I have put a 1 star on sound quality only because this product does not actually produce any sound. it is a battery system that allows you to take your echo dot on the move with you. I bought the earlier version a few years ago and have used it over 3 years, but the battery eventually died. Bought this as a replacement.
I really like this item, it gives me the ability to take the echo Dot out into the garden for background music for those alfresco summer meals or around the house when doing DIY.
Really love this means my alexa is portable if I want some songs in the bathroom or outside when having a BBQ. This is my second one and the only reason it has 4 starts in my first broke after a year and a half.
I use the speaker to wake me up in the morning with radio 4. The battery pack enables me to take it into the bathroom and the kitchen and to keep listening.
When not in use and not plugged into the mains supply you have to remember to switch it off using the button as displayed in photo until the blue lights go off or it just drains the battery very quickly.
You must remember to plug it into the mains every night for the enabled routine to work because it does not hold the charge for long when in battery mode.
It does the job I need it for and it is portable but remember that when it is switched on even if it is not playing the battery drains quickly which can be annoying. So it does have its limitations.
Great idea, but I wish there was some way they turned off when you ask the Dot to turn off. I keep losing the battery charge because I forget to turn it off. It does make the dot more portable and easier to use in different rooms around the house instead of having to purchase more dots.
Perfect to place an Echo dot new our front door linked to a Blink doorbell, as we don’t have a power socket near the door. Works well and lasts all day. Slight issue but customer support managed to resolve the issue very quickly. Very pleased with the product. Maybe buy the higher power version if you want it to last more than 8 hours but this is perfect for me.

I like to use this in the Bathroom were a Power Source isn’t Allowed for a PLUG In VERSION. I Charge it up on the Bedroom Socket from my other Dot3 Eco then Take it were i need it around the house. Usually getting around 8 / 10 Hors Play from 1 Charge. Takes around 2/3 Hrs to charge up Fully

I switch off in between uses and have found the battery lasts well.
Connects perfectly to my Dot. Like that it has a top bit to keep it together when moving it. Dot works fine on battery. I have no idea how long the charge lasts as not used it over a long period. Worth buying.

Right so I got this for my wife for Xmas she loved it and started using it. We’re not even 2 weeks into the new year and already it doesn’t charge and doesn’t even work whilst it’s plugged in. Do not buy it. I’m going to try and get money back or a new one just in case this one is faulty.

It’s a great little gadget. The only downside is that the battery doesn’t last that long. The believe the next model is better for this.
