Easy to use and float well on the pond but fiddly to clip together. Looks better than a conventional net. I would recommend giving them a go.

Bought this product to use as a deterrent for Herons which had decided they liked the look of my prize Koi . The beauty of the product is it’s invisible until they try to land in the pond . Excellent value .

easy to put together. Like the fact that you can cut out the centres to go over tall plants in the pond.

Wish I’d found these earlier, would have saved myself a lot of misery losing fish to a nuisance hero

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOkay: despite the negative reviews, I decided to take the risk and try these myself I’m glad I did. Firstly these do float! My video will show you how they float just below surface and if you want them to sit on the surface, then you just need to bring them to the surface and allow the surface tension to hold them above the surface. You will also see my little toad pal sitting on them and being chuffed to be sitting afloat I included photos of the instructions, Which shows a suggested lay out that leaves diamond shaped gaps, I didn’t like that idea so went for a fully butted up together pattern, but this will ultimately will reduce area covered. I found 1 pack covered approx 2 meters squared however that was my choice of pattern and I have no real complaints, I just ordered a second pack to finish off. I went bonkers on the clips to try and see if there were indeed ample supply. I linked every possible connection point and would have been 4 short, but I went sooooo overkill! All in all it seems a good produc

    Don’t believe the negative reviews!

Easy to put together and they really deter the heron from getting the pond fish

Unfortunately couldn’t post photo as was not working at this time.
We have a statue fountain in middle of pond.we assembled pond hexagons discs around this and placed rocks on top of some of the edge discs dotted around pond to secure,as they do not float very well. Certainly doing the trick as heron has not had any more of our fish. Took the remaining fish a while to feal happy to come out of hiding ,and swim under discs.but now they must feal safe as swimming around like they used to do.
Looks a lot neater than a net.
    Very happy

Lost 40 fish to heron and since using this product and a net it has deterred it.

Time will tell how effective these are. On the plus side, they float on the surface and as such, are not really noticeable. On the minus side, clipping them together is quite fiddly and you need strong fingers to snap the plastic clips on.

I was always put off buying these by all of the bad reviews and am a little bemused why some people have said that they don’t float? As you can see, they do. Beautifully. I even assembled them on the water to get best fit, no problems. Can sleep easy in my bed knowing my water babies are safe again Wish I’d bought them years ago.

    What doesn't float?

Bought these to protect pond fish from a rather inquisitive heron. So far has done the job pretty well. A low cost, effective solution. Fitting the hexagons together can be a bit fiddly but that apart works well.

Fiddly to assemble. Float well. As I have a small waterfall they tend to rotate around the the pond, albeit very slowly. Having a lot of them negates this. However they will still tend to overlap each other. Only time will tell if they deter my major reason for buying them – to protect my fish from the heron!

Used to protect my fish from possible Heron attack. Replaced a large frame and net. Seems to work well, the fish are able to feed through it although the larger ones swim across the top.

I didn’t want to ruin the look of my pond with a net, the pond guard is only noticeable when your right on top of the pond and even then it does not stand ou

This product arrived the next day. Easy to put together and because we have an unusual shaped pond it was perfect. Looks okay as well. Hopefully we will stop losing fish now.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI found this quite fiddly to fit together, really hurt my fingers pulling the clips apart and slotting the pieces through the gap. I really should have measured my pond before ordering as I could do with more than 20; my pond is about 4′ by 3′. Once clipped together I put them in the pond, initially they sank but in the morning they were floating.

I am wondering if it would have been better to clip 2 or 3 together so they could float about the pond in the breeze independently, perhaps being more of a deterrent for the egret that keeps taking my fish. I don’t know at this moment in time if it is working as I am only around to see at weekends (plus don’t know if I have any fish left after its most recent visit and before I got these)

Can’t quite work out what to do with the frogs/plant ties that came too.

Difficult to fix together. The rings are very difficult to open and fix. Can’t say if they’re efficient as I haven’t stocked my new pond. But they look good in the pond. Better than netting and they can be cut to fit around plants.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese mesh tiles have been great for our small pond. They have not sunk but need to be linked together. Water lilies are growing through them and fish have no problem feeding. Seagulls and heron have not bothered us since they were installed.

Float well on pond, but move easily with any slight wind, or water movement caused by fountain or waterfall etc. Using these along with old CD’s suspended on string above pond; no fish casualties so far.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI don’t normally leave feedback but on this occasion I felt I should. We have an affinity half moon pond and find a heron helping itself to the goldfish. I used a net immediately to cover they pond but this looked a bit of an eye saw. Having placed these in they seem a perfect solution. They can be easily trimmed with scissors although the clips are a little fiddly putting on but they do the job. I would definitely recommend them as they are a quick and tidy solution to keeping the heron away.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersExcellent floating pond guards for our Blagdon Affinty Pool.

Sadly whilst on holiday last year there were strong winds and our fountain virtually emptied our pool and we came home to the loss of our 4 goldfish and some of their babies. We were gutted as obviously the heron had visited and took our fish.

So on buying some new goldfish we also purchased a pond net, but this was ugly hanging over the edges of the pool and it also blocked the viewing of the side windows.

On doing some research I came across these plastic pond guards and bought them.

So pleased with them as now you don’t see an ugly net and when you look over the edges of the pool you can barely see the pond guards as they are like huge 50p’s that clip together.

We didn’t use them all as the circumference to our pool isn’t large, but at least we have lots of spares if needed.

Hopefully these will keep the heron away, only time will tell.

    Highly recommend.

Not enough clips to connect all of them together. Can do it with one clip for each but then they moves about amongst themselves.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersHaving lost several fish to the heron recently, decided to go with these floating pond guards. Easy peasy to clip together. In fact, I’ve only clipped some of them together and placed the others around them which seems to work well. Having just refurbished the pond at great expense I was disappointed that I had to figure out some way of covering it to protect the fish. I didn’t like the idea of netting or dotting unrealistic plastic herons about the place. These pond guards are faily discreet, they do not dominate the look of the pond and kind of ‘blend in’. I feel more confident now and have stopped standing guard by the window to shoo the heron away when it arrives for its take-out. So far, no further attacks. RIP Moby, Elvis and Big Pink 🙁

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersWe lost 12 goldfish (2 lots of 6) in one week and whilst it is lovely to see herons , we did not want to be the local go to breakfast bar for them. Sceptical about this solution but after 3 weeks the goldfish are still with us. You can see the black plastic webs through the water but you can also see the fish and now they seem to have a fighting chance. Clever idea and so far so good. The web rings are easily adapted to the shape of the pond. Would recommend.
