Perfect for the BBQe Excellent product. Probes are deadly accurate (checked against a known good probe). Remote unit works perfectly, alarm functions are easy to use (once you read the manual).
One thing to note, and this is not a criticism, just something to be aware of. This comes with two full length meat probes. I think previous models came with a long “pointy” meat probe and a short “stubby” ambient probe. The two meat probes are great if you need to keep track of temperatures in two different items, or in different locations of the same joint (like brisket point and flat).
The full length probe functions perfectly as an ambient probe too, but because of the length it can be a bit awkward to position, especially in a Weber Kettle where you might not be blessed with loads of room. To get over this, I am thinking of drilling a very small hole and fitting a grommet in the side of the kettle to accommodate the probe more neatly.
Works a treat! Worked straight out of the box, just put batteries in and the units paired straight away. Used it on the bbq to slow cook a big steak before searing.
Great product. Great product. A quarter of the price of the top name brands thermometers. Easy to use and easy to read. Only wish you can get a case to store it in. It takes the stress out of time cookingbon the bbq.
Good bit of kit. A necessity for good BBQ. Good bit of kit, and a necessity for bbq-ing (have made it so much easier).
I need to buy another for our holiday home, and will stick to this brand.
The only thing I don’t particularly use is the preset food temps, and as there is a cheaper model without this function I shall probably get that.
Outstanding Customer Service I use this on my Gas / Charcoal BBQ, Pizza Oven and Gas Cooker
It is so easy to use and lets you chat to friends or do other things while the ThermoPro keeps an eye on the cooking.
The wireless range is very good, I can see BBQ temperature in the garden from inside my house with no problem.
iTronics probably has the quickest response to any questions on the whole of Amazon!!!
Their customer service quickly sorted out a small problem I had, totally hassle free.
I cannot recommend the ThermoPro TP08 highly enough if you buy from seller iTronics
Great thermometer for the price This thermometer is brilliant and reliable. Always comes within 1c of my instant read so I am convinced it reads accurately.
I have used this multiple times for smoking meat over hours 5-6 hours and it reads the meat and ambient temperature well, the two probes work well for this purpose.
I would gladly purchase a product from this company again but probably one with more probes.
It is worth nothing that one of the probe handles did fail but the company did replace the probe ASAP, so I cannot complain.
Without one you are cooking blind Got this to use with my smoker BBQ. It was easy to sue straight from the box. Works perfectly well with a good range. I now know what’s going on in there, using one probe for the food and the other for the cooker.
BBQ/oven probe fails after time As an avid fan of low-n-slow cooking in the UK, with our variable weather conditions, this has proven to be a brilliant product, and highly recommended.
However, after 2 years of _very_ regular use the probe that measures the temp of the cooking chamber is unreliable to the degree of over 100degrees (F) when compared to the fixed thermometers I have on both my offset smoker and Weber kettle.
If this is a known problem (I’ve seen a couple of comments posted about this particular issue) then I don’t mind replacing the probe as a “consumable” – if it is reasonably priced of course.
If not, then I might need to look for an alternative as remote temperature monitoring is a necessity for my particular circumstances.
Great customer service , excellent product. Really usefull product has made cooking on the BBQ so much easier , unfortunately , one of the probes stopped working. An email to the superb customer services resulted in a new probe being sent out. I would 100% recommend this product as an indispensable tool for the BBQ and for cooking in general.
Good range Bought this to further my BBQ/ Smoking experience. The range is excellent and it seems accurate. I bought one and it had a fault with the food probe, sent it back and ordered a second one which works flawlessly.
Accurate temperature readings Simple to use. Instant link with the remote unit. In fact, the remote unit is what sells this monitor.
Calibrated exactly with the expected gas mark temperature set by the Kenwood gas cooker.
Amazing for my NPD Im using thermo-pro tp 08 for thermal profiles of my bread product and its amazing! Hope to get just couple probes if available! Great buy
Excellent BBQ thermomete Have waited to give a review until I have used it several times…..accurate, easy to use which has resulted in excellent barbecue food over the summe
Great for BBQ/Smokers - Really good wireless range I use this primarily with my offset smoker BBQ. I had to modify the smoker by drilling a 9mm dia hole in the steel sides to allow me to feed the probes into the smoker. I’ve plugged the hole with a small silicone grommet.
The thermometers both seem pretty accurate (as verified by my fast read themometer).
They work well left in the smoker/bbq and the meat and the tough, metal-braided wires seem heat resistant at the temperatures I smoke at (~120 degrees Celcius).
The batteries last a good long time (alkaline Duracell) and the wireless range goes from my backyard into the front room of the house.
The hi/lo bbq and meat alarms are a great feature and mean you don’t have to keep checking the fuel in the smoker as the alarm will alert you to the falling temperature and you can simply light up a new chimney of charcoals.
Instructions The only thing I found wrong was that there are no instructions on how or where to place probe, and when you know the food is ready to take out of the oven, but apart from that it’s very good
Excellent customer service This product was a replacement for a similar product. Initially, it seemed to be working fine, but after a couple of periods of use an error message was displayed on the unit. The customer service department were excellent to respond with troubleshooting tips and then eventually a replacement probe when the issue could not be resolved. Product now working as expected.
No nonsense thermomete I was recommended this model by a friend as there are so many brands out there for similar prices. Registers temperature excellently and fast. The 2 probes are great as is the wireless remote.
Only draw back is that I felt the build quality a bit surprising as its very light plastic. Despite it is cased in rubber I wouldn’t want to drop it on the ground more than once.
Perfect Turkey I bought this as I’m not sure my cooker is at the right temperature and I had a giant turkey to cook for Christmas !
(also because recipes are giving meat temperatures more and more as a better way to judge when meat is cooked ).
This thermometer was as simple as anything to use, with great results. would highly recommend
Great Thermomete Great Thermometer, bought it for a charcoal weber BBQ for cooking Turkey, Chickens and smoking Meats
Like the fact that the temperature sending unit is shower resistant…
Great Customer service
Available Replacement Probes
Wish it had the Meat temperature presets for the Temperature alarm like the ThermoPro TP20
Great Wireless Remote Digital Meat Thermometer for the price..
To be honest if I was looking again to buy the ThermoPro TP20 as its only slightly more expensive and has more features .
Accurate, good wireless range, exemplary suppo Review after 10 months of ownership and use.
This is the second wireless thermometer I’ve used, first from this company, and I’ll never buy from another company again.
First, the accuracy – there are two probes, one for dome temp, and one for food. Both very accurate according to other measurements that I take. Secondly, the wireless range allows me to stay inside during long winter cooks. There are max/min measurements that can be set, and the unit alarms if breached.
Finally, the customer service shown by this company is top notch. Responsive, helpful and dedicated to nurturing customers like me, and hopefully you.
BBQ necessity An absolute must for me. BBQ temperature at grill level instead of the wildly inaccurate built in thermometers reading. Internal food temperature without opening the BBQ to check. Take the guesswork out of getting the right “doneness”
Good value for money Good wireless range and excellent battery life. After many cooks I had a problem with one of the probes. The customer service was a joy compared to others and they sent out a replacement immediately. Very happy with the TP-08!!
Seems pretty good but a few quirks I bought this product primarily for use with my smoker BBQ. I was attracted to it because of the two probes, one for the meat and one for the BBQ temperature, and because of the remote receiver.
I have used it a couple of times and the result was incredibly succulent, gorgeously tender meat, so that is very much a plus. It was great to be able to go off into the kitchen and make coleslaw and to use the remote receiver to monitor the BBQ.
However, there are a couple of oddities and difficulties with it which prevent me from giving it full marks.
Firstly the controls and operation aren’t completely intuitive. The instruction leaflet does explain it, but it’s not straightforward. And, for some operations, you have to be quick or it goes back to standard mode while you’re trying to read what you do next and you have to start again!
For the maximum temperature, it alarms you when it is EXCEEDED, not reached. So if you want to know when your meat reaches 65c, you need to set the maximum to 64c. Very minor, but not quite intuitive. Buy it works with the BBQ temperature where I’d set the maximum to 110c and want to know when that’s exceeded.
And where do you put the sensor for the BBQ temperature? (Yes, I know it goes inside the BBQ!) The temperature on mine is very different from one end to the other and from the top to the bottom. So when I’ve read that you’re aiming to keep the BBQ between 90c and 110c, I don’t know where to put the sensor! Some guidance in the instruction manual would be helpful.
Luckily my BBQ has a temperature gauge on it, so I put the sensor in and then “calibrate” my maximum and minimum temperatures based on what that gauge shows. So if the sensor shows 85c when the gauge shows 90c, I’ll set my minimum to 85c.
That said, I haven’t been able to keep the temperature of my BBQ very stable so I’ve ended with lots of alarms and ended up switching the alarm function of, which then means that I don’t get an alarm when my meat reaches temperature. You can just not set a maximum and minimum for the BBQ (or set them to extremes that you’re never going to reach) but personally I’d prefer to be able to switch off the BBQ temperature alarm independently.
And the clip that holds the sensor is a bit difficult to use and doesn’t hold the sensor very firmly.
Also, I cooked a duck in the oven and, when I got it out it was a little underdone. I’m not sure if I got the probe in the wrong place or what, but again a little more guidance than just “stick it in the thickest part of the meat” would be helpful in the instruction book.
None of these negatives are particularly significant and I have happily and successfully worked around them, so my overall view is that this has been a good purchase and I am, so far, very happy with it.
A really first class cooking aid. I previously purchased a much applauded thermometer endorsed by a well known chef. It proved to be useless . I returned it and purchased this model and I am delighted with it.. It is accurate fast and very convenient. Easy to use and good price and service. The company has excellent back up in the event of problems. Strongly recommend.
Excellent product for Weber Smokey Mountain (WSM) Excellent product which did exactly as advertised – just installed batteries, plugged in and it worked like a dream.
Was very impressed with pre-sales discussion with ThermoPro via Webchat before purchase where I was convinced to buy this model rather than the more expensive TP-20s, as it comes with both a high and low temp alarm better suited for WSM.
Massive difference with i I’ve had my offset smoker for a year, after using it for the first time I have found a massive difference with the quality of the food from the first use
Woo hoo - No more burnt yet still raw chicken! I’ve only used the ThermoPro TP-08 once so far but it was a great success. Took me about 10-15 mins of reading and re-reading the manual to be sure of what to do but then I was away. I used it to monitor the temperature of my coal BBQ as I needed it to be 160-170c for 2-3 hrs. I used both probes, one for the BBQ temp and the other for the meat temperature and used the alarm.functions on the probes so I was alerted if the temps went outside of the acceptable range which I programmed in. I’ve never used any kind of temperature gauge on the BBQ before, or messed about with the vents to be honest, but I still found the ThermoPro incredibly simple to use. My only issue was trying to find somewhere on the BBQ to clip the monitor to. The monitor worked a treat, able to watch television and yet still knew whether I needed to pop outside to open or shut the BBQ vents. And the BBQ’d char sui pork I was attempting was delicious.
Great customer service and produc Had a problem with the first thermometer I was sent however a replacement was quickly sorted. Excellent customer service. Now I’ve used this, the thermometer seems accurate and the range of the receiver is good. Can recommend.
Excellent customer service I bought the TP-08 in July 2017 as an upgrade to my previous food temperature probe which was restricted by wires. This simultaneously lets me keep track of the smoker temp and food temp from the comfort of the house without having to trek up and down the garden, so much easier. I was disappointed when one of the probes recently failed. The TP-08 came with a guarantee on the probes so I contacted the company for a replacement. Unfortunately they were out of replacement probes but they sent me a complete replacement item (actually an upgraded TP-08S) instead!! All within a week of my original email, fantastic customer service!
Best £40 I’ve ever spe Takes the guesswork out of smoking meat and the messing about with thermometers also makes the process more relaxing as you don’t need to check on your dampers every few mins
Simple to set up, easy to use Very good and simple to use, unit has much better range than previously owned bluetooth devices. Only thing stopping me giving five stars is the grill clip could be better designed, it does ping off and the probe can slide out.
Perfect for the BBQe
Excellent product. Probes are deadly accurate (checked against a known good probe). Remote unit works perfectly, alarm functions are easy to use (once you read the manual).

To get over this, I am thinking of drilling a very small hole and fitting a grommet in the side of the kettle to accommodate the probe more neatly.
Very good for grate level temps
Very accurate and makes cooking on my offset a breeze

Perfect for BBQ and smoker, well built and sturdy construction.
