I am pleased about this camera for outdoor use. It is easy to install it outside my front door just simply following the instructions. The pictures and videos are very clear, I can see clearly what exact happens outside my door. The night vision is also great. It is waterproof which is wonderful for bad weather in my city. It is easy to detect everything there. The price is nice comparing with other brands. I am happy about this camera.

Very pleased with the HD camera. It can have a two-way conversation. When I’m not home, if a driver delivers a package, I can tell them to put it in a safe place, which is very convenient for both of us. I watch the surveillance video at night as well as during the day. It’s pretty clear. Although the price is a little expensive, the quality is really very good.

I’ve just installed the outdoor camera in my front drive and it has amazing field view with surprisingly good quality video capture. I love that it also has micro SD storage to save footage. Really easy to use with my smartphone. For the price, I would highly recommend.

    High quality video capture!

I wanted something simple and easy to view remotely on an app and this fits the bill.

    It was easy to setup.
Video quality good, excellent views with the flexibility of angle,
loads of configuration options such as night vision, recording light, sensitive sensor.
Most importantly , it’s water and snow proof!

I buy this security camera to install at my front door in my house. I like it very much. Very easy to install. The images are very clear, as well as night vision. I can see clearly what happens around my house. It is waterproof. I do not worry about the weather rain or wind. The price is nice. The quality looks great. I do like this camera very much.

I like the camera mainly because of the App. I’ve tried a few other brands and this one has a very easy to use app compared to those. Picture quality is very good, extremely easy to set up and use. The cloud service works great for a good price and it also takes a micro SD card so you review video from anywhere. The alarm function will save you short clip and notify you of movement in your notifications or by email. I have camera in two locations and can view them on one app at the same time.

Bought this PTZ outdoor camera for upgrading. This security IP dome camera with auto-tracking, 20x optical zoom with IR night version detection, it is IP66 waterproof. I m very pleased with 2 things about this product, first the installation is much easier and convenient bcoz it is only use one single cable for powering and data transmission, much better than my old ones. Second the view angle is best thing 360 any corner any where surroundings of my house I can view, that’s excellent. Also I can view through web browsers or mobile apps, I uses iSpy for mine, the motion alert function is very accurate and useful. I definitely recommended especially holiday or Home away time it helps you secure your home.

    Brilliant dome 360° security camera

Very nice camera for the price. An earlier purchase of this same model lasted more than a year under heavy use, had only a minor malfunction. This replacement is actually superior, 360 degree rotation rather than 355, and the same excellent optics.

When seeking a preset the cam tends to stop just before reaching the exact preset position. If moving in from the left, it stops just left of the preset. Moving in from the right, it halts a bit to the right. Etc. This could be an issue, perhaps, if moving in on a preset from random directions at full zoom. In my case it’s a non-issue.

For a builders yard we needed some form of monitoring system that allows us to follow and record anything moving within the yard. This camera is mounted on a telegraph pole on the corner of the yard giving a spanning view of both the entrance gate and the inside of the yard.

Setup was straightforward, we have it powered through a POE injector switch then into our NVR which has other cameras on, in order to avoid any additional wires, which are then armoured and connected straight onto the camera to avoid any tampering, it’s also placed high enough to avoid anyone getting to it without some form of equipment, anything to make it harder.

The camera rotates all the way round if needed although that would be filming the pole if we did, but then it also has a full range of movement up and down, so when tracking it can follow to any point of the yard or entrance.

We can then access the video both through a direct screen on our NVR or of course on the app that is setup on our NVR, this is something you would need in order to view it unless you had it connected to your PC of course.

For the level of quality on the video you really can’t beat this, just make sure you have the ability to record that high a level of video.

Impressed with it overall. It has a decent range and is providing the back area of my house along with the side alleyway with CCTV coverage. It is PTZ so has the full range of pan, tilt and zoom functionality. The range on it is very impressive as is the 20x optical zoom. It has impressive night vision as well.

Via the app, alarm notifications and emails alerts can be sent when motion is detected. It all works very well and I am impressed with it.

    A very good standard

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI needed an IP camera with a good zoom range with higher than 1080P resolution and found this. I’ve owned over 6 IP cameras with most being PTZ, Upon opening the package it comes with:

    The camera
    Screws
    POE Injector + power cable
    Ethernet cable
    Booklet for help

    PROS:

Insane level of zoom, Onpar or surpases my DSLR zoom lens even, Honestly one of the best features of this camera! Check the video I posted, considering this was a very windy day, Truly next level.

Incredible night vision, I have a 100M+ Garden & this lights ALL of it up flawlessly, It even swaps between different IR LEDS when zoomed in, Never seen a camera have better night vision than this.

PTZ Speed & accuracy, Honestly this is often overlooked. But the motor accuracy and speed is excellent, For tiny movement or fast quick movement it behaves perfectly.

Excellent preset control! You’re able to do both zoom & positioning presents flawlessly, Zoomed fully into a mountain side & wide open close range, Zooms & moves at the same time, best I’ve seen.

Build quality is excellent, metal & seems premium.

VERY easy setup, Took me 2 minutes.. ONVIF protocaul makes it totally compatible with blueiris or other programs, Seriously 2 minutes to setup, plus is POE so only needs a single cable.

Resolution is excellent & much better than standard 1080P models.

    CONS:

Even fully zoomed out the lens is more narrow than standard cameras, But considering its PTZ this isn’t a major issue.

Auto tracking while good I feel its more of a gimmic and I turned mine off.

Size of camera, it’s a big camera! So for more concealed or stealthy applications it may not be the best option.

Overall it’s the best camera I’ve purchased & well worth the cost I paid, Recommended!

Incredible zoom, Clarity & night visio

Having installed a CCTV camera system for a few of my family members and a neighbour, I am now a dab hand with setting these up. This pan, tilt and zoom security camera was bought for the office as it is more suitable for work environment. It is a professional standard CCTV camera. Solid and robust build quality and it is total weather proof. The resolution and 5MP picture quality of the unit is as good as you will ever need. The viewing angle is great. It has 20 X zoom with clear infrared night vision to enhance your security and safety.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGot it fitted to my garage to “patrol” the space from left to right. I have it connected to existing POE receiver with good power output and the camera works perfectly with all options. Motor is good and almost silence when it moves the head of the camera, biggest thing though is the optical zoom, not many cameras for this price would have such impressive zoom to be honest. So basically full compatibility with other recorder, works great with POE and have really good zoom, definitely 5 stars from me.

This is the second PTZ camera that I bought and I’m somewhat satisfied with this camera. This camera worked with my WESECUU NVR and XMEye App. My problem with this camera is the lack of Tracking and my inability to activate the Patrol feature due to compatibility issue with my NVR.Otherwise, nice picture day or night and the zoom function is excellent.

Bought another unit to add to my cameras, found out when i received the new one the audio is integrated onto the rj45 network instead of separate audio cables. (BONUS!) Originally was not expecting sound just liked the 20x night vision and clear picture.

After a couple months of constant use ,ect the POE board had an issue & unit wouldn’t power up POE option, but would power up with the power adapter, Got in contact with the makers and they not only met but exceeded my repair expectations and had me back up and running within 48 hours or so..

I have 4 of these now, 3 being the older model with separate audio, but picture quality and the 20x zoom sell it for the price & now the audio is integrated its defiantly with the price.

Video included was using ISPY – Agent DVR software with the cameras, works at home and on the road! Also as you can see it is within line of the 5 star system, night vision, motion detection used and the picture quality all right there.. If you always been thinking of a PTZ camera, this is the one you want to try!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have installed cctv systems for years. This camera should cost $400 more. I’m not kidding. The resolution and quality of the unit was amazing.
BUT, if you want more than one of these babies on the same system- I ran into an issue. For some reason, the dvrnvr gets confused and keeps alternating between the two cameras rather than assigning a unique channel or recognizing the unique assigned IP address to each. And, before you ask, I am well versed in network management, port opening and IP address assignments. Bottom line- more than one of these cams and they will not play well together on the same network/cctv system. (I’m using a Lorex 12 ch manufactured 2020)

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI needed a PTZ camera with far more zoom than the 4K lorex cameras that came with my NVR. They produce excellent video but just don’t have the far out zoom I was looking for. Could not afford the really nice 4K PTZ Lorex model at over $1,000. Lorex also offers a 2K model at over $400 but the JideTech camera was almost half the cost so I took a chance and ordered one. It arrived in a few days. Inner packaging was a bit torn up so I was worried this might have been a returned item. I went ahead and tested it in my office near the NVR to check functionality before installing outside.

It did take me awhile to get it to work but this was not the fault of JideTech camera. Once I had the camera on my network the NVR detected it no problem and I was able to go through simple add to recording devices process. Camera would display video for maybe 10 seconds then for some reason the NVR would change what it thought the new camera IP address was to some other device on the network. The JideTech camera remained at the address it was set to and would display video fine through IE active X but NVR went looking for it somewhere else. I finally tried doing manual add device in the NVR rather than letting it detect the camera. Had to set IP, OnVIF protocol, port number, etc. It has been rock solid now for the past week. I’ve cycled power to make sure settings remained and it just reconnects when power is reapplied. Finally hung on my garage today. Used a PoE power injector rather than 12V DC adapter provided with the camera. I posted a photo of standard 4K lorex at max zoom and the JideTech at near max zoom (maybe two further zoom steps available) for comparison. I have my NVR on continuous record so can’t comment on motion detection. Only complaint is Jidetech top resolution is not 16:9 like the Lorex cameras so I get letter box or stretched image on NVR live view screen. 2592 x 1944 resolution is clearly provided in product information so this isn’t really any fault of JideTech. Its just a 4:3 sensor. Still very happy with the unit given the cost. Update on night vision. Image is easily as good as my existing 4K Lorex cameras.

    Works with Lorex 4K NVR

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is an excellent camera but would not work with an Amcrest 16 channel NVR I have. I am giving it 5 stars because it is well made, beautiful optics and worked fine on it’s own. The company’s tech support was great. They even offered to send me one of their NVRs to see if the Amcrest cameras worked on their equipment. I do a lot with Amcrest so I declined, but I will certainly take a much closer look at this company next time I put a camera system together.

The camera is good quality and the zoom and pan work well. I have been testing it out at home and will take it into work when we return to monitor our building. See the photos, first one is zoomed out, the second is amd view at 20X.

Best Optical Zoom I could find with the MP resolution.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis camera is wonderful for our needs. Our property is long and narrow (400′ x 75′) and it has been challenging to find cameras to only record our property and avoid the neighbor’s properties. Yet with the zoom capabilities of this camera we can see a license plate at a distance of 200′ coming down the driveway. In the photos the red maple tree and pink roses are ~100′ from the camera and the electrical meter is ~250′ from the camera. And amazingly, the night vision is very clear even at the 200’+ distances. It connected easily to our GW NVR. Highly recommended. We leave it set to capture motion only.

I have had two of these running on my farm for almost a year now. The video quality is top notch. These cameras are so much better then the small dome cameras. I have had zero luck with small dome cameras. With this camera during setup i was able to zoom in to the highway which is one mile away and read the lettering on the side of a truck as it drove by, 20x optical zoom for the win. These have a good high speed travel. Mine are setup to record continuously. I had issues with the motion detection while on patrol but that is an issue within blue iris. These cameras do work perfectly with blue iris other wise. I am sure its just an issue i am having but constant record isnt a big deal for me.

I had one of these where the lens on the outside of the camera broke. I believe it was due to a hail storm. The camera is still functioning after months outside with the outside lens gone. I contacted the company and within 4 days I had a new camera in hand. They told me to keep the old camera. Top notch service and product.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI got this unit along with a competitors and decide to keep this one as the other was quite noisy when the PTZ was in action. The 20X optical zoom is quite impressive when used during in the day.
I have it mounted under my rafters pointed along my garage; sometimes i have pointed to the entrance of my court and capture some seriously suspicious activity at night to my chagrin.

Night time video is a challenge, and is so for most budget camera. I believe the LED night lights create a shadow on the lens which sometimes confuses the autofocus, autoiris controls; one every so often the camera will perform a refocus out of the blue and the focus is not quite as sharp as it could be.
A fix would be a LED light panel away from the camera and the attached LEDs turned off would improve the system dramatically.

I only wish this unit had Motion Detection to have it follow people, but at <300$ its a good deal and the silent PTZ motion which can't get heard from the sidewalk is a bonus.

I have it powered by my POE Brocade switch and recorded by the Milestone Xprotect. The Xprotect does handle the PTZ natively which is a great.

I'll add a video once i get some time.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersCamera is working out as well as I hoped. Sharp, colorful image, great 20x zoom and smooth operation. I can easily read car tag numbers at 100 yards with max zoom. Great security option! Build quality feels solid, and cam has a real metal housing., not plastic. I am using Megapixel IP Camera software and the camera was easy to set up. This camera offers a lot of value for the price. Update: I added this video to my review a couple of days later. I see Amazon has compressed the file, but you can still read the tag on the 2nd car. The video is much better quality straight from the cam. Also, I didn’t even upload the high res version, as the file was too big!

I bought two of these cameras to use with an Amcrest NVR. Initially I had trouble getting them to connect at all, but after contacting support I was able to get some steps that helped resolve the issues. At first the issue was that my router was on a different IP segment than the cameras default IP, so after an update I could detect the cameras. After that I was having trouble getting the cameras connected directly to my network switch to change the IP of the second cam, but support came through with steps on how to power successfully and get it updated. Appreciate the help.

Overall I am very satisfied with the camera operations. I reported feedback to the company on a couple of user interface issue and they seemed to be responsive to my feedback. I am sure the software that ships with it is helpful for some users and I did nothing with the little disk other than use it for a coaster for my coffee cup. I would purchase this camera again for areas which a PTZ is desired. I am including some screen grabs of the web interface and grabs of thermostat about 18ft away from mounted camera. Super clear with zoom feature and love that I can setup the entire thing with Linux + Chrome.

PTZ with great quality and features, setup with Linux (Debian) + Chrome!

This review is for the JideTech IPD-D53M02 (P2-20X-5MP) PTZ camera. I have purchased, configured, and installed a half dozen PTZ POE IP cameras at work. These were from other manufacturers with an average price of about $1,500. My budget for a PTZ POE IP camera for home was much more constrained (i.e. sub $300). I bought this camera hoping for the best, but prepared to be disappointed relative to my experience with the cameras at work. After several months of use, my overall reaction is one of pleasant surprise. The camera hardware is performing very well and delivers great video. The ActiveX user interface software for camera control via Internet Explorer (IE) is a little clunky and the installation instructions could be clearer. I would rate the overall product (h/w, s/w, and instructions) at 4 stars if it were not for my experience with JideTech customer support. Yesterday, I sent “cindyhe” a question about HTML syntax for remote control commands. Within hours I had a helpful response from JideTech support that included the HTML API reference document that I needed. In this day and age such prompt and personal customer support definitely warrants a 5 star rating!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI needed a ceiling mount for this camera and their support were very timely in getting me one, which was fantastic. Very friendly service!!

The actual camera works quite well. I use blueiris as my nvr and it took me a little bit to get that talking. I ended up using the rstp url from Ispyconnect to get working. Once it was connected the picture was fantastic and the PTZ pretty responsive.

Where I choose to give the camera 4 starts is in its firmware/software.

No chrome support (even with flash). I have to use an activeX control for IE, which always scares me. Also I could not find any firmware updates for the camera, which have always existed for previous cameras out of the box I purchased. There was an update to the activeX control but I had to download it from OneDrive url? Just lacks a little polish on that end.

    For my set up I:
    1. Set the IP statically within my desired range (I put my cameras on 1.2xx
    2. Changed admin credentials
    3. Turned off P2P sharing for the camera
    4. Blocked all external network access for the camera on my router (camera can’t talk to the internet)
    5. Added camera to blueiris
done. I view and control the camera feed through blue iris.

If the camera supported html5 video feeds for chrome and had available firmware readily available that felt more secure I’d give the camera 5 stars. Still a great price for a very functional camera with a great picture, I recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersUPDATED REVIEW June 18, 2022
    =================================
After many unsuccessful attempts at getting the cameras to work with Milestone Systems DVR including the very latest Essential + 2022 R2, I switched to Blue Iris. I will push my stars back to 4 from 3 because they work quite flawlessly with Blue Iris, even the Audio and PTZ. So I’m comfortable switching to Blue Iris and have just ordered 2 more of these cameras.

    UPDATED REVIEW June 2, 2022
    =================================
I’m afraid I have to drop it from 4 to 3 stars again. While the GUI is improved and the optics are great, it no longer has a drop-down menu option in the gui to change from H265 to H264. As a result, it doesn’t work with my Milestone system (DVR). A bit of a shame, but I did work with their support in many back-and-forth emails to no avail and they concluded that it wasn’t supported.

One other update. This camera version I got has the tracking feature that recognizes vehicles and people. That seems to be pretty neat and accurate. It reliably detects both without a lot of adjustment, and it is possible to adjust the sensitivity. There are two moderate annoyances. 1) it can’t follow the object. It can call a preset to move the camera, but that’s about it. 2) it can trigger something, such as a sound, but it seems to play that sound over the camera speaker (which is then heard via the browser/stream, incidentally). It would be nice if it only played it via the browser/stream so the intruder doesn’t know he/she intruded. Or at least have the option where to pay the sound… camera, browser/stream, or both. Just my $0.02.

    UPDATED REVIEW May 9, 2022
    =================================
I just bought the newer version and am upgrading from 3 stars to 4 stars.

The GUI has improved! I can now stream right through the browser without any special plugins. The design of the GUI is also better… not the best, but definitely updated. I’m still reviewing the camera further, attempting to connect it to my Milestone Systems Xprotect (DVR) and comparing the 5MP to 4MP. I’ll update you as I progress in my spare time.

    MAY 21, 2021 UPDATE
    =================================
Still like the camera quite a bit, so I ordered 3 more. One was struck by lightning, so I had to replace it, and 2 more will replace some fixed cameras I have. The optics on these and night vision continue to impress me. Great deal!

ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM October 5, 2019
    =================================
I’ve had this camera in operation for 6 months now and after a significant amount of time playing with it, I am giving it 3 out of 5 stars. I have it installed in a remote location on my property via a high quality, low-latency wireless link.

    The PROs:
    – Excellent quality camera and lens
    – Excellent high resolution
    – Fantastic 20x optical zoom
    – Great night vision illumination, even at 20x zoom
    – Integrated easily with Milestone XProtect
    – Great responsive support

    The CONs:
    – The web based GUI as a whole
    – The web based GUI PTZ responsiveness
    – The web based GUI Preset functions

For such an excellent camera at a great price that small businesses and homeowners can actually afford, I was sorely disappointed with the Web GUI. I would like to buy more of these, but the GUI is such a pain that I’m still on the fence about buying more, 6 months later. I need 6 of these but ugh.

First, it only works in Internet Explorer 11 with ActiveX enabled. I tried Chrome, Firefox and Edge without success. Support did say that Chrome would work if I installed the IE tab. That seems strange, so I just stuck with IE.
Controlling the PTZ via the network is sluggish and not ideal, but it does work. (Yes, I thoroughly tried it in my office before moving it out to the property, so my wireless link is not the issue.) Features like the tour are decent, but the presets are a failure. I love the concept of a preset so you can quickly return to a specific point and zoom, but it never returns to the same spot exactly. It’s always a little bit off on the positioning, and if one of the presets has full zoom, the bit it is off physically on the camera is clearly a up to 20 feet at the end of a zoom.

I will say that the support was responsive indeed. When I first received the camera, I contacted them and they responded within 24h. They are obviously in China, but they always respond within 24h, so that is excellent. They did send me the ceiling mount at no charge to replace the wall mount, since that was a better fit for my application. They answered my questions about support and configuration, provided links to download the software etc. So kudos for good support.

Frankly, there are so many pros that it almost feels wrong to give this camera 3 out of 5 stars, but without the GUI there isn’t much that you can do with the camera, so that’s why I carefully considered this rating decision. I did not download their app since the reviews are terrible (says it needs unreasonable permissions like location, camera etc.) and I sit at my desk PC all day, so I want to control it from there. Frankly, if they want more security-conscious people/businesses to buy a large quantity of these cameras, their audience is less inclined to use an app and will really consider the same features that I am, including integration with third-party security software and controllers.

Bottom line, if they could upgrade that to a full HTML 5 GUI that doesn’t require plugins, that would be fantastic.

I have ordered the PTZ controller they recommended (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RBQS4DC) and will connect that to see if I can get better control of the camera. If that mysteriously solves all of my problems, I’ll bump this up a star and I’ll probably get a second camera so I can begin testing with two.

(Update on that PTZ controller: It was VERY sluggish operating the camera, disconnected constantly, and eventually the display stopped working completely after a couple of months. Definitely not recommended.)

Really great camera! Works very nicely with Blue Iris.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersHave had camera for a bit over a year. It has worked well until recently. Originally there were some problems with setting a password and focusing but JideTech support worked with me and problems were resolved. Communication was great even allowing for the time difference.
As mentioned, recently the camera stopped working for reasons unclear. Contacted JideTech support and their representative, Wen was instrumental in getting the problem resolved. He ran through a list of attempted fixes to no avail. He discussed matters with his boss and even though the camera was a bit out of warranty they graciously offered a replacement camera!! All was good except for a problem encoding via h265 protocol. Once again Wen came to the rescue and provided a more updated firmware that solved the problem. I highly recommend JideTech and in particular their representative, Wen. Camera is great and the 20x zoom always impresses me, it is sharp and clear. For the money this camera seems to be a great deal.
