Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have absolutely no experience using a Microscope, but I will say this, I took it out of the box, set it up and was looking at my dogs hair in a matter of minutes. The only negative, I will say, is having to go to the web for instructions as well as some really sticky tape on the surface of the tray which was a pain to take off.

I want to start by saying this is a good microscope for the price. The optics are fairly decent for non plan objectives. The build is solid however I’ve ran into an issue with the condenser mechanism not wanting to stay close to the slide when raised. I bought a darkfield condenser and when I raise it close to the slide (almost touching it) It dosnt want to stay locked in the position at the top and slowly falls down making it very annoying trying to view specimens using the darkfield condenser. I have no idea how to tighten or prevent this from happening. i have to put my finger underneath it to hold it up. That is my only con with this microscope. The video is suprisingly decent quality. I do plan on upgrading the optics to plan objectives eventually. Im giving this 4 stars because this annoyance with the condenser mechanism not staying in the position makes viewing with a darkfield condenser a hassle.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersWe got this microscope for using with my son’s HomeSchool curriculum. The idea was to purchase one that would be reliable for a few years. He loves Science. This microscope has made him love it more. It’s opened doors for him and actually blown his mind. It has him looking around at the world around him, hunting possible samples to study.
Within the first day, he surpassed my abilities and was showing me how to achieve goals with his scope.

Wow what a great buy! I purchased this microscope for a project I I was working on in biology I wanted to resell it, but I fell In love with it. It’s one of the best buys here at Amazon and I’ve purchased many cheaper microscopes but non tops this one!

Bought this for grandson visits. I’ve viewed some prepared slides and purchased some books for entry level microscope use. We will go for a walk and collect water samples from a nearby swimming hole to look at. I’ll be able to send them home with pictures. Hoping this will keep them interested, for a little while, in science during their visits. I’ve planned finger painting as a back-up plan in case they get bored with science…and to delight my daughter and daughter-in-law when they come to pick them up. It’s good to be a Grandpa!

When I was a kid I had a microscope that showed me nothing but blurry
blotches. I hoped this would be slightly better. But It was not…
It is 1000 times, oil immersion, monsters-in-the-birdbath-better.

I wish I had this as a kid.
To my layman’s eye, the optics are good – nice and
clear and with a flat enough field.

The view through the USB camera is at least as good as through the eyepieces.

The only trouble I have had with it is actually with the scopeimage software that
comes with it. I have never been able to capture video – the files
are always empty. Still-image captures are no problem though.

For a hobby/entertainment, this is a good deal. I can actually see things with it, and it wasn’t super expensive.
I would definitely buy this again.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersGot it for FEC testing on the farm. Egg counting performed at 100x and scope slide and controls work well. Have viewed eggs and other “finds” at 400x and used the camera to save images to tablet. Been years since I was in a science lab at school so it may not be fair for me to say this. But I am very impressed with the quality and price of this piece of equipment. Attached photos are from a 400x closeup

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAs an avid home brewer, ordered this microscope to perform basic QA/QC of my home brews (cell counts to determine and reproduce pitching rates) and decided to get the model with the digital camera. Reasoning that I could take a picture of the hemocytometer and not have to hunch over a microscope to count cells.
Customer service: When the microscope arrived, the camera software was on a small disc, that does not work with a slot drive. Also, in the first day, I managed to misplace the owners manual; unpacked it and put it somewhere safe. Not quite sure where that somewhere is. Upon emailing customer support, I received a return in email within 4 hours with the link to download the camera driver and software and a pdf of the manual. Great customer service.
Microscope and Software: Fantastic for viewing yeast. Have already looked at several different cultures and used the microscope to confirm that our one culture was actively growing. Have only used up to the 40X objective with the 20X optics, but nice clear image. That translates well to the computer screen. Software is easy to use. Icons easy to figure out to save (capture) images.
Don’t even hesitate to buy. Especially if it is on sale.
Thank you Tina from MicroscopeNet for your fantastic customer service!

Great microscope! The 20x viewer paired with the 40x scope is phenominal. And it still goes up to 100x. The things I have seen so far are just amazing. I strictly use this for hobby, not research or work related, so my review is more towards hobby. The build quality is solid, this thing is well structured. The focus ring and directional rings are very smooth and precise to use. The light adjustment is also great to work with. Slides dont pinch down but on its sides so easy to put a slide in and out. The camera quality connecting to a pc is only like 1280 1160 or something, but when setting pc monitor, inhave a 4k to that resolution, it works well and is quite clear for that resolution. Not great, but clear to see whats going on. For the price if you are going to use the pc connector, go for it. But looking through the eyepiece is better obviously. If you really want the pc view opt for the 500 dollar or so one with higher resolution.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersI am a total amateur and on a whim, used an Amazon gift card to buy this. I am still in the “getting to know you” phase but I have used it enough to really start enjoying figuring it all out. My laptop did not recognize the small CD, so I emailed MicroscopeNet and they emailed me links to the camera software and the drivers. I installed both and they work beautifully. The email also included links to manuals for the microscope and for the imaging software. I printed both and they have helped me get started and be more comfortable with working with the microscope and the software.
For my first slide I used a piece of my cuticle, since it was just hanging there. I set it on a slide and put a drop of water and a cover slip over it and put it under the microscope and everything was black. I immediately panicked, but then I looked through the manual and I needed to take the lens caps off and put the eye pieces in. My cuticle showed up eyepoppingly large on my laptop screen (see cuticle photo). Next I put a drop of rain water from a puddle (see photo) in the driveway on a slide with a cover and at a very high power, I saw tiny critters moving/swimming around.
I have used the software to take a video of a prepared slide I bought (a bees leg). I just got information from MicroscopeNet for how to capture a photo with the imaging software.
I’m really enjoying this experience just for my own personal pleasure.

Still fiddling with it, but for the price I don’t know if you could beat this microscope. My biology teacher says you can’t get a good microscope for under a thousand dollars, but I think I will bring this one in just to show her the quality of the images I’m getting. I was cautious about the quality, but I’m really impressed with it. I might come back later with pictures of slides, I’m still exploring the monitor functions.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt’s an inexpensive scope but I was surprised by it’s quality. Solid, rigid metal base and heavy. Choice of 4 lens. The 40X lens starts to come into sharp focus very very close to the top of the slide where you have your sample, so be sure to have a cover glass over the sample, or you’ll get contaminates on the lens!! The software is nice, easy to use, allows you to add measurement rules to your images. You won’t be disappointed!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPacked well. Arrived in a reasonable time.

Works… although I am disappointed in the effort needed to get clear max (2000x) magnification. Potential buyers need to know that the magnified image shown in the ad could be misleading as to what this microscope will do. I’ll work to reduce my learning curve to get clear max magnification to work but for now I am of the opinion that hype may be the norm among the suppliers and OMAX does NOT appear to be an exception.

I also purchased slides and pipettes. These came at a reasonable price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOver all very happy with this device after just one day. I haven’t used a microscope since high-school (in the 80’s!) and was able to view samples of cat hair and tiny slices of mango within just a couple of minutes. I will need some practice before using the oil immersion technique but there are lots of videos on Youtube which can be used for reference.

No issues installing the software, connecting, or making videos. In fact, within 1 hour had made a video of liquid flowing out of the mango slice and uploaded it to Youtube. The device is compact, solidly constructed, and quite accurate.

Works great for Live and Dried Blood Analysis and it gives you the ability to see everything you need to see, I love it and for less than $300.00 you just cant go wrong. I recommend this 100%.

I am new to microscopy so cannot make comparisons with past use. I’m much more experienced with binoculars and spotting scopes. So as a newbie I am so far very pleased with this microscope and plan to use this extensively in various naturalist projects. The OMAX is very solid and entirely substantial. It is very intuitive to adjust and very easy to store when not in use. I am planning a pond water study and I think this will be perfect – especially the digital features. I would not hesitate to recommend this microscope.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this for an 8 year old and by evening on Christmas he was able to use it himself. He has never hooked it up to a computer, and just has it in his room, but it is fine for looking at all kinds of pre-made slides and things he finds. He has not used the oil immersion, but that’s ok since it can build up on the scope and “cloud” your viewing if you don’t clean the oil off properly. He’s a little young to understand what he’s seeing if it’s really tiny (bacteria) using oil anyway. This microscope is very good quality – vastly better than the toy microscopes we had as kids. Note that the slides have sharp edges, and of course they are glass, so don’t give one of these to a kid who is careless and rough with it. It is a scientific instrument, but simple enough for a careful kid to use.

For the price, awesome. Is it a Zeiss or Olympus? No. But you can see as well on well prepared slides as you can on the more expensive instruments. I have been using microscopes for 50 years, but didn’t have one recently so went for this. Software for the cam worked well, even though my computer runs XP. Professional quality seeing at a baggain price. Only complaint is that there is some wobble but when slight push on the stage, but againn this scope is not as massive as ones costing 10X more.

I haven’t used it much yet, but so far has been a terrific experience. The microscope came almost entirely ready to go, very simple to set up. I’m still trying to get used to the focusing and have not yet tried the immersion oil. It came with that latter item and a dust cover too. I bought (separately) some prepared slides (and blanks, stain, wipes, etc). I found a YouTube about the microscope setup to be VERY helpful in figuring out the adjustment knobs, and connecting the microscope to my laptop (extremely simple!). The software that is supplied for the computer has several adjustments for color, contrast, etc, and I can get a pretty good image on the computer, though perhaps not as perfect as looking through the eye pieces.
The hardest part for me has been learning the terminology (haven’t succeeded yet), such as objectives, but YouTube is helping me figure it out.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe were given a cheap $50 microscope kit for our daughters. They were so excited to receive it and play… to be suddenly dashed into frustration and sadness when the images through the microscope were so blurry as to be useless. Seeing their enthusiasm remaining to play with the plastic toy even though it could never do what they hoped, we decided to obtain a real microscope to connect to our computer to foster their love of exploration and science.

This microscope is AMAZING. The images that came from it on the same slide that the previous $50 scope saw as blurry somethings were suddenly in sharp focus with amazing detail! Took about a minute to figure out how to operate the optics, zooming around until we were actually focussed on our slide instead of through the slide into the light source. Then pure beauty.

The feel of it is hefty and quality. The control knobs (coarse and fine scale) for zoom and pan are magnificent and lab-grade. Installing the software was flawless and instantly started working the moment we ran it. I have no complaints, as I will be using this exclusively for broadcasting what we’re seeing up on a large monitor so all can see.

Ignore the users that complain about a lack of manual. The company sends a white paper that contains the weblink to download a thorough manual, and emailed me after the transaction to ensure I got the link.

I cannot be happier. I feel like I just saved my daughters’ interests in science and microscopy singlehandedly through this purchase.

Spend the money, and enjoy the quality. You won’t regret it.

I got this for my little nephew for Christmas. Excellent quality. He loves it as does his older brother who is also fascinated by the world that the microscope opens up. An age appropriate book on cells, a set of prepared cell slides, and blank slides are not very expensive and worth it as an add on. The image on the PC is great and really catches the kids imagination. My husband purchased the higher image microscope for two of his grandkids.
Based on his recommendation I purchased this one and if the nephews show a sustained interest, I will consider a more advanced one for them. The microscope company seems very attentive and they must monitor the Amazon reviews and some of the challenges people have setting up the microscopes because they sent multiple emails about instructions and whom to contact if assistance is needed. Extremely satisfied with this purchase in terms of quality and customer service.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt is my first microscope, so I did a lot of research and this seemed the best for the money. It took me a little while of playing to get it; once I did it was awesome, Although I am having a bit of a hard time with the binocular, and usually use one eyepiece or the just watch it on the screen, this is a personal issue and no fault of the design. The computer software that came with it looked good but I could not find software to review the movies that I made with while viewing protist doing their thing. I suggest using the driver that come with it and use other software like Adobe Premier if you want to keep the movie for later. I contacted support once, and they were quick, efficient and courteous. Overall I think I got an excellent deal for the money. However, it I could rate the 1/2 it would get 4 1/2 stars and that is just because of the software.
One last hint, don’t expect to see protist in every drop of water. Also you will see some zooming by, if you want to see those view youtube for iodine stain. Be patient, have fun.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersTo my amateur eyes, this is a fairly well-made semi-pro (?) microscope. I did a fair amount of research before buying it, and it has many features that are recommended (X/Y stage, LED light, iris-type condenser, etc.). The images it produces at the eyepiece are clear…

…and DISGUSTING. Oh. My. God. The things that live in our bird bath – I don’t understand why the birds aren’t flopping down dead all over the back yard. And the local lake was just as bad. I don’t even want to think how many rotifers are swimming up my nose every time we swim there. Ugh, I just thought about it.

The built-in camera is not stellar, but it’s pretty good. Plenty of resolution to see the innards of the various creepy crawlies breeding in that glass of water you let sit out overnight. We have found several tardigrades (“water bears”) and the camera can capture their individual toes, when focused properly. We have captured good stills and video footage using the included software.

For any educational or hobby use, I think this microscope would work very well. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI read the reviews of this and decided that for the price – how could I go wrong? Being as how this is the first microscope I have ever owned (or used), I cannot bring a lot of experience or knowledge to bear in writing a review. I have a total of about 12 hours on this unit.

Finding online support for this HAS BEEN IMPOSSIBLE – and if you find it please share it with me. Finding the manufacturer’s website is not easy and as best as I can make out, it might be omaxDOTenDOTec21DOTcom – there are other Omax companies. I am not sure if it is the mfgr’s website or yet another distributor’s website – I did leave a request for a support website. What seems clear is that whoever the mfgr is, they do not want to deal with end-users and that is a consideration.

As for how one would check for updates to the software or drivers, or get an update when Micro$loth breaks your microscope software & drivers with their next update/version of Winders, it is anybody’s guess. So far everything has been working well.

I bought this to help me get through my labs for Biology, Microbiology, A&P-1&2 for nursing school. Being an ‘older’ student, my vision is not what it used to be (presbyopia) and sharing a microscope with classmates requires much adjustment every time I get on the microscope. With the digital camera and software on the computer, I don’t even fight with my reading glasses and use the optics of the microscope – it is FAR EASIER to view, focus, and manage everything using the computer screen.

Also, I am getting into beekeeping and will (hopefully) be using this to dissect my bees to inspect for parasites. When I begin using it for that I will probably come back and update this with additional material.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat piece of equipment. This thing is amazing for the price. The money you do pay for this thing seems like pennies when you get to using it. I am so happy with this buy. Best money ever spent. Very cool experience for both my family and my wife’s classroom. Highly recommend this microscope.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this for my teenage daughter who loves science. However, I seem to be using it as much as her. Excellent magnification and very sturdy feel to it. So worth the extra money compared to the cheaply built kids stuff. Would recommend this to anyone with a science minded child that wishes to promote learning through experience.

This microscope is extremely high quality for the price and was purchased as a Christmas gift. The unit arrived in perfect condition. Unfortunately, my teenage daughter was not interested in using the item, so I had to return it. The customer service was excellent – I highly recommend this microscope as well as the company selling it.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought this for a little informal home-schooling for my kids. They are very young (4 & 5) so I send them out to find things, we cut them up then superglue them to slides (if we want to keep them). We then look at them and capture pictures on the laptop. I’m no microscope expert, but the setup works very well with excellent clarity and accurate focus. I don’t ever use the 100x lens so can’t comment on the really high magnifications. The built-in camera is a must with the kids.

The only minor issue I have had is that if the light is left on at full power for several minutes, it repeatedly switches off then on. I presume it is overheating. A short break or turning it down fixes the issue, but lose 1 star for not being perfect!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love love love this scope. I love to be able to plug it in to my computer and display the image on my TV screen. It is so much nicer to look up at a big TV than to strain your neck all day staring through the eyepieces. The picture taking program is also really neat because it allows you to adjust lighting and color balance to highlight certain things and makes viewing much easier than looking at things in native color. Would recommend to anyone looking to get a good microscope for a good price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m very happy with this Omax microscope. Many features found only much more expensive scopes. The software for stills or video worked well, 1st time, without any study or hassle. The optics are clear, the binocular adjustments easy, eye relief and exit pupil were good. I like the LED light for the magnifications I use (100, 400x). A high end microscope for little more $ than the bargain ‘scopes.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have delayed buying a microscope for 2 years because I could never find a high quality package for the price I was happy to pay. I had not expected to be able to afford the Digital LED version and so was intrigued when I saw the good reviews. I was convinced when I saw one of these at a local school lab and had a chance to test it.

I have been THRILLED with my purchase. I have used it to analyze fungal spores, plankton and rotifers in local fresh water samples. People who have never been involved in microscopy are fascinated by the things I show them and my kids have had a whole new world opened to them.

This is a not a toy microscope – it is the real deal.

So glad I found this product. I am going to buy another for my father.

I’ve been wanting a microscope that would allow me to capture images on the computer and this purchase was perfect. The only drawback was that instructions for the microscope were not included in the package when it arrived; but I received a follow-up email from the manufacturer and told them about the missing manual. They immediately sent a PDF which I printed (about 12 pages long).
My focus of attention is on mushroom spores; using the micro-details to identify the difference between two similar looking species. The price was just right for this little beauty. No regrets.

I bought this as a Christmas present and didn’t know what response to expect. Glad I did! The response was great and even I’ve been playing with it , I purchased a total of 215 prepared slides, blank slices and 300 cover slips! A friend picked up the silver hardshell case as a additional present which brought the whole thing together!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis microscope is well worth the money. It worked perfectly within minutes of opening the box! The enclosed CD makes interfacing the microscope to the computer a breeze. It’s cool to look at a video display of the microscope image on the computer screen. You may find another one to be as good, but any other couldn’t be better.
My primary concern was the mechanics of the stage movement(s). All axes were good, as well as the quality optics. We bought it for my grandson, a student in Chemistry/Biology at Appalachian State University, and he has really enjoyed it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI got my daughter this machine for Christmas. It’s fanatastic and we both love it. We have a MAC and use Photobooth and it’s great to see live images of cells (some of them alive). We can also take video from Photobooth so have done that. She said it’s the same microscope she used in school in AP Bio so she knew how to use it. This is a sophisticated piece of equipment so not good for children but middle school and up through college would be fine. Great for the price as well!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersPurchased this microscope for our new brewery lab. We really don’t need a super fancy microscope. The only thing I don’t like about it is the fact that the stage is open right above the light. There is no glass there. Every microscope I have used in the past has a piece of glass there.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe bought this microscope for observing phytoplankton at a marine nature center. The OMAX is easy for students and casual visitors to operate. When we display the images on our large 42 inch monitor a whole group can observe and identify the cells at once. This is perfect for instruction; we have gained a huge interest in our phytoplankton project from using this microscope attached to the large screen display. Participants like to “capture” images and store them as jpeg photo files for future reference. We can easily show others photos of phytoplankton cells that were observed in past water samples. My only objection is the lack of a carrying case. I would prefer to purchase a microscope with its own ready-to-go case.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI am an engineer (electrical) so I have used a microscope something like 10 times in high school. I needed one now to do fecal floats for our dogs and wanted a decent one with a USB camera attached. For the money this one rocks. It seems well made and is fully functional. Unfortunately, its devilry beat my slides, so I cant really test out the magnification/clarity, but my immediate impression is very good. One issue is the supplied software – the mini CD did not read in any of my computes and there is no apparent download link. I imagine that OMAX will not be easy to contact for support after a quick search for the software was useless. The drivers did download and install properly (MS Win 7, SP 1) and I found a free camera software (oasis scientific ehe_v2.exe) that works perfectly with the microscope. If you want a good microscope for cheap, I recommend this one.

UPDATE: I got a nice email from the seller basically saying it is up to me to contact the manufacturer (OMAX) to have any problems resolved (like getting software that works, any problems with the scope, ect). If I cannot contact the mfg. they will issue a refund and take the scope back. So, like I said initially, good scope for the price, but good luck if anything goes wrong as you are on your own as far as I can tell. I changed my rating from 4 to 3 because of the initial lack of available customer suppo

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is not going to be the best Microscope you can buy but quite likely could be the best for the price you will pay. The quality of this Microscope is great and construction seems very well built. You might want to purchase a case for it but everything you need comes with the microscope. The only drawback was that the manual disk/cd would not work on my MacBook Pro and the URL link provided with the microscope was in error but an email to the vendor was quickly answered with a valid copy of the manual. What more could you ask for?

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis microscope is very well built and does it’s job properly, the price is fair considering it has a camera built-in to connect to a computer for live viewing ! I waited many years to buy a microscope because of high price, but now was the time, and i recommend it to anyone beginning in that domain, i mean looking at blood samples, bacteria and so on.
The only drawback is that you will have to buy glass slides and cover slips because there is none included.
If you have more budget, look for a camera with higher resolution (megapixels), this one has only 1.3 MP and the picture is good but with a higher resolution the picture would havec higher details.
Sturdy unit, good name, works well, easy to use or learn, fair price, software installation easy (windows 7,64 bits). Great !

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersI bought this for the 10-year-old budding scientist in my family, and he couldn’t be happier with it. He was posting videos of microorganisms within hours. The quality of the parts and assembly impressed me; I had an image of budget microscopes as being flimsy and marginally useful, but this one is solid and functions well. We had a bit of difficulty with the documentation at first: there wasn’t one scrap of paper in the packaging that described how to get started. The viewing software on the disc didn’t function on either a Windows laptop or a Mac laptop. After a brief communication with the maker (who reached out to us, rather than the other way around) we found the documentation and driver online and were up and running. Outdated software and drivers is endemic among most consumer products, in my experience.

Features I especially like: being able to move a slide on two axes without touching it, using the nicely machined mechanism on the stage. The dimmable lamp below the stage. The heavy, solid feel of the eyepieces and viewer. The solid base.

I recommend getting an inexpensive assortment of blank and mounted slides with the purchase, since the microscope doesn’t come with any. There’s also a nice soft carrying case you can get for this instrument.

I purchased this microscope because I am very interested in microbiology. This is my very first microscope and it is amazing. It’s very easy to use. The only thing I didn’t like was that the CD for the software was small and my computer is an all-in-one computer.I had to copy the software onto a USB and transfer it to my computer because my CD drive didn’t take the CD. Other than that I’m so glad I bought this microscope. 5 stars for an amazing product!

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI’m a beekeper. I need to look at bee guts. I’ve tried every method of doing that known to man. I’ve used incantations, chicken bones, and every potion I can find. One day this monk from one of these new post modern religions approached me with a potential solution. He said it was called science. I personally think Tom Cruise is maybe a little delusional, but I LOVE his work, so I figured I’d give it a try. He mashed some of my bee guts up in a mortar and pestle, the beginnings of any good potion, then had me look through the two magic crystals. There was everything I needed to see before my wondering eyes! Now I don’t now what kind of magic went into the making of this mystical microscope, but it seems to be of the ancient elvish arts. Very sturdy and very strong, yet not overly hefty – the craftsmanship is impeccable! For the price, this was an EXCELLENT purchase. I’ve paid more for a good reliable dowsing stick! I hope to be using this microscope for many decades to come and pass it down as an heirloom to my children’s children. Thanks!

Golden Review Award: 105 From Our UsersI opened this packaging and there it was–when I lifted it from the styrofoam packing, it was heavy, sturdy, and right away I could tell it was the real deal, you know what I mean? Having extensive experience in bacteriology and mycology, use of the compound light microscope is a specialty of mine, and this scope has got what it takes. Most important, one can get achieve clear images at 1000x magnification with the 100x objective and oil immersion–the optics are solid. On top of that, the built-in 1.3 megapixel camera (with accompanying disk containing software and drivers–easily installed) plugs right into your laptop and bam! What you are seeing in the ocular (eyepiece) is displayed in real time on your screen, as you move about the slide impressing (or boring to death) your friends, relatives, and beloved co-workers who never would have known otherwise what a brilliant preudo-microbiologist you were!

Point blank….typically scopes under $1000 don’t deliver at oil immersion since the optics limit capabilities. BUT THIS OMAX IS SOLID and is reliable at high magnification, which is what you probably need.

Thanks OMAX….when I researched the scope I thought it was too good to be true. It works how I dreamed it would and more!

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersI am very pleased with the OMAX microscope I purchased recently. The brand new microscope came very fast and works perfectly. The resolution and magnification are excellent and I was surprised to find a good microscope this inexpensive. It is not very large and perfect for studying microbiological specimens. I am a microbiology professor and this microscope is better than the ones in my classroom. What makes this scope even better is the ability to view the specimen from your computer. I am very happy with the quality and the price of this microscope and the business that sells it. I would definitely recommend this microscope and the company.

Golden Review Award: 165 From Our UsersI am a former junior college adjunct professor responsible for lecturing and providing instruction to students in the areas of biology, microbiology and zoology. I am also an environmental toxicologist and epidemiologist with 25 years of experience responsible for supporting projects for fortune 100/500 companies as well as governmental agencies.

To adequately review and determine potential issues of human health and ecological adverse impacts, field chemical sampling of media and biological tissue species samples are often required. I selected Omax’s Digital Binocular Compound Microscope to assist me in my efforts for the following reasons:

    1. Quality – As an environmental health consultant, I often have to demonstrate and identify issues “real-time” as well as via analytical extrapolation. A good digital microscope should be a high quality instrument-piece of equipment. I found my microscope to meet such criteria.
    2. User Friendly – The software with the digital microscope has to be user friendly, which is exactly what the Omax MD82ES10 has.
    3. Reasonable Cost- It was hard to resist the reasonable cost of this brilliantly design digital binocular microscope. To be honest, it was a bargain and an easy sell to my wife.

If you are a professional scientist, college graduate or just a science buff, I highly recommend and suggest that you look into purchasing an Omax microscope for your needs.

The microscope is robustly constructed and has many nice features. The computer camera is a nice addition. It is not HD resolution, but at the price I can’t complain. Note that focusing in the eye piece and the computer camera is not the same and it can be difficult to get the camera focused at the highest magnification. This is a great microscope for a budding young student interested in microbiology. The computer camera can be great for making science fair presentations.

Golden Review Award: 80 From Our Users“I recently purchased this microscope and after several days of use, I realized this microscope is well worth how much we have paid. The LED light is bright and the control is very smooth! I was little hesitate before making the purchase decision since the price for this typical microscope was lower than some other similar models. Luckily, I found a review for this “OMAX 40X-2000X Biological Compound Microscope” on YouTube and it was really helpful. I asked the seller and been told this is just the same model, but with a built-in digital camera. The camera actually adds so much fun when using the microscope. I can actually view live images on my Mac and PC, and save the pictures/videos on my computers. I highly recommend this microscope.”
