Why you need a baby gate?

Stairway Safety – Unless you like your toddler served over-easy, you should install a gate at the top and the bottom of the stairs. We all worry about babies falling from the top of the stairs, but it is also easy for a crawling baby to go up several steps from the bottom and tumble back down.

It looks well made, but the width of the brackets are a little too wide for me to use on my deck stairs without figuring out a way to jury rig it. I’ll either need to add a couple of pieces of wood, or find a bracket/clamp of some sort.

Using on deck steps and ramp. They work nice, we will have to see how they weather, since they are being used outside. They mount with plastic brackets to the posts. One cracked while mounting. I used it anyway. Like I said in the title - lots of plastic.

Einfache Installatio
Schnell und unkompliziert angebracht. Der Rollo lsst sich mit einer Hand leise ffnen und schlieen. Eines unserer Kinder hat mal versucht drunter durch zu schlpfen ist aber nicht gelungen. Tut was es soll!
lets start with the only CON i have for this : the bracket system is stupidly badly designed. The bracket to mount this to the wall is about 3inch and a half wide with both screw hole being 3 inch apart and you are suppose to screw the bracket to a stud, stud bein 1inch and a half wide… its pretty dumb. The hole should have been put vertically on this instead of horizontal.
Ive fixed this buy screwing a diamond shaped piece of plywood in a stud first and then screwed the bracket to it.
Pros :
Other than that it works great its pretty sturdy to resist the multiple invasion attempt of our daughter into the stairs.
You can opperate easily with one hand you unlock it first then just unhook the gate.
it comes with two set of bracket so you can move the gate around as needed and its pretty easy to do so.
the bottom bracket is adjustable to make it fit over wall trimm if needed.
Adressing other comment:
i guess you could use this for pets too but manage your expectation. ive had a dog who once “dug” through a wall to make its way in the entrance closet and then did the same thing to said closet door to escape a closed room. So even though the fabric is solid, any determined dog could claw or chew through it eventually or at least damage it. But with a minimum of supervision and training you could teach your dog to leave it alone when its closed. As long as you dont expect this to hold off a dog thats been left alone to try and explore.

Bought this to put at the front door so the dogs don't run out when people open the door. It's see through enough that the dogs can see, but high enough that they wouldn't jump over. I tried to push it with decent force, the ends HAS to be on studs, otherwise it'll come loose on its own.

This is a great gate! We have two and use them for our stairs which is our less traffic area for our little one. As it is lower traffic area to use I wanted a gate that wasn’t gonna be a pain and in the way when left open. Takes up very little space making it great when not in use. We not only use it for our one year old but for our medium/large sized dog as well. The lock feature is great and easy to use. My 6 year old can use the gate no problem when needed. It will be one of the first gates my youngest will be able to figure out but by then we won’t need it for her. We will always keep one for our dog as it keeps him at the back door after coming in from outside. Definitely recommend!

Notre gros chien n'essaie même pas de passe
Nous avons install sur le deck, pour isoler la cours arrire du deck, pour empcher notre bouvier (130 lbs) de passer. Nous avions quelques craintes que la barrire ne l’arrterais pas, mais il ne tente mme pas de passer.
Il essaie quelque fois de machouiller les attaches quand la barrire n’est pas dploye, mais jamais la barrire. Le kit vient avec deux sets d’attaches alors c’est excellent.
On en achte deux autres pour faire la mme chose l’intrieur.
1 great, 1 damaged when I went to install i
I installed one gate and it works great, however the other gate i didn’t install right away as I had Reno’s going on in my basement . I went to install the gate so my granddaughter couldn’t go up the stairs and it was damaged and now I can’t use it. I understand the return window is over but I would like a replacement or a way to have it fixed. These are not cheap to buy and are good gates.
Could someone contact me regarding this issue.

This is a good gate. I have one at the top and one at the bottom of the deck stairs to keep my senior dog off them. They have been fine installed outdoors. They are easy to open and close. The only trouble I have is when it’s too cold, the retractable mechanism freezes up and I cannot open or close it.

We bought two of these to make the living room our baby safe zone. We have an older home we are fixing up and wanted something that would keep her safe when we are doing a house project. So far she hasn’t tried to escape, she’s 11 months. I like that these can easily be closed and you have your walkway back. I don’t like that they can be rolled up wrong if you don’t use the handle portion. My husband doesn’t always use it and it’s rolled up wrong a few times.

Unser Sohn ist 2, wir wollten nicht das er Nachts wenn er mal aufwacht versehentlich von den Treppen strzt und dafr ist das echt gut vorallem sieht es nicht so “hsslich” aus wie die typischen Alternativen. Er ist allerdings ein kleiner Rabauke und krammelt gerne mal darunter das war uns aber von vornherein klar, es soll nur zu Schutz dienen das nicht unbewusst fllt.

Quite a large bracket to fit to the wall. Could have been smaller that would allow it to fit on on more stair types. Had to inprovise a little.

Very happy with the gate, it’s currently in use to stop dogs from coming upstairs and does exactly as it should. There have been no breaches of security. Gate is not in your face when retracted and can easily be removed unlike a typical steel gate.

I really liked having this as an option for the base of my stairs because I have four dogs. It keeps out my dachshund, Great Dane and Airedale-
But my stubborn and stout pitbull, has damaged the mesh fabric of the gate after barely a month of having it.
I was impressed though, because I had the gate locked, in fact the gate itself didn’t actually open.
The mesh fabric was weakened by her scratching and she forced her way underneath it.
The gate still works and keeps the other dogs out, but the metal is bent and fabric torn.
I want to get another one- but maybe I need to stick with a metal gate, or she needs to be kenneled at night.
Honestly, if you like a gate that is out of the way, this is a really nice option. (I did babysit once though and the child kept climbing underneath it and running upstairs- just as a heads up)
Worth the purchase
Gates have changed since my children have grown up but we purchased this to stop a new puppy getting out and into the street.
So, so easy to install. Well made and one hand operation. Would work wonders too for a newborn also!

Brought this to stop my dogs treading on my new stair carpet when they’ve got wet or muddy paws. It’s very sturdy and looks stylish. Very pleased with it.

This is so much better than the normal stair gates. I bought it to put at the bottom of the stairs to stop the dogs and it works. We had a few teething problems at first because the Lab discovered that he could get underneath it if he nose butted the bottom catch off, my fault i didnt lock the gate, he soon gave up after a few attempts when it was locked.

My puppy dachshund can get under it even when it’s locked shut. But it works for the adult dachshund

Was easy to install and so far easy to use. Comes with all fixings. You will need a 5mm bit for the wall plugs. Got this to stop our small dog going up the stairs and so far has been effective.

This is good for my two smaller dogs but not sure it would withstand a large boisterous dog. It’s decent quality. Ok to open and close but would be hard with a baby in one arm for sure. I’d recommend for small to medium dogs not any larger and not sure I would recommend as a baby gate at all. See video.

Why didn’t I buy one sooner!
Really practical! I wish I bought one years ago, no more walking into open gates or struggling to get through with bags, completely retractable and covers a really wide width. Quality is good and the height is impressive, I’m also really pleased it’s slightly see through. I’m not sure how sturdy this would be for a larger breed but this is perfect for my Pomeranians, they’re claws don’t mark the fabric when they jump up either.

We like how long it is, the dogs can see through but not able to push through as retraction is very strong, also there is a lock so that if they jump and lean on the top it doesn’t collapse. The stuff it is made of is very strong same as the dog/windbreak I have is made of the same stuff.

This is absolutely perfect if you just need to block the view of the door of remind the dog not to follow you! It’s absolutely perfect for our purposes but I imagine if you have a dog that is determined and jumps up at it, it’s probably not going to be sufficient to prevent them unfortunately but as long as you are aware of this then go ahead and get it. We love it!

I bought this to keep my dog away from my front door and am really pleased with it. It was easy to fit and can be fitted with skirting boards which was essential to me. It’s easy to use and is very secure. I would thoroughly recommend and have bought another for my stairs.
