It is what it is. A telescopic watering hose. I needed it to water my hanging baskets. It does the job.

So much easier for watering plant roots when taller – saves my back – excellent extending reach.

This is an extendable watering attachment for your garden hose. Ideal for reaching hanging baskets or for watering the base of plants without having to bend over.
There is a multi-mode head that gives 8 different watering spray modes, the usual options from fine spray to a single jet. The spray head pivots 180 degrees (90 degrees either way) and stays in place while in use.
With the spray head bent over, the overall length from the base of the handle is 73 cm, or 114 cm (approx 2’5″ to 3’9″) when extended.
The watering lance is operated by a thumb lever on top of the handle.

So what was good? Firstly, it does the job it was supposed to do. It connects to a domestic hose pipe with a standard quick release fitting and delivers the water to the plants.
The lance extends a good length to give a decent reach. The reach is between 73 and 114 cm and is completely variable. There is a plastic twist clamp that releases the metal telescopic extension tube, allowing it to slide in and out.
The handle is plastic, but has a rubber coating in places to make grip easy.
I really liked the thumb lever switch that let’s the water through. It was easy to operate, can be set at any position to restrict the water flow and stays there. You don’t have to keep a trigger depressed or lock it in place, the one lever sets the flow and you can just leave it until finished.

So what wasn’t so good and could be improved? My extension lance leaks. There is a constant dribble running out of the bottom of the spray head and a similar dribble leaking from the joint where the spray head connects to the extending poles. The latter runs all the way down the pole and over the handle, making the lance uncomfortable to use. It also makes the extension twist clamp wet and difficult to grip and to loosen or tighten. This could be improved by applying the same rubber coating that is on the handle. I remedied the joint leak with some PTFE tape, an easy DIY fix, but this was just poor quality control and shouldn’t have been necessary. The spray head still leaks but I’ll live with it.
The design is basically a straight pole with a spray head at the end, that can be angled to spray sideways. This differs from some other products on the market in that they have a curved extension tube or greater movement on the spray head to allow the spray to be directed back towards the handle grip, so when watering hanging baskets you can stand closer and direct the spray downwards. With this item, you will have to stand further away, which negates the extended reach. A simple fix would be for the manufacturer to put an angled joint between the extension pole and the spray head. There’s probably a suitable joint available, somewhere.
Overall, I was very pleased with the extendable watering lance. It does the job and we’ll see how long it lasts. There are some things that could be improved upon, to make this an excellent product. So far I would say it is worthy of 4 stars.

This was such a good buy, so easy to just click into a hoze end, and light to lift up to my hanging baskets!

We now have 2 of these and bought one for my daughter. The head moves to the position you require and it saves a lot of back breaking when watering the garden.
I would highly recommend purchasing one

I’m so pleased with this lance spray which completely met my expectations. Good design, well made and does the job brilliantly. It was also great value for money and far better than the Hozelock one I had been considering. The best part is the simplicity of the ‘on/of’ trigger which works brilliantly and can also easily adjust water flow. I am very pleased to recommend this lance

It works well and saves bending and stretching in the garden. One of the head washers was twisted but i rebuilt it and it works well with no dripping.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOriginally I was going to pay top price for a Hozelock but was dismayed by the reviews (as well as the price tag). My current lance, a supermarket special worked but the on/off button was very difficult to use.

I can say I am delighted with this lance. Not only does it work (which is all I am asking) but the on/off is a delight to use – and the price! Bargain. Buy on and use and forget, which is all we want from our products

Good value and useful with the telescopic function. Variable spray head also beneficial. I did need to re-seat a couple of washers and tighten connections as leaked on first use but now using with no leaks at all and very pleased with it.
