Set up and working in well under an hour.
Don’t connect it to the internet when it first asks. Just let it do its thing first.
Cortana will keep talking to you, which being as there’s no built in mic is kind of pointless,as you can’t use your voice to tell it what you want to do.
I didn’t really know what to expect from this tiny box. But still within that hour I had installed my antivirus and VPN of choice and everything seems to be running nicely.
Browsing, downloading and running general Windows apps this thing zips along at a very decent speed. And boot up is very quick.
Of the 128gb SSD I got a little over 90 available so that’s not too bad. Although I expect a usb 3 flash drive may be in order in the future.
My last new pc was a long time ago (Athlon x6) which I’ve upgraded and somehow kept working ever since. So maybe my expectations weren’t that high.
But for browsing ,streaming, downloading and general use this is much faster.
And considering the cost of electricity in the UK right now the savings of using this mini box seem worth it alone.
Using my old pc in a small room you didn’t need the heating on as it kicked out so much heat.
The mini pc is warm to the touch but not hot. It isn’t silent however as the fan kicks in for a few seconds here and there. It’s not loud but is noticeable.
That may well get modified to a slower always on fan at some point but we’ll see.
Clearly it’s not a gaming rig at least not for modern AAA games. But that’s not to say you can’t play any games at all.
Retroarch under Windows, lakka or batocera booted from a usb drive and there will be plenty of retrogames you can enjoy.

Overall I’m very impressed, happy even, with my purchase. I did manage to snag a pretty good deal on it though. But even at the normal price I’d be happy.
Only time will tell how reliable it will be but first impressions are positive

Much smaller than I thought, it doesn’t have a wired network port, just wireless, if that is portent to you

Great little machine ideal as a home server.

The MAIBENBEN Mini PC with the quad core Intel J4125 can handle many tasks, such as word processing, online browsing, video streaming, video conferencing (Skype, Zoom, etc..) just as good as more powerful and expensive devices can.
Just for kicks, I ran Cinebench 20 and got 495 pts…that is just a bit lower than a 5th generation Intel Core i5. It got 1285 pts in Cinebench r23 and 434 single-core /1355 multi-core in Geekbench.

The onboard storage is fast due to being an m.2 SATA SSD rather than the eMMC storage that many other brands use. That storage, the 8GB of RAM and the Celeron J4125 processor make this unit very responsive. It boots quickly and it multitasks quite well. The WiFi is also very solid. It also stays very cool for a mini pc. It tends to idle at around 31C and the highest I’ve seen it climb to is 42C, and this was for only a few seconds while watching a 1080P video. The system fan is also very quiet, and so quiet that I had to turn both my room fan and TV off and get very close to the unit to hear it running. All in all this is a fantastic mini PC. And though for my purposes it will be used both as a fun alternative to and a backup for my main desktop computer, it is most definitely a unit that is viable as a desktop replacement. It won’t be playing the latest video games of course, but as a home or even light office PC it is perfect.

If you’re looking for a good, basic Windows 10 Home PC, you can’t go wrong with this unit. This is not a super computer in my opinion, however it does very well as a mini pc and a second for your home. I do recommend this pc.

    Good basic windows computer!
