Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIncredibly easy to install
We were pestered by rats for a year and tried various repairs to sewers. Finally got neighbours to install this at their end and touch wood, no rodents since then. It was a stressful and frustrating period and this product has made all of that history.
Best buy I’ve ever made on Amazon!

After hundreds of pounds, months of a rat invasion in our wall cavities, ceilings and eventually kitchen and many sleepless nights, we have been rat free since fitting this over a week ago. The relief is immense. We are very careful about what goes down the drains though to avoid any blockages. Would highly recommend this product.

I had a rubber version of this with plastic flap that has been in situ for four years, (I did replace just the flap with a metal one (bottom of baked bean tin) aprox 2 years ago as it got chewed), but it has kept us rat free so it was worth it’s weight in gold. Recently we had them in the floor space and loft so checked the flap only to find the body was perished and falling apart. For another 25 paid for the plastic/rubber version I ordered this and it’s by far the more sensible option…very well made, very strong and fits like a glove. I fully expect this to last for years without issues.

This product is a life saver easy to instal and works perfectly, had an issue with rats burrowing in a wall under our sewer we filled the wall hole but they kept coming back trying to gnaw through the cement, we put poison down for a week they kept returning to take poison. We came across this on Amazon and figured it maybe expensive but will save money in the long run and rid us of the rats, it has worked perfectly rats can’t access our drainage system now so the poison has been untouched for over a week now. It flows perfectly and no blockages with toilet paper or anything else very happy.

Great product stops rodents in there tracks

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNever had to worry again from the day I installed it. You can probably spend more on more fancy flaps and Danish designs, but as it runs out, my rats were local simpletons and beat it for good. Before, I had replaced two rubber 4″ to 1 1/4″ reducers [on a cowboy job join under the throne]. Getting on to the join was painful and floor-tile destructive, never mind the muck… The third reducer I installed was of harder resin but the bastards could still be heard coming back the 4″ from the street (well, my dog did…). So I had my water company inspect with a endoscopic camera which didn’t reveal anything wrong. But I kept asking them “what I could do?” So in the end they said: “we didn’t tell you, right? But you can put a rat trap as long as it is on your end of the inspection manhole. You may need to check it for blockage every now and then, but we won’t.” This unit doesn’t have any complex gubbins working the flaps, so I doubt it will get clogged up with bog roll and we don’t flush anything else down]. So I put this unit on: job done!

Very good. Stopped the rats but super expensive for what it is.
Would be better if it was a bit longer so it could go deeper in the pipe.
Where I fitted it the manhole wasn’t flush with the pipe hence more length would have been better.

    Given it 4 stars.

1 star lost because it’s very very expensive.

Yes the non return valve trap does the job and so far for us this has worked well. We had an infestation of rats with the entry point through the main drains to under our property. We would add that it is a wise idea to regularly check your drains to make sure all is flowing well. But with regard to rats it does the job. Hope this helps.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAfter having problems 2 years ago I spent a couple hundred pounds on baiting etc with a pest control company then identified the problem being holes near the lip of the man hole which was easily repaired. 2 years later I hear noises again in the cavity walls and ceiling. I check all the existing problem areas I rectified no sign of damage .

After paying 80 for a drain survey we found a hole had been gnawed between the 2 manhole sections and it was 600 cost to have this smartly repaired without any digging involved a costly repair but I just wanted the issues resolved . Repair done no signs of Rats for about 5-6 months then again I can hear the pesky critters again!! Not looking to spend a small fortune i searched online and come across this device although not exactly cheap it was cheaper than paying 80 for a survey and god knows how much for a repair.

Its been about 2 week now since I’ve fitted this so far so good . Well packaged and very easy to install I haven’t heard anything as of yet and fingers crossed I dont!. I wish I come across this before spending 700 on the last repair as I feel this would have solved my problem if I had come across this first.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe appeared to have a rat coming through a broken / compromised drain following an extension, climbing up the cavitity before burrowing in somehow! We heard scratching for months before it make its way in.
Anyways, fitted this about 9 months ago and touch wood we’ve not had any issues with rats since. Stops them at source.
100% recommend if you have rats in through drains. Probably will require annual clean (urgh) and replace after few years… Time will tell.
Bit pricey for couple bits of engineered metal but it’s a relatively specialist requirement.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersWe had a rat infestation. I paid GBP400 for a three visit treatment from a pest control company. On the second visit they opened the drain and told me that I needed a rat drain guard and that it would cost GBP350 plus vat on top of what I already paid.

I just bought this and installed it in 5 minutes myself. V easy. Just make sure you know the direction of the waste flow (hint: away from your house) and that you put the bolt in to stop it from going all the way into the drainpipe and being impossible to remove.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe had a problem with rats coming from the public sewer. The Roshield Rat Guard is of strong, simple construction and proved easy to fit in the exit pipe located in the access pit where the various house sewage pipes arrive. The product may seem expensive – but,in our experience it works!

Looks good. Well made and solid. Not yet fitted but don’t anticipate any problems
