fairly easy to use. this is my first tool of this kind. unable to compare. some times I have to go over it a few times to get that smooth cut. The battery seems good. last more than one job. I charged it in between just in case (my garden is not massive).

Having down sized and given my petrol one to me son, we found we needed a light weight one for the 35 ft of mixed hedgerow we now have. This fits the bill perfectly cuts the mixed hedge well not heavy and easy to use

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIv just used my hedgetrimmer and I have to write a review, I think buyers need to know I’m a 66yr old lady I weigh less than 8stone and I was able without any problems to use this fantastic machine, I can’t praise it enough, I was very sceptical buying it, I’d never heard of the makers and the price of it I didn’t have great expectations, how wrong I was, iv got a hedge that’s as old as my house, 40yrs and it’s a very woody hedge not privet, it just cut through it with no problems, I didn’t find it heavy or difficult, like most people iv always tended to stick to well known names when buying products but after reading the reviews I gave this a chance, don’t hesitate to buy this hedge trimmer you won’t regret it, people reading this will likely think I’m going overboard but I’m proud of myself that iv cut my hedge myself but I couldn’t have done it without this machine, Piera Murray

After an old repair of the cable of our old hedge trimmer decided to fall apart while I was using it I decided enough was enough and ordered this. My other half was sceptical until he used it himself and is now as pleased as I am with this trimmer. Light, quieter and longer than our old one so easier to do our wide laurel hedge. Couldn’t be happier.

Nice balance to this machine and it retains a charge longer than I thought it would. Power is down on similarly sized petrol trimmer I had but it was overpowered for my needs.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat lightweight trimmer that can get any job done! I used this trimmer to cut the bushes at my house and figured it would take a few batteries to get the whole job done (I was wrong). I used it for about 30 minutes nonstop and it still had battery life to keep going. Some of the bush’s branches that I was cutting were about 1/4″ in diameter and this thing has no issues.
Overall, this cordless hedge trimmer is easy and safe to use, the price is reasonable too. The trimmer weighs a mere 2.6kg, make it easy for anyone to handle. I like this product, and I will try other products of this brand. I would highly recommend this product for any large or small application.

    Lightweight And Cuts Well!

I like this lightweight hedge trimmer for our garden and drive away. Being a cordless is great as I don’t need to worry about length etc. Very good charge too. Blades are shape and cuts the hedges in good shape.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThe Trimmer arrived just two days after I ordered it. On opening the box it proved to be very solidly built and the blade cover, unlike previous corded ones I have used which were lightweight transparent plastic, was very sturdy.
Charging of the battery packs was easy and quite quick and after an hours non-stop use was still going strong. The weight of the machine during this time was also quite acceptable and, given that I am eighty one years old and only nine stone, caused no problems even though the height of part of my hedge involves using a step ladder,
The trimmers performance was very good and compared favourably with the corded ones that I have used previously with the added benefit of not having to worry about the trailing power cord. I also found the tilt facility which I have not come across before quite useful.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have a big hedges which require constant attention. Need to trim once a month and it’s quite challenging with corded hedge trimmer. Got also battery powered but it was struggling with a bit thicker branches.
Got this one as it has 36v instead of standard 18v and has quite large cutting width, it cuts without problem 3/4 inches diameter branches.
Length of the blade around 24″ ideal for day to day home use.
Handle can be rotated to get to best angle to work with.
So far very happy with it’s powerful motor and 24″ long length.

This is a great option for a lightweight, easy to use, low cost hedge trimmer that is also wireless and rechargeable which is great for convenience. The first thing I was very impressed by was the weight of the hedge trimmer, without the battery it is very light, the battery is a large portion of the weight when it is connected and that does mean that it is a little rear heavy while it is being used but you get used to it and really that just goes to show how light they have managed to make the rest of the trimmer.

You do only get 1 battery which does does mean you have to be a little more vigilant about keeping it charged but it does apparently work with the other rechargeable tools is the WESCO range so it will probably be a good option if you have another compatible tool as you if you buy two tools you will have too batteries and can keep one charged while using the other.

The battery life seems good so far and the trimmer cuts well, it is clearly not the most heavy duty hedge trimmer in the world and you would not want to use it for an exceptionally long time or on a very stubborn hedge, but for small jobs it is perfect. The fact that it is cordless and does not have any of the drawbacks that come with a petrol trimmer is great, and seems to be reasonably well priced compared to comparable hedge trimmers.

We cut our hedges in Spring and Autumn so as not to disturb the nesting birds so this arrived a bit too late/early in the year for me to give it a good test. However, I have been able to use it to trim some small-ish areas of hedging by the house and to cut back some bramble and it’s been very easy to use and has coped very well with the fairly light work I needed it for. I don’t find it heavy or cumbersome and it’s great not having to worry about cutting through the cable by accident – we’ve all done it 😉 . I’ve had a couple of cordless garden tools by Wesco and I’d say so far this is the best. Build quality seems good, the battery was quite quick to charge and so far I can’t find fault in it other than it does seem to be a bit expensive for a brand that has yet to make its name and a reputation for reliability.

The Wesco cordless hedge trimmer is a brand that I’m not familiar with how ever having used it for a good few week’s was quite impressed. It’s a double blade of 510mm in length with 16mm tooth. The trimmer has a two handle system and the D front grip which is easy to grip and allows good movement when cutting. There is a small safety gard near the D handle which I thought could have been a bit bigger in my opinion. Having done a bit of research on other well know brands on the market they don’t come with a battery and are asking much more money this one comes with 18volt battery and charger dock, which I thought was great. It takes approx an hour to charge up; which again was quite a plus. The The light weightiness of the trimmer was great compared to other trimmers that we’ve tried. We have a lot of headges in our garden and it really managed the task very well. All in all a good cordless hedge trimmer and really reasonably priced.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOf all the new Chinese manufactured Power tools, Wesco is by far one of the best made, best performing of the lot! All in all this is a lightweight (2.64Kgs), ergonomic (as in well balanced in use) and excellent performer which quietly and efficiently gets the job done with plenty of juice in the battery for at least 20-30 mins of cutting on a single charge.

So why 4 stars then? Well despite all the pluses, the Wesco doesn’t quite cut it when compared with the master of hedge trimming – the Bosch 0600849F70 18 V Cutter. The latter is marginally lighter & has the sawing function on the end of the blade which really, really does make a difference (I was quite stunned by how easy it makes hedge cutting!). Yes, at 119 the Bosch is dearer, but in the days of one battery fits all per manufacturer, that 20 difference isn’t quite enough here to tempt me into buying the range as the Bosch is an all round, slightly better performer. That said, for those keen to save a few pounds (or if the Wesco appears on an Amazon deal), this is a great device (as are all others I have tried in the Wesco range), but even at a wallet friendly 99.00, the Bosch still remains king of the hedge trimming castle & ergo 4 stars it is!

I found that this weighed about the same as my corded clippers, even with the battery attached. The battery is quite small and light, but I found it lasted fine. It is so much easier to use this clipper compared to a corded version. To not have to keep an eye on the cable means you can keep an eye on what you’re doing and make a better job of it.

A word of warning. I found it very easy to turn on by mistake. Basically, as soon as you have two hands on it, it’s on.

WESCO Cordless Hedge Trimmer, Hedgerow Machine with 18 Lithium-Ion Battery510 mm Blade Length, 16 mm Tooth Opening, Safety Switch, Anti-Vibration Design, D-Handle, Incl. 2 Ah Battery and Charger

The first thing I noticed was how small the battery is and decided to fully charge it and see how long it lasted.
The charger does illuminate and go green when fully charged.
What concerns me is the fact they also sell a WESCO Cordless Hedge Trimmer, Electric Hedge Cutter with 2x 18V Batteries making me think that perhaps it would not last long on this model taking just 1 battery.
The pictures show the size of the battery.
I have found that it lasts for about 20 to 30 minutes from a fresh charge and although this is probably adequate for some people I would like a bigger battery or perhaps have 2 supplied so have given this review 4 stars.
Also in the attached pictures it shows the rather odd triangular moulding on the body of the hedge trimmer meaning it is wobbly when you put it down and I can’t work out why it should be like that.
I do like the fact that it feels fairly light compared to some hedge trimmers and certainly a pleasure to use compared to a petrol engined one that I can barely lift.
The blades are not teflon coated and it is recommended that a light oil lubrication be applied every time you use it.
I have never bothered with this before on other hedge trimmers so I will try that.
The safety warnings suggest wearing ear protection but the noise level is the quietest I have used which is good.
It is well manufactured from China as expected for a German Company Positec .
One small problem I have found seems to be sourcing a spare battery if needed but the distributor is in Newbury in the UK and I will contact them them about it.
I have always used two batteries as I have a fair length of garden hedges to maintain.
The price at the time of this review is 99 which is comparable to similar specification hedge trimmers available.

I would like a better battery life but it is a light well made produc

    PROS:
Functionally, it works as advertised. I trimmed my bushes with ease, even cutting through some thick branches. It’s not complicated to operate, and the battery lasts quite long. The trimmer is light weight in comparison to my previous one.

    CONS
None, except that now I have no excuse to not trim the bushes!

    It feels sturdy and reliable.

I rather like this, averagely priced, its lightweight at 2.64Kg and powered with a battery. It cuts well and is nicely balanced. The single 18v battery sits well under the main handle and doesn’t get in the way or take too long to charge using the supplied charger. I used it for a half hour and Mrs C wanted to try it for a further twenty minutes which didn’t flatten it. The blade is 510mm and comes with its own sheath. It will cut reasonably thick foliage and copes with branches around an index finger thick on my Leylandii, The freedom with no trailing cable to worry about is welcome, especially when Mrs C decides to do a bit which invariably ends up with a repair to the cable. I must have a niggle though, there are screw holes for hanging storage on the sheath, but there is a ‘stand off’ on the body of the motor which prevents it being stored on a wall without first adding something to compensate for the ‘lump’. But a small niggle indeed in comparison to the quality of the trimmer which gets Five Stars.

This cordless hedge cutter is great – the battery charges quickly and last well over an hour – enough time to do most hedges.

The blades has not trouble getting through even slightly thicker branches on the fir trees when i trimmed them back.

It is lightweight and the fact it is cordless is much better for me – i have cut through the cablemore than once when i up a ladder with my corded one.

The two lock on/off also means you can avoid any accidents!

The blades are really sharp – much better than my old black and decker one! …and its a lot lighter than it as well!

top quality at a good price!
