Like so many other smart items I find Alexa difficult to connect to .

I had to improvise for bottom strip due to stand from TV .

    Otherwise it’s Great .

I’ve never seen an LED strip like this before, it’s like a thick piece of flexible rubber with the LEDs inside. This has a few benefits, it’s easier to go around corners (there are brackets that stick onto the back of the TV to help guide it around too) and it merges the light of the individual LEDs, so you get a much nicer blended effect.

The LEDs are also far brighter than a standard strip, and as such the colours just seem far more vivid and really pop from behind the screen. The downside of this is that it uses more electricity, and so needs its own standalone plug. What I don’t like about that is that I can’t just plug it into a USB port on my TV, so it doesn’t turn on and off with my TV which I find annoying.

The app is perfectly functional, and they do work very well with Alexa, however, it would be far better if they just came on with my TV.

Prompt delivery and a very easy set up. My 55in TV is wall mounted so it was important for me to be able to route the cables through the wall from TV to the electrical sockets beneath it. Lights come with approx. 1.5m of power cable from the control box (fits to back of TV) to the adapter socket that plugs in so I was able to route thru the cable hole behind the tv, down the back of the wall, and then back out at floor level to the electric socket with no problems. (TV is set at about eye height when seated…if you have wall routed cables and TV is positioned higher then you may need longer cable)

Very easy to set up using the templates provided for attaching the brackets that hold the light strip in place. My tv is back on the wall mount and the lights provide great lighting effects that reach well out to the sides above and below the TV. It looks like it’s floating off the wall. Can’t wait to try out all the options for scenes now. This Works well with the app and also via Google Home using voice commands. The app allows many different types of light scenes. Overall a very effective LED tv lightstrip.

I love LED tape and have it installed around my home. This type of RGBIC LED tape encased inside a silicone tube is a firm favourite of mine as it’s easier to install and looks much better than standard tape. The superior RGBIC LEDs allow this tape to display multiple colours simultaneously, resulting in some cool effects (controlled via the app). Standard RGB LED tape can only show one colour.

This version does not sync with the TV colours, but Govee does another version called DreamView, which uses a camera mounted above the screen to synchronize colours. Another way to achieve synchronization (although more expensive) is by using the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box.

If you’re not bothered about synchronization and just want to experience some cool backlighting effects, this tape is ideal and I’d recommend it!

If you’ve not heard of Govee they make lights that are fantastic quality but at are more reasonable price to Philips Hue. Govee have become my go to manufacturer for lighting systems in my house and their products don’t dissapoint.

I have a 75inch television and standard USB powered LED strips don’t perform well enough to create any type of desirable lighting effect. This is where this light strip differs – the light output is excellent – being mains powered it’s super bright and as it’s a tubular design it’s puts out a nice diffused light rather than a harsh straight edged light.

Installation is simple and everything you need is included in the kit along with different templates for different sized televisions. The mounts attach to your TV with 3m tape and then you can attach the light strip to the mounts.

Depending on your TV size you will either get all 4 edges covered or in my case with a 75 inch tv the kit will cover the top and sides.

The strip can be controlled via the Govee app or simply connected to your smart home. When I ask my Google home to turn on the lights my TV lights also come on – connectivity is swift and easy.

The Govee app is excellent and gives you the ability to customise your light strip – you can have multiples colours across the strip at the same time so it means you can create some dramatic custom effects or if you want use the pre-made Govee scenes which are also great.

I love Govee products and this light strip didn’t disappoint. Would love to try out their corner light which also looks amazing.

We had a previous simple led lighting on our original TV, but when we bought our new LG OLED48A16LA TV, wanted a better system, there’s so many functions via the app I have downloaded to my phone, making your options so variable, brightness, music, colour modes and much more, just love it. Thought it was a little expensive, but so worth it.

Really fantastic strip – more of a rope than your standard LED strip, very thick and pretty well diffused. Set up was time consuming but the results are great – sticking the strips to the TV using the guides and mounts was interesting, never done it before but so happy I took the time to do it properly. Had it up for a few weeks and seems very secure, if not a little fiddly to get them snugly in the mount.

Features are limited but good – the best in my opinion is that you can customise each section of strip to whatever your chosen colour is. Mine for example has the top of the TV in one colour and the sides in another. Looks great!

Integrated with alexa with no issues. You will however need the stand alone app and amazon skill activated.

I have lots of LED strip lighting, the TV has gone through a fair few iterations, I don’t think I’ll be replacing this one anytime soon. Price is good considering quailty, would recommend.

This product has an absolutely epic install guide it is by far the best led strip I have fitted to a tv, and I have fitted led strips to all my TV’s since I can remember led strips being around.
You have a simple guide and template to follow making it simple and accurate.
Once installed I was shocked to see it has a 240v plug to be plugged into the wall I am used to a usb plug that just went in the tv.
This meaning now when I turn the tv on or off the led strip is independent and I have to say I don’t like this. I do think it’s smart that you can control it via Alexa and it’s easy to set up and was a very smooth process.
I did at the start think this set was designed to change with the tv colours but once I had received the kit I realised that it’s not as it does not have the camera needed to control lights.
You do have an app that you can change things and have it set to go with the music but it’s not that great.
I feel for almost 60 this is a very expensive led strip light that can be controlled by Alexa.
Usually I’m paying 10/15 for a strip light that will turn on and off with the tv remote.
Now these lights are so much brighter than any other light I’ve fitted to the back of a television before they are super bright.
They are really heavy duty and I’m sure will last the lifetime of the tv.
Overall I personally would not pay 60 for this I think it’s too expensive for just a very good quality led light.

Great installation guide, super bright, expensive

This came very well packaged in a retail box and inside there are three compartments: one housing the light strip, one housing the mains adapter and the final one has the attachments, instructions, etc.

Included with the instructions are templates for laying out the light strips, 65–75-inch TVs & 48–55-inch TVs, in my case for a 75″ TV, making siting it on the back of the TV much easier. You get three corners and then seven straight mounts, each stick to the back of the TV and then the light strip clips into them., These are not lightweight ones, they are substantial. The reason they are substantial is because the light strip is substantial also.

This light strip is unlike the cheap, thin ones, which have the exposed LEDs which we are used to seeing these days. This is one of the newer Neon or COB designed ones, where the bulbs are completely covered by a diffuser. Making for a more attractive light. On top of that, these are RGBIC LEDs, meaning they have an Intelligent Controller built in. So, they can do far more than normal LEDS, where you tend to only be able to have all the LEDs one colour.

There is an inline controller but if you want to access the full potential of these lights, you do need to download the “Govee” app from either the Play or App store. Then set-up an account, pair with your lights, and pair with your wi-fi and you are away. If you want to use a smart home device, in my case Alexa, then you need to enable the skill.

There is so much functionality built into these lights it is impossible to go into detail really in a short review. I have uploaded a video showing just some of the effects. The App has a vast array of modes, you can set colour based on photos or videos, chose from 16million colours, take a photo of your curtains and set the colour to match those, music sync, etc, etc. The list goes on.

I am moving in about 4-6weeks. The move has been delayed by that match, hence why these are not up on my TV yet. I do have quite a few smart lights from another well-known brand, one set around my TV currently, but these are a huge step up and I cannot wait to get then on the TV.

The one thing I will say is that these do not sync with the picture on the TV, and they are not meant to – they do not come with a camera. This is a real shame that there is not an option to include that on what is otherwise an excellent light strip and one of the best I have come across.

I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.
NB. For a sizing guide, squares in photos are 1cm.

Superb, diffused lighting. Shame no TV picture sync option.

This LED strip is very well made.

The strip comes with a rubber triangle coating. This helps improve the lights in various ways over the standard LED strips. For a star, they do a great job at diffusing the light, this means that the individual lights blend together much better and it doesn’t look like lots of individual lights as with a normal strip.
Also, the triangle shape causes the light to shine outwards as well as backwards which makes the light much more visible on the wall behind the tv, especially if the tv is further away from the wall.

The app does work quite well however in my opinion, it takes a little getting used to and can be a little bit fiddly. They are also quite expensive however you are paying for high quality and a branded name.

    Overall, I would recommend.

This neon LED TV backlight comes in a retail cardboard box and inside you’ll find the light strip, power supply, mounting clips, quick start guide and user manual, and two sets of positioning cards.

Straight from the presentation of the box, you can tell that this is going to be a quality product. The box is covered in neon colour which always catches my eye. Opening the box and you are presented with two boxes with one containing the power supply and the other has the positioning cards and mounting clips inside. Removing these two boxes and you’ll find the light strip at the bottom of the box.

The light strip is the best LED lighting strip I’ve ever reviewed, and it is covered in a flexible rubber casing which gives it a really great quality feel. The casing is diffused so this helps give a better ambient light as the light emitted from the LEDs is scattered which gives a more smoother light. This stops the common “spotting” you get with cheaper sets as you can tell where the individual LEDs are along the strip as it is brighter on your wall in that area. With the Govee light strip, the spotting is illuminated, and you get a nice even light against your wall.

Installation is straight forward and is made even easier with the included positioning cards. There are two packs of cards with one set being for 48-55 inch TV’s and the other for 65-75inch TV’s. The positioning cards are designed to be stuck to the back of your TV, aligned with the edge of the card to the edge of your TV, and the holes in the card show you where you need to stick each mounting clip. It’s a very simple system and it ensures your LED light trip is installed in the correct position all around your TV, so you get a more even light.

In use, they give a beautiful neon light with extremely vibrant colours with great colour saturation. The diffused casing gives a seamless light which transfers from one colour to the next smoothly with very little transition. They are not synced to your screen, as they have no device to monitor the movement, so these are just LED lights in which you can control the colours and movement of the lights. You can have solid colours or moving patterns with fire being my favourite as it resembles the flicker of a fireplace. The TV looks so much better with a neon light behind it as it makes it stand out and I have a bit of a thing for neon colours. The colours can be controlled with an app, the inline remote, or with the remote control. As always, you have a lot more control with the app as you can choose the precise colour you want unlike using the remote where you have a limited range of colours to choose from. From the app you can set timers to make the lights automatically turn on and off. They can react to music and flicker and rotate to the beat which makes music more fun. They can also be controlled via Alexa so you can use your voice to control the colours or moving light presets.

In conclusion, these are the best behind TV LEDs that I have used by far. The LED light strip is inside a diffused rubber coating which gives a much smoother light from behind your TV. They can get really bright if you turn them up and the colour saturation is the best I’ve seen. These lights are expensive but you’re getting a really nice light setup with Alexa support, and they are far superior to the cheaper LED kits you can get. They do need a power supply though as they take a little more power, so can’t be run off the USB port of your TV, you have to use the included power supply. Also to note, if you have a 65 inch TV or bigger then you will only have lights at the top and sides as the LED strip isn’t long enough to go all the way around. I don’t find this an issue but it may annoy some people. I’ll be looking into more Govee products as this kit has impressed me so much

Expensive compared to others, but this is a high quality kit with impressive results...

Editing this review as I now cannot get this light strip to stay on the back of My TV using the clips and 3m tape supplied
I bought heavy duty double sided 3m tape, cleaned the back of my tv …taped it to the back of the clips supplied and also to the Inside it just doesn’t stay on … I’m kinda at a loss now

Update to above : govee were amazing and have sent me updated clips with actual clips attached , that give a satisfactory click when you put the light strip in and they do hold the strip really well , I attached the clips left for 24 hours, and attached the strip all seemed fine , however it the corner clips fell off after two days
I then got M3 double sided tape
Attached two strips of the tape left for 24 hours – and attached the corner clips again left for 24 hours , and then strip but alas the corner clips fell off again with the strip still attached.. I don’t know if it’s the back of my tv or the weight of the strip

Thanks to goove for being so kind to send me new clips , but I think I may have to save my pennies and get the light strip that reacts to the colours of the TV as that is flat light strip which will be lighter and should stay up

    – I will have to find another place of this light strip – however I stand by my below review as I am impressed by it – my TV just doesn’t seem to like it.
Really impressed with this light strip, it comes packed really well, with instructions and a quick start ,with positioning cards for the size of your TV, I used the ones for the 65 inch , my Tv is 60 , and as they didn’t have one for that size I had to use one that was closest to the size. It also comes with a wipe so you can clean the back of the TV before you stick down the positioning cards.

The light strip is really thick and feels well made and durable and it has a remote control attached that you can stick to the back of your TV, you use it to turn it on and cycle through the modes and brightness.

It was easy to install, you postion the cards which are numbered and they have a diagram on each card that tells you where to place it depending on the number .

You get that plastic holders that hold the strip and place them within the correct holes within the positioning cards, there is a 3m tape on the back of the holders to stick them down, so make sure they r in the correct position before you stick them down, hold them for 10 seconds in place to make sure they stick, then peal off the positioning cards

I had to use an extra small clip as I had some excess at the bottom

Once the strip is plugged in , it starts flashing
You download the Govee app to pair it , you can do that by scanning the QR code on the box or by searching within the Google play store or app store.

I already had it downloaded so it was just a case of opening the app and selecting the + icon at the top right , you can get an installation video and you go through the on screen instructions of how to pair it and connect it to your WIFI it only uses 2.4gz , so you may have to access your router status page & turn off the 5gz – connect the strip and then turn the 5gz back on.

Once connected you can use the govee app to change the colour and modes

The colour is really bright and impressive , you can also control it via alexa and Google home & you can set up alexa routines that include it also

I would like govee to bring out a light strip that would react to your tv changing the colour without a camera

This does have a music mode but it doesn’t minic the colour on the TV

However I still really like i

    bright light .. bright ligh

If you can’t justify the high cost of the big name brand in the smart lighting game, then Govee is probably a name you’ve encountered a few times.
The quality of the product is great, the coating works really well to give a nice, soft diffusion to the LEDs which is something that a lot of cheaper products struggle with.
This thing is easy to install and easy to set up. It needs mains power so it’s another cable you need to tidy away but other than that it looks great.
You can control it with an app or smart home assistant and it has a variety of light settings you can play around with.
You can get similar effects with cheaper products (some that are sold by Govee) but I think you’re mainly paying for the plastic diffuser on these lights, and it does make a big difference.
Ultimately though, if you’re looking at these I’d recommend spending a bit extra and getting the kit that “syncs” with your TV picture – they come with a rubbish-looking camera to work but don’t need a 200 box like another brand does.

I am very impressed with the quality of this item. At the current asking price I have no doubt that this is a product I would highly recommend. I have a Samsung 65″ curved TV in my living room that I’ve been wanting to enhance with immersion lighting for quite some time. Originally, I ordered a generic LED strip that I just set it to a cool white at 50% and left it at that. It wasn’t that great and really didn’t do good job.

I upgraded to this and as I said I’m very impressed. The installation was very easy, the clips provided makes this whole process a breeze. Responsiveness is adjustable from the app from low, normal, or high. I’m keeping it on normal, because I felt it was sufficient, but again, I’m glad the options exist for those who might have different usage scenarios. I am so impressed at how well these lights adapt to the colours on the TV.

The lights give off bright and vivid colours that match the colours on the screen, which gives you more of an immersion feel. The timing and accuracy of the lights is on point with every movement on the screen. There isn’t really much length on the cable so you will have to ensure you get the installation right first.

A fantastic product highly recommend. Hope this review helps.

    Very Impressive!

This is an example of a premium tv strip. Neon gives off a fantastic bright glow, far better than any other tv led strip. However, for this price, you can get Govee tv led strip which reacts to whats on the screen.

Therefore, the price is a little too high. Yes its RGBIC and yes it really high quality, but the reality is you can get a more adaptive set of led strip, made by the same brand for similar price. I would pay around 35 for these. The box comes well packaged as does all the includes parts.

This is a fantastic set of TV LED lights. I’ve used various thin strip ones in the past, but had given up on them due to poor fitting and them easily breaking. You also had to cut and put corner pieces in, which was quite a.hassle and looked unsightly. These, on the other hand, are far from it.

These utilise a triangular curved shape rubber housing, which I can best describe as similar to a larger rubber bath sealing strip. They flex to curved angles and form a great single strip to fit behind the TV.

Installation is extremely simple. Clean the surface of the rear of the TV. Line up the black mounting plates where you want the strip to run and stick them to the surface of the TV rear. Feed the LED strip around and squeeze to fit in the brackets. Plug the adapter in (24v mains adapter), then install the app. The app then tells you how to connect to your WiFi and Alexa.

My photos really don’t do these justice. They work extremely well and add some fantastic lighting to the back of the TV; enough to light up the room on full brightness.

You can select solid colours or moving / patterned ones. These are numerous scenes, including forests, starry skies, fire, rainbow, etc to name just a few. Some are a little manic, but would work as a theft deterrent if setup on some form of alarm via Alexa.

Voice remote control of the lighting works perfectly on Alexa. There are also music modes for when you want to listen to music and have the lights flashing to it.

These are fantastic LED TV lights that I can completely recommend.

The best TV lighting I've used. Superb all round

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIn the video I’ve got the product before installation.

Comes in a quite big box, was confused to see such a big box with a couple of meters only of lights but when opened, I was really surprised to see everything packed very well and safely.

All the brackets come separately, pieces and cables.

The LEDs sting is something I see for the first time – covered in a strong and thick tube, white matte coloured. To be honest I don’t understand completely the idea behind it but it definitely makes the difference.

It’s easy to install brackets but not easy to bend and install the led strips on it. It’s thick, strong and quite uncomfortable to arrange it everywhere like in the pictures. But once it’s done, looks very lovely.

Works very cool, lights are really bright, behind my 50″ LG TV it looks very nice but it’s not what it wants to be. The scene can be changed from the phone remotely or even via Google Assistant – has to be set up.
If there’s a video sequence where scenes are changing quite fast and very different, for instance, it becomes a bit useless. In some cases it really is enhancing the view and it’s enjoyable but not always. Anyway, when buying such a product, you should know about it.

Also, it needs quite a lot of electric power and there’s no way to connect it to the TV USBs as those have for output power about 5-7W, this one definitely needs more so an additional power source is needed.

It’s pricey but definitely another level of lighting, I really like it, appreciate many details which I haven’t noticed on other led lights and this is explaining the price. Yet, I believe it should be lower to be a great product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese neon lights are different from the standard LED lights you see for sale often nowadays. The lights are held with a flexible and durable tube which are guided using the provided brackets.

Installing the brackets is easy as they have adhesive backs which are revealed by peeling off the sticker. You then just stick them in your desired location to guide the tube.

The lights can be controlled either by the app, Alexa, or the buttons on the power lead, from which you can change the scenes, modes and power.

All in all, they’re good lights but perhaps on the expensive side at 59.99, which was the price at time of writing.

I hope you found this review helpful.

    Good neon lights.
