This little camera is excellent quality and value for money considering what it offers. Affixed to the side of my house, it costs nothing to run and charges with solar power.
The camera is good 5MP quality with a pan and tilt function so you can rotate it for a better viewing experience. All via your mobile phone.
There are 4 lights for night vision and 3 different night vision modes and a fitted battery for 4 months back up in case solar power fails.
On top of this there is a two way microphone so that you can communicate with the person on your camera.

These battery cam systems have come down in price in recent times and give you enough features not to have to stump up the huge amounts for the premium brands

This was pretty easy to setup and I chose to put an SD card into it

I did find it wasn’t quite strong enough to pick up the wifi from the end of the garden but I used an external repeater to get the wifi down there

The picture quality is good and I made sure to charge it fully before installing

I have found that the solar hasn’t been charging it fully in these greyer autumn days so I may just bring it back in side to recharge agai

I’ve currently got a blink camera system installed and I’ll do some comparisons to this.

Out of the box the camera has a good build quality. Nothing feels cheap or loose and it even looks good.

The app is very easy to use and unlike the blink cameras I didn’t have to turn off 5ghz to get this to connect.

The app allows you to control everything and is very useful. You can turn on the lights, do 2 way audio, control the pan and tilt as well as look at videos and change all the settings.

Installing it is easy and they give you drilling templates to help.

Lag between the camera and app is acceptable but slower in 5mp mode. It is better than the lag that blink has and here the lag is only with the app and not lagging the actual recording.

Video and audo quality are both good especially in 5mp, much better than blink. The night vision is also much better than blink.

The solar panel works if you have it in a good spot and the battery is said to last 4 to 6 months without the panel so it will be interesting to see if it makes it through the winter without having to be charged.

You can pay for cloud storage or use a memory card which installs into the camera. Unlike blink it doesn’t have a hub which could be an issue if you use the memory card as if someone rips the camera off the wall and takes it you have no recording.

Overall a good quality camera solution, recommend.

    Versatile quality camera.

Does exactly what you want it to, the camera quality is brilliant both in the day and the night and after using it for a while with the phone I can say that it is very easy to control.. very simple control system that is easy to access.

Solar power works fine and the whole system works well too.

Security cameras tend to take up a lot of electricity since they are on all day every day so it is a great idea to have a solar-powered one. This one was delivered quickly and in good-quality packaging. I decided to wait a couple of weeks before writing this review because I wanted to see if solar power would continue to work the same over time.

It is a good size and quite large but still easy to install and set up. You can download the app to change certain settings and make it personalised to you. It is waterproof since you have to use it outside so you don’t have to worry about it.

This one is a bit of a pricey one but it does have a lot of features which reflect the price like having its own lights which Ive never seen before, and also things like motion detection, two-way audio, notifications and more etc…

The camera quality is good and the picture is clear. It is easy to see people and the weather and things like that so I really cannot fault it.

Overall, I highly recommend it and it works brilliantly.

This is a great little camera. This was so easy to install and set up. We have been using a few weeks now and havent had the need to charge it, we charged it via mains first use and it has been running on solar power ever since. The weather hasn’t been the best with a lot of rain but it has still managed to get decent charge every day to keep it topped up and working and is still fully charged each day. We haven’t had any issues with it recording or working. We currently have a 32gb memory card installed. At night whenever anyone comes to the door there is a light that comes on so I am able to see who is there. The night vision is great you can have it in either full colour or black and white. We can move the camera via the app to focus on what we want. So if there is anything going on outside we are able to turn it in the direction. We can block or unblock areas of the camera to catch motion only on the areas we want. One of the best things we have found though is that this really does only pick up human motion. There is a lot of settings to thing on the app, how long you want to record an event, sensitivity, area etc. You can talk to people through it if your unable to get to the door, even if your not home. If your feeling threatened you can even set off an alarm on it. We really do like this camera. And would highly recommend this to others. At 109.64 i think this is great, would be nice if it came with a memory card though. At the moment there is a 20 voucher you can apply which is even better value. If you didn’t want to install a memory card you can subscribe to the cloud memory to save all recordings. We get a notification on our phone if we have any movement of which we can log right in and view live footage, a screen shot of an event and a recording. This is definitely one to have and gets the thumbs up from us.

Video quality is not the best but does the job
    Night vision works well
    Lighting is good as well
Motion detection is good depending on the area selection (can select detection segment)
    Loud alarm

This 5mp security camera has a decent picture. It has two way audio, night vision and is waterproof. It is equipped with four spotlights.
The camera is weatherproof and wireless as it works off a solar panel that is connected to the camera.

The Security Camera has a pan-tilt function of 355 horizontally and 90 vertically, and can rotate the lens from a long distance in the APP to achieve 360-degree all-round monitoring.

This security camera is powered by solar energy, no wires are used, and there is no hassle of wiring. It also features low-power technology that lets you charge with the included USB cable in bad weather or when the battery is low. The solar security camera is also equipped with battery inside, which provide extra 4-6 months backup battery life.

Works well. Picture quality is dece

I got this to fit on the front of our home to monitor the front of our house.
This has the option of being solar powered or my being battery operated.
It comes in a branded box.
I haven’t had time to fit (or I should say my husband had time) to fit this yet but my review of the product needs to be added,so I’m reviewing this on my initial impression of the product.
The fact that this product can be solar powered is what attracted me. Our home gets sunlight at the front of home constantly so I’m hoping that this can be fitted and not need any other means of power.
I already have cameras that I can view through my phone so as this can be used through an app, I’m confident that this will be easy to use and control.
This also has the option of 2 way audio which means you can use it to communicate with visitors to your door without having to open your door so can help you feel more secure in your home especially if you live, or are often left alone.
Should I experience any problems with product I will return and amend this review accordingly but from what I’ve seen and the other reviews on this product I don’t envisage any problems arising, hopefully I’m right.

Quality pictures and videos are very clear. The 5MP camera makes the difference. The solar power is amazing, I used it to charge my phone too 🙂 if you set up your camera on motion detection lvl 5 the power should last enough to go through the night. Solar power saves you money on the energy in sunny days. If you live in UK, autumn and winter better to power up from the socket as the sun is jut in pictures 🙂 Good quality and price. Thank you

    Super cool

The hardest thing about installing an external security camera in the exact location you need it is accessing power. I wanted a camera high up on the side of the house so it could see the car, bike shed and the access gate to the rear garden and garden office. With a conventionally-powered unit that would have meant drilling through a cavity wall near an internal socket and running a spur cable to the camera. What a pain! Solar power however appeared to offer the perfect solution.

At first I thought the panel would not provide enough juice from the UK’s paltry level of sunshine to power the unit but it seems to work fime, with the battery indicating 100% charge all the time. The trick is to fully charge it using the provided USB cable (no actual charger though) before installation and the solar panel just has to top it up with a trickle charge.

Installing is pretty straightforward with handy sticky templates that show you where to drill holes to attach the brackets for the camera itself and the solar panel. The camera slides in and out of its bracket so you can easily remove it for maintenance, rebooting, etc.

Connecting to your home wifi is slightly more complicated as it only works on a 2.4 GHz signal. Most routers these days merge their 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signals so you will have to access your router’s settings to separate the two and rename the 2.4 GHz SSID and then connect the camera. I simply added “2.4” to the name and it worked fine. The app tells you all this and then guides you through installation pretty seamlessly.

Once you’ve done all the necessary steps and fully charged the camera, you can then stick it on the wall and start using it. One slghtly annoying thsing is the crazy length of the cable which connects the camera to the solar panel. I guess it’s useful if ou are installing the panel on the roof or some other distant location to get more sunlight but if, like me, you install the panel right above the camera, you have to coil teh cable up and place it under the panel which isn’t a great look.

Anyway, the operation of the system seems fine, with the motion sensing function picking up anyone who walks onto the driveway. All events are captured to the internal SD card (you need to buy one BTW) and you get an alert to your phone. The app provides quite a few options such as a choice of lighting, an intercom and even a siren, sure to annoy the neighbours! You can also move the camera in all directions vis the app.

All in all an excellent self-contained security system at a good price. Recommended.

This is a well made solar security camera offering wireless viewing from in the home or out via your mobile phone or tablet using the ‘Cloud Edge’ App which is available on android and Apple. I will mention that if you’re after a WiFi security camera which will record 24/7 then this isn’t it as it will only record once motion has been detected. The reason for this is due to the fact that it’s a solar powered camera which can sufficiently recharge the built in battery to allow for the random motion detection and recording only.

The product looks and feels very well made, inside you’ll receive the following:

    -Camera
    -Solar panel
    -Screw fixings
    -Sticker
    -Warning sticker
    -Micro-USB charging cable
    -User manual

The App has to be downloaded for this camera to operate, I tried using another App that I use for my other cameras called ‘CamHi’ but one couldn’t get it to connect. So, once the App is downloaded, register, then plug in the camera, the App connects to your WiFi router and requests the routers credentials, once done, a QR code is displayed on the screen, just show this to the camera and the details are then transferred to the camera to allow it to connect to your WiFI, that’s it, you can now view the camera on the App, very easy and simple, the way I like it.

The camera will use your routers 2.4Ghz WiFi as this allows for reception at a much greater distance than compared to the 5Ghz band.

The App is easy to navigate and allows you to just drop in on the camera wherever you may be, in the house or at work. The camera has built in motion detection and will notify you once activated and will give you a clear picture plus you can have a two way conversation. It will record for a duration of time once activated, this recording duration can be adjusted in the menu. Most important of all, you must insert a micro SD card, class 10 , for recordings to take place in the camera, cloud recording is possible but at a cost.

Recordings can be viewed on the App and also downloaded from the camera to your phone if need be.

Over a 4 day period, considering we’re in October now, the battery level has stayed between 80-90%, so I’m getting a positive charge during the day plus I’ve set the motion detection to the absolute minimum. As we move further into the Fall then I do believe the battery won’t charge up sufficiently however one can use a micro-USB cable to charge up the battery from the mains, rather than dismantling the camera from the wall, it’s worth using a good length of micro-USB cable , the one supplied would be too small, this would allow the cameras battery to be topped up without taking it off the wall.

I must mention the night vision, this is absolutely brilliant, looks like daylight on the phone and the resolution is very clear.

As mentioned earlier, this won’t record constantly, so if a motion camera is what you’re after then this is worth placing on your short list.

This solar powered security camera came very professionally packaged, and it was super easy to set up. The app literally talks you through every step, and connects straightaway!

Installation was easy, especially with the drilling templates. We opted to install ours onto a piece of wood cut to fit the corner of our house to get as much use out of the 360 camera as possible. It looks good on our house, and the solar panel has a really long cable so you can fit the camera in a shaded spot

The app is straightforward, with lots of features for playback and saving pictures. The quality is excellent, and really clear, even when you zoom in. The live footage can be viewed in standard quality so it loads a bit quicker, but the camera will still be recording in high quality

Night vision is amazing, and really lights up everything! It automatically records in colour when someone walks by, and the lights turn on too so it’s a very handy feature for security. We really like that you can talk through the camera too, and the sound quality is great! Our other cameras don’t have this feature, and we’re impressed by it!

Battery life seems really good so far. The camera has only been using around 2% of its battery daily, and it’s been getting enough charge in the day to maintain a constant level even though daylight hours are getting shorter. You do have the option to charge the camera up yourself which is good

Overall, a really well built and easy to use security camera that’s good value for money, especially since it doesn’t use electricity and won’t be impacted by any power cuts too. Anything but basic!

    Excellent quality security camera!

I have several IP CCTV cameras outside my home for security. Only recently, it paid off when someone stole the neighbour’s motorbike.

This camera uses the similar CloudEdge app that a couple of my cameras are on, so it’s perfect to have them all using the same app together.

The camera is simple to setup…possibly one of the easiest types to use, in all honesty. It’s simply a case of running through the settings in app, scanning a QR code and it’d up and running.

Installation on a wall or fence is also really easy. There’s no fiddling about trying to fit it directly to a wall. Simply use the included drilling template and screw the mounting bracket to the wall. The camera then slides into it. Likewise, screw the solar panel bracket to the wall, mount the panel and route the cable into the camera input (micro usb), which also has a rubber seal to protect it.

The image is really clear and detailed at 5mp, which can be selected from the main image screen. Considering this also has ptz to rotate the camera, as well as an alarm and voice gesture, you really can’t go wrong with it. Using the solar panel, which eliminates the need for a permanent electricity supply, you’re left with a camera that can be installed in various locations that you wouldn’t normally be able to route a wire to. Of course, if you do have a power supply nearby, then there’s also the option to permanently power it via USB cable.

Overall, this is impressive for the price and certainly a recommended camera. As long as you have a good WiFi signal, you can’t go wrong with it.

Good, clear HD image. Rechargeable and solar powered

Delivered the next day, thank you Amazon.

Please see my video it shows the product, packaging, how I used it, and at the end footage of the actual item.

Initially I was very sceptical about whether it will work or the solar panel would be good enough to keep it on wince we live in the UK and the sun does not always shine as strong as other countries, I am frankly impressed, today is the 5th day and the camera is still reading 82% at 4:15am, so the solar works beautifully.

Now, image quality, initially when I switched it on I thought “this is not 5MP surely” but then DOH!, when I mounted the camera (as the video shows) I realised that I didn’t remove the protective sleeve from the lens, did so and got a superb image quality, you could argue if it’s a 5MP camera, but the quality was very good that I could see right to the end of my garden and frankly was sharper than an S-PRO camera mounted already, so quality was nice and crisp, and sharp at night which is what I wanted.

Connectivity; worked straight away with WIFI, no issues there, had to the APP and that worked well.

Now, onto my score of (Why 4/5 not 5/5 ?!): This is a security camera, which means that I would like to use my PC or MAC (or any desktop system) that I could have it with a browser or a desktop app to see this all the time, sadly there was in interface for that, and the only way to see the footage is to use the APP on my iPhone, yes it works, yes you get alerts, but sadly can’t have it sitting down on a PC to glance at it later.

Although a very minor issue (this does NOT affect my score though): is the camera does not allow an optical zoom, as I said, this is not a big deal as the camera is good enough without it.

Finally, do I recommend it?!… absolutely, if you are using your mobile device for this then yes, but if you are like me hoping to have this connected to your desktop PC/MAC then sadly this won’t work for you.

If the manufacturer come back with a solution or a PC / web browser way to have this connected to, then I would be more than happy to up my score to 5/5

Overall I was impressed with the device,

Thank you for your time reading my review.

Very Impressed with the device, it would have been 5 star if it had web interface

    Solar wireless security camera

This is better than I initially thought it would be, having had one similar before that wasn’t that great.

The security camera is a nice design. It seems well made and durable. The size is roughly 14cm x 10cm x 14cm. The base plate to the camera is around 8cm x 6cm. The camera is a 5mp, which isn’t bad, the image is nice and clear, with no distortions and the night time image is quite good too, especially with the 4 lights built in. The camera can be manually rotated in the app, left, right, up and down, this will move on its own when noticing movement etc. You can add a micro SD card, from 8gb-128gb. This goes in the base of the camera, where the reset button and power button are also.

You have a separate base plate for the solar panel to sit next to the camera, which is around 7cm wide. The solar panel itself, is 17.5cm x 12cm, so it’s a decent size.

You can use the solar panel to charge this up, or you can charge it using the micro usb cable provided, giving you an additional 4-6 hour back up battery. I do wish it had been USB-C but it’s not the end of the world.

There is an app which goes with the camera, this is called ‘Cloud edge’. This is quick and easy to pair with the camera. Once you’ve paired it, you can see the live view, which also shows the camera battery level, date and time too. You can use the microphone and hear through the camera clearly. You can set up all of your notifications to let you know when something is going on, or someone is there. You can use the loud alarm siren if you wanted to. When setting motion alarms you can add the light to come on, or the light and siren at the same time.

There is more to this camera than I thought there would be. The image is better than expected. The notifications are nice and quick to prompt you to let you know what’s going on. The functions are all easy to use. It does seem well made. I would recommend it. Slightly more than expected that’s all.

    Not bad for the price

Quality is great and offers siren and led light to deter intruders.
App notification’s are instant and can record to cloud with great replay speed.

I like this camera and how you can control it in the app, especially how you can move it 360 and change position of the camera on the app. The app it also easy to use. Installing the camera and solar panel was also easy to do especially with the stickers that you stick onto the wall and it tells you where to drill the holes. The quality of the camera is good although the 5mp does lag if its not close enough to your router, the 2mp works well though. The camera picks up motion and sends you a notification to your phone but if you do want to save these videos via the cloud you have to pay, for a subscription which isn’t too badly priced. The night vision on the camera is good and even better when the spot lights come on when it picks up motion or you can turn the spot light on yourself via the app. You can charge the camera via USB but this will mean taking it off the wall every time you want to charge it or it can charge via solar power but this doesn’t seem to be making a big difference to the battery. Infact the battery was at 77% when I installed it and it’s now at 72% 24 hours later. Overall its a great camera and good quality and I also love the 360 view.

    This camera is excellent.
After struggling to initially set this up as it came with no instructions. I finally got it up and running and wow….its absolutely brilliant!
Solar powered this camera is jam packed full of features.
Came with two brackets, one to mount the solar panel and one to mount the Camera.( during the set up process you are told if the WIFI signal is weak or strong where you are planning on mounting the camera, to get optimum performance).
Using the app on my smartphone I was able to tilt and rotate the camera remotely from inside my house using my touchscreen.
Their is also a button to record, take a snapshot, talk and to turn on the inbuilt lights.
Picture quality is great day and night( see last two pictures for night time images with and without inbuilt lights turned on)
You would need to purchase a SD card if you want to record the footage, otherwise you can view it live and take a snapshot.

    Love this camera/ light combo

This is really simple to setup and the images are sharp and clear and the build quality appears to be very good.
We have a well known front doorbell camera but we also need one on our side access which is very dark at night and this fits the job perfectly, it also lights up the area really well when entering our property from the side access, which is our main point of entrance.
No contracts, works with android, Apple, Google home and of course Alexa.
I am still testing it’s capabilities so will update if I find any issues but none so far.
If there is no sun to charge it up it has a battery back up which can be recharged every 6 months, this could be made clearer in the advert as you might just see it as solar, the solar is just a bonus for me.
For now it functions very well.

This comes well resented in its own branded box.

It’s a 5mp solar security camera, it can also be run on mains which is a good idea especially in winter when there’s not so much sun about….. I thought with it being only 5mp that the images produced wouldn’t be very clear but surprisingly the picture is crystal clear, it’s quite impressive.

It’s solar powered, but has a back up battery to run on (which, living in England is pretty useful!). I’m pleased to have found a good solar powered camera what with the rising energy costs, hopefully it will help save some money.

Only installed it yesterday, but happy so far!

Works well, the solar panel keeps it charged with only an hour of sun so a couple of sunny days during the week will keep it topped up.

I’ve been using the camera for about 4 months and the battery hasn’t dropped below 90% so I’m confident it will last all winter without any issues.

The camera quality and motion detection is good and the app is easy to use and navigate.

    Good product, would recommend.

Really good picture quality and battery life.

Hubby had no problems setting up this security camera, it was quick and easy to do.

It works well and the picture is clear.

Hubby says that he thinks it’s a bit expensive for a basic security camera, but it does work, which is always good as we’ve tested quite a few in past that have been a nightmare to set up then don’t last or won’t work out of the box. I’ll update this review if this camera stops working, but for now we are happy with it.

I really like this security cam and i love the fact you can turn the camera around to any direction you want to view! The camera quality is very clear and also the night time recording is also very clear. It does detect people or animals going past and you do get notification. You dont even need to connect it to the mains power supply to run the camera as it comes with solar panel to generate electricity for the cam. Not has any issues with it so far snd the two way talk has no issues or lag when communicating. I hope my review was helpful

This security camera comes in a retail cardboard box and inside you’ll find the camera, quick user guide, security sticker, wall fixings, USB Power cable, 2x drill guides, and a solar panel.

The camera itself is made from plastic and has a white matte finish to the main body and a matte black finish to the moveable camera section. It supports pan and tilt so you can move the camera around with the app, without having to touch the camera physically.

Installation is simple as you only need to plug it into a USB power source and the camera will automatically turn on. You can power the camera with the included Micro-USB cable plugged into a USB socket or use the included solar panel which has a Micro-USB lead attached. To setup the camera, you need to install the CloudEdge app from the Playstore/App Store, and then add a new device from within the app. Follow the easy-to-follow instructions via the app and It’ll then ask for your Wi-Fi password and after inputting it, the camera will automatically connect to your router, and you can control it via the app.

This camera automatically connected to my 2.4ghz channel, so I didn’t have to faff about disabling channels like cheaper cameras, this connected straight away. The app offers a few features like Live view, history, and you can directly control the pan and tilt with a simple D-Pad style control via the app.

The night vision mode worked well and gave me a crisp and clear picture in the dark. I could choose what resolution to see the live view with which was Standard Definition or Full-HD. The higher the resolution you chose, the sharper the image got, and I’m quite impressed with the picture quality. The camera can alert you, with a message on your phone, if it detects movement which you can turn on or off. It’ll even alert you if it hears something too which again, you can turn on or off. You can manage your recordings on either full day recording or record on events.

You can also install a memory card into the camera, and you can record footage yourself which means there are no subscriptions to pay. There is a rubber flap on the bottom of the camera which hides the memory card slot, reset and power button. The rubber flap isn’t easy to spot as it blends in well with the black casing of the camera. The camera can rotate a little under 360 degrees and can look straight ahead and move 90 degrees downwards. It can’t look up, only straight ahead and downwards as it rotates.

The solar panel has a 3m Micro-USB lead on it which allows you to mount it quite a distance from the camera if needed to get the most out of the sun. It’s plugged into the Micro-USB port on the underside of the camera which has a rubber surround to stop water getting inside. It is mountable with the included bracket and has a good scope for aiming the panel towards the sun.

In conclusion, home cameras have improved a lot in recent years and have become cheaper. This 2k resolution camera with PTZ is amazing at the price point of 109.99 (currently 89.99 on sale) and the amount of features like pan and tilt, onboard storage, is just amazing for the cost of this camera. Especially since it includes a solar panel so you can run it for free

    2k Resolution
    Pan and Tilt movement
SD card storage option for recording footage
    Two-way audio

No subscription required, and solar powered means it's practically free to run...

This security camera is a great device for keeping an eye on your property without having to worry about hard wiring or battery charging, very convenit. The set-up was fairly easy and the app works very well on my phone- instructions are clear and easy to follow.
It has a good solid picture and the captured footage is easy to view on their app. Configuring the camera and the app were a doddle as well. Notifications via the app arrive timely and the camera seens to only notify on human detection which is impressive. It has a nice strong WiFi signal at all times to it so I haven’t had any drops at all. Very impressed with it.

I’ve been looking for a solar security camera for a while but always found them to be quite expensive, so when the opportunity came up for me to try this unit I was very excited. And let me tell you, it’s surpassed expectations. The app is super easy to use which doesn’t always happen with more budget friendly devices. It’s intuitive and responsive, I’ve found the alerts work as should without any delay and the camera image quality is much better than most standard security cameras I’ve tried at this price point, it’s clear even at night which is for me when I wanted to be able to keep an eye on a equestrian farm and buildings, so a really impressive unit for the price. No issues so far in terms of charging via the solar panel, whether this will still work well in gloomy British winter I don’t know but I’ll update then if any issues arise.

If you need a security camera in an area that is difficult to get mains power this is the best option I’ve tried so far. I’d definitely recommend!

I got this camera for my bungalow. I am disabled and do not have capacity for a wired system. This was easy to set up and i like the fact that its solar powered because it means that i dont have to keep swapping out the battery.

I put this on the corner of my house because the camera rotates and so i can use it to see my back garden and the front of my house with a little click on the app.

The app is responsive and easy to install. Wifi works well, keeps signal so far although i dont know what it would be like in winter. In heavy rain it maintains a strong signal.

You can use a micro sd card up to 128gb so all recordings are stored locally, no need for any cloud services although you can choose to pay for one if you wish.

It has motion sensors, a microphone, lights, and has full 360 degree motion.

Helps me to feel much safer.

    Great for me

My first impressions of this DEKCO wireless security camera (model DC9E) were very good. It came well packaged, includes a few welcome extras such as a CCTV sticker and a template to show you where to drill, and looked to be high quality. The camera itself is larger than I was expecting, which might put a few buyers off, but I feel that it increases its effectiveness as a visual deterrent. I would have liked a shorter cable for the solar panel, but that’s just me, and I’m sure others would be complaining if the cable was too short.

Installation and set-up were problem-free and straightforward using the CloudEdge app, it literally takes minutes. The camera only works on 2.4Ghz WiFi (as opposed to 5Ghz WiFi), but this seems to be very common with these cameras and when I did a bit of research, I found a page that said “the vast majority of internet routers give the option between the different bands.” So, while I doubt it will present a problem for many buyers, I would recommend you check before buying.

When the camera was up and running, there were no problems whatsoever. The pan and tilt capabilities are brilliant. Controlled from the app, it allows you to reposition the camera as often as you want, covering a much wider area should you see something out of place. You can control various settings such as the motion sensitivity, and opt to install a micro-SD card for local storage if it suits your needs. The solar panel works nicely, once I worked out the best place to install it, and it is (so far) keeping the battery charged. Should things change come winter, or if you need to fix the camera somewhere more shady, I would recommend you keep or use a portable power bank to charge up the camera, as it would be easier than taking the camera down. Still, for the moment I have no complaints in terms of charging or battery.

The picture quality itself is not the best I’ve seen, especially for a camera over the 100 mark, and there does seem to be a bit of disagreement between other reviews already published on how good (or bad) it is. Personally, it is perfectly acceptable for my standards, and I’ve seen far, far worse. While I can’t read the number on my neighbour’s fence post, for PEOPLE and VEHICLES going past or coming to close, it won’t let you down. Again, it’s just me feeling like it should be that tiny bit better considering the cost.

There are a huge number of these cameras on the market, I’ve yet to come across a single one that really does it all and would really suit every need of every buyer. With this DEKCO camera, you are getting a solid, high-quality unit, that works well and does what it promises to do so. I know I’ve mentioned the picture quality (great but not excellent), for me, this isn’t a deal-breaker, as it gets so much else right. This really is a camera worth considering, especially if that price drops just a bit.

I am really impressed with this camera as with it being solar powered I have been able to install it in a location that does not have power. The use of a solar panel and the huge batteries means that it can be discretely hidden way up and not have to worry about maintenance, cables and charging etc.

Daytime picture quality is very good with night-time vision being very acceptable. I wanted to be able to view the whole of the back of the house and garden and so the camera has mounted some distance from the house, even at this distance the night vision still lets me see everything reasonably clearly.

Unlike my other cameras, via the app, I can also pan the camera left and right as well as up and down to view all around the garden which can be useful. You also need a memory card as this is not included or you can subscribe to the cloud. Sound and video with 2-way communication are clear and not too loud or distressed.

At this price point, this is the easiest and best value for money security I’ve seen so far. Highly recommended.

I already have one of these cameras, but it is a mains-powered version and finding a way to get power outside from the inside was a challenge.
This one fixes that issue entirely by including a solar panel which so far in June 2022 has been easily enough to keep the thing juiced up. It’s unassuming to mount and is barely noticeable, and happily feeds power to the camera which is an excellent camera in the first place with pan/tilt/light/intercom/siren. The automated motion detection alerts work great and overall this package is highly recommended by me.

This camera comes with everything you need except a micro SD card. The set even contain template sticker for the positioning of the holes for screw placement and a sticker for the door stating cctv in operation.
The camera runs from a solar panel but also has a usb cable for power, I connected it to a power bank when it first arrived to give it a boost. I am hoping the panel will receive enough sunlight in the winter.
The app for viewing footage on your phone is simple to download although I did have to create an account as I don’t like to link apps to my apple or facebook accounts.
I have BT broadband and this camera picked up the wifi signal immediately. I state about the BT broadband as I had a different camera which wouldn’t connect to BT wifi.
The microphone works very well from the app so that you can speak to someone within range of the camera. The 360 degree swivel means that it can rotate to cover the whole garden, again controlled by the app. Very impressed with this security camera and feel it is an excellent addition to household security.

Very easy to connect with wifi

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a revue of the Dekco Solar powered wireless security camera, Model DC9E which I have had the privilege to be able to test and revue under the Amazon Vine Scheme.

I mainly wanted this camera for the fact you can pan and tilt it if/when necessary, and also that it is powered by a solar panel so no batteries to charge or replace and you can also fit a memory card rather than have to store footage in the cloud, although the option to do that is there if you wish to do so.
It is virtually a self contained ‘no ongoing cost’ solution to security, other than the initial outlay of course.

In the box is the camera itself, a solar panel with the associated wiring, two brackets, one for the camera and the other for the solar panel, plus all the screws and wall plugs to mount them, plus 2 ‘sticky’ templates for drilling the mounting holes for the brackets, a USB charging cable and finally the ‘Quick Start Guide’ booklet which is one of the best I have seen and guides you though the installation ‘step by step’ and it also includes the website address, email support address and also a UK telephone help line.

I wanted to try it inside the house to start with and fortunately there was enough battery life left to do this easily.
You do need to download the App ‘CloudEdge’ to your Android or iOS phone or tablet, and then register for an account.
When that is done click the “+” button to add the camera and just follow the instructions to link it to your 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi.
I was up and running in literally 5 minutes.

This camera can rotate 355 horizontally and can rotate 90 vertically, that is 90 downwards from looking straight ahead, to can’t look upwards the movement of the camera is controlled from within the app itself
The lens of of excellent quality and the 2K resolution is stunning, you even get colour night vision thanks to the 2 inbuilt spotlights, I have not seen night vison videos as good as this camera gives, so clear.
At the bottom of the camera is a rubber flap, under which is the slot for a Class 10 microSD card up to 128GB, (you can format the card to FAT32 from the app too) and it is advisable to put the card in BEFORE you power the camera up, also there is the ‘Power’ button to turn the camera on and off, and also a ‘Reset’ button to restore the camera to the ‘factory settings’ by pressing and holding it for 5-8 seconds.

The solar panel has a good length lead on it and the ball and socket mount gives good movement to enable you to get the maximin amount of sunlight onto the panel, a south facing aspect is the best for this in the Northern Hemisphere (i.e. UK), so do a little bit or research on where the sun is before fitting the camera and panel.
The solar panel plugs into a Micro USB socket towards the rear underneath of the camera unit (see picture on Page 2 of the Quick Start Guide) but as there is a USB charging cable included in the box, you can also charge the camera up initially I assume using that, although strangely there is no mention of it in the Quick Start Guide.

The quality of build of the camera is exceptional, it is a top class piece of equipment, everything is made to the highest standard, of that I am 100% sure (I have worked in electronics all my life).

    Conclusion :
I have looked at similar cameras to this but none have impressed at all, therefore for that reason I have never purchased one but this camera genuinely does impress me in every way… honestly.

This camera is made of top quality materials put together well, and with an excellent well written (for a change !) Quick Start Guide by a good US firm with a office in the UK for support, they seem to specialise in security cameras of the highest quality and not cheap rubbish you see sometimes and for this reason they are not the cheapest but I personally would pay the asking price for this (129.99 on 11 June 2022) any day over other cheaper makes as I feel so confident about its ability to do what it says, and do it well too.

I can’t praise this security camera enough, I can see no negative points at all with it, and I have no hesitaion at all in highly recommending it and also giving it 5 stars, a great piece of kit !

This is a great product for giving extra piece of mind when it comes to home security. Easy to install, the camera is completely wireless thanks to the solar panel and WIFI functionality. This means there are no fiddly wires to connect. Once connected to your home WIFI system, you can easily maintain a 360-degree view of the area around the camera, with good picture quality and the option of saving pictures if required. Neat product that offers a good level of functionality.
