eye on their home or office. It’s great!

Easy to set up on my android phone. Easy to access but you will need either a subscription or sd card in order to record any footage. Baught in order to keep track of my dog while at work. She has a habit of stealing my dirty underwear and hiding them down the sofa. Now I can catch her out and will be able to pass evidence onto the authorities…

Brilliant hardware and software. Only one niggle with the sw for this camera model..you can’t fast forward remotely you need to be on the
Same network. This problem is solved with newer cameras. All it would require is a firmware update.

Great product for the price, very happy with it.
Only flaw is maybe the motion sensor is a small bit over sensitive.

    Nice design.
Easy to install and setup via phone app, once installed a desktop app is also available.
SD slot so you don’t HAVE to use the cloud if you don’t want to.
Great motion tracking, configurable zones for movement detection/alarms.
Definitely worth the extra cash over the generic brand cameras.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIn the quest to find a decent home security camera below 50, and trying to avoid the stuff that’s just not worth 5, I was directed to the EZVIZ range, and I’m fairly impressed.

I decided to use this as a baby monitor since in the description, this was one of the uses it mentioned. I’ll touch on what it does well here, and also why it makes a better general security camera than a baby monitor.

Setting up the camera is really easy. In the box you get everything you need, and all you have to do is download the app, plug it in and follow the instructions to set it up on your wifi. It’s mentioned in the instructions, but I’ll mention it again as I always see this come up in comments, this is a 2.4Ghz wifi camera, there’s no 5Ghz here, and that’s just fine. If you’ve got wifi, you’ve got 2.4ghz wifi, you just need to make sure you’re not trying to connect this to 5ghz wifi, it won’t go.

The app is good, but not great. There’s a couple of things that could use some work, but it works really well and is reliable. One of the things that stood out as a positive here was that while there is a cloud service available with some extra features, the camera and app function well without this, and the app doesn’t push this service on you at all. If you pop an SD card into the device, you’ll still get notifications for motion and recordings are saved to the device instead of the cloud. The EZVIZ camera will also let you stream the videos from the SD card wirelessly to your phone, so you don’t have to take the SD card out to view what’s saved. I’ve got a good couple of weeks of motion recorded events on the 64GB card I put in, and there’s no sign of it running out yet. There’s also an always on recording function, however it’s disabled by default and gives a nice warning against using that since it can destroy flash memory.
The main page on the app gives you an overview of all your cameras and a thumbnail of each video feed. This update periodically with the latest thing the cameras have seen. The next page shows your messages, and this is where your alerts such as motion events are saved. From here you can shortcut directly to the video clip that corresponds with that alert. The last page give you access to your account and app settings. You can set up shared access from here so that you can let family members access the video feeds, and you can determine what level of access they have. Live view is on by default, but you can optionally enable playback of saved recordings and motion events, let alarms notify that user, enable or disable 2 way audio, and allow or lock control of camera pan and tilt. Pretty cool. The camera has a privacy mode, but the shared user can’t control this feature at all.
A small issue with the app is the camera quality settings. There’s basic, standard, hi-def and Ultra HD. Ultra HD is usually a term reserved for 4K video, which this camera doesn’t have. It would make more sense to have these resolutions just shown as actual resolutions, 480p, 720p, 1080p etc.

The video quality is pretty good. I wish it could be a little sharper and clearer, but it’s good for the price point, and I haven’t seen any cameras like these ones at this price point that have superior quality. It’s got a nice wife field of view, and since it’s able to move, you can pretty much get coverage of an entire room. You can also enable motion tracking in settings, this will have the camera track someone who is walking about when they start to reach the edge of the camera’s field of view. There’s zones you can select for motion detection as well, so if you’ve got the camera pointing into a space where there’s a lit of movement, and you don’t want that triggering the notifications, you can select that area and the camera will ignore that, while still paying attention to the other areas. There’s a feature in the app that will let the camera take a full 360 snapshot once you set it down, then from within the app, you can view that image and tap on any area of the image to have the camera quickly snap to that position.

As I mentioned earlier, I’m using this as baby monitor at the moment. I can see and hear the little one regardless of where I am in the house, and my partner can even have a little peak in on her when she’s at work. There is a video delay of just under 1 second most of the time, so it’s really quick. Once exception here is that when I streamed the video footage onto a chrome cast, or smart display, there was a delay of around 10 seconds, which is a bit much. One of the areas where the camera comes up short as a baby monitor is that it can’t give notifications for crying, so unless you’re actively streaming the video feed, you can’t hear anything, and you won’t get notified regardless of how loud your kid cries. As far as baby monitors go, audio is usually the first thing I’m looking for. It would be nice to see some kind of update that adds noise detection, and perhaps a audio only mode so that you can have the audio from the camera streamed to devices such as smart speakers. The 2nd thing that was a bit of an intermittent annoyance was that sometimes when streaming the video feed, it’ll simply stop streaming out, and you need to press play again on your phone/tablet. I haven’t been able to figure out why this happens because it’s so intermittent. Sometimes it will do it after a few minutes, other times I’ve had the stream run for hours without issue. It doesn’t happen all the time though, and I hope it’s something that irons it’s self out over time.

The night vision is fairly good, and will fill a small to medium sized room with IR light. Larger rooms will still be visible, but you start to lose light in places further out.

It’s powered by USB, and I found that some of the normal USB ports in my house supplied enough power to use it, meaning you can shift if around really easily, and when powering the camera up again, it just sets it’s self back up again automatically and resumes doing what it does.

I’ve also noticed that it will use your local network whenever possible (when your on the same wifi network). This means you are not sending any video over the internet, and you’ll still be able to view a stable stream even if your internet’s a bit slow. The exception here would be when you stream to a chromecast or smart display, for some reason the video get’s passed out to the internet and then back whenever you use one of these.

I’m quite happy with this camera. There’s a few small flaws, but they are not deal breakers, and it’s still one of the better camera’s you can get at the sub 50 price point.

For a budget cam the EZVIZ Security Camera 1080P is good value for money. The picture quality and features are really good, although when left on motion detection, the tracking stops after a very short time and it locks up.
The main problem I had was the lack of instructions! Yes it comes with instructions in the box, but you have to guess at what a lot of them mean, it seems to have lost something in translation in to English. No problem I thought, go to the helpline, questions are answered in around 12 hours (I would have liked it to be quicker), but the answers bear no relation to the questions I asked, in fact 2 entirely different questions I asked came back with exactly the same answer and the answer was wrong for both questions.
I would suggest if they are selling into an English speaking market, they should get someone who speaks English to sort out the instructions.

Bought this camera to monitor outside my window. Excellent footage, alerts when there is motion and saves that footage for you to view. For night there is a street light outside and I turn the IR off. Really clear pictures during the day. Car headlights at night stop you getting the registration plate but I’m viewing it at quite a distance. During the day is fine. Excellent camera, even my neighbours are impressed.

Wasn’t really sure what to expect from such a cheap camera, but this thing is brilliant. The night vision is superb, even in very dark light, and the added option of saving film clips to the cloud is a bonus, although you do have to pay once the free trial is up.

My only gripe is the sensitivity…even turned down low it is triggered by the very slightest of movements. Other than that, for the price, great item.

The camera met most of my expectations based on the description given, it was easy to set up and works well. The pictures are great and the basic functions are easy to use. Every works well except the motion detection and tracking which is next to useless. The camera only seems to detect motion which is directly in front of it. Most of the time is seems to track ghosts wondering around on its pedestal aimlessly. That said, I still like this product.

However, the big disappointment is that the product only comes with a ‘quick start guide’, no full user manual is packaged with it and none is available to download. So, I can use all the basic functions but with everything else I’m on my own. There are many things I do not understand and am still trying, by trial and error to figure out. I still don’t know what is recorded on the SD Card vs the Cloud Storage, nor how to download images. I can’t work out how to pan/tilt and zoom at the same time and I only found out there is a PC application to use the camera after stumbling across it online while looking for something else.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersI bought this camera as I wanted something to monitor my car outside seeing as someone had managed to reverse into it a few days ago. This isnt what it’s designed for, but maybe this review will help others who want it for a similar purpose.

Set up for the camera was extremely easy. My sky router is already at 2.4ghz so I didn’t have to faff with splitting the 5ghz signal out, but aside from that it connected straight away and the app is easy to use. I paid 35 for this camera as it was on offer so the picture quality is reasonable for that price – I would be disappointed had I paid full price though. During daylight the detail/resolution is sufficient but certainly not 1080p. In the darkness it struggles to pick out any detail at all as where I live has very little street lighting etc,but when other cars drive by then their headlights are enough to be able to see things. The camera has two IR lights to aid night vision, but unfortunately as my camera looks out the window all you end up seeing is the reflection of the camera itself in the glass! Motion detection works well and it is very easy to view saves videos on the cloud using the app. All I have left to try out is how it works with a micro sd card rather than cloud storage, seeing as I don’t want to pay monthly for the service.

Overall I would recommend this, but don’t expect crystal clear quality. If you are paying full price then please let value for money is not fantastic, but at 35 I can’t complai

Far from perfect, but good for the price

I’ve got much more expensive and we’ll known cameras and this matches them in every respect, actually it’s better, there are two big differences though, the 1st is that it’s much easier to set up and the 2nd is that it’s much cheaper to buy. This is the second EZVIZ camera I’ve recently bought and my son has bought one as well, all have been consistently better than cameras costing a lot more money, I can recommend this camera.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWe have a couple of the eziviz fixed cameras with the magnetic bases to use as baby monitors for the kids. We brought this one as when we are away at the grandparents place, the kids share a room but either side of the room. This has a simple pan and tilt feature which is easy to use and I can adjust the position of the camera on my phone when I hear a disturbance. I haven’t set any motion detection up as my kids fidget and I only check the cam if I hear a noise through the walls or just want to check them.
This cam was easy to set up but I just added it to my existing app. From memory, setting the ezviz app up from fresh was quite easy anyway. Only point to make is if you change your router/wifi settings you have to reset each camera up as well as they are tethered to the settings you used on first install.

I really recommend this cam. It was very easy to set it up. Even the price is economic the cam has the high quality that we can find in comparisson with the others cams with higher prices. The cam helps to follow any movement in 360 degrees. The cam moves automactly following the movement when it detects in mode surveillance. If you have babies or pets this function is really helpfull. Other thing that if your want privacy you can turn on the privacy option and the cam will leave to transmit.

    Better picture!!!
