I absolutely adore the addition of these lights to my TV. They were really easy to install & stick on and have a great selection of colours to choose from once on.

Low budget option, but seems to do the job.

But fiddly to install, I have 55″ TV but easy to figure it out and all pieces were already attached when opening the box.
    All looks good so fa

4.0 out of 5 stars Does that job on a budge

Easy to set up but be careful when clipping the two ends together as they are positive and negative polarity + – ,so it’s positive to positive and negative to negative, the symbols are tiny on the strips of LED so care must be taken. Remote works well and colour change is instant. A little planning where it’s going to be placed on the rear of TV makes the job easier.

Knocked off one star as the lights didn’t fit our 60 inch like it states, we had to get another set to fit around the full TV. However, we love these and really adds a special affect to our lounge. They are bright with tonnes of colour options. Easy and sticky

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis was so easy to set up once I’d looked at the directions. I’ve a 50″ so it meant I’ve not been able to put it right the way around. Instead opting for the upside down U shape layout.
Only drawback for me is that most of the colours seem to be really bright apart from the pink which is what I bought it for. The pink is quite subtle especially and the purple seems to be very close in colour.
With the unit being usb powered it is very easy to set up, the glow doesn’t get in the way of the picture and it adds another depth to the living room lighting.
I’ve already recommended to friends and family who have said that they look great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and cheerful!

work really well for the price . stuck straight away to my TV they get an 8 and a half out of ten . for 2 reasons
1 the sensor needs to be in view or remote doesn’t work to well and 2 they could do with been a little brighter. but there still very good can’t fault them really. that’s just my personal niggles with them

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWanted something that was decently priced which would give my living room TV some flair. Very easy to install, and very simple to use. While choice of colours can be seen as limited I’m fine with them. The brightness is excellent and the reciever for the remote is very strong, meaning it doesn’t need to be fully visible and allows for it to be hidden behind the TV. When set up from behind all the cables and LEDs stick on well and stay concealed, and don’t become an eye sore. Very happy with these!

    Brilliant!

Really delighted with this product. I have a smaller TV than fits the product description (32″, quite below the 40+ listed) and it works wonderfully – Not that the LED strip is smaller than noted, looks like it appropriately would fit that 40-60″ range advertised, I simply removed the last strip of the four and only did a ‘Z’ formation. The array of colours and settings are really great, just the basics but good bang for your buck! Totally recommend.

Cost effective and does fit smaller TVs (32"+)

This product is mostly amazing, with its bright lights and responsive remote. However, the remote also interferes with another set of lights in the same room, changing the colour of them. Also, in some areas, the lights have lots their stickiness, but the adhesive is fine in about 95% of the lights.Overall, I would recommend this product.

    Mostly good

Pleased with the results, green and blue settings match Xbox and playstation =)
Make sure you plan where you are putting them, is that gorilla glue for the adhesive tape?, Because they’ll probably not come back off. I’ve seen some comments saying they wouldn’t stick. Make sure the surface they are going on is clean and dust free. I suspect that was the problem. They light up just fine, don’t look directly into them on the highest brightness . 5/5 from me.
Just one thing. The first place I put them when I turned on the purple only two of the strips came purple, the other two were blue, I needed to move them and they got reordered along the circuit when I put them back on they were all purple. I would say wire them up and make sure this doesn’t happen before you install them, easy to do they just plug into each other and there is an empty socket at the end so you can add more. Overall nice product does exactly as advertised.

I have a two monitor setup so the 2m is only enough to go around the sides/top of them both, but works a treat. Remote control actually has decent line-of-sight, even though the receiver is hidden a bit behind one of the screens. Colours are good, and brightness is enough to see them in daylight (not direct sun, but indirect on a bright day you can still see them fine). For the price, pretty impressed.

  25. Michael Russell The Oregonian says:

Fine for the price. They’re not making the wall behind very bright, but it’s better than nothing. The area around where the power first enters the cable has come loose multiple times so i’ve had to add my own method of sticking that part to the monitor. But all the leds are working and the connectors were easy enough to install.

I can’t complain too much, I just expected it to be brighter.
A friend has a different brand that basically illuminates the room which is what I wanted but this is I guess what it is branded as, just a backlight. For some it is perfect I just wanted more light, I had to adhere it to the very edges of the TV to get what you see in the pics and at angles to make it even, had to re-do it again and the adhesive needed some duct tape after peeling off but no bother as you can’t see it. The remotez no complaints really does what it does. It’s plugged in to the TV via USB and turns off when the TV powers down, be nice to keep it lit but that’s down to the TV powering the USB down can always plug it into some other USB. Also there’s a fade mode where it slowly cycles through each colour nice and smooth but at the end of the cycle it will rapidly go back to the first which isn’t nice. Overall it’s ok but there are better options.

    It's okay

baught for 10 year old sons bedroom to go around his tv n xbox area . his tv is a 50 inch . i baught the pack suitable for this and yet the parts at the top and bottom wasnt big enough really , there is like corner pieces but yet these came to maybe 4 inches from the corner but we persevered and got it round 3 sides . if i were to do this again , i would buy 2 packs and connect them . another issue – the parts clip on to each other , 1 of these parts however was loose and someone had taped it together with selotape . the stickiness is 5* strong and sturdy and looks nice now its on his tv , was a right fiddly job .

First time buying one of these, the colour range is okay not too vibrant so I guess it depends on what you like. Definitely eases the strain on your eyes when watching TV in the evenings. Just wish the instructions were a lot better and clearer for first time users. So far so good, but haven’t used over a long period to test durability.

Nothing fancy but does what it says it does. Good brightness and range of colours, can also be dimmed and pulsed. The remote (comes with battery) is very helpful for people who don’t want to use a smartphone and app to adjust the settings. Fairly straightforward to set up but it is quite delicate so it needs a light touch while you work out where to position it. As well as the sticky hooks which come with the lights (which stick fine), I also used a couple of blobs of blu-tack to hold the strip of leds in place. The power cable is standard USB just like a mouse or keyboard. Overall, very happy and well worth the money.

There’s a major compliment from me for this product. I’ve tried several others and had no luck with the ‘cut and connect’ bit too fiddly for me. This genius has already soldered easy adjustable prices for the corners and the adhesive is 10x as good. Simple things should be made simple not complicated so I top my hat off to you. The colours are correct as well and bright! So really, I couldn’t ask more for the price they are! 10/10

Really easy to put on the tv, plugs straight into the tv with the usb so turns on automatically with it which is ideal. The remote only seems to work when you actually go over and point it to behind the TV, like the tv itself is blocking the signal. But I don’t plan on changing the colour so it’s not really an issue as it turns on and off with the tv so it’s fine.

    Simple, easy to use!

Bought this for my kids TV. Couldn’t be happier. My boys love them, they are a decent level of brightness and are easy to install. My kids TVs are smaller than the advertised recommended but I just used the 3rather than 4 in a ‘z’ pattern. Work a treat. Just make sure you are able to lay the strips in a way you want, my TV had various holes and buttons in the way to manoeuvre the strips of lights around. They work best if TV is close to a wall after applying them due to the light spreading around the TV. My boys also use as a night light, because they work when TV is on standby mode.

My main telly is a 55″ Sony 4K UHD HDR etc. etc. I recently bought a 42″ Philips model which has “Ambilight” for the conservatory and I really like it. After checking out various options I chose this 2m LED TV Backlight USB Bias Lighting with 16 Colors and 4 Dynamic Mode for 40 to 60 Inch HDTV to fit on my Sony TV. The kit arrived quickly in a surprisingly small box. The kit comprises four LED strips, which were connected together in the box and so have to be separated, the remote sensor is attached to the end of one strip, three connecting ribbon cables, four spacing brackets, USB cable and easy to follow instructions with a useful troubleshooting section. After cleaning the surface at the rear of the TV and deciding where to fit the spacing brackets for the LED strips I went ahead and fitted the strips themselves, making sure all the direction arrows were pointing in the same direction. I did have to lift one strip at the top of the TV to reposition it slightly and the adhesive backing is showing no signs of coming unstuck. I then connected the small remote sensor to a spare USB port on the TV and switched on. The remote control works perfectly even though the remote sensor is out of sight on the rear of the TV. One thing I did find though was that one of the strips was showing a different colour to the other three. I checked the troubleshooting guide and realised I had reversed the polarity of one of the strips. This was easily rectified by disconnecting the strip, turning the plug on the ribbon cable over, reconnecting it and Bingo! All working. My TV is on a stand and sits about 18″ from the wall, which is white in colour. The LEDs, even on their lowest setting still cast a pleasant hue. I prefer the ‘smooth’ dynamic setting which cycles through all available colours. This kit does not have the facility to follow the colours of the picture or the beat of music like the Philips Ambilight does. Such aftermarket kits are available which use a camera mounted on the TV, to monitor the colours on the screen and adjusts the LED’s accordingly.
I didn’t want or need that level of funcionality. I love the simplicity of this kit and the pleasing results it gives. For less than a tenner, I think this is a no brainer upgrade.

Good product, adhesive lasting for 3 months so far. The remote is a bit basic and plasticky. Lights are amazingly bright but gets the job done. Very easy to set up too, just make sure you plan it out before you’d tart sticking it down.

I love this product. It works perfectly, power being supplied from the USB on the rear of the TV. Comes on with the TV and goes off with it if you leave it on via the remote. Colours are great but depending on your wall colour will depend which you choose. I tend to pick one and leave it alone. Take some time to get it fitted equally over the back and sides. If you don’t, the light will produce patches and not look great. Two things with regards to the remote sensor. Firstly, placing it so it’s not under tension with the power cable is required. Just get it so it naturally sits flat on the rear of the TV. If not, the adhesive let’s go after a few hours on this part, the rest remains fine though. If you set it so it sits flat, it stays stuck. Secondly, you don’t have to have the sensor showing below the TV. I tested this before I fitted it. I thought it would look naff with that showing but I need not have worried, it works fine with the remote. The colour is not adaptive. You set a colour and it says that colour. It does not change with the TV picture like some standard features of some TVs. I know it may be obvious but just to confirm that.

Great value for money! Easy to set up and really bright. The remote was easy to navigate and well labelled. It provides a few light changing options to change settings.

The adhesive was a pain, sticking on but I think its because it comes rolled. It took some playing around with but not long. However, once stuck on it went on well.

It creates a great ambiance watching films and listening to music.

This fitted on my 55″ TV fine, no issues so far, but very disappointed i have no lighting at the bottom. My fault for not double checking all the blurb and images, but I went by the fact that it says it will work with my TV. Now ill have to buy a second set just to use one strip.
Besides all that, I’m very happy so far. All works as expected, goes on and off with my TV, providing ive used the remote to put it in to on mode. With the control box behind the TV the remote cant be used from a seating position, i have to stand to one side of it, but all i want is a soft blue glow anyway, so its really a one time sets and forget.

Love these am so thrilled & I’ll be definitely be purchasing more. Easy to install, nothing complicated, adhesion seems to be good even when I had to peel off one & realign as I’d placed it a little too high so it could be seen top of tv, was able to remove replace & it re-stuck. I just love them lovely bright colours, great remote with lots of options, I like the smooth option where the smoothly change through the colour options. Photos I’ve attached show the vividness of the colours in static mode. Just all round great. A friend & myself watched old music videos & ended up dancing the night away it was like being in a disco, love them, watched a movie with a nice static background & worked well too. I like the colours vivid but you can dumb down too to make more subtle which I’ve not tried.

    Lovely & Brigh

But the results are very good.
My TV is mounted on the wall and so adhering the product as suggested in the instructions was not going to happen because the bracket is in the way.

For the price I wasn’t really expecting much, but they’re way better than expected. They come as 4 x 50cm strips with adhesive backing and small connectors to connect the different strips together, and ultimately into the USB connector.

Took a few minutes to work out the best arrangement for my 27″ monitor, but once fixed they work really well. As they’re USB powered they turn off when the monitor is turned off and they come back on in the same colour when they went off.

    Brilliant produc

It arrived in a tiny box, it was easy to install and worked as soon as I switched on the TV. The good features are the fact that it remembers the last setting (set via the device remote control) when the TV is turned back on and that it stays on for about 15 seconds after the TV is turned off which gives me a chance to leave the room before it goes dark.

I was very pleased with the performance and the value for money. I have recommended this to my siblings for purchase and I recommend it to you.

These lights are easy to install, they stuck onto my 55″ tele really well & they are nice and bright. The only fault is that 1 of the 4 strips does not work in the same way as the other 3 and when I set them to Green, that 1 strip glows Red. Apart from that, all other colours work well. These lights are good value for money and it’s very handy having the remote rather than downloading an app to my phone.

I used two of these on a 55″ TV.

Start from your TV’s USB socket and plug it in, then work up one side, near the edge, across the top of the TV and then down the other side. That would probably have been enough but I then decided to buy a second pack and then carry on the lighting along the bottom too.

When the TV comes on the USB is powered and that powers the lighting, turn off the TV and the lights go off. I put the light onto white and full brightness. The white is slightly off white but close enough.

I’ve not changed the colours or brightness since it is fine as it is.

These lights are great. They were easy to install and very good quality.

I managed to fit them without removing my tv from the wall. I initially stuck them down loosely to give me an idea of positioning and them stuck them down firmly, when I was sure of the positioning. So far they seem stuck solidly. There was ample enough strips to give good coverage of the sides and top of my 50″ TV.

Once installed the effect is fantastic. They are nice and bright and the supplied remote is nice and straightforward to use. There’s a large array of colours and transitional colour effects.
I’m very glad I purchased them and the price is great value too.

This purchase was an accident, I left my phone within reach of my 5 year old girl.

And as I was told by my girl, after i had asked her if she had bought it, Dad i like pink, and i want a pink TV.

Well she now has a pink TV the living room is awash with a range of colours, the better for it I say. Good product, easy fit and simple instructions.

Pro tip, watch the attached video and read the instruction manual it has detailed diagrams on how to fit these strips to your TV size.

Easy to apply.the length given Fits on 3 sides of 55inch TV(1 each vertical side and 2 strips needed running horizontally )
I fitted mine in my usb 3.0 connection behind TV as it offers more voltage for max brightness of these the picture shown was at night at max brightness. I tested this on I phone charger and can confirm the max brightness of each colour was increased by about 20 per cent.

The lights come on when your TV is on and turn off even when on standby mode and remembers your last light setting. Has different light modes and the remote is ugly functional and is kept hidden as I don’t change the colour often.

Has the choice of multiple RGB colour options.

Has been up for a couple weeks now and so far so good have left TV running every day for several hours.

My tip would be to apply at night and before sticking use blue tac and play about with how far you want lights to TV perimeter to control how much light bleed you want. In the picture above attached the lights about 6cm from edges. This will depend on the back colour of your TV(mines silver so more reflective ) and the colour of wall and the distance from wall. I am fussy

Does the job well at a great price

Cheap and cheerful. You can string multiple together. I have these on the back of my three monitors to provide back lighting. Cable designed assuming the monitor has a USB power socket. If yours doesn’t you may well need a usb extension cable to get near to a power source.

One good feature – buying multiple of these and plugging them in separately – you can drive them all fro. A single remote control. Very handy. Remote has very limited range (6 inches in my experience).

Lots of great presets on the remote to play with.

The strips go from edge to edge on my LG C9 TV. The strips are very lightweight compared to the old/waterproof black strips other brands offer, which means they stick on well. They also provide support clips to prevent they coming off.

I didn’t apply the 4th strip at the bottom as my TV is not wall mounted and it resulted in the strips being brighter (the more LEDs you have, the lesser the brightness, due to only being 5V from USB.)

The remote is very basic though… so colour variations are very limited, but that’s not a problem for me.

    Would buy again.

    Perfect for 65" TV

The main reason I bought these was because I generally do a lot of gaming in the dark and I read online that having a low level light behind the monitor can reduce eye strain. It also helps that it makes my computer room look really cool!

One thing I would recommend is that although the length covers my ultrawide monitor I could have done with a soldering iron so I could cut and customise the length a little better. I had to get a little inventive to make it work but it does still look cool. I would advise that you plan how it will stick before you stick it as the adhesion is quite strong and if you attempt to pull it off again there is a high change you will pull the backing from the light!

Have a 40″ Sony Bravia but was disappointed to discover that the combination of two of the four LED sections overlapped the screen top edge by 2-4 inches and so had to resort to the four strips all being placed centrally from top to bottom. Although the illumination is good it is not as effective were it possible to place one either side: top to bottom and two across the top. This would have given a more even spread of light around the picture area, instead of centrally placed illumination. Other than that, a doddle to set up: quality, packaging & manufacture appears to be very good. This has certainly replaced a low wattage lamp that was off set to the screen to relieve eye strain over long periods.

Wasn’t sure about these or if it’d be tacky but for only 10 it was worth a punt.
Couple of friends have them and recommended them and bit the bullet.
Very impressed with the results I must say, eases eye strain, especially when using the TV for gaming in the evenings.
Got them for our 48inch 4K LG TV that sits in our living room which is used for watching Netflix, bits of normal TV and gaming.
Fitting was simple and easy, I didn’t even particularly need the instructions. Plugged into one of the USB ports on the TV and stuff the strips around the three outer edges, excluded the bottom.
These are effectively the same type of kids you can pick up from all over the place now that come with an RGB remote control, with dimmer and various fading functions, just handy it all comes in a a nice little box.
Overall highly recommend for this price point. May at some stage invest in an adaptive kit for more money but this is perfect for what it does.

Considering the cheap price, the lights are very bright, no need for a lamp or main light, a few candles and the mood is set!

I have a 42″ LG, unfortunately the back of my tv has a silky feel to it, so the adhesive isn’t the best, however, the smaller adhesive add ons have made it all stick perfectly.

Remote Control; like other reviews I have read, it’s not the greatest, in terms of picking up your single, you have to press the buttons quite hard in order for it change, but like I said, you get what you pay for!

Other than that, I love my new LEDs and I think you will too!

    BRIGHT lights, considering the price

Was really surprised when I found the box inside all my other boxes, this package is super small compared to what I was expecting. Be careful when you open it as all the stuff just fell out and slapped onto my desk. Was okay luckily and they work well seem way more resistant to bends then my last strips. Can plug the usb right into your Xbox or PC instead of TV. Works great and yes you can cut them along the dotted line, I had too myself so I confirm. Adhesive is strong I suggests place some weak duck tape down underneath so you can easily peel it off if you ever decide to get rid of them 🙂

I wanted a little something to lighten one side/wall of my room up and I thought that some LED lights to plug into and use around my TV would be an easy way to do it, and I was right! These lights were super simple to use.

The main thing I wanted when buying some of these lights was for there to be plenty of different colour and brightness options and these have loads, and the remote works really well to switch between all of the different settings and colours nice and easily.

Separating the strip into each piece to move them around was really easy to do, too, they just slide out and can easily be put back in again to make extending or shortening a really quick task.

The colours are nice and bright (or not, if you dim them using the remote) and the light that’s given off is really pleasant and soft, not too cold or in your face feeling (though this might depend on your room’s decor/colour scheme of course!), which was another main thing I was worried about before buying.

I really like these lights and recommend them.

Super easy to use with plenty of customization colour/brightness options.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersArrived in 24 hours with prime. Packaged well and small enough to fit through a letterbox if you’re out.

For others information initially the four LED strips are joined together in one roll but they seperate easily.

I started by plugging in the USB cable to the TV which has an AC/DC cable at the other end then attached the main LED strip which is where the AC/DC pin attaches into then placed the final three LED strips around the TV. For informative purposes my TV is 49″ and the LED strips were adequate size wise. I cannot confirm for other sizes perhaps other reviews can help with that.

Strips are nice and thin on a white backing strip. Adhesion so far seems fine. However from past experience the heating up of the rear of the TV can cause the adhesive to become less effective but for now, day one no issues.

LED’s are nice and bright absolutely no complaints there. The glow coming from them reflected on the wall behind is very soothing and not overwhelming.

The remote is nice one of the nicer ones I have and I have quite a collection gathering now. It’s very responsive and works well. None of the available functions aren’t working or responding. It should be noted that brightness control only works when you have picked one static colour and it works well. Brightness cannot be increased or decreased when on smooth, fade, strobe or flash unfortunately.

This is a far better set than the previous set I bought which developed not one but two faults eights months into use and are now fit for the bin as neither the seller or Amazon are willing to enforce the one year guarantee offered with them and this is why I purchased this set. I wish I’d purchased these in the first place everything about them is much better. I appreciate it’s just day one but I’m happy and hopeful. I certainly give my seal of approval and I’m a very fussy consumer.

Purchased this product to use as a backlight to my gaming monitors. I do not like having the main light on as it creates glare. The ambient lighting these create is great. I have two 27″ monitors on a black glass desk in front of a cream wall. The light bounces off the wall and desk nicely without creating any glare. Combining these LED backlights with a lamp in the opposite corner of the room creates just the right amount of light so my keyboard is still visible and doesn’t give me eye strain during long sessions.
The choice of colours are great and so are the differing effects at your disposal.
The only negative is applying the product as the strips are in 4 rows of 50cm so navigating round the corner of the monitor requires a little bit of fiddling.

Product arrived on time with instructions. The print on the instructions are very small I have to ask my daughter to read it for me.
The lighting isn’t as bright as in the pictures.
I followed the instructions carefully but had to take out one join as no matter what way I put it it didn’t work from that point on even when I swopped it around same result. So quality control let that one through. I had to put in a new battery as the one that came was flat. Again quality control let that one through. I also used a but more glue after the problems with a faulty connector the stickies to hold the lighting had warn.
The item its self is nice but be prepared to do a bit of jiggery pokery because of quality control not doing there job properly.

Couldn’t decide on 3 or 4 *s. This was because out of the box and putting everything together was straightforward and no issues. The problem I had was that certain LEDs didn’t work or I had random light combinations. Only true colours and line that worked was G button and blue line. Others are a random mix. I checked everything from USB connections to the wiring and all was fine and same result.

I informed the CS and Shineline and they got back to me instantly, I told them all the faults and every LED/combinations issue and they have now sent me out a new replacement which will arrive in a few days. Not only this, I actually only opened and used this product 1 or so months after delivery and they still replaced which is great. So for that, I thank them and give them an extra *.

P.s. Saying that, they are at the cheaper end, so you do get what you pay for but I think they look great once the room gets darker and do the job just fine.

I didn’t really know what to expect from one of these LED TV lights but I’m glad I purchased one. I’m not one for fad’s or buying something because everyone else has one however I wanted something to enhance the TV as I’ve seen a few pictures/videos here and there and the lights seemed interesting. Well, having a nice blue, red or even purple light around the TV when the lights are off and watching any show I feel sometimes enhances the viewing experience. I had only purchased this as I thought it could be turned on whilst the TV was off. That was my main reason however as the USB is plugged into the TV the lights turn off when the TV is off.

The colour options are favourable and the options of changing lights automatically isn’t my cup of tea however nice to have the option. The wall behind my TV is a cream/Egg shell colour but the LED’s stand out brilliantly.

I’ve peeled off two of the sides (after a fair few months) as I had not aligned them perfectly to my liking and I’m happy to see that the lights have stuck down again with no issue.

    Overall I would purchase again.

I fancied trying some bias lighting for my TV. I bought this set from Amazon. I’ve seen some people saying that the lights never stick to the back of the TV for a long time and that it’s best to have them face at a 45degree angle facing out and up/sideways, so I bought some angled wood, chopped it up, made an outward facing frame and duct-taped the lighting strips to it. You can see my process in the photos. The lights would never have stuck to the back of my TV as it has a ribbed/wavy contour texture. Besides, by hanging the frame using a couple of bits of wire suspended from the top air-vents I can always remove this setup with no permanent damage. The lights are perfectly bright enough for my needs, they are approx 25 cms away from the wall. (the photo possibly doesn’t convey the brightness as they’re set low and the image on screen is very bright). Darker scenes on TV now look so much clearer. They’re plugged into the USB of the TV and come on in the previous setting when the TV is turned on out of standby. I’m absolutely chuffed to bits how good it looks.

Brilliant lights if set up well.

I looked at several of these on Amazon. This one was much cheaper than some but thought I would have a punt and get this.

Arrived next day on Prime and installed the same day. It comes with a dinky remote with lots of coloured buttons, all of which are easily read and understood. You can change the colours with the remote quite easily. You have to position part of it just slightly hanging out from under the TV to get a good signal for the remote.

Colours are remembered when you switch the TV back on. I bought the 2 metre one for a 47 inch TV and it’s a perfect fit, top and sides. You would need a longer one if you want to do the bottom too.

I thought my wife woud think it was tacky but she says it does seem to make a difference. On my TV which is a bout 10 years old it has a visible bezzle so the only downside is that it makes the bezel stand out more.

I love this kit, it seems good quality, comes with connectors for going round corners and lots of sticky pads to stick it all onto the TV.

All in all, I’ve given it 5 stars which is rare for me. I can’t find any fault with it. A great purchase.

Fitted to the TV in literally 5 minutes.

I first thought that it didn’t switch off when you switch the TV off so I used the remote to switch it off but later realised that it obviously uses up the residual power in it for about 30 seconds after turning the TV off, and then switches off.

Bought this instead of the other more expensive solutions available (e.g. from Phillips, which unfortunately required an expensive hub, thus putting me off the solution knowing these LED lights cost peanuts).
Came in a very small package, was surprised. A touch fiddly to install connecting the items together, but this was because of my own environment and unique ergonomics
Works like a charm, I cycle the colours and they produce a cinematic drama that absolutely compliments my environment, just creating enough illumination for me to see items around the desk better at night.
For me the “SMOOTH”cyclic setting works best
Although I notice it doesn’t feel like it holds the red colour as long as the others, but this may just be about the proximity of adjacent related colours in the units colour cycle Mode Im using

Overall very satisfied & happy I didn’t get fooled into spending more than necessary for what really is low cost mass produced LED light strips.

    Excellent Effec

These lights are really cool. I was looking at some others three times the price but thought I’d give these a go first in case I didn’t like the idea of back lighting or they didn’t work with my TV for some reason. Well I’m glad I got these as so far they’ve been great. They get good comments whenever anyone sees them and I really like the ambiance they create. I have a 50 inch TV and opted to wrap the lights around the edges of the TV. These lights do not cover all 4 sides if your TV is 50 inch. It will comfortably mange 3 sides though so I opted for the top and both sides. I have however purchased a second set and linked them together with the first set to make the chain longer. This hasn’t caused any problems and I now have all 4 sides lit up. I’ve also been left with two more strips and another control unit to do something with, which is a nice bonus.

Very good quality LEDs. Strips stick perfectly to TV with no issues and love the brandy connector so you can separate the strip in certain points!

One problem is the remote. It sometimes works but I have to find my self going behind the TV to change the colour, it does say that the remote needs line of sight but that is kinda hard when the sensor is connected right at the end of the LED strip meaning it has to be behind the TV with the strip :S

Looks lovely behind the built in tv. Easy to stick on and effective. We did have trouble initially with the being on when the tv wasn’t but the instructions sorted that out and we also found that you have to be within a metre of them to use the remote. The colours are nice though and the fade option. For the money you cannot complain compared to certain high street retailers selling remotes and rolls at 40 to 50 pounds…We will take this any day of the week. Just hope they stand the test of time

I bought these to light up a corner display cabinet as I thought it looked dark inside and needed lighting. I decided on these as they would be more interesting than plain white. Super easy to install and bright. The sensor to turn on/off/change colours is infrared, so you need to be able to see it when using the remote, expected this. 16 colours available including plain white or 4 different flash/fade effects. On a static colour the brightness can be changed, very useful and they are overall excellent quality. The lights are equally bright on every setting and colour and don’t flicker. They come with an installation guide and further tape if the stuff already stuck to it isn’t good enough. Both weren’t necessary for me. The lead is a little short, but the right size for its intended purpose, but this was easily rectified with the usb extension I ordered with it. Excellent quality and an excellent price, getting another.

Didn't use on TV, still perfect for purpose.

First time ever buying something like this so wanted something cheap just to see if it’s worth it.
The box the kit came in was super small and light, the instructions were clear and as you can see from my pic it was easier for me to lay this out in the floor so I can make sure it was correct before attaching to my tv.
I have a 42″ tv and I attached the strips in lines as per the instruction as they wouldn’t fit in the ‘frame’ shape. Everything connects easy, the only downside I found was the glue isn’t that great and there is some slight lifting on some strips but it has remained in place since installation and I love it. On the remote you can have different colours selected static or they will pulse and change colour. For the price I think it’s awesome and would love to do more!

    Great value for money.

I got these lights for my living room 55″ tv. It is so easy to install and stick on. The only thing is, one set of my lights don’t work properly. I don’t know if this is a faulty wire or what not as it still lights up with some colours but not all. It also doesn’t go to the colour I want it to it basically does what it wants other that this, a great set of lights, super easy to install and they look fab on my tv! Abs in love with them

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersReally impressed with these LED strip lights! Out the box they look abit cheap (for the price though what do you expect) however once fitted and working they are brilliant. Word of advice on fitting, don’t struggle trying to stick these to the back of your TV without moving the TV first. I unplugged everything and turn the TV around first so I could properly see what I was looking at. Another helpful tip is use some masking tape and cut some lengths 50cm long and plan out where your strips will fit and go before sticking them down. They are a bitch to unstick and wreck the sticky pads on the back. I found many bumps and lumps in the back of my TV that changed my plans on where I ended up fitting them. The LIght strips themselves can only be fitted in straight lines vertical or horizontal, any curling around bends are done with the flexible joining strips that are provided in the box (3 in total). The sticky back plastic is 3M tape so surprisingly decent. The remote works well although looks cheap and nasty. Check my photos to see the output and layout I eventually settled on, this is a 49″ TV and I wasn’t able to fit them around the perimeter of the screen with just one box of these to give an even glow of light. Probably could be done with two boxes. The best thing being powered via the USB port on the TV, is they turn on and off with your TV remote and it also remembers the colour setting and brightness so if you are happy with one colour you can set it and put the LED light remote in the draw out of sight.

    Great Item! Pictures Attached

Golden Review Award: 51 From Our UsersI never thought I’d a) be interested and b) actually purchase such addition to my tv. I’m so glad I did!
It looks really good, gives a cosy feel in the evening.
The installation was quick and I did it without taking the tv off the wall.
I have a 49 inch tv and I installed one strip on each side and two (making one long strip) on the top. I think it was recommend for bigger (55″+), but it gave me the ideal set up.
Please note these are easily expandable, so if I wanted to add a strip on the bottom – I can just buy another set and add them easily.
Please make sure you plan where to stick the strips, as one of them needs to be plugged into the usb port on your tv.
The remote works as expected. It’s tiny, simple to use. I do recommend this product.

It did improve my films-watching experience

I purchased these to use the white lights rather than any other color. To get to the white light you have to use the remote control (which is easy) however all colors seem fine except for the white lights. I purchased two strips and both flicker once I set it to white light. And after that even all other colors start flickering until you switch the light strips off and restart. In my case I only noticed the flickering after sticking the strips to the kithen cabinets 🙁
    EDIT:
turns out they can work without the flickering but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. Tested the lights by plugging them into a laptop rather than direct power plug and the flickering stopped.

Golden Review Award: 116 From Our UsersI was considering picking up either a Philips Hue Lightstrip or Innr Flex but realised I didn’t really need a ‘connected’ LED strip. Came across this by chance and as it’s USB-powered, it simply turns on and off with my TV, which is exactly what I need. If I decide I want on/off voice capabilities, I figure I can always plug it into a USB wall adaptor, which in turn is plugged into an Alexa-compatible smart plug. As it is, just having it on or off with the TV is fine.

There’s also a remote control for changing the colours, deciding how the colours appear (e.g. strobing or fading) as well as turning it on or off, so I don’t feel like I miss any of the connectivity of a more expensive Hue. The colours are great, with lots of shades to help match what you’re watching. Lighting is evenly distributed, too.

Installation couldn’t be any easier, and I followed the recommended installation for a 55-inch TV by having a strip across the side, two across the horizontal, and the fourth down the other side. It’s probably worth splitting the two horizontal strips with the connector so the lighting reaches the corners, however (You can see in my photo it’s not quite even at the corners, which I’m going to fix). I’ve found I’ve been able to detach and re-attach the strips without any problems and the adhesive is great.

All in all, great value and performance for the money and saved me a lot of cash over my initial plan of a Hue or Innr LED strip.

    Stonkingly good value alternative

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis product is easy to install and operate and adds a nice ambiance to wherever it’s used. I bought these for my previous tv to backlight it taking a gamble (they’re $10, so it’s not big loss if you don’t like it) and I love it. It adds a great enhancement and it’s not distracting at all. That set recently went out and after getting a new one it drove me crazy for the week or so I didn’t have the backlights.

Installation is quick and easy. I’d recommend plugging in the USB and then applying the light strip so you don’t get too far away from the port. The light strips are applied via 3M tape and it is sticky enough to fit and lift and center a time or two before pressing it down all the way. Good part of installing these though, at least in seemingly most cases and mine, is it’s going on the back of or is hidden so it doesn’t need to be perfectly straight to get quality light output.

These strips are able to be shortened or extended in approximate 12″ sections with pin/plug sections and connected to additional strips for longer applications. The kits come with 3″ extension connectors for use in turning your strips down a tight corner, i.e. going from the side to top of a tv on a right angle.

The remotes included are universal to any kit of these lights. I ordered two as I got a larger tv and both operate it as well as the old kit remote does. It includes 4 different lighting modes, dimmer/brightener, an array of color selection and custom colors.

The only reason for my 4-star rating is that unless you unplug the USB, when the power source is off (unless that itself is unplugged too) the lights will sporadically flicker on and off. Not a big deal but it’s distracting on occasion. I’d honestly give these a 4.8.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought these LED lights for a DIY 3D printer enclosure that I’ve made. I needed lighting inside for when I use a program that uses a webcam for remote controlling of the printer.

This wasn’t the first set of lights that I had bought as I had previously bought a strip of LED lights, but these were battery powered and I was going through a lot of batteries that it was becoming costly. Also, the first set was just in one strip and this meant that I was unable to position them as I wanted.

Even though these lights are advertised for backlighting a TV, I’ve been able to use them attached to the roof of my enclosure and as can be seen in the photos, they give off an excellent amount of light. Also, as they are USB powered, there’s no more changing batteries after a few hours. The strips have 3M tape on the back and it’s fixed to the wood perfectly (surface prepped with alcohol wipe first) and so far, there’s been no lifting on any of the strips. An added bonus is that the lights come in four separate strips with three connectors which allow you to have perfect 90 angles or in my case 180 turns.

These are great lights and I would recommend them to anyone looking for LED strip lights of internal use. I say internal use as the strip isn’t encased in rubber/plastic like others.

If you found this review helpful, can you please help me by clicking on the helpful button. Thanks

hey give off an excellent amount of ligh

As stated in one of the other reviews – this will NOT fit bigger TVs using the recommended configuration.
I have a 55″ TV and there is no way I can put the strips around the edge (or close to it). I was barely able to put it around the TV except the bottom part. The LED strips are 48cm long, we have 4 of them in the box, and some 3 short connections to be used on corners.
How on earth they want to use it for 55″ TV? I think one needs at least two packs to attach to a big TV to have the recommended config.
Still I think the product is ok.

Great quality lights. Very robust and adhesive is brilliant. Remote is fairly easy to use and sensor is sensitive enough for my needs. Instructions are quite clear and well laid out. Packaging was good and not excessive.

It’s not switching off and on with my TV, but perhaps that’s a problem with my TV. It’s a bit annoying but not a huge deal as I can of course use the remote.

However, the template appears to be inaccurate. I have a 49 inch tv and using their template, there wasn’t nearly enough strip to go round. I ended up having to remove it and move it about 3 or 4 times before I could get a decent configuration!

This means that not only does that shorten the life of the adhesive, but the spread of light isn’t even and there’s a dark area on the side of the tv that is really bugging me 🙁

I’m a bit underwhelmed with how it looks right now, it doesn’t seem very bright. However, it is daytime right now, so I’ll try to remember to update this review when it gets dark outside.

If you can buy extra strips that might remedy the problem.

Very good quality but template doesn’t seem to work

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersIt worked straight out of the box, bright and looks pretty. There are somethings that should be considered before buying this. Not all TVs are flat in the backside, some have edges, groves, location of HDMI slots all around. On such cases, it becomes a bit tricky to install the lights. I would be surprised to have this installed where the remote receiver can receive the signal, few feet from the TV. That means, I always have to go behind the TV and point the remote control towards receiver to make any changes. Lastly, if you have only one USB port in the TV and use an USB hub to power more than one USB device, like USB keyboard, mouse, or an external hard drive, then the TV gets confused with this light because it takes power from the USB unlike wireless keyboard or mouse.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWhat I think:
    – Remote as expected. Fairly lightweight, nothing too special about it.
    – I purchased two boxes. Both arrived in condition, no significant problems.
    – The maximum brightness achieved with these strips are not amazing for what people usually expect. It does the job, but there is room for improvement on brightness. You will not be able to see the light from strips in your bedroom with the ceiling light on.
    – Colour seems fine; but would be improved with brightness as explained above.
    – Instructions are fine, although make sure to read them first because I have not installed them optimally!
    – Delivered for free and quickly with two boxes.

After twenty minutes of searching, this seemed to be the best value for money product I could find – and although the brightness let it down slightly, I believe it to be of similar quality to other products that are less than 15.
