This hub does just what it is supposed to do: Provide accessible extra USB ports for my Mini. Add that it is also an attractive platform on which the computer sits quite naturally, and it makes for an attractive set-up.
Only had it for two days but so far it is as described and gives me more ports for my minimac.
Als Verteiler Hub beim Laptop unter Windows 11 eingesetzt, damit konnte der einzige USB-C Anschluss super genutzt werden. Auch mehrere Speichermedien konnten gleichzeitig genutzt werden.

Beau hub bien conu qui s’adapte parfaitement au Mac Mini.
Deux points lgrement gnants – vu le prix, j’aurais aim plus de ports USB-C peut-tre l’arrire et parfois le Mac Mini ne reconnat pas le hub au dmarrage. Bien sr, je ne sais pas si c’est le hub ou le Mac qui est en faute.

utilis depuis quelques mois dj, pas tout fait de la mme couleur que le Mac mais rien de gnant. Facile mettre en place, tous les ports de connections fonctionnent sans problme.

I did buy this at a promotional reduced price luckily, but only because I’d been looking at it for weeks. The MacMini is a superb bit of kit, but like all hardware it’s fiddly putting plugs in the back. This stand connects with one plug, power and data transfer, which leave the other rear connections free for your long term connected equipment. The stands front facing sockets now leave you to easily add those temporary additions. Exactly the same foot print and the ‘mini’ and make it no more than 2cm taller.
Es muy prctico; te permite tener todas las comexiones en la parte delantera, sin el engorro de tener que buscar a ciegas por la trasera del MacMini. En cuanto a las interferencias con el ratn que algunos usuarios han reportado, es cierto que las he sufrido, pero en momentos muy puntuales y de forma muy espaciadas, razn por la que al menos para mi no haya resultado especialmente molesto.
Great addition to the M1 mini. I do wish it had a couple of additional USB ports on the back for permanently connected devices.
En mi caso tampoco ha habido interferencias, conectando en el hub un disco duro y un receptor usb unifying para el ratn, y usando un teclado bluetooth de apple.
Un produit de base pour ajouter des ports au Mac mini. De construction simple, facile installer (un cble brancher) on pourrait presque croire qu’il fait partie intgrante du Mac mini. Un produit qu’Apple aurait pu produire.
Les ports ajouts sont pratiques : enfin termine la corve d’aller brancher des trucs derrire ! De ce ct, c’est du tout bon.
Je mets une toile en moins car je trouve que a manque de port USB-C : 1 seul est insuffisant, ct de 3 ports USB-A…
I’ve bought this as it was on discount in the 3.3 tech sale on Amazon SG.
The hub is well made with a professional feel when it sits nicely below my 2020 Mac mini.
It does its job well in giving access, at the front, to the much needed USB A/C ports as well as SD card readers. The ventilation fan also seem to be doing its function of cooling the Mac mini unit.
I would have liked the cable of the USB C hub at the back to be a bit longer or extendable as I sit both the hub and Mac mini in a Twelve South HiRise Pro, so it’s a bit tight for the cable to be bent at the back.
Ich habe mir zuerst die negativen Rezensionen durchgelesen. Mach ich immer so. Dann habe ich trotz meinem sonstigen Verhalten doch bestellt. Und das Teil tut was es soll. Ja o.k. Grau ist nicht Mac Grau. na und? Sieht trotzdem wertig aus. Funktional ist auch alles in Ordnung. Die Ports tun das, was sie sollen. Und WLAN-Strung oder Bluetooth-Strungen habe ich auch nicht feststellen knnen. Und bermige Wremeentwicklung Fehlanzeige. Gut, ich nutze einen Mac Mini M1. Der produziert selbst auch kaum Abwrme. Also wie gesagt. In der Konstellation mit Mac Mini und M1 Prozessor kann ich das Teil nur empfehlen. Der Preis knnte allerdings niedriger sein. Gleiche Leistung bekommt man schon fr deutliche weniger. Aber der Formfaktor ist halt auch entscheidend. Fr mich wren so 69 Euro ein optimaler Wert.
Slapping this under the Mac is fool proof, as it has a cutout on top, which perfectly centers your Mac.
Adding front I/O makes plugging devices in so much easier, and adds a good amount of ports. 3 usb A, 1 usb C, a headphone jack, and SD/MicroSD, all while only using 1 usb C port on the back of your Mac mini.
The finish on the satechi dock is VERY close to matching the Mac mini, however it is ever so slightly off, but you’d be hard pressed to notice unless someone pointed it out to you.
This base is so amazing and it really takes the M1 Mac Mini to the next level. It blends seamlessly with the computer, looking completely like it belongs there. The indicator light is great to let you know that the hub is active. You get so many usable ports and it all just plugs into one Thunderbolt port. After a year, it still looks and works like new too! I use it mostly for reading SD cards and you can read micro SD and regular SD simultaneously, which is much better than my USB SD card reader. The stand really makes the Mac Mini feel complete, and you’re definitely getting the most out of your Mac without it.

Ho acquistato questo accessorio per il nuovo Mac mini. Come tutti, il motivo quello di avere qualche porta facilmente raggiungibile in pi.
Come hub, mi pare ben costruito. Si posiziona perfettamente alla base del Mac mini.
Le porte USB soprattutto sono di qualit, i cavi non sono per nulla “instabili” o rimovibili per errore.
Gli unici punti negativi sono tre:
1. Le porte USB sono da 5GB/s e non da 10 (lo standard pi recente);
2. Rispetto ad altri hub, questo manca di slot per un disco esterno in formato m.2;
3. L’assenza di un alimentatore esterno.
Come accessorio va bene, ma potrebbe essere migliorato.

Dislikes, transfer speed slows across the hub USB-c to USB-c when transferring files from a nVME SSD from 2.5Gbps plugged in the back of my mini to 800Mbps plugged in front of hub when using Blackmagic Disk Speed App.
The ports being on the front make it easy to connect devices to my 2020 Mac mini.

If you are serious about this product then I encourage you to do your own research independent of this site. Many reviews on Amazon are unfortunately not authentic, but paid to boost product ratings and sales which logically present a conflict of interest between you the buyer and Amazon the seller. I purchased this item, use it and still encourage you to seek reviews outside of Amazon to make an informed buying choice. I also can’t even suggested an alternate site with reviews of this product because Amazon will not approve this review saying it violates their community guidelines which really aren’t set up to be objective in the first place.
I’m entirely pleased with this Thunderbolt hub.
I’ll begin with the packaging. The package/presentation of the hub was superb. It followed similar packaging as the Mac Mini including the tab to pull the hub from its package. The hub was cradled in a nest inside the box that prevented it from shifting about during transport. The care in design of the packaging & presentation did much to allay my concerns over the purchase of the hub.
The design and manufacture of the hub is what I wanted. It has a cradle on the top to fit the base of the Mac Mini and assure it aligns with the hub. I was worried that the thunderbolt connection would be nothing more than an unprotected flex circuit with a connector at the end. I was wrong as the flat cable is well sheathed and protected with a good quality connector at the end. By the way, the hub arrived with the cable well protected and tucked into a cavity provided for it in the bottom of the unit. The Mac Mini stacks well on the hub and doesn’t shift and the two units are, in my opinion, a well designed and professional match. The only complaint I have (and it’s a MINOR complaint) is the indicator light on the front should be brighter and more closely match the intensity of the indicator light on the Mac Mini.
I’m quite happy with my purchase and have designed and built a stand to encase the Mac Mini and hub. Kudos to the design engineers and manufacturing of the hub.
Please with this product although the grey color was lishter that my new mac mini. It would have been great if they had bothered to match the color.
Bought this for the new M1 Mac Mini as it has next to no ports. The dock is the darker colour designed for the previous Intel Mac Mini but it does fit exactly, however the short docking cable does not perfectly align with the M1’s USBC port, but it is long enough to reach comfortably without causing any issues.
All the ports work well, it feels like a premium product and critically for me, it takes up no extra space on your desk.
All Mac mini’s should come with one of these as standard in my opinion.
At the price point I would expect to see a SATA connection to enable an external Solid State drive. Otherwise the unit works just fine, never had any heat form my M1 Mac mini so cannot comment on the docks ventilation ports.

Great hub to marry with your 2018+ Mac Mini, has just the I/O you need on the front, colour match with my 2018 mac mini isn’t exact but still I like the finish.
The next version of this could be outstanding with a few tweaks, powered ports maybe, a location for a SSD or M2 storage like this one:

Some people are saying their Minis are getting hot when using this dock but I’ve been using the dock with the Mac Mini base plate removed to help airflow and its been staying cool, Maybe the next version of this dock could attach to the Mac Mini in the same way the base plate does, just a thought.

I bought this product like many of us Mac Mini users there just isn’t enough ports.
With this device, I now have access to more x3 USB A slots and one more USB C. The most important thing as a content creator for me is now I have direct access to Micro/SD card slot which has saved me from buying a card reader plus keeps my desk neat.
Not the exact colour of my Mac Mini apart from that this is a great purchase for Mac Mini users.
I bought a new Mini early 2020. It has 4 USB-C and 2 USB 3 ports around the back. It doesn’t take much effort in a desktop environment to fill those up these days. Reaching around the back is not hard (the Mini is “mini” after all) but all the cables are so close to each other.
This hub takes up just one USB-C connector at the back and then gives you 1 x USB-C, 3 x USB 3, 1 x headphone port, 1 x micro SD and 1 x SD slot in a handy, front-mounted location.
There is also a little white LED in a similar location to the one on the Mac Mini – but it’s not easy to see from anything but a head-on angle.
The latest Mac Mini computers tend to run hot. The CPUs they’re using love running up to 80+ degrees. I’ve tweaked my fan settings to try and head-off such thermal nastiness and have not found this Satechi hub to add to the thermal problems. It has a clear flow of air through the hub to the inlets at the bottom of the Mini. This was my main worry prior to buying the hub – but I’ve not noticed the Mini behaving any differently with regards to the heat of the CPU/unit.
It’s not the most affordable accessory but it looks great and provides very handy access to ports. If you regularly want to plug in USB drives or plug in an iPad via USB-C then I recommend taking a look at this hub to make your life more fulfilled (OK, well, it’s handy).
Performance wise it ticks all the boxes. All the ports are working fine and as fast as I need. Just be aware that when inserting an SD card that you place it in upside down. The manufacturer claim that this hub is not designed for charging or giving power but I have found that it charges my apple Watch no problem and it also powers and charges my desktop USB fan, so that’s a bonus for me.

Looks very good sat under the Mac. Does exactly what you’d expect. If I had to change one existing feature, I’d make the feet more resistant to slipping. On my desk, when you try to insert a USB cable/key you need to hold the top of the Mac to stop the whole thing slipping around. Looking forward to an updated version with the ability to add an SSD…that would be just wonderful 🙂
I’d seen other reviews writing about issues with interaction with the bluetooth keyboard/mouse and also the colour not matching. For me these were not issues. I use the apple keyboard and mouse without issue, and the colour match is perfect! It looks fantastic and works so well. Having card slots on the front is so helpful along with high speed USB etc for pulling content on cameras etc.
Easy to connect the finish matches the Mac mini (current version) and offers useful ports on the front.
All in all, somewhat expensive, but does the job well.
Bei einer SanDisk Ultra Mico SDXC A2 schafft er, Write 62.8MB/s — Read 90.4 MB/s Der Micro SD Karten Slot ist schlecht gelst, die Karte sitzt etwas zu tief im Hub und geht daher sehr schwer wieder raus. Micro SD Karte zeigt nach oben.
Der SD Karten Slot wurde perfekt umgesetzt, mal abgesehen davon, dass die Karte nach unten zeigt. Beim SD Karten Slot steht die Karte etwas raus, einstecken und entfernen der Karte geht super.
Man kann beide SD Karten gleichzeitig nutzen.
Eine USB-C SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD direkt am Mini angeschlossen schafft 473MB/s Write, 528MB/s Read. Die gleiche Festplatte am USB-C Anschluss des Hubs 374MB/s Write, 413MB/s Read.
Leider geht mein Ipad Pro ber den Anschluss weder zu Laden, was ja noch ok wre, noch ist es fr Datenaustausch zu gebrauchen. Mit Adapter Kabel USB-A auf USB-c geht dann der Datenaustausch. Warum geht es nicht am USB-C Anschluss?
Der USB-C Stecker vorne sitz fest, was man von den USB-A Anschlsse nicht behaupten kann. Die Stecker gehen sehr leicht rein und raus, ist nicht sehr vertrauenswrdig, ist aber angenehm beim Anstecken. Hatte bisher keinen Datenverlust und hab schon einiges damit gemacht. Mein Iphone X, Garmin Fenix 5 und eine GoPro Hero 8 kann ich am USB A Anschluss Laden.
USB Anschlsse sind 3.0 Wird eine USB 3.0 Festplatte angeschlossen wird es in der Systemsteuerung auch so angezeigt. Iphone am USB Anschluss ist halt nur USB 2.0
Edit: upon reading other reviews, I can say that the Mac mini seems to run hotter when using this hub. I can’t see how the vents on this thing improve airflow compared to standalone. I plan to mod this thing and widen the vents to improve the air circulation.
Another complaint others have made is Bluetooth interference. Inside the hub is a thick metal plate bolted right in the centre. I have no idea what it does apart from giving the hub some weight. Perhaps it is causing signal attenuation?
One last thing, the USB ports are a bit loose. I would have liked it a bit firmer. The USB-C and audio ports seem fine though.

I spotted this on amazon at the bottom of the page whilst looking at another product and i’m so glad i did i purchased it and got it delivered the next day, i have a 2018 space grey mac mini and it’s frustrating trying to fiddle on to find a usb port at the back of it when i plug my iphone in or usb stick etc and now this stylish product looks as stunning as my mac mini and now it’s so much easier to plug my iphone in and my usb sticks and SD cards etc, if you have a mac mini 2018 then do not hesitate in purchasing this product you will not be disappointed

2019 Mac Minis do not have a card reader, this unit does, great bonus.
These are beautiful – complement the Mac and provide useful connectivity.
It’s unobtrusive and matches the Mac Mini look and aesthetic very well.
It gives the Mac Mini additional legacy ports and places these ports at the front of the device so that you don’t have to go fiddling around at the back of your Mac to connect devices.
It cuts down of the number of dongles that I need to use as it includes a 3 USB-A and 1 USB-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a couple of micro/SD card readers.
The ventilation on the devices is well thought out and allows airflow around the bottom of the Mac Mini.
Overall, I am very happy with the device HOWEVER none of the ports are powered. The ports are only for data. There is no thunderbolt 3 support, and this means that powering or charging devices is not possible with this hub. This is a shame because in every other way this product is great.
