The U.S. plug sockets were very very stiff to use for first few times but now just a good secure tight fit
The front panel where the sockets are is a bit Flexi when you are pulling plugs out but using 2 hands and just keeping it in place does the trick nicely
At first we thought the sockets too small for our American gadgets so my husband used an adapter just in case but I just really pushed them into the sockets and they are spot on now!
WOULD BUY AGAIN
I use this to test equipment I am taking abroad for work purposes where the country uses 110v and its perfect for this use.
I bought this transformer as part of my ‘grid-down’ preparations since I have a couple of US manufactured solar panels and a US 500W battery storage power bank which will act as a back-up for my back-up off-grid solar system.
Everything I’ve plugged in seems to work fine and the ability to use the transformer as a step-up and step-down converter means it is a very useful tool to have ready as part of sensible preparations.
Now if I have a 110V supply (e.g. from the US storage batteries) I can step it up to use UK appliances and if I have US appliances running on 110V I can use a UK 240V supply stepped down to 110V – having that flexibility is great as it gives me all the options I need.
Considering that this transformer is step-up and step-down and that it will cope with a 2000W draw I think the price is very good.
It seems robust and is a suitable weight – I’m always suspicious of transformers which feel too light for their claimed rating as the appropriate amount of copper windings inside the transformer need to be there for long life and reliability. Everything here feels ‘right’ and works right.
Whether this transformer will ever live to see the day where the mains grid goes down, my 12.6kW solar panels and 11.4kW battery back-up fails and the petrol generator runs out of juice remains to be seen but as a back-up plan for my back-up plan it’s ready when needed.
I’d recommend this transformer all day, no worries.

It does what it says in the can. We have a 110V cooking press and now we can use it in the 220V U.K. plugs.

A whopping great chassis dent, on one side. Duh… I could have sent it back, but decided to panel beat the dent out. If the seller reads this, change your delivery method.

Bought it to power an American sausage grill, worked perfectly.
Product worked well but did stop working w my coffee machine. The seller said it was likely not enough power for the machine and quickly sent another machine to replace it. Thank you

I use this for my tools for working on electronics (soldering station, variable power supplies, etc.) that I brought from the USA when I moved instead of purchasing new tools in the UK. This converter runs all of my tools without an issue and was significantly less expensive than replacing the tools.
It works well but it will be difficult to carry as it is quite heavy. If you are planning to use it at one place in your home, it will be fine.
Works perfectly. Quite big but it fits nicely under my bed which is where I need it.
I have been looking for 220 to 110 converters at a good power output and a reasonable price. This is the first, and very welcome, product to satisfy the search, and its arrival satisfies the standards i hoped for and exceeds my expectations. To have the 110 to 200 option in the same piece of kit is a bonus I was not looking for but can actually use!
