I got this for my daughter as she’s been looking out for one for a while, she mainly wanted the watch for the step counter and the sleep tracking part of it, I got it in the rose gold colour and it very pretty looking, everything you need is inside the box to set it straight up, I’m not good with technology but my daughter knew exactly how to set it up but there are instructions to go through if need, my daughter loves it and she was very surprised with all the other features that were on the watch it can read your heard rate receive messages so all that was a pleasant surprise for her, it holds its charge really well and she never takes it off.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWell packaged and protected in a neat box.
The Sekonda motion smart watch looks good in plain black whilst not being flashy.
The app, once downloaded to a phone or tablet, is easy to use and setup. Screens can be customised with many different clock faces including classic looking digital ones with various setups of date and time.
The fitness tracker seems accurate as tested against a Garmin one.
Also tracks rest and heartbeat which also seems accurate.
The watch feels light on the wrist and the strap and buckle well made and secure.
Everything works well on the watch with a side button and touch screen.
The battery lasts well, about a week if not recording everything, shorter during heavier use. Charges easily from the USB cable provided.
At around 70 it’s priced well given the functions and quality.

Comfortable, easy to use, looks good.

This Sekonda Smart Watch is very good. I was surprised when this came up as I’ve been wanting a smart watch for ages. It’s very good and very good quality. I like the black and gold colour. It is very easy to charge and the battery of the watch lasts quite a while in between charges. There are so many things you can do with the watch. I didn’t think it was possible but it is. The rubber strap is good. Very easy for cleaning. A very good smart watch that is excellent value for money.

Beautifully crafted, super sleek looks and BUILT LIKE A TANK.

This watch is amazing, I freaking LOVE SEKONDA I mean its the name that sort of comes in just under the mainstream names but when you get down to the actual nitty gritty you find that you have one of the best quality items you are ever likely to own.

The watch works and it works well…. and its great, its really great AND its fairly cheap.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs usual, the package arrived very quickly from Amazon.

I ordered this Sekonda Motion 36mm Smart Watch as I liked the clean square look of it, and I have always liked watches, and thought it would be nice to change watches now and again.

When I opened the package and picked it up, I was surprised how light it was, it weighs 18.2 grms without the strap, with the strap on it weighs 33.7 grms, much lighter than my everyday watch.

Connecting via Bluetooth to my phone was very easy following the instructions, and setting up the app on my phone was just as easy, as for the app itself, it’s just OK, very basic, but it works, and connects to the phone well.

The good points for me are:

The size is small compared to my everyday watch, it slides under a shirt cuff, unlike my other watch.
The menu is easy to use.
Twisting the wrist for the screen to light up worked 99.99% of the time.
The music player controls work, but you may have to tap them more than once.
Steps seem to be quite accurate measured against a watch that costs 4 times as much, I switched both of my watches on when I got up, wore them all day, and just before I went to bed, my everyday watch read 10,407 steps and this Sekonda read 10,113, so 306 difference between them, which one is correct, who knows, but I don’t think it is a big difference over 10,000 steps.
    The heart rate seems accurate.
The temperature measurement seems extremely accurate if my digital thermometer is anything to go by, they both read 36.7.
The weather seems to be quite accurate, today’s high was 26 and that’s what the watch showed.
Find my phone worked perfectly as long as you are in range.
The timer worked perfectly as well.

    The downsides for me are:

There are only 5 sports modes, Walking, Running, Climbing, Riding (Cycling) and Basket Ball, for me these aren’t enough, the Walking and Running are useful, but there is no Weight Training, Yoga or Pilates which would have been useful.
The messages work for things like WhatsApp. SMS, Mail etc, but you don’t see the whole of the message, only five lines, there is no list of messages so you can scroll through them, and once you tap on the message to read it, it deletes it from the watch so you can’t go back and take a second look.
There are quite a few watch faces to choose from, but there aren’t that many decent ones, and most of them seem to be for children (see photo).
The charging lead is way too short.

At the time of writing this review the price is one penny short of 70, and personally I think you can get a better watch for the same price, or if you spend a little more, but for a basic smart watch it’s OK.

The squares on the table I use when photographing and videoing items are 1cm squares, you can use them to judge the size of items I photograph.

I hope you have found this review and video helpful.

    Nice first Smart Watch.

This watch comes nicely packaged and presented in a box. Inside is a charging cable and a quick start guide leaflet, basically telling you to charge the watch and download the app. There were no other instructions about actually using the watch; instead the quick start guide tells you to go to the website for instructions. There are no instructions on the website that I could find for this particular model of watch. I did not need them anyway, as using the watch is quite straight forward and simple to use, and other useful settings come from the app on my phone. I discovered later that the manual can be downloaded if you scroll to the bottom of their website and click on the “Instruction manuals” link, under “Your watch” and input the watch model number.

I found that the included charging cable was a bit fiddly and came off easily when sitting the watch down once attached, or it moved off the watch charging pins, I found this quite annoying as I could not tell if the watch was being charged, or if it started to charge then stopped. The only indication I got was a quick lightning symbol flashing on the watch display. I figured out, that if I press the side button on the watch and swipe down, then I could see the charging indicator, which is a little turquoise circle in the upper left corner.

The online pdf manual does not mention anything about charging other than to charge the watch for two hours before first use.
The FAQ section on their website states ” Please note that where possible it is preferable to use a USB plug adapter to charge your watch” This should be clearly stated on the QuickStart guide and the online PDF manual. The included charging cable is very short and will make charging from an adaptor quite inconvenient. A longer cable for this purpose should have also been included with the watch; also, having an ancient USB-A type connector on the opposite end of the charging cable is a step back; a USB type C connector would have been much better.

In saying all that, I really like this watch, it looks great and works well, so far. I have adjusted the brightness to a higher setting and adjusted the screen time-out to a longer duration, and with the app I can also customise many settings including the watch face, which has many faces to choose from. I would have liked another strap included in the box as I’m not so keen on the smooth rubbery feel of the one that comes with the watch; although it does look good. I would prefer a fabric or leather strap.

    I would recommend this watch.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAh yes. Sekonda. A name that some pretentious types shy away from, while the rest of us sit up and take notice because for decades they’ve been producing high quality watches at affordable prices. Yes: I’m a fan, have been for years, and this smart-watch has cemented my fondness for the company’s offerings.

    It’s very good indeed.

Supplied in a neat, simple white cardboard box with an image of the watch on the face and a summary of features on the back, first impressions are good. Opening reveals the watch (really, like all smart-watches, a small wrist-worn computer) neatly presented in a felt-covered bed, under which the power-lead and basic setup information can be found. Simple, inexpensive, but neat, well thought out and does the job required of it.

Extracting the watch itself, the rubber strap is also a simple, neat affair, not ‘styled’ as such, but with a gentle taper & rounding, a decent buckle and the usual two matching loops. The watch body is light, also neatly styled like most smart watches (rather like a smooth pebble).

Charging was quicker than I expected, though the USB cable is inconveniently short. A minor detail, but a little irritating if you don’t have a convenient socket to hand. Fortunately, they are becoming more common, and longer leads are not expensive. Nevertheless, not ideal. Setup is as straightforward as you would expect, the screen clear and with decent brightness. All good. The range of features is good (especially at this price); integration with other hardware is OK -not up to the standards of an Apple Watch but in fairness, you’re paying a lot less and it’s still pretty solid, with a fairly accurate pulse monitor, the usual steps etc. for fitness, and some basic features for controlling smart-phones, reading messages etc. It can also tell you what time it is, and has a stopwatch feature too. Might catch on, that…

Humour aside, for the price, there is little to criticise here. It does much of what more expensive products do for significantly less money, is neatly made and styled, and being a Sekonda, I expect reliability to be excellent. Recommended.

    Sekonda Motion 36mm Smart Watch

    Aesthetically pleasing
It has basic functions like heart rate, temperature, sleep count, calorie count, music, timer, and stopwatch. There are features like different sports and find phone that are suitable for more active users of smartwatches. I personally just use it casually for everyday functions, especially the time telling, step counter, and relax feature.
Easy to connect to my Android phone. Simply dl the HitfitPro app and follow the instructions.
It can be used with or without connecting to your phone.
The battery lasts longer if it is not connected to your phone, which is standard for smartwatches. As I observed, it lasted about 4 to 5 days before the red line showed up.
It has a Do Not Disturb feature, ideal when you want to stay quiet, but unfortunately, you can’t set it for a specific time.
100% waterproof. I usually forget that I wear it when washing my hands or taking a shower, and it works fine.
Alerts me when I receive a message in real-time.
    Huge and reactive touch screen

There is quite a delay when it automatically turns on when you turn at 90degress, but not a biggie as you can always press the button on the side to check the time.

I can’t say that the reading is totally inaccurate, but there are times that it is questionable. For example, I stayed the whole day at home, and the reading said I had 3k steps.

Overall, its quality is comparable to known and reputable brands. Great for daily use. It is too early to say if it is durable, but it could have been better if it came with a warranty after 30 days.

Decent quality, suitable for every day use

Everyone of my age or older remembers the Sekonda watch brand if only for the Ronnie Barker adverts. I wasn’t aware that they were still going to be honest, nor that they are a British designed brand, but it is good to see that they are still around and are keeping up with trends by producing a fitness/smart watch.

With this Sekonda Motion watch you get the typical too-short magnetic USB charging cable. It’s all nicely presented in a box and would therefore make a suitable gift. Given that this was a branded Sekonda smart watch with a 70 price tag I was interested to see what it had over and above the numerous non-brand fitness/smart watches that are out there. There was no instruction manual that I could see, but it was easy enough to use.

In terms of features the answer is on face value not an awful lot. It tells the time, has a stop watch, pedometer, various sports to record your time doing them, sleep, temperature and heart monitors, as well as some smart watch features to control your phone, take photos (using the phone) and read messages etc. that I am less likely to use. I do like that it has a very basic meditation mode, which is basically the watch screen telling you when to exhale and inhale. Simple, but it works. Usage time is supposed to be up to 10 days, which compares quite well to some of the cheaper alternatives.

Unfortunately, like the majority of the aforementioned non-brand watches, the Sekonda Motion smart watch relies in part at least on a 3rd party app for some of its functions. You could delete the app off your phone when it has been set up and use many of the functions standalone, but annoyingly – inexcusably so in my opinion – you can’t even set the time directly from the watch. In my view a watch is not really a watch unless you can at least set the time on it. Instead it gets the time by syncing to your phone’s time once you have set the app up. The app in question, HiFit Pro is not the best even to judge against a bad lot of similar apps, but it is tolerable I guess. I will mostly ignore it and use the watch screen for most features.

Appearance-wise it is a larger watch than I would normally choose, but not freakishly so and I personally like its clean, discreet looks. I also like the soft strap, which has plenty of adjustability and feels secure. There’s a physical button on the side (where a watch winder would be) that turns the screen on and then off again. You can also buy other straps to go with this in various colours.

    In use:
Having charged and set up the watch via the app I was ready to go. It didn’t take long at all to charge, but it is possible that it may have arrived with some already charge in it. The button on the side turns the watch screen on and shaking your wrist is also supposed to wake the watch face, but try as I might that just didn’t work for me. It’s annoying as it means that I always have to have my other hand free to turn the screen on a sit times out quite quickly to save battery life. You can adjust how long the screen is on etc. though longer times will mean it lasts less days.

The screen is nice and clear and responds well to touch though as with other such watches it is quite easy to select the wrong mode as they are all packed in a bit on the screen. The default screen is the watch face, which makes sense, and the menu, where all other screens are accessed from, is reached by swiping left. In terms of simplicity and ease of use I would rate it quite highly, the best I have used so far. There are four watch faces/dials to choose from with the watch. If you want more you will have to use the app and pay for them. To be honest the in-app versions seemed more childish and tacky to me and I am happy with Sekonda’s small selection. You can also use your own photos for backgrounds, but you will have to give the app access to your media for that, and I am reluctant to do so. In fact, I limit the access that these 3rd party apps have to my phone as much as possible. It is shame that Sekonda didn’t do their own app as you have a situation whereby the watch is to some extent limited and let down by the app in my opinion.

I found that I did have more faith in the step counter, heart rate and temperature monitors included in this watch than I have with my non-brand Chinese ones, though perhaps that’s just my perception of Sekonda and the quality of the screen allowing me to delude myself? The display really is very nice and clear and touch response is noticeably better than on cheaper watches in my opinion. I also like the graphics which are simple, effective and nicely done. This again makes me wonder why Sekonda didn’t partner with a better app or do their own as they clearly know how to make things look good and be clear and easy to read and could translate that knowledge to a suitably useful and less intrusive app.

Lastly, this watch has a water resistance rating of IP68, which they say protects it from submersion up to a depth of 1.5 metres for a maximum of 30 minutes. The product info. says ideal for bathing and swimming. I’m not sure if I would try that myself, but it shouldn’t mind getting wet and I did run mine under the tap with no ill-effects.

I don’t use a smart phone to take pictures, make calls, get message notifications etc. as I am more interested in the fitness options, but all of the customary features are there in this watch if that’s what you want.

    PROS:
The watch itself looks really nice, is reasonably lightweight and with its soft-feel strap is comfortable to wear.
The screen is very crisp and clear and responds accurately to touch, which you need on small, smart watch screens.
The graphics of the various modes are all good; clean-looking, easy to read, and nice to look at.
Built in face options, while limited, are all well chosen.
I like the temperature monitor and relax app, both of which aren’t on the other smart watches that I have used.
A reasonable amount of options are available in the watch i.e. screen brightness, screen close down time etc.
Purported operating time of up to 10 days is good.
Charging seemed to be a relatively quick process.
In so far as I can tell the measuring functions appear to be accurate.
It has IP68 rated water resistance.
Has all the functions that you would be likely to want/need in a fitness watch with many smart watch features also included.
Quality overall seems a step up from the cheaper non-brand smart/fitness watches.

    CONS:
Twisting your wrist to turn the display on doesn’t seem to work for me.
It relies on a 3rd party app to set the time and to customise the face etc. to any degree, and the app wants a bit too much access (as they always do) to your phone and your details.
Not the slimmest or smallest watch if those are considerations for you.
Quite expensive, though a quality item.
A lack of sport modes – just walking, running, climbing, riding, basketball. Where’s skipping or also swimming as it’s waterproof? And why basketball in the UK?

    OVERALL:
I don’t feel the need to wear a fitness/smart watch as my every day watch and so when I do it is mainly for fitness. I have been wearing this quite a bit though as it is very comfortable. On those occasions when I do wear a fitness watch, I would definitely choose this one in preference to my existing smart watch as while that one is also good, the screen, touch sensitivity, measuring and overall quality just seem better on the Sekonda. I haven’t used a Fitbit, Samsung or Apple Watch and so I can’t compare them with this, but I expect that if they have their own dedicated apps that they would be better for those who want the best and can afford it. This is a very nice watch though that has most if not all of the features you could want and seems to be very well made. I question the value of it slightly, but nevertheless I do value the excellent display and how the screen reacts, and it is well put together and has a very comfortable and secure strap. I also have to admit that not being able to set the time without the app really grates on me as does the app generally, as it is the quality that you would find in use with cheaper smart watches. If you are looking for a watch with this one’s feature set and want something a step or two above the mass of non-brand watches out there, but can’t quite reach for the pricier options then this watch would probably be a good place to start your search.

A comfortable, easy to use fitness/smart watch, but a it pricey for what it is.

As smart watches go, this is a pretty good one. This watch was originally for my hubby but the strap was very tight on him so I tried it on and it fits me fine as I have much smaller wrists.

I downloaded the HitFit Pro app and I was ready to go.

This watch has a nice bright display screen unlike others I’ve owned where I couldn’t see the screen properly in the sun.

It’s easy to use and does all the main things I want such as: counting steps, heart rate, music, sleep, messages and exercise.

Nice smart watch with a good size display. Shame it doesn’t come with a larger size strap though.

I really like this Sekonda motion smartwatch.

It looks good on my wrist, I have pink which is not a bright pink but more of a dusty pink, I’m pleased with that. There are other colours too.

You can do so much with watches nowadays, and this Sekonda smartwatch is no exception. Just connect to blue tooth which tells you to download an app.

Check messages, the phone gives alerts for this, see your email, play music, visit social media and more. You can personalize you watch by a picture in the app or the watch itself has a lot to choose from.

This watch can tell you your heart rate, tells what type of sleep you have been in, how many calories you burn when doing sport, or at rest, the amount of steps you have taken and more.

Thank you for reading this review, I hope it helped you.

    Sekonda smartwatch.

Smart watch from Sekonda, requires the HitFit Pro app on your phone to produce the best results.
The watch keeps good time, and it’s also a great way to keep up your steps as a pedometer.
It will also keep a check on your heart rate and many other physical aspects.
It will also act as a conduit for notifications from your phone, e-mail text what’s app etc..
Comes with a charger cable but not a charger head a tad annoying but the price point is probably a reflection of that.

    Tick tock

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a very good price for what it does. It is half the price of the fit bit versa. The only issue is it lacks good app integration and social media links where you can challenge your friends to workouts as it’s not a popular app.

The hardware is good though. The screen is nice and bright, even outside on a sunny day. It has all the main tracking features like steps and sleeps patterns. It also works well with notifications which show on your phone and then pings them to the watch as well. The heart rate sensor is accurate and it did a good job at working out my calories. Navigation of the watch settings was simple, similar to the apple watch. The hitfit pro app was okay but nothing as good as the fitbit one or apple watch one – although you can compete on leaderboards with your friends – no one I know used this app so I couldn’t try it out. It charges on a magnetic usb connection. There is no way to pay for items on it like you can with some smartwatches. The watch is also waterproof. I like using it to skip tracks I am listening to on my phone without getting my phone out of my pocket. An amazing price for such a high-featured smart fitness watch.
