Just right for us – remote is a great addition. It tests and silences the alarms.

These work perfectly and straightforward to install. They are also in line with the new regulations in Scotland so I’m sorted! Worth the money.

These were easy to install and linked up together very easily.
I cant comment on battery life, as they are too new.
Alarm Sound is loud, as it should be and could be heard comfortably in all of the rooms in the 624 sqft building.

Got two sets of these for my parents and my own home to comply with the Scottish law.
They were on offer (prime day) so were the cheapest set I had seen and looked not to bad based on reviews.
They came on time, and are surprisingly smaller than I expected.
Installing in my house was super easy, 15 minute job max. I would suggest you plan where you are putting them first, then while they are all together, pair then at once before installing.
They can be either stuck to wall/ roof with the included stickers, or you can use the plates on the back to install using screws (my preferred option)
Pairing is super easy, install was super simple, they look good, are loud as all hell when they go off together, and were decently priced.
I repeated this process in my parents house easily to.
It comes with a wee remote control you can use to test them, however you need to decide somewhere safe to keep it so everyone knows where to go for it.
Battery life, it says 10 years … we will need to wait and see I suppose.

These seem very good and a so easy to set up!.

I like the remote control as I am disabled and it’s hard for me to reach to stop any alarm.

I have always wanted a set like this as I sleep wearing earplugs in my flat and I was never sure if I would hear my landing alarm but I now have one of these in my bedroom and NO WAY I wont hear that and great!.

The only downside with these are the sticky pads and I now realize they may have just been thrown in as an extra? and there is no mention of them in the instructions I now realise.

Do NOT use them and I have had 2 fall off the ceiling so far and had a friend use BluTack and that has worked so far.

I would have to hire someone to screw them to my ceiling and would rather not unless I have too.

As for the batteries, I will let you know in 10 years time? heh heh

… I have updated my review as they ALL fell off my ceiling using those useless 3M sticky pads and do they want to damage their own product by including them?.

They stick to the plastic on the alarms very well but NOT to ceilings and do not use them.

Also the base plates and very badly designed and they do not lock into place properly and had 2 fall off because of that.

I think the alarms themselves are brillianltly designed and the remote controll is great but use BluTack or have them screwed in properly guys!

They lose 1 star because of that and I am paying someone yet again to put them back up tomorrow

Needed to meet new Scottish regs. Web site easy to work out what to buy for my house (how many and where). Instructions clear and easy to apply the alarms to ceiling with sticky pad supplied. Still there after a month! Not difficult to set up if you follow the instructions. Very loud – but you want that in a fire don’t you! Saved a fortune from getting someone in to do it.

CPVAN interlinked smoke alarm and heat alarm is smatter way to live in house. I have decided to replace my all old smoke alarm which was working but up till now from onwards more safer, more reliable and smart interlinked would be taking charge of my house. It’s very easy to replace and install. Have excellent experience of receiving good customer service as I have other CPVAN products in my property. Would happily recommend CPVAN brand.

Smart way to live/protect our homes.

These interlinked fire alarm was easy to setup for me, I followed the video on Amazon. I have put one in the kitchen, I have not installed it on the ceiling but kept it on the top of the cabinet. Rest of them are placed on ground and first floor rooms or landing area. The remote makes the life easier as I don’t have to reach out to mute the alarm in case when we are cooking a smoky recipe. Best to keep the remote in the room (like our kitchen) where there are highest chance of the alarm going off so you can control it.. LOL
I have not tested it monthly as recommended, may be once.
The build quality of the alarm looks good and would last for its 10 years lifespan. Battery is described to last for 10 years which I think most of smoke alarms are coming with, these days.
The price for 4 of these is 149.99 (there’s a 15 voucher currently) which I feel is costlier than other similar alarms, yes you get lesser units but even than per unit the price for alternatives is less. Do look at others before making a decision.

The wireless smoke alarm was delivered on time and in good packaging. The smoke alarm is certified and safe with a long battery life. The alarm set can be connected several times together, monitoring the whole house. Installation is easy, on any flat surface in any corner of the house and everything is adjusted from the built-in remote control and you can use to associate, test and stop the fire alarm at any time, without having to test it with a pole, it is equipped with a photoelectric sensor and will immediately announce the danger. The set is an inevitable one for any room, it is comfortable and easy to use. I think that the is too pricey because there are a lot of stuff like that much cheaper Anyway it works well and so far I have no complaints about this produc

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy young daughter’s bedroom is on the other side of the house and I’ve been worried that if there was a fire in her side of the house I wouldn’t know. I believed we had to have a wired in system for the smoke alarms to be connected, but then I found these!! They were really easy to link together, and the adhesive pads are mega sticky and they have stayed on the ceiling fine. They also come with screws and wall plugs if you’d prefer. They come with a little remote control to test them (no more climbing on precarious chairs!). I highly recommend this alarm system, I absolutely would not be without it now!

Easy to install and I feel safer in my home.

Great quality alarms, easily installed and great adhesion. The remote for me is the best point, being a wheelchair user and trying to hit the button of smoke alarms with anything long nearby, this is a lifesaver, quick button press and it’s silent. Well worth the money.

  26. Heather of Kitchen Concoctions says:

These alarms are brilliant not least because they are so easy to install in terms of physical fitting.

I decided to use the Scotch 3M “tissue tape” circular strip that is included in the package and which fits securely on the back of each alarm. I am pleasantly very surprised by how securely the Scotch tape fixes the alarm to the ceiling – even to an Artex ceiling. It is rock solid.

Setting up the alarm wireless interlink was easy but it took me two attempts. I think that there is a “timeout” whereby after about a minute or so each alarm will exit pairing mode. You have to trigger pairing mode on each alarm individually so if like me, on my first attempt, you are a bit slow in enabling pairing mode on each alarm, you will have to start again.

I have the heat alarm in the kitchen and one of the smoke alarms downstairs a few rooms away from the kitchen. The other two smoke alarms are upstairs. There is absolutely no problem at all in setting up the wireless link – it covers the upstairs/downstairs distance wonderfully and manages to penetrate one brick wall and several plasterboard walls.

The alarms do pulse with a green light to show that they are working. I thought that this would be irritating in the bedroom at night but actually it isn’t – if anything it is reassuring to know that the alarm is signalling that it is working.

The alarms are loud – very loud! They do sound all at once and having tested the alarm system on two occasions a week apart, I am confident that they all work together as they should. One point though – when I initially failed to link the alarms during my first attempt at setting them up, it was not clear that a link had not been created until I tested the alarms and found that only two out of the four were sounding.

Fortunately, the remote control allows for easy testing and easy pairing with simple and clearly described button options. There are just two buttons on the remote: “test” and “pair”.

The manual also contains important safety information including advice on where to position and, importantly, where not to position the alarms. The manual is also available online for this model smoke alarm.

The alarms are battery operated and there is no mains operated option. Confusingly given that the battery is described as being a “sealed” lithium battery, the manual does give instructions as to how it is possible to change the battery. The manual is very informative but I don’t really understand why it gives battery replacement instructions if the battery is a unit sealed battery.

The remote control unit uses a “23A” size battery which I have seen for sale online but not in mainstream shops.

I did notice that the plastic case for one of the alarm units was not fitted correctly. I have taken a photo of this alarm which shows the top of the alarm not fitted tightly to the bottom. I wasn’t able to fix the top firmly to the bottom without a gap. This was disappointing but I doubt that the gap impacts the functioning of the unit which otherwise works as it should..

Despite the problem with the casing of one of the alarms, I am going to buy further CPVAN alarms for other rooms in my house so that I can interlink them with this set of alarms.

    Pros:

    – easy to install with drill based fixings or alternatively strong adhesive Scotch 3M circular tissue-tape
    – heat alarm to reduce false alarms in the kitchen
    – very easy to setup (but pairing timeout means I had to try twice)
    – very loud!
    – green pulsing light (every few seconds) to indicate that the alarm is working
    – manual is very informative in terms of set-up and operating instructions

    Cons:

    – pulsing green light may not be to everyone’s liking but it is very

Very easy to install using included Scotch 3M tape

I picked these up as my current smoke alarms are all due to expire soon and I have always had an issue that my ceilings are double height, so when I burn my toast I struggle to silence it without getting a fair and long stick. These have the answer to that problem with an interlinked remote which can test and mute all of them.
As it’s now a requirement to have interlinked smoke detectors in any building having work done this kit is an easy buy and installation couldn’t be easier. It comes with removable back plates that can be stuck with included pads or screwed, the unit then just twists on.
Size wise these seem fairly standard and having a heat detector included in the pack is ideal for the kitchen. Originally I was a little disappointed as they look quite cheap for the price of this pack, I realise it’s something I don’t want to look at and after installing them the very plain and simple design helps it to blend into the ceiling.
Mine came with about 10 years and 3 months battery life so that’s pretty good I think and hopefully I won’t get any issues before that time is up.
Overall it’s a good kit with all the BS requirements and it’s easy to install without having to run cables or buy additional wireless connectors. At the time of review its 145 which works out at less than 40 per detector and this includes the remote which other company’s charge a premium for. Therefore it’s pretty good value for money and suitable for a very large home.

    Perfect for high ceilings!

Ver easy to setup and fit to ceiling with the adhesive pads. The instruction video was simple and i got these up and running in no time. This review is for the CPVAN Wireless Interlinked Smoke and Heat Alarm with 10 Years Battery Life, EN14604, CE Certified, Interconnected Fire Alarm with Remote Control, BS5446, Heat Detector, Low-Battery Alert. 4 Pack

159.99 at the time of review.

These alarms meet the new Scottish legislation for 2022 so I was more than pleased to fit them.

They are really easy to pair and the noise level should wake even the heaviest sleeper. I have screwed the base plates into the roofs, but you could also use the included sticky pads. The enclosed instructions are comprehensive and I had no problem following them.

I never thought of needing a remote control for alarms before, but the included one is actually really useful as you can use it to set up the alarms, test them and shut them off if you need to do. I can see this being a great help for someone who may not be agile as they were.

In this case, my saying less is more. These alarms are well made, discrete, the instructions are good and well written and the remote control is terrific. 5 stars then for these smoke alarms and I am happy to recommend them. Their pricing is around average I think, given they include a remote and a built-in 10 year battery.

When we bought our house it came fitted with interlinked mains powered smoke alarms and a heat detector. The smoke alarms reached the end of their useable life fairly recently, so I am pretty sure the heat detector is due reach its end of life very soon as well. I replaced the smoke alarms with 10 year lithium battery alarms, as the cost of identical wired replacements was just too expensive, so when I had the chance to review this pack of interlinked 10 year Lithium battery detectors from CPVAN, I was quite pleased.

In the pack you receive 3 regular smoke alarms. These have a very nice simple design to them and they are really thin, measuring approximately 12cm in diameter with a depth of only 3cm (including the base plate).

On the top of the detector are no visible buttons or LED’s. The alarm can be tested by pressing the centre of the detector and this will also silence the alarm should it be triggered accidentally whilst cooking for example, although this detector features a Photoelectric sensor which is a little less sensitive to cooking vapours and burning toast and better at picking up larger particles of smoke produced by slow smouldering fires.
There is an indicator LED, which lights up through the plastic casing — this might not sound like a good idea, but it does work well and it keeps the device looking minimalistic.

In the set you also get a heat detector. This is almost identical to the other detectors in design and size, with the exception of a small protruding section in the centre.
Heat detectors are ideal for areas such as the kitchen, as they are far less prone to accidental triggering when cooking.

Because these alarms are interconnected, it means that should 1 of them be tripped, it will make all other connected alarms sound. This is great, as if a fire started downstairs whilst you were up stairs sleeping, you might not hear an alarm located on the ground floor and it could be too late by the time an alarm on the upper floor sounded. You can also test all of the alarms by simply pressing the button on one detector, or using the included remote control.

The battery fitted inside is designed to last for approximately 10 years, so you do not need to worry about replacing batteries, which I think is a great idea.

    ***** In The Box *****

    3 x SM11R4
    1 x HD11R
    4 x Mounting Plate
    4 x Adhesive Pads
8 x Screws and Wall Fixings
    1 x Remote Control + Battery
    1 x User Guide

    ***** Installation / Usage *****
Installation is very simple as expected.

You first need to switch on all of the devices by pressing and holding the centre of each alarm for around 10 seconds. Once everything is powered on, each device needs to be linked together. This is easy to do and simply involves pressing the mute/test button on each device twice in quick succession so that the LED indicators all begin to flash green. Now press the “Match” button on the remote and the lights should stop flashing to let you know that everything has been paired.

There is a detailed guide inside the user manual which tells you how far away from walls etc, that the detectors should be placed, so once you’ve found the best spot you can either screw the mounting plate to the wall or ceiling using the 3 screws, or use the included sticky pads and then twist the main body of the detector onto the plate to secure it into position. Finally, give the alarm a test by pressing the test button on one of the devices or by using the button on the remote.

    ***** Conclusion *****

I really like simple design and low profile of these devices and the fact that they are extremely easy to install and interlinked but require no wiring is a huge bonus.

I really like having a built in 10 year battery, as it means you don’t have to worry about replacing batteries or forgetting to change them yearly — you do of course still need to remember to test them regularly to make sure they are functioning correctly.

The remote control is a nice feature and would be especially useful should one of the devices be accidentally triggered and they are mounted on a high ceiling, as you won’t have to climb on a chair to press the silence button.

The build quality seems ok, but I have to say they do not feel quite as sturdy as the X-Sense ones I have been using. Having said that, the most important thing is that they do what they are designed to and they do it well with the alarm being extremely loud, as you would expect. They have also been TUV & CE Certified, meeting the appropriate standards.

The price seems to be about average for this type of product and is definitely cheaper than mains powered devices, making them the next best option.

Sometimes there are products that come along once in a while that are just so well thought out and simple to use without complication, no additional apps for the sake of it, no linking to Wi-Fi or downloading or dependence.
This is one of those products.
As you will see from the manufacturers video it is so simple to link these and additional units to give all round protection.
The units are so compact they will go unnoticeable. They have detachable fixing rings with all the supplied 3M fixing tapes, screws and plugs.
One heat detector and three smoke detectors in the set and the best small remote unit that only has two buttons to operate the system. This looks and feels premiumas does all the kit.
Additionally there are a number of conformity markings that while they don’t really mean much to me I feel assured by them.

The set up was extremely easy and took about 1 minute, the remote control makes life simple. The remote is used on initial set up and to test all the connected alarms. The quick guide tells you how to set up and everyone would find this straight forward.

The more detailed guide gives you a lot of information how to set up the alarms and where to position them in the house.

The units are well built and stand about an inch off the ceiling. You can use the double sided sticky ring to attach them or use the bracket with screws. I would advise the screws for a permanent fitting.

I already had some CP Van smoke alarms SM11R and these can be linked too. Essentially they become 1 large interlinked network and the remote control works on them all.

I am very happy with the smoke and heat alarms which are very loud. As soon as one alarm is triggered, the others almost instantly starting bleeping loudly.

The battery cannot be changed and the company indicate a 10 year lifespan. There is a date on the alarms to remind you when the time comes.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is the second system I recently purchased, after installing one for myself I wanted to Install a set in my Mothers house. My Mother’s house is an older house with very high ceilings which would be awkward to test the alarms every few months so I decided upon one with a remote control so testing would be easier.

I have had lots of products from CPVAN and all have performed very well with little or no issues so I choose this product over other ones.

The alarms are packaged very well and are secure from transport damage. Everything you would expect to be included for the installation is provided within the package.

I was really amazed at the size of these alarms, I expected them to be larger, I was also Surprised at the weight of each alarm.
I can see why there is no need to use the screws provided, the provided adhesive backings are all you would need.
The instructions were easily understood and the whole set up process took less than 5 minutes. However I redone the complete set up again via the remote control to test its functionality.

When pairing keep them all grouped together and the 4 quick presses on the heat sensing alarm followed by two quick presses on the other two is much easier when they are in front of you. Be sure to press really quickly, a slow action two presses will activate the test siren on the alarm.

TIP: A solution I came up with is that I wrote an Alexa Routine that upon hearing the beeping sound (a recent addition by Alexa for a Routine trigger) will alert my phone. So although the alarms are not technically recognised by Alexa the sound that they make are so by positioning an Alexa smart Speaker close to one of these alarms you can indeed create an effective alert routine, you obviously cannot power them on and off but as they are safety appliances you should not be able to.

In summary all homes should be protected by fire smoke/heat alarms. My requirements were met with this set especially as there were four of them, also a remote control which was required due to the high ceilings in my Mums house. I also created an away from home alert feature via an Alexa Routine so more than happy with my purchase.

As for the 10 year battery, time will tell.

A great product for easy remote testing.
