Literally a game changer! I was able to plant 12 plants in a tenth of the time it would have taken me to dig.

Used with a cordless 18v Bosch drill. This auger made light work of slate and stone too. Every gardener should have this. Excellent value for money too.

I purchased this to assist me in making holes in the ground to plant tree saplings easier in tough ground.

It was taking too much time and effort to dig holes in hard ground that I attach this to my drill and place it into the ground. It is very quick and does the job. Only down side is that you have to pull off the dirt sometimes where I think it goes round so fast that it clogs up.

But despite this, it makes the job so much easier.

It fits well into the drill and is very strong. Comes in two sizes, which is great as I have since used both.

I put In 120 lavender plants my customer was impressed at how good it worked as was I. One thing to NOTE you need a good quality 18v drill and a good grip on it. I wouldn’t use it on stoney ground or where there are lots of tree roots your wrists will thank you. All in all a good and well made tool

I wasn’t expecting much but it was better than I imagined it would be. I only used it slowly a bit at a time and it’s still in shape so all good.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI used this for some small 50mm square posts. Many reviews indicated hitting a stone or root could lead to broken wrists. I used this with my high powered SDS drill, I’d strongly advise this as the clutch removes that concern.

I am impressed with the quality but not yet used. I had another brand that went missing and bought these to replace it. They really work well in the garden and I use it for planting and turn soil. These look well made. Always looking for bargains and this is priced right, wonder what else they make.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUsed in an 18v drill to create holes for planting hedging.
Even though I needed to enlarge some of the holes with a post hole digger, the auger bit being used to open up the initial hole saved me about 45 minutes work planting 20 buxus.

If you value your time at 20 p/hour, then these have already paid for themselves and will continue to be useful for planting such things as potatoes, bulbs and saplings.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI purchased these as I need to excavate 4 3 inch diameter post holes for the corners of a small greenhouse base. Every other similar tool was more than three times the price. I took a risk, attached the bits to my 16v drill and managed to excavate all the15 inch deep holes in claggy clay gravelly soil. Hard going but very successful. The secret seems to be to drill to ever increasing depths whilst not going so deep that the drill sticks. When there were difficulties, I used the smaller dia’ auger to drill a pilot hole first. All in all, a very useful tool, and no sign of it being worn out by the work done.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI read a few reviews that stated the bits to be flimsy and not deal with their soil but I found no issue at all. My soil is quite thick and clay like with multiple stones; this was no issue.

I did go steady though as I knew I had a few stones that I could hit. It can catch your wrist when using as if it hits a solid patch it will catch and the drill will twist. Cant wait to make more holes in the garden 🙂

5.0 out of 5 stars Only used once but love it.

So far, so good, hammer action needed on a min. 20 volt cordless drill.
Update : The shaft of the largest of the two auger bits twisted when it it a large stone in the soil. It was only used for roughly 10 minutes in total.

I bought this to use on my garden, which is purely clay with the odd stone, and it worked. I had to use an sds drill (with an adpater), but that is due to the “soil”. If using on a stone heavy ground I think it struggle.

Wanted to plant some bulbs in a grass verge that was heavily compacted and this tool attached to a corded electric drill did the job. Would have been easier if my drill had a side handle as if you hit a big stone It gives the drill a strong twist but that’s not a criticism of the auger. Did what wanted t a reasonable price

As someone who’s recently got into gardening with some heavy clay soil, this has been a great addition and makes planting a lot easier. Simply unwind the drill to the widest aperture, slot in, tighten and away you go.

One word of warning, the auger bit sinks into the soil super easily so if your drill is on a high setting, you may find it gets twisted by the drill when the bit is fully inserted. Otherwise it makes light work of the soil

Just used this auger to plant 50 native bluebell bulbs in shady part of back garden lawn and 30 daffodil bulbs in the sunny part. Works fine with my DeWalt 18v battery drill. Just throw bulbs over mown grass and drill holes to plant where they landed. Ideal tool for anyone transforming a lawn into a flower meadow. Just use on low revs with up and down motion to clear each hole for planting. No observable damage to auger after job done.

Never found an easier way to dig holes quickly and deeply.
A good drill is required and don’t go at it too quickly but you will soon find the best method.
Works really well even on ground thick with roots and stones. The soil it churns out is like mince, ready to be put back around bulbs, plants or just to remove for postcrete.
If you garden or need to do DIY involving post holes, you must buy this product.
For older or people who struggle to plant bulbs, the smaller auger will make it so quick and easy. Like I said, don’t push too hard quickly and you’ll soon be planting perfect bulbs in loose soil which is ideal for roots and watering.

Great idea. I saw these advertised on social media. But like I always do when I see something I like which is offering you things you don’t need at a cheap price if you order it within a few hours, I always resort to looking on Amazon or other online companies. I know I will always find it cheaper. I didn’t get the 3 drills that social media was offering but then I didn’t need the extra one. My husband used the big one to plant a couple of trees and some plants. I’d have used it myself if I didnt have a bad back. But it was a lot quicker than using a spade, like he used for the other tree we bought. He just drilled and then scooped the loose soil out into a bucket. It left a neat hole without soil everywhere and wasn’t back breaking work. I’ll be using it for smaller plants. Fantastic idea.

Was in 2 minds about these as they have gone up in price, but I guess everything has. tried using them couple of times and even though they made it through my horrible root invested compact soil, once I pulled the augur out the soil started to cave in on-itself so then I had to use the trow to dig out again. Annoying, I’m not an expert gardner but I’d say this was due to my soil and not the product, will try it again in 2022!

I planted 80 daffodil bulbs into a hard clay grass covered soil in under 60 mins using this tool. Working by hand last year I only managed 30 bulbs in the same time frame. The auger connects to your drill like a normal drill bit. Only thing to watch out for is soil splattering up on your drill. A great buy.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI had to plant 350 bulbs this season, and after doing the first 30 by hand, I have up after 2 hours.

This auger makes the job so much easier, I just used my battery powered drill and got the other 300 done in about an hour and a half.

What really matters here is your soil type. Most of us have clay soils and this made it hard for my drill (not the auger) to cope with some areas. The trick was to just move the bit up and down slowly. Luckily most of my border was tilled a few months ago so even damp clay soil was easy.

Very helpful tool, saved me loads of time and back ache. Clean it off properly and use it next year!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBrought this on a whim after seeing some of the reviews. Arrived promptly and for the price i have to say i cannot fault the quality of both Auger’s. So how did they fair, well ive just planted 80 medium sized bulbs using the smaller of the two Augers. in 40 mins doing ten holes at a time. The trick is to have a decent cordless drill here as sometimes it will bolt down like a bat out of hell and needs to be reversed out. The other trick is to put the drill on low speed and lift it up and down during the drilling stage and control the rate of decent. Much like a large wood screw given chance it will pull itself down. On the larger Auger again a slow speed is really necessary as the Augers whilst reasonably balanced do vibrate the drill and secondly due to its size strain the motor on the drill. I tried the lager one in the realised beds to turn the soil and break up the heavy clumps and was extremely impressed as the jobs takes about 30 mins and was done in around 5mins. I must also add that i used an old DeWalt 18 v cordless and that the soil has clay in it and was claggy. Additionally i am a fair sized bloke and have a grip to my stature. would i let my Mrs have a go probably not just in case the drill snapped out of her hand. But for a reasonably confident DIYer this is a no brainer and compared to putting in about the same last week did it a fraction of the time.

Had 50 bulbs to plant and didn’t fancy digging 50 holes. This made the job so easy. Glad I bought the set as the bigger one is what I needed. Looks like it should last. Smaller one does look lighter so I’d be careful with that one. Up and down motion makes the soil exit the hole better and reduces risk of damage.

The auger is a great tool for quick planting in loose soil; however it did seem to struggle a bit to penetrate any moderately firm soil. My 18V drill had difficulties holding the bit in the chuck and required frequent re tightening. The torque is significant if the bit binds and one needs to pay close attention to operating it; as a serious sprain could easily occur. Value for money with two bits is undeniable and overall it is a very useful tool if operated within reasonable expectations. A single charge managed to complete 6 full depth holes in damp but compact soil.

I had 120 box hedges to plant, and I thought they would be really useful to dig a series of holes quickly to plant the open-root mini hedges. Did the trick. Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI used the bigger one for planting bulbs along a small embankment. I drilled and people could hardly keep up. Two thing to note. First if you have a low amperage drill it will drain the battery very quickly. I ended up buying one with 4 amps and sweet! I looked at my tree stakes and I could drill a starter hole with this auger. Secondly if the ground is clay or has roots the auger can bind and twist your wrist very painfully so brace your wrist against your leg. I am really pleased especially after plant 500 bulbs, nine tree stakes and had an excuse for a new drill.

What i like about this is the fitting works into a driver and a drill driver combined units. So if you have one or the other it will work on both.
