Used for hobby and work around home.
Only used the arc welder so far and found it better than my Lincoln.
    Very smooth.
Will report back when I have time to test the

Bought this on the advice of a Youtube friend. Vwcoco, who’d reviewed it on his channel. It’s not for blasting mega amps into think plate steel but, works perfectly fine at what it’s made to do! Brilliant for car body work and thin steel, even though I’ve used on 2mm steel with no problems what so ever. Torch has a nice and positive feel to it. The 60 gift card off the selling price sealed the deal for me. If you’re looking for a welder that is light and boy is it light compared to my older transformer stuff, that doesn’t blow holes through light steel all the time. I’d recommend this

This is a fabulous welder! It handles 4 different welding types including a computerized setting that automatically adjusts to the material, wire speed and welding type. No guesswork! It’s truly a 21st Century welder! Compact and lightweight, it’s a versatile machine for both experts and amateurs alike. It makes welding fun and easy! Additionally, their customer service is stellar! Customer Service responded directly and efficiently, replacing some missing drive rollers. I highly recommend Hitbox, a fantastic tool, buying experience and Customer Service!

My review is for the new MIG200II, pictured. Shipment was on time, very well packaged, arrived complete and undamaged. The majority of reviews here are for an earlier version of the welder. HITBOX does a terrible job of promoting this excellent welder, there are no YouTube reviews and HITBOX’s own promotions/descriptions are worthless.

The welder, excellent! The display, delicious! The controls, perfect!

I’ve used it on 120V and 240V and only used flux core wire thus far. Very smooth welds, very easy (logical) to setup and control. Memory settings are great, the spot welding function is fantastic and can be adjusted. Besides the front panel controls, it can be put into a mode to set/adjust many lower level settings, very well though out. The manual is the usual Chinese sub minimalist effort but has sufficient useful info after the tenth reading and some mind melding with the welder.

To be frank, I had been considering another brand (YES…) with tons of reviews and videos until I stumbled on many features HITBOX doesn’t even mention. Calmed my concerns about quality by reviewing videos and writeups on earlier versions. I believe HITBOX make a good reliable product but are terrible at promoting and how/why the are better. I have not need support thus far but I would not expect much in this area but, unexpectedly, the manual actually list replacement parts/components!

I would not hesitate to recommend this welder for home use or a small shop but please keep in mind I’ve only used the welder for a week and can’t vouch for durability. Given the time and funds I will update my review when I try gasless MIG and TIG.

Excellent welder but HITBOX could do much more to promote it.

The welder is easy to use and adjust the wire speed and the power. I have only used the flux cored wire so far but I hope to try welding with argon gas soon. The welder will only use the small reels of wire .

This is my first welder and I haven’t welder in 10 years, but it was easy to use and worked well. I only used the flux core process , but will use the stick and mig in the future. It can do left tig but I have not tried that either. To weld up this exhaust I probably welded 8 to 10 ft based on all the connections. Only thing I didn’t like was the wire feed speed is in meter per minute.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m not a professional welder, only have about ~8hrs of torch time welding around the house, yard.
Have only tried this machine for flux-core MIG (FCAW) for now.
Welds in the pictures are on 11gauge steel. Had the machine on 145A, 16-17V.

    Machine feels well built!
All-metal feed roller mechanism, decent connectors, MIG torch feels solid, even the side cover is thick enough to feel sturdy, unlike some other low-cost machines.
Setup was relatively easy, used a Miller welding chart to get starting values for Amps & Volts based on the metal I was welding. Adjusted the settings from there. See images for some of the welds after about 1/2hr of messing around.

    Pros:
    – Well built
    – Cost
    – Easy polarity swap
    – Compact
    – Decent welds, especially given lack of experience

Cons (or more precisely things that could be improved):
    – Setting chart on the inside cover. Other reviewers have stated it already.
    – Manual could be improved, it covers a wide range of machines of different series but doesn’t go into enough detail.
    – Wire feed adjustment. I understand that the machine automatically adjusts wire feed speed based on amperage setting but it would be nice to have manual override.

Not sure what’s up with the sales ad for this machine, a burly, 1/2naked guy arc-welding.
If that’s supposed to be “this machine will put hair on your chest” I’m guessing it will do the opposite 🙂

Compact machine with a lot of potential!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAfter useing this welder daily at max amperage to weld heavy steal, I started useing every other function including the optional tig torch assembly, tp17 Purchased separately, and I have to say to get a welder of this quality you would have to pay at least 1000 dollars more,
I’ve been welding for years, inverter technology certainly is a step ahead. My only complaint is that for most people that haven’t welded very much the instructions that came with are poor, but there are helpful videos online to help with that. I’d also recommend getting extra consumables, and a longer ground cable.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersPurchased early part of November 2019…have welded about half a spool of wire now with it and it welds great…way better than my hobart 140. I sold the Hobart used and got enough out of it to pay for this one. I have welded everything from thin auto sheet metal to heavy c channel onto vehicle frames. I really love this thing…it makes a novice look like a pro. If it quits working I will report back but as of right now…love it.

6 Month update….still going strong. 3 spools or more into it now and have been welding with it a lot on a project I am working on lately. Was concerned that the duty cycle would have issues but so far it just welds non stop. I have been putting down beads at full power on big steel 2 feet long at times without stopping. Just keeps going. I love this thing. If it died today I would buy another and blame myself for not adhering to duty cycles.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor the money its a pretty decent welder, its nice and small, and takes an 8″ wire spool… the synergic function is ok but the wire speed is not independently adjustable ( to tune it in and avoid spatter ) so yes , you do get more spatter than you could get with adjustments. Also it does not come with a regulator for mig gas ( but includes a length of hose for this purpose )
When running it on full 200 amps it has enough jam to blow right through 1/4″ steel … but the mig gun cant really handle the heat for long and started to melt a bi

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersMy choosing, selecting, testing, and really great results at the end of the day, after searching for my Dream Welding Machine (DWM) in so many proposals and promotional jungles.

    THE PURPOSES:
    Alteration of the Standard retail sales equipment; Development of the Bespoke retail equipment (MS steel 0.8-1.5 mm, rarely 4-6 mm; SS 0.5-1.2 mm);
Developing and building up customized tools and devices (Steel: 10-20 mm)
tor the production of the different Stands and Displays for the Retail Sales Points, and
Many other different, and casually needs.

    THE CRITERIA:
    Able to use at any site, away from my workshop, having the simple Single phase power supply;
Capacity, not less than 200 Amps, with average duty cycle, about 60% or greater.
    Equipped by MMA, MIG, and TIG options, at least DC, because of AC/DC will come too expensive;
Able to provide definitely nice and durable welding seam, acceptable even on the visible surface of the Retail equipment.
At the same time, along with so wide and high expectations of the technical criteria and capacities, Investment in that should be in the range of the Economy Class.

    RESULTS:
After purchasing all of the accompanied things and devices, e.g. Argon and Mixture cylinders, Gas regulators, Grinders, Cutting and Bending devices and so many other small things, the needful to be able to start our new business direction described above, finally I was ready to test My New Adult Boy Toy — HITBOX MIG 200 A

My goal was to achieve for experienced welders very well-known lovely MIG song testifying to the well-balanced values of the Ampere, Voltage, and Wire-feed. It should sound like a cicada’s song.
Not a rude, not an intermittent, at the same time not hissing when you seeing just a melted metal in the wide welding pool. My goal was to achieve that typical nice MIG song.
    IT’S DONE (!)

The next will be just a routine hand experience relevant to the Gas consumption, length of the welding wire out of the MIG torch (the distance), movement and and variable angles of the MIG torch, depending on the needs for the deep on shallow penetration, depending on to the welded materials, especially if the different thicknesses of them.

    SATISFACTION.
At the moment I’m so satisfied with the results achieved with the HITBOX 200 MIG option, especially with the fantastic Synergic Feature, allowed to simply increase or decrease the power of the welding, by the Amperage adjustment only, due to Voltage will follow to your once adjusted balance between them.

By the 2 hours’ exercises, I have achieved really wide ranges of the welding seam, able to penetrate THROUGH (!!!) 4 mm plaint MS detail placed on the welding table (A/V 130/19.4) and just by the reducing amperage (voltage comes down automatically) to weld 0.5 mm pieces of small MS sheets not only by the fixing spots but even by the nonstop seem. (A/V 80/16.5 | 60/15.6 | 50/15.2 | 40/14.8)

    RECOMMENDATION for the UNITWELD team:
Simple Setup chart should be available e.g. in the machine spool cover, to avoid the upset of the beginners, and make the life easier for any welder, owner of their DWM (decoding of abbreviation see above)

    MY PERSONAL EVALUATION
of the HITBOX MIG 200 a (MIG device):

IT IS AWESOME, WELL DONE AND COMPLETELY MEET MY EXPECTATIONS

Therefore, I RECOMMEND CHOOSING THIS MODEL if your targets and purposes are more or less similar to my criteria, described above.

    ***********************
    About the TIG device:
I’ll give my feedback a bit later on.
I should adjust the Gas inlet connection for that.
Meanwhile, the first impression I already can say:

So, if you carefully read the description and compare it with the proposal of the HITBOX MIG 200 A, you will recognize the TIG as an option, only, but this particular device is NOT INCLUDED in the package that I got in my hands 🙁

However, after a short written interaction with UNITWELD Team, by the efforts from Mrs. Cynthia, particularly, finally I get the TIG torch as well, as a promotional option, just it took time. Now I should solve the Gas inlet connection with an existing connection in the original version.

Therefore, Guys, see you soon, after I will test that one.
I really hope that I’ll be the same nice surprised for the TIG capability as well.

    BR Valdis (UAQ)

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI lovingly refer to my Hitbox as my *hitbox. I am not a welder. I am just a guy that always wanted an affordable wire welder that would do these 3 things: (1) Be a forgiving learning tool. (2) Allow me to do some reasonable DIY projects. (3) Not make me wish I had bought a more capable machine. And, I must say, after using my *hitbox for a few months it has not only met my original expectations, it has also proven itself to be well designed and durable. If your not rich and not a name snob, this *hitbox is a great buy for the money.

Does a great job with MIG WELDING, the TIG welding function is not a lift TIG but is actually a scratch start style. Once you get a hang of the TIG function, it does ok. But don’t expect professional results with TIG

Easy to use, Easy to set, I can’t wait to try it with Gas. I currently only have used it with flux core. an argon bottle would set me back another half of the price of the welder to buy. So, it’s for another month.
But, this machine, Easy to set out of the box, the only thing I would have more on it is the Wire speed, controled independantly of the Amperage, but, except from that, I have nothing bad to say.

I used it with flux core and stick welder, Both work fine, strike a good arc Welded 1/4 inch with the stick and some sheet metal with the Mig setup, Worket way better than I was expected.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSize is good, seems to be a good little welder. I have only used the stick so far but it worked flawlessly. The leads should be longer and the power cable is really smaller than it should be ,for the amperage of th machine . If the MIG and TIG work as well as the stick does then it will be well worth the price. This welder is best suited for the hobbyist .

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI just got the unit before I went on vacation…..was only able to quickly set up and try the stick welding feature….it seemed to work just file….will be checking out the mig and tig this week….. seems like a great value so far….. seller was very responsive…in that delivery was delayed by a day….but not a deal breaker.
    UPDATE UPDATE
Well had a chance to try some flux core wire (.035) in this machine…… I was very dissapointed to find NO wire feed controls on this unit. Wire was coming out too fast, and nothing I could do to adjust. From what I have read now, the machine processor is setting the speed based upon amps and volts. Well running flux core wire….you have to run the wire very slowly….and this machine just can’t do it. In the question and answer section of the posting, UNITWeld, the seller said that wire speed IS controllable on this machine. So unless I’m missing something….and please correct me if I am, there is no wire feed controls on this welder. I will likely return the welder.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis review is for the newer UW-PLMIG200-1 model.

    The goods:
    – Welder works very well. We have tested this unit on several projects and they all turned great.
    – All metal feeder mechanism.
    – Standard NEMA 6-50 3 welder plug
    – We also exchanges several message with support for consumables and they replied fast. They rapidly added them for sale on amazon. Search for B07QR57S4C on amazon.ca.
    – Adjustable Amp / Voltage (push rotary switch)
    – Feeder switch

    The not so great:
    – Manual is pretty bad.
    – No direct feeder speed adjustment although it was never too fast or too slow. But so far it worked for what we were doing.
    – No button to deactivate the feeder (useful to adjust gas). Need to open and unlatch feeder.

Overall very satisfied with the product.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersThis is the first negative review I have ever given. *** but read the update*** I was sent 3 tips for the mig torch every one of them was too small I.D. to run .024 or .030 even. They sent me some flux wire that is close to .045. You can imagine how anxious I was to take this supposed great machine for the money to my shop and be impressed. I even took a friend with me who was also hopeful waiting for me to be the guinee pig before he bought one himself. A hobart 140 tip would thread in, but it is half as long and their nozzle is so long. We actually attempted to drill the hole out in their tip, but apparently there is a ceramic piece in the tip. I broke three tiny bits trying this feat. Still determined to run this, we were about to cut the nozzle down, but then I said “two tears in a bucket”. I slammed all that unpacking right back in the box and stuck it under a workbench probably where it will remain. Honestly, the unit didn’t look too bad, and most everything appeared to be of decent quality manufacture. I can’t find those long tips anywhere. Almost bought another mig torch, but one thing these sellers are not specifying are the wire/tip sizes. HITBOX, UNITWELD, correct the problem and I will update this review. I will also give you a youtube video review when it will finally works.

***UPDATE*** I bought another mig torch lead and gave it a try. Have used the machine with gasless wire 1mm for a few hours. I usually don’t use flux core but I thought I would try it so I could have a road mig with no bottle. So far, it’s great. Runs much hotter than you think, burned a hole right through some 3/16″ so I turned it way down. It runs a good bead, I am a Miller guy with 2 xmt304s and an xmt450. This tiny rig does well. I built a small table for it. Would be a 5 star review but I had to get a lead, oh and the ground lead is too short for me. Just want to give a fair review, it welds as good as a miller, great bang for the buck.
