I rarely write reviews, but I’m really pleased with this – probably best to leave on for 10 minutes to make it even easier. So much easier that electric files or tin foil!

I wasn’t sure about the reviews regarding this product but with my nails weakening with the filing to remove shellac I thought I give it a go. Great product that works exactly as described.

It works so well, although be very careful with how you file off the gel beforehand as the remover can feel like it’s burning if the cuticles or nail bed are harmed. Other than that it’s so much easier than soak offs and can be carried anywhere.

Works great, no horrible smell and doesn’t damage nails (if you don’t force the varnish off). Took two goes to get all the varnish off but I think that’s because I didn’t do a thick enough layer the first time. Would recommend applying to all the fingers first and then going over them again before starting the 6 minute timer.

Glad I found this. I struggled to remove my nail polish before and this is just genius. I have to apply two layers per nail, but thats fine

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love either having my nails done, or doing my own gel nails, but HATE HATE HATE the process of taking the polish off. This stuff is AMAZING, it is a total game changer.

Depending on the thickness/type of polish, I find it sometimes needs to be on a couple of minutes more than the suggested 6-7 but that’s no bother as you can carry on about your day anyway as no need to wrap nails. Amazing.

Was a bit sceptical how well this would work but it’s so easy to use to and the gel comes off easily, I also like that don’t have to wear clips or keep your fingers in a bowl for ages and just have to wait a few minutes to work

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI really bought this thinking it’s a gimmick, but I was deseperate to try anything because I don’t have patience for foils to do its thing. And filing it off my nails caused serious breakage

People who say this doesn’t work, pls follow INSTRUCTIONS:

Using the white block provided in your nail kit, BUFF your nails so the shine goes away.

Then apply the polish to just the polish. Wait for maybe 3mins

Using the sticks provided in your nail kit, or any stick/file even, peel it off.
I only needed one coat and it peeled off in mins.

Love it!!!! Another smash hit by mylee

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis product has saved me the torture of foils and acetone! I’ve spent years dreading the removal of gel nails, it’s such a tedious job.

This gel remover has made my life so much easier. It does not take half as much effort. I still file the gel down – especially if I have glitter on. But then I just have to paint this on and wait.

No burning myself with acetone getting into micro cuts you can’t see.
No having to warm up heat pads and sit there for 10 minutes only to remove the foils and nothing has lifted.. repeat repeat.
No tedious scraping where nothing will come off.

You paint this gel on, it takes about 5 minutes maybe for the gel to start bubbling and it all wipes off easily. Absolutely fantastic!

My only issue with it is sometimes I’ve had to put a couple of layers on and it feels like there isn’t much in the bottle because it’s so thick. So I’m not sure how long it will last. It has probably taken off around 10 pairs though so far. So it is pricier than the alternative but so much easier! And you don’t have a load of stinging to contend with like acetone! Will definitely buy again.

You can actually feel this removing the gel. So much easier than soaking. Takes about 7/8 minutes to get it removed. Not sure how many times the bottle will last for but I’m impressed so far.

I love wearing gels, but I absolutely hate trying to remove them. This product is simply a revolution, and an amazing alternative to soaking and wrapping. I simply buffed off the shiny surface of my gels, applied the gel remover and left it for just over five minutes, and then was able to quickly and effectively scrape away the old gel. There were a couple of nails where I had to put another coat on a few spots, but after a few minutes these came away and I was left with perfectly clean nails in around 15 minutes all up. A game changer for me and I love this product!

I gave this product a huge challenge! I had added an additional colour and top coat to my “Christmas” nails and was apprehensive about removing it all. Enter Mylee magic gel remover.. My word was I impressed! I am not a patient person and I’m sure leaving another couple of minutes would have made removal even easier, but even skimping on the contact time by about 2 mins, I was able to remove the gel, almost peeling it off, with ease. I did need to apply a second coat to a couple of stubborn areas but I fully recommend this product. I think this product will encourage me to apply gel more often, now I can remove it easily!

  20. Jane says:

     United Kingdom 🇬🇧

Very easy to apply and works reasonably well, I found you need to leave the gel on for 10 minutes rather than recommending 6 minutes. Sometimes requires a second application.
Nevertheless it is so much better than soaking.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersProduct was a thick easy to apply gel.
Pre filed my gel polish as suggested, within a couple of minutes you could feel gel was working.
My nails had a builder gel on under my gel polish so it took three applications of gel to totally remove it all. I helped the removal along with a wooden cuticle stick & emery board file down in-between each application
Simple, easy & a lot cheaper than a saloon removal

Obviously this is not a miracle product, but it helps when removing my (homemade) gel and extensions. My natural nails didn’t break even after the extension removal (which usually happens) and they seem healthy and fine.

  25. Ginna says:

This product is far superior to the foil technique as it’s faster, the only thing with it is to not let it touch your skin at all otherwise it burns
You have to apply maybe 2/3 coats for it to really penetrate, however, I will continue to purchase this product as it’s less messy than the liquid solutio

  26. Anonymous says:

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have only ever bothered to soak my nails off once or twice, and I’ve been doing them myself for about 5 years. I can never be bothered to wait that long and also do have quite sensitive skin, so always end up picking the polish off. Finding this stuff has probably saved my nail health! Its so quick and is so much easier than soaking or picking. I have found that it has gone quite clumpy and dry so I have to try quite hard to get some out every time. And usually have to apply, scrape, then repeat once more so it’s not perfect. But I’ll be buying it again.

I’m not a nail expert by any means & struggle to remove my gels with acetone so though I’d give this a try. What a game changer, takes me well over an hour to remove with acetone, I tried this out on just one nail when I had to redo gel due to a broken nail. After just 10mins it had completely bubbled & I was able to remove about 95% of polish, the remaining gel I got off with a nail file in seconds, can’t wait to try when I need to remove from all nails, plus will be able to do both hands at same time unlike with acetone wraps. I don’t understand people saying it does not work, they must be using a cheap gel that is harder to remove (I used IBD gel) or not prepping nail first.
I buffed with a 100/180 file to completely remove top coat, evenly applied a thick layer & waited 10 mins, came off very easy with cuticle pusher & remaining gel easily filed off.

    Little bottle of magic

I was sceptical at first but this actually does work, exactly as described! As long as you ensure you remove the top coat by buffing & then cover the gel & wait a short while, the gel will remove by gently buffing it. A little more may, occasionally, be required. Good stuff! I’d definitely recommend

Not bad at all, filled off the top of my ‘gel

Needed to remove gel nail polish from my toes but didn’t have time to get to the salon. Thought this would be easier than soaking in acetone – and it was. Buffed the shiny layer of gel off, painted on and waited. Took longer than the 6 minutes it says, and a couple of toes took 2 applications, but with the aid of some manicure sticks to scrape the polish off my toenails were completely clear in less than 20 minutes in total. And plenty left in the bottle for next time so much cheaper than the salon.

It removes mylee gel with ease. I usually have 4 layers of polish on and it can eat through them well. Sometimes needs two applications. However once I had a high quality salon polish on and it didn’t budge at all. I guess it depends on the polish. I am happy with it, works as expected. My only concern is the safety of the product as I read some scary stuff online saying it’s toxic and same thing as paint stripper. Hopefully Mylee formulation is more gentle, but no claim of that written any wear. Be mindful if you have sensitive skin and prone to allergies. I have no problem with it but I assume it is some strong solvent since the polish literally melts away.

Having used cheap versions previously, I waited for the price to drop on the Mylee version before buying it. It is far superior to other versions I’ve used and definitely worth the money.

It is more liquid than other types and less of a wallpaper paste consistency so I was worried that it would not work as well. However, it worked faster and easier than the other versions – I left it on for 10-12 minutes to avoid having to put a second application on and the varnish came off straight away without much pushing. That was base coat, top coat and three layers of gel varnish.

I’ve just bought a second bottle while it’s on offer. Definitely recommended.

I’ve never had to do this before but because of Lockdown and therefore not being able to go back to the Salon to have my Shellac toenail polish removed I needed to have a go myself. So I bought this product based on the good reviews. The bottle is small and a bit pricey so I was hoping for the best result and I wasn’t disappointed! I followed the advice from previous reviewers – thank you! And I
would add to that – give yourself a little time to do this and be patient. I buffed my nails and then applied the remover. I (patiently) left it on for a little while (5-6 minutes) and then used my metal nail file to scrape the varnish away. I needed to apply another coat to a couple of nails which were being a bit stubborn and waited again and then all was removed. My nails looked as though they needed a bit of TLC so I gave my feet a nice soak and then applied a good moisturiser with almond oil rubbing in well around my nails. I think I’ll continue to do this for a few days before painting my nails again and then I think I’ll go back to my usual nail varnish as it’s all a bit of a faff but MYGEL definitely does get the job done!!!

This product was better than I expected but not life changing. Definitely easier than wrapping fingers in foil but didn’t save that much time. Generally good value for money but as the product is thick I could imagine using quite a lot of it at a time and needing to replace regularly. I would continue to use this product over acetone and foil wraps.

    Good but not life changing!

I bought this because it promised speed and simplicity in stripping shellac off nails. It does. It kind of smells like shoe polish, so sit somewhere ventilated or airy. The smell isn’t going to knock you out, but if you don’t like the smell of shoe polish…………….. Buff all the top coat first, like you would with foil wraps, then paint a layer on making sure the full nail is coated. When you’ve finished applying, go over the coat again as it does tend to dry slightly and lose the potency. Blob the second coat on and set a timer. I set mine for 5 minutes and that’s usually enough. For me, it was easy, relatively mess free and it does work, so I’ll be buying this again and also looking at their range of shellacs. This works with MyGel/Mylee and Beetles. Probably works just as well with other shellac brands.

I am a HUGE fan of this gel removal polish! It is absolutely amazing and very easy to use. I also think it’s great value for money. Only a few other brands have started this trend and are selling similar products, but none I have found work as well and this one and are as well priced. The previous brand I had was from Candy Coat and they sell theirs for about 20 a bottle. I bought 2 of these for the same price.

I have my own at home gel nail polishes. When ready to change them, all you need to do is lightly buff the top coat off your nails, apply this gel over it and leave for a few minutes. The gel remover allows you to very easily then use a stencil (or whatever you have to hand) to just scrape the gel polish off with absolutely no damage to your natural nails. It also doesn’t hurt, burn or sting.

I highly recommend and I will most definitely be purchasing again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s a great product that genuinely seems to lift gel nail varnish off really quickly. I’m super impressed with that. However, it was pretty painful to use as it clearly constricts the varnish somehow and forced my nails into a really tight curve so my nails were pressing into my skin (see pic of nail arch with product on compared to nails after it was all off). If you can bear the discomfort for the 5/10 mins it takes the product to work then it’s great!

    Effective but pretty uncomfortable

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersNail gel being removed was salon applied – Mylee.
My own nails are very, very strong so a main concern for me is removing gel without taking nail layer off and ending up with weak nails.
Product easy to apply (do shake it first), no mess, no smell – a bit like wallpaper paste.
I did file the top layer first as it instructs.
Left it on for 10 minutes. Small amount bubbling as it lifts but nothing like you get with the Cotton wool & foil removal so don’t expect that.
I used an old metal nail file point to lift the gel and remove it. It is easy enough to scratch it off that way but I wish I’d waited until the proper scraper tool had been delivered- as can be seen in the photos the initial treatment probably only got 95% off at first attempt. I’ve since applied it again to the scrappy bits and buffed. Happy to say nails feel fine, no soreness to the nail bed and though tiny bit rough they are still strong and not damaged like the occasion I was peeling them
Overall good, easiest method I’ve come across but definitely get the scraper tool.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best method I’ve found

I tried this on my thumb nail first as I was a little skeptical, I followed the instructions and buffed the nail down before applying. It took around 4 coats to fully get the gel polish off which is the same amount of coats of gel polish I put on. Like other people I did experience slight curling of the nail at the sides however this went when I fully washed the solution off. I do not think I will use this every time to remove my gel polish but it’s a handy thing to have in my nail bag!

It took off my shellac quite easily in two coats but I also had acrylics on and it did work eventually it just wasn’t an easy or painless process! It’s definitely good to have as a backup to getting them taken off professionally (like during a pandemic) but I don’t think I would be bothered to use it again unless it was an emergency. But if you just have shellac or gel on then it shouldn’t be too bad! I also recommend an electric nail grinder tool (they’re not expensive I used a 10 one that I actually got for my dog) to help rather than using a manual scraper because it’s just painful!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI wanted to buy the special remover for my shellac but due to the lockdown situation most were sold out. I then came across this and decided to give it a go. It was okay. I applied it and waited for the time stated. However, that was not long enough for all my nails. I had to scrape off the layer that came off and apply another layer of the polish on some of my nails to remove the remaining shellac. It was a bit of a long job but it worked better than I expected. My nails came out fairly unscratched; just a small level of splitting.

Certainly less faff to use, but does seems to take ages to get off, I always need to apply it twice with a fair bit of scraping in between. Handy in the sence that I do my own nails & easier than trying to wrap and clip your own fingers with your less dominant hand. It’s also gone very gloopy, not sure if that effects it or not, I’m not 100% sold on it. If your asking does it remove nail polish then yes it does.
