Tied it around the garden furniture and the pigeons have stopped roosting and appearing daily. These just look like reflective ribbons so probably could have bought some of that instead.

Blasted pigeons used a plant pot to sit on to drink out of an ornamental pond, squashing and killing the plant in the pot, they were also nabbing my strawberries and then they were after my veg too. Enough was enough, and after much searching, I found this tape.

In a way I am not a fan, as when the wind blows, it does make a bit of a noise, however, a combination of the noise and the light reflecting on the tape puts the pigeons off landing or attempting to go for my home grown fruit & veg, so it is worth it.

Easy to either stick or tie on to bamboo sticks or other items such as frames, netting etc., I have done both, and only used normal household sticky tape, and that has held very well, even through the recent rain storms.

Unfortunately, it was too late for the strawberry season, but I now have it ready for next summer, and it is now protecting my veg – not a pigeon in sight.

    It's very effective

I got this to keep birds off my cherry tree like pigeons etc. I watched as the pigeon landed on the tree and the tape moved which causes the reflected to catch the light and the bird flew off. They do still fly to sit on the tree but don’t stay long. It does work as it saves me going out there to scare them away.the It’s a bit expensive as it’s just some reflective tape.

I had Blackbirds digging in my newly formed borders next to fences. I don’t mind them digging but they were kicking all the mulch and soil into the slate chippings adjacent to the borders, which is a nightmare to clear up.
The tapes work superbly well, a harmless deterrent – the birds don’t like the light reflecting silver tape. The birds now keep to pecking for worms on the lawn which I’m absolutely fine with…. All in all, I’m pleased with the outcome.

Easy to use. Tied strips to the rails of our balcony so that they reflect the sun and flutter in the breeze. We haven’t seen a pigeon land since so they seem to be working. It is not adhesive so needs to be fixed or tied on.

So far it seems to be working. It keeps the pigeons away from my balcony and it’s easy to hang. I used bamboo sticks and tape to allow it to flutter in the breeze. I only have a small space, so there is plenty of tape left to use if I need to. A good purchase for scaring away birds.

    So far, so good!

I bought this tape to deter the birds from leaving their calling cards all over my new patio and I am delighted to say it really works. I tied some strips to my hedge and my parasol pole and the constant rustling of the tape seems to be doing the trick. I certainly recommend this product.

Was pretty sceptical about this product but it has put an immediate stop to a crow that has been obsessed with its reflection in my large format windows. Endless early morning pecking and full on flying-into-the-window attacks. I retained the tape in some light fittings and that was that.

    It works for Crows/Rooks

Tied 4/5 long strips (about 1 meter each) of this to the kids trampoline at the top to stop the Pigeons sitting and leaving their poo all over the trampoline. Been on a week and working really well, not seen a single pigeon sitting on the trampoline since we tied the strips to it.

Fairly pricey but tape is wide enough to cut into two so you can get twice the tape for your money. I tied to a tree that was being pretty much decimated by pigeons and it kept them away. I currently have it tied to canes on a newly sown lawn and it’s keeping most birds away bar robins, who don’t seem to be scared by it for some reason. The tape keeps squirrels at bay too. Effective and simple to use. You can easily tie it to trees etc and it sort of crumples where you knot it, so it doesnt come undone even in the wind. Good stuff.

WFH I was getting distracted by bird noise and also they were pooing on the kids outdoor swing and toys. After putting several strips of this up aroud the garden I noticed it kept the cats and small birds away initially. It seems to have reduced visits by the big pooers (pigeons and crows), so it appears to be effective and good value for what it does, however I am going to have to removed it all. Firstly I found the sun reflections to be highly distracting and ultimately annoying. These come through my blinds. I thought it was just me being highly sensitive (since I have ASD), but my neighbour confided in me that she found them annoying. Actually i was trying to take some down when she shouted out, oh no please don’t put any more of that ****stuff up. She seemed so happy when I said, actually I am taking it down. The big birds sat on my roof seemed pleased not that their favourite toilet has reopened. I cant comment exactly on effectiveness since I put spikes up in there place which seems just as or maybe more effective and without the annoyance. Now the roll of tape is in the kids crafting kit, which they seem to enjoy. This stuff was only exposed to the elements for a few weeks but appears to be in perfect condition so i would expect at least a year of it reflecting and making the crinkly (not so annoying) noise. If you have not worked out, this is most effective/annoying when placed in area exposed to direct sunlight, since that’s when it can really dazzle and shine with reflected sunrays.

Was very sceptical but thought it’s worth a go as we constantly had seagulls sat on the table in the garden, on the shed roof etc. The tape is amazing! Not a single seagull has been in the garden since. When the tape was first put up they flew around above the garden squawking, but don’t enter. The tape had to be flapping and free flowing to work

I wanted to wait some time before writing this review… This product is in fact very efficient and let me had a month of completely pigeon-free heaven so far on my balcony. In order to make this work, you need to make sure that the wind will blow it to some extent so the tape can constantly move.
HOWEVER, as these flying rats are smart enough to figure out that this scare tape means no harm to them, they eventually return. I cannot help but wonder if I should concentrate my financial resources to poison them rather than scaring as the latter is just simply temporary.. 🙁

I attached the tape to my balcony almost immediately and it worked well. The pigeons have (mostly) kept away, except for one who seems determined to stay. I put up some extra tape on the window frame and it appears to have done the trick.

From hunners of destructive birds trying to build nests under our roof and in the ventilation cladding to the occasional bird having a wee stop on top of our roof. Well worth being the talk of the street with our “party decorations”. Barely see any birds anymore.
A bit of advice: make sure the strips are long enough as it’ll make more noise and thus will be far more effective. Don’t expect the birds to disappear overnight, it takes at least a week. Try and chase them away too when you get the chance.

Well the good thing is, it worked.

Bought this tape to scare off an invasion of pigeons from our garden who were beginning to congregate under our bird feeder. It takes a few days for the pigeons to get the message they’re not welcome, and the tape must move with the wind for the desired effect, otherwise the buggers will ignore it.

The only downsides of the product: it’s a bit hard to tie tightly around a pole as the tape is quite sturdy; and this process makes a heck of a noise that sends shivers down your spine, like squishing balloons. But once it’s up it’ll stay up.

The only other downside is that now we don’t have any other birds in our garden either… I hate pigeons.

This tape works if set up correctly. If the tape length is much longer than 3 feet it gets tangled around the bamboo pole I have attached it to. I also put the pole at about a 20 degree angle which has stopped the tangling and even if the tape moves just a little it scares the pigeons away. We haven’t had any pigeons since putting this tape up and the pigeons where very very persistent. Great resul

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBased on NJW’s review July 2018…

I purchased this in August 2018. Didn’t get it to work but thought of it when I saw a 3 pot holder at Wilko (Aug 2020) that clearly wasn’t strong enough to hold plant pots but could possibly be useful for the repellent foil. I had used an owl kite which was effective but after 2 years it was worn and tatty. Also untangling the kite became irritating. As I was having the house painted, I revisited this solution. As NJW stated:-

    1) This is not “out of the box solution”. You actually have to think through how you will use it to make it work.
Me: Eureka moment when I saw the plant pot holder at Wilko.

    2) The “tape” is not sticky its a foil.
Me: Applied transparent tape on the repellent foil. Used a hole punch to create a hole then attach it to the plant
pot holder using leftover curtain rings. (see photo). The pot holder has a hook which made attaching to roof
corner easy [done by painter who has a tall ladder}.

    3) It works but gets tangled easy
Me: Doesn’t tangle due to the tape attached but 3 have fallen off as clearly didn’t attached properly. Still works
with but less noise so partner happy. Claimed the noise from 4 was scaring him.

    4) Common mistake people make is to wrap things in it or leave it almost like a barrier – that’s not how it works!
    ME: CORRECT!

    5) Works only when moved by the wind. So if you leave in wind clear area ME: CORRECT!

    6) As you see on a pic mine is on a stick. It is scaring pigeons from my solar panels and roof. We live in windy seaside
town so it works perfect…downside is – it gets tangled and stops moving.
Me: Works perfect but doesn’t tangle due to the tape (see 2 above).

    7) Tape movement and sparkly reflection scares and disorientates birds – so they go away. Simple. ME: CORRECT!

    8) Doesn’t work on big birds like seagulls. ME: DON’T LIVE BY THE SEASIDE

Summary: if you put it out and it doesn’t move, rattle in a wind – you are doing it wrong 🙂 ME: CORRECT!

Price is good and you get a lot of foil for it so if it breaks – reapply!
ME: APPLYING TAPE ON THE BACK OF FOIL HELPS.

    Good luck 🙂 ME: DITTO

Took 2 years but It finally works

We’ve probably spent near 60 on bird spikes yet the flying rats keep coming back and doing their business down the alleyway out of the back door. I tied (you have to tie them as they don’t have an adhesive) these along the guttering holders (be extra careful when working at heights) and there hasn’t been a single pigeon hanging it’s arse over the alleyway since. They have fairly stood up to the sheltered windy conditions of the alley, but a couple have slightly ripped and give a little light show into the kitchen during the day but haven’t disrupted our normal day.

……things to know about this product, if you have neighbours close by, they may be affected by the glare and not just the birds. Plus when super windy the foil makes noise that can be off putting.

  41. Anonymous says:

I tried this product for the first time this year as the fruit on two apple trees was being eaten by birds. Having read the mixed reviews I was uncertain if it would work at all, but in my case it really seemed to make a difference.
I attached the tape in various lengths by folding it around a branch and used duck tape to stick the tape to it itself to try to create a loose loop that would not rub on the branch and could move quite easily. I positioned each piece of tape where it would hang freely. My trees are small and I hung six or so lengths in each tree.
The tape is highly reflective and as it moves with the breeze it flashes and glints when the sun is shining, and it does make a sort of light crackling sound when blown in the wind. This certainly seemed to help keep the birds out of the trees. It is no deterrent to insects, and it doesn’t claim to be, so there was still some fruit damage.
I found that I did need to untangle the hanging tape on a daily basis as it gets wrapped around branches in the wind and on wet days the tape does adhere to itself and needed gently pulling apart.
There was enough on the roll of tape provided for a number of years in my small trees and I can’t see a reason why it cannot be re-used if taken out of the trees and stored carefully.
I will be using it again next year, which I guess is the best way of summing up how effective I found it to be.

This works ! We were plagued with a group of crows and pigeons on the thatched roof eating it and making early morning noise. This reflective tape has stopped them visiting . It is not adhesive despite saying it is so we tied it round some ticks that we then stuck into the thatch . If you have a hard roof surface I’m not sure how you’d attach it Slightly irksome as I paid more for adhesive option !

I bought this tape for my garden where we have had issues with pigeons eating grass seed and generally leaving huge poops across the lawn. I have two young daughters and they’ve trodden in it a few times, which makes the garden way less fun for everyone. This tape is great. I have attached two strips to their swing set and one on the fence and it’s made a huge difference. It blows in the wind and makes a slight clacking noise. It’s kept the birds away while not being invasive to the garden or needing anything more permanent.

Pigeons in my back garden were having a competition of who could release the most excrement from their bowels onto anything of value. They were all winners as far as I was concerned considering the sheer amount they could produce. I tied up 9 lengths of 5′ long tape and haven’t seen a single bird land anywhere near my back garden. So far, no bird poop in sight. I’ll watch them flying in to land on the fence or trampoline and quickly divert their flight path upon seeing these silvery/rainbowy tape strands of death. The kids love them too because of all the pretty colours.

At our wits end with pigeons nesting in our oak tree and leaving a daily mess on our expensive artificial grass we looked at lots of options on the internet. We found previous reviews for repellent tape mainly positive and with the cost being low compared to many other electronic methods of scaring the birds away decided to give it a go.
We carefully made two hole punches in the tape so we could threat some twine through and hang it from the lower branches, my husband using a ladder to get high enough to get to some of the branches was the most difficult part of this installation!
The tape does make a slight noise in the breeze/wind but you soon get use to that and you do have to make sure you position any tape carefully so it doesn’t get tangled with each other, but we did all that and then watched and waited.
And amazingly we were not disappointed! Immediately the pigeons started to avoid our tree, we’ve had a couple of visitors on the higher branches but they haven’t tended to stay long, we also had an issue with some noctural visits by the birds but the difference it has made in a week has been amazing.
If anyone is thinking of using this, I’d say for the price give it ago and hopefully you’ll be as delighted as we are!

So since my neighbours had solar panels fitted and eventually had mesh put round to stop them nesting, my roof has been inundated with pigeons who are noisy and make a mess. I used this tape in an attempt to stop them landing on the roof. It has made a difference in that I get less of them but the tape only really works when it’s windy. I cut off approx. 3 foot lengths, covered the ends with a few pieces of sellotape, to strengthen it, then hole punched and tied them with thin string. They do make a noise when blowing/moving, which helps deter the pigeons, but not too noisy that it keeps me awake at night. Would probably be more effective if I could fix it to more places but its too high up to reach. Think it would be good for garden area/crop protection though.

I live in a flat and had a big issue with pigeons. They built few nest around and even tried building one on our balcony. They were also pooping all around the balcony. I had enough and was looking for a good deterrent. One neighbour told me about some audio device, my suggestion would be forget about them, if they worked pigeons will disappear. I found this reflective tape 100% effective. Pigeons are still flying around, but they don’t ever stop anywhere near by balcony. I have to say I’m really happy with the results! In my case, I’ve simply wrapped few strips around the balcony railing

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis absolutely worked for me, but as another reviewer said, you have to use it properly. I took them away last night. This morning the pigeon was back on the soil, but not thing to eat!

Had used tin foil strips before, but they always tear. Used to keep big fat pigeons from breaking the branches off my cherry tree. Put on with sticky tape, had to use about a dozen strips, they’re tenacious turkeys, but it did the job and there’s still enough on the roll for next year. Alas, someone suggested a net over the top of the tree (it’s small) and that stopped the foil blowing, so the pigeons landed on the tree and stripped it in one day! Next year, will just use the tape.

This is a roll of holographic type patterned foil ribbon . It doesn’t stick, and needs to flow in the wind, to make a noise ( not too noisy ) and reflect, to scare off birds.
We are currently plagued with Magpies and Jackdaws which have raised their young on my chicken food and eggs ( foiled that at last) and other smaller birds (still very cross about the lady blackbird and her chicks they killed)
We’ve had 10-15 previously, but this year there are over 30 jackdaws and a large family of magpies, and they are so noisy.
We’ve stuck lots of lengths of this foil ribbon, onto trees, above our window, along the chicken wire fence to put off the jackdaws from landing, and they seem to be moving further up the hill, away from our house and others, to trees further away.
The chickens weren’t at all perturbed by the foil flapping about, as it’s mostly outside of their enclosure.
Well need to be wary of some longer lengths, as they are eye height at the moment, so I may need to trim, but tied to some branches, they seem to be working well.
We have 10 lengths up, dotted about, and I might put some more up.
It didn’t bother a robin yesterday, and the other smaller birds, have not been here lately, due to the jackdaws and magpies presence

Foil ribbon, floating about, seems to be working well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe product arrived quickly and I decided to research ways to use it before rushing into it. One review on YouTube suggested reinforcing the end of an eight inch length with gaffer tape then punching a hole in it and threading through some twine before tying to the tree you wanted to protect. I followed the instructions and was very pleased with the result. I now have ten lengths, attached to a fig tree, blowing gently in the breeze and making a rustling sound to scare off the birds.
The tape itself is strong and long and should last a long time. I’m very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it.

I’ve actually taken a photo of this tape festooning a tree with a pigeon sitting on the tree, so no, I don’t think it’s totally effective. BUT, I have found that deer, badgers and foxes haven’t visited our garden since I started using this. I don’t think they like the sound, movement and glitter. Excellent at keeping pigeons away from my roof , window sills and fence and garden furniture ,thus reducing excrement in all of these areas including on my laundry .
It’s the most convenient way to repel these nuisance birds that the neighbour feeds by scattering feed on the street and in her garden , right near my house .
Our council do not have an environmental officer and, the neighbour took massive umbridge when asked not to scatter the seed. She said ‘I thought you British like birds ”
To which I explained that garden birds fed via a feeder is a way to encourage lovely birds to a garden that are not nuisance birds who carry disease .
So, no more interaction with her, and excellent result f4om this metallic flapping tape . Many thanks ! Win win !

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this as I have been having terrible problems with herring gulls. They do no like this tape flapping in the wind. The reflected colours and the sound the tape makes appears to be very effective. You do need a bit of a breeze though. I cut about 3 ft of tape and taped the end with duck tape and punching a hole through that. I then tied a piece of string to it via the hole and attached the other end to a long pole. Works great so far, long may the effect last.

It had an problem where I was constantly getting bird poo on the waist height wall outside my front door. It turns out there is a berry bush near the house and the blackbirds would then poo on the wall, these were really bad ones, so I put a couple of half to 1M long strips hanging above the wall, and ever since then, I’ve never had a problem with poo on the wall.
Bought this around a year ago and still do not have the problem, so can say for my usage, it’s turned out very well!!
Note that I’ve had to renew the strips every 3 months since they tend to degrade through sunlight and all the flexing around in the wind. I still have about half the tape strip left and if I do run out, I’d definitely have no problem with buying more

THIS WORKS! It’s been day two in the scare tape house and no pigeon droppings have reappeared. All I did was tie it to the outside of an upstairs window and it’s been brilliant. My door step was a mess. I spent so much of my time cleaning and a loads of money on cleaning materials. No more!
NB do not wrap it in anything it has to blow in the wind even a slight breeze will do it. The mirrored shiny pattern completely confuses the pigeons and they are HUMANELY discouraged from sitting on my satellite dish and dropping away. I bought it because it was cheaper than other brands and wanted to see if it worked because I was at my wits end. No need for more expensive product if used correctly. . I’m yet to see what happen on sunnier days but so far so very good. Thoroughly recommended

I’d tried a number of products to scare pigeons from under my solar panels including plastic owls and ultra sonic alarms but sometimes the most simple solution is the best. I’ve only used two 1.5m lengths attached to the edges of the solar panels and the number of birds has significantly reduced.

    I would give 5 stars ….but
This easier tears in strong wind so isn’t permanent
And it scares all birds away not just pigeons
No longer have a Dawn chorus but added bonus is no longer have pigeons – seagulls crapping all over my roof !!
    Amazing stuff

My goodness this works!! I have 4 apple trees and I was worried the birds were going to nibble on my apples when they are not fully grown yet. The birds were in and out of my garden and I thought I have to get something and I came across this. Well, I received this tape very promptly and I haven’t seen birds since I put 3 stripes of tape on each trees. The garden I have we get the sun from morning to the evening and it is beautiful the way the tape shines up in rainbows colours and reflect disco flashing lights on my garage wall and through my house window, I love it. Also when the wind blow the tape, it makes a nice cracking sounds. And another bonus, I haven’t had any bird mess on my washing line!! So I have given some to my parents for their veg garden and they too had no birds. So yes this
    is highly recommended!!

Golden Review Award: 195 From Our UsersWe have suffered pigeons under our solar panels for two years, multiplying until there were about 30 of them. They were driving us mad, coo-cooing all day, especially as the sunrise got earlier and earlier. I got an 8 meter pole with a hawk kite; that only worked for a couple of days and then it was back to normal. I got a pigeon trap but ‘she who must be obeyed’ didn’t like the thought of what would happen to the pigeons so I had to open the trap and let them all go. Sick of seeing them leaning over the gutter sniggering at me I started to get quotes for professionally installing the wire mesh exclusion system. I was still looking for anything to wipe the smirks off their beaks when I came across this tape. I was sceptical when I ordered it but at less than a tenner, it was worth a go. I put the tape on the end of the8 meter pole and the pigeons scattered like mums at the school gates when the traffic wardens appear 🙂 This stuff is ABSOLUTELY FABTASTIC. See the photo – not a smirking pigeon to be seen.

    ABSOLUTELY FABTASTIC

Didn’t scare the seagulls away as they still fly overhead and sit on the roof (actually saw one trying to pull the tape off with its beak!) but it has kept them from landing on our balcony which has resulted in less mess. Would buy again.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersMy neighbour has started to feed the birds from a shrub that is very close to the boundary fence. the bigger birds I.e. pigeons and doves sit on top of the fence waiting to mop up after the smaller birds below. Always with their bottoms facing into my garden and I am getting fed up with
the resulting mess spilling all down my side of the fence and onto my plants and garden ornaments. I have now stapled strips of this silver tape on the top of my side of the fence so that the ends flap about in the wind, making a rustling noise and reflecting the light. It’s been a week since I started using it and so far so good. I am very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOver the years we’ve had an annual invasion of house-martins in increasing numbers. Cute though they are, they make a heck of a mess. Strips of this tape flapping outside the window and they’ve moved across to neighbours 30 yards away. Nice to still see them zooming about, but no messy paths and window ledges.

After purchasing a trampoline with a cage every pigeon within 20miles decided it would be a great place to perch and relieve themselves. After spending an hour cleaning the trampoline I ran the tape around the top of the cage a voila . Been clean since.

Though I’d rather not have flashing tape hanging off my tree at least it seems to do the trcik and keeps pigeons from vandalising the tree further! So it does work. Just wnder if smething ore ‘decorative’ like a giant Xmas bauble might look better as well as be a effective? Just an idea.

I had my doubts, but this does appear to have worked. I suspect that its efficacy will be related to the amount of wind – the birds were less scared when there was no movement- but better than the plastic hawk I bought a couple of years ago which the blackbirds beat up!

Customer service was fantastic. Item arrived in good time. I was unsure whether the tape would work, as I needed it for around the pool to stop birds pooing all around the side when they take a sip of pool water. So was limited to where I could hang the strips. I have seen a marked decrease in bird poo! But thankfully not a decrease
In birds drinking from the pool. They don’t seem to stay long enough to leave their mark!! So I’m pretty happy all round.

Golden Review Award: 39 From Our UsersI cut the tape in half down the middle and tied a generous amount to a bamboo stake. I staked out once every 2 metres.

Bird activity has dropped to close to zero observed instances.

The rustling noise they make scares off the birds (& foxes). The rustling makes me uneasy, it’s spooky

EDIT – Numerous requests for “How much/Where From?” from fellow allotmenteers. Cutting the tape down the middle was a mistake. Whole, it makes a much bigger sound, and bird ground activity on my plot and neighbours is 0.

EDIT – Purchased for my mother. Purchased another roll for this year.

I purchased this to try and keep swallows away from the house. There are so many of them that their ‘chattering’ wakes everyone up at 4am. I have tried other methods such as hanging CDs up, scarecrows etc., but nothing so far has worked.

I hung up several 1m long strips of the tape from the guttering and the effect was immediate. The swallows stopped perching on the gutter and instead have taken to sitting on a telephone wire away from the house. Result! I accidently trapped the tapes in the windows when I closed them and the next morning, the birds were back. This leads me to think it’s more the noise and flapping rather than the reflection that they don’t like.

The tape makes a slight rustling noise when the wind blows it. Although initially it’s a little irritating, you get used to it quickly and to be honest, if it keeps the swallows away, I’m more than happy to put up with that.

I highly recommend this tape. It’s worked where all else has failed.

First use it seems to be doing the job – pigeons are leaving crops alone. I cut the strips in half lengthways as it meant that smaller strips covered a larger area, also would recommend some double-sided tape or similar to aid fitting, I wrapped round lengths of string hung above the crops.

The product worked in my case. Had two pigeons who wanted to nest in my BBQ and I had to completely wrap it in plastic. However they were still coming around and wanted to best somewhere in my terrace. I have then bought the De-bird repellent and spread it all around. The pigeons, after a few days, haven’t come back

Bought this in conjunction with a thinner tape and Reflective Rods, so being used altogether. I was having terrible problems with wood pigeons sitting on top of my pergola and messing all over my decking and garden furniture etc. It was becoming so bad this year it was making it an unusable area. Was spending hours on my hands and knees cleaning the decking only for it to be splattered again days later. So, prepared to try anything humane to keep them away, decided to try this.Tied the tape around the outer wooden beams (left it fairly long), wrapped the thicker tape all the way along the middle beam, and hung the rods up around the outside corners. This was about 3- 4 weeks ago and I’m amazed to say it is working so far!!! There is just one splat on the decking and I’ve only see a wood pigeon land on the pergola a couple of times, only to fly off again as they don’t like it. Yes, ideally I would prefer not to have to silver tape hanging from my pergola but needs be – it’s not awful looking, just a bit unusual. But you get used to I guess. And believe me, it’s worth it if it works!!!!!

I bought this tape because I have had an annoying blackbird that had made my life a misery by its constant pecking on my windows. The windows are filthy because of it and there’s bird droppings all over the window sill. It’s only two windows and just this one bird – all other garden birdlife seems to like me and we live in harmony. I paid for an animal scaring device with high-pitched sound and flashing lights and that worked to some extent but not completely. This tape, however, seems to have done the job. I stuck strips of it on the window sill and hang strips from the gutter using bull-dog clips. I found it useful to weigh the bottom of the tape with a little bit of blu-tac to stop it flying up and getting lodged in the gutter. So I am a happy man., The blackbird is still around but, so far, has avoided the windows.

Depending how you stick these the results vary. I was getting a lot of pigeons on my balcony. So I thought I’d try this out. It works best when the tape flaps in the wind. When the tape was not moving I had a few pigeons come back

So far so good … I have used this for 3 days and the amount of birds and birds droppings has considerably reduced ! However, when there is little or no wind, the birds seem less scared and are curious… I will continue monitor daily.
The product itself is easy to use and the tape is more “solid” or “resistant” than I expected.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis works for about 80% of the birds here. Some birds are oblivious to the fact it is supposed to scare them away like the one I saw actually standing on the ribbon! Perhaps you get adrenaline junky birds! On the whole, our bird poop problem cleared up enough for me to be happy with this product. Gave 4 stars instead of 5 as it does not scare the birds 100% – probably nothing would, though. I’m saving the 5th star for a product that scares even dare-devil birds.

It definitely helps, I put a few strands in a ‘problem’ tree and the pigeons don’t roost in it anymore. Looks pretty with sun on it too. I also fitted bird spikes to my aerial, and my car hasn’t been splattered with flying poop since then. So both the two actions have achieved what I wanted.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWe have a pergola with a collection of garden furniture on it. Unfortunately we also have several large pigeons that were regularly perching on the pergola’s rafters and pooping all over the furniture. Having looked at a number of bird repellent options I went for this tape as it offered by far the cheapest possible solution. Installing the repellent tape was easy – just a couple of long screws fixed approx 1m apart with the tape given a single twist and connected to each screw with some insulation tape.
The repellent tape has been is situ for about 3 weeks now and we have not seen a single pigeon land or walk across those parts of the pergola where it was fixed and consequently our furniture and cushions have been poop-free.
The only issue I can mention is that in windy conditions the tape can “flutter” and be a little noisy but this is a minor issue in what has otherwise been an excellent and cost-effective solution. Definitely recommend people try this before some of the more expensive options.

We have had terrible trouble with crows attacking our windows and window frames when we were away from home. The mess they left of droppings and spittle all over our terrace and high up our windows was unbelievable. We erected canes at either end of the big windows to which we tied string. De-Bird Repellent Scare Tape was then tied in individual strips all along the string so that the strips could flutter in the breeze. What a colourful sight in the sunshine. We were away for a week and had completely clean windows on our return. What a great relief that was.
We do not know whether there is a particular time of year when the crows are inclined to attack windows – time will tell. So far we are extremely pleased with the De-Bird Repellent Scare Tape. Many thanks.

I was plagued with pigeons in both my front and back gardens. I wasn’t bothered about seeing the pigeons but it was the mess they left behind which was everywhere and very hard to avoid treading on, which usually resulted in the mess frequently and unwittingly being brought in to the house.
I purchased the De-Bird repellent scare tape, along with the De-Bird repellent discs.
On some of the discs I attached a length of the tape to the discs by using a piece of double sided tape just so as to make the already highly visible dics even more visible and also to give a rustle noise when there is a slight breeze.

The question is do these items work, either on their own or in the combination that I used.
The answer from day one appears to be a resounding yes!!

Bearing in mind that I’ve only had the bird repellent items in use for about two weeks, I have to say that I’m very impressed.
While not quite a 100% success, (more like a 95%) I still have one or two pigeons who completely ignore and are indifferent to the deterrents but what a difference already.

To me these deterrents work really well and the delivery was excellent, being delivered a couple of days before the stated due date.
In time I will probably move the discs around to different ares of the garden just to keep the pigeons guessing!!!!!

This is a honest and genuine review for which no payment or reward has been received.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had a problem with pigeons nesting in a bush growing up and along the wall under my living room and bedroom windows. It was particularly irritating when they perched on my window ledges and started cooing loudly around daybreak. It was impossible to get back to sleep. I looked at what was available and decided to try this tape. I’m glad to say, it seems to have worked a treat and I’ve had no problems with the pigeons since using it. The tape becomes multi-coloured once the sunlight hits it, with the colours seeming to move up and down the tape. This, combined with the fluttering of the tape, scares the birds off.
I’d also like to say that the customer service provided by the seller is first class. Because of the position of the bush in my case, it wasn’t obvious how best to use the tape so I contacted the seller for advice. Advice and information was immediately forthcoming, and it has done the trick. If you’ve got a problem with birds, I thoroughly recommend that you try this solution.

I was not too sure about what a few strips hung up in my garden would do to scare the little blighters (pigeons in my garden). When I first hung up the strips, the pigeons tried it on for a bit, and would quickly fly over to the bird bath (meant for the tiny garden friends) and have a drink and then fly away. As time has passed, I have not seen the pigeons except occasionally on the lawn, it feels like the strips scare tape is working as the pigeons used to have a favourite place to sit on the fence and now the strips have been hung on the fence and opposite my shed, they do not seen to sit there anymore and no sign of them of late. Seems like a good sign, so far so good, but time will tell as my experience is they are very persistent buggers! Here’s hoping they stay away for good!

Very simple to use and comprehensive, uncomplicated notes from the seller, which came by e-mail which was really helpful. Easy to cut and tie. We have a big plot with fences and wide gates and the birds just congregate and ‘poop’, especially in breeding season. To save the mess around the gardens of the house, I have put the tape on some lengths of fence, across the top of gates, across some trees and some just hanging from plant baskets and outside lights. The reflective surface is quite pleasing to my human eye, so the tape does not look out of place, and IT WORKS!
I saw an immediate improvement which has been maintained over the last 4 weeks. We are near the coast and have strong winds and rain and the tape has stayed in place and looks the same as when I put it on. Very impressed.

Checked reviews before buying and decided to give it a go. Quite simply – it works! We have had months of putting up with early morning very loud bird noises from the eaves above the bedroom window. I used strong plastic tape to attach 18 inch lengths of tape to the edge of the eaves – leant out of the windows – and then waited until next morning. Nothing as far as bird noises except for the bird calls from the trees. I am about to fix strips to the rear of the house. Two weeks later and it is still working. probably the best product ever purchases for doing what it says. Buy it if you have a problem.

Golden Review Award: 57 From Our UsersFor some years now the pigeons have devastated the crop from my miniature cherry tree, attacking it as soon as the cherries have even started to form, usually by the time they come to ripen, there’s barely a handful left. I’d used pictures of cats, an owl decoy and none of these did a thing. As once again this year, the minute the blossom had gone, the pigeons were on it and I thought lets have a look and try something else, so ordered this tape. I wasn’t particularly hopeful, but thought its worth a go out of principal, I’d like to eat some of my cherries this year.
So it arrived and I attached half a dozen strips to some CDs I had around with gaffer tape, then tied them to the tree. Well blow me down, I’ve not seen a single pigeon on the tree and no tell-tale evidence of wasted half formed cherries all over the floor as normal. There’s stil a way to go until they ripen, but looking good so far. I’ve attached a couple more strips and stuck some to the owl and it now looks like it’s ruffling it’s feathers and has demon eyes, so who knows maybe I’ll have a decent crop for the first time in years!

I bought this tape to deter pigeons from landing on my balcony. With a few 2-3 ft lengths on the railings the number of pigeons has reduced dramatically. The tape waves genly in the wind and scatters light into the flat making it quite a pleasant feature on the balcony. It makes a rustling noise as it moves (part of how it scares the birds) which I only notich when the door is open and even then it’s not particularly distracting or annoying. The only times I have seen birds land is on very calm days when the tape doesn’t move around much but on these occasions it eventually flickers, scaring them away. I would certainly reccomend giving the product a go if you have a bird pest problem.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersI installed the tape along a piece of wood about 2 ft above our decking to stop the pigeons landing on the decking rafters and leaving their calling card everywhere! The tape has been there 2 weeks now and the results are brilliant! The wind keeps the tape gently moving, and in stronger winds (pretty much every other day) it makes a rustling noise which seems to frighten and perplex the pigeons too. When it rained overnight and was windy, I woke to find the strands of tape caught up and stuck together, but within hours, once dry, it unraveled itself and is back looking just how I installed it. Recommended!!

The suppliers are very thorough in trying to make sure you know how the tape works and emailed me a few times from the moment I purchased the tape to give instructions on the best way to use the tape, which was great service! Clearly, the hanging of the tape to move and make noise in the wind is critical to scaring the birds, so do let it hang freely with at least 1.5ft of tape hanging from nearby branches etc.

    Great stuff

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersThis tape is brilliant. After laying lawn seed last year, I sat in disappointment as I watched the birds picking at it within a few minutes. This time around I searched for a deterrent and came across this.

Easy to set up and it keeps the birds off by reflecting moving sunlight across the lawn. This, along with the physical presence of the tape as well as the sound it makes all help to keep birds well away. Haven’t seen a single bird anywhere near my lawn since setting up the tape 5 days ago.

It looks really basic in the photos I attached, but trust me this works wonders.
Of course that doesn’t guarantee the seed will actually germinate, but at least I know those pesky birds won’t eat them before they have a chance to.

    Great product…just buy it!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis product worked as promised : it sufficed to get rid of 90% of the pigeons that were staying on the roof of my flat. The noise is now greatly reduced. Only a single pigeon is still regularly on the roof as it’s used to the area: as the product manual/description states this product is good for preventing birds from arriving, but not as effective for getting rid of those already nested in the area. You also get quite a lot of the tape for the price, so I would say overall an effective and simple product that works without harming the environment and animals.
