This is a great purchase. I’ve owned one for a year now and use it daily I have a weak lower back and suffer from pain. This is comfortable in use and highly adjustable. I wear over a t shirt as although it’s breathable, it can make direct contact with skin very sweaty. I don’t have any issues when wearing and it has prevented most of my troubles, in fact the only real time I suffer is when I forget to wear it. So I highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have used a clever yellow belt for the last two years off and on. This new belt I have is to replace the one I have already so both are clever yellow
Belts the original belt is still usable it has not worn out when it is I have the new one ready to replace it The belt is excellent for my weak lower disks
They slip out at times and I put the belt on fast
Which stops the disks slipping out and pressing on
The nerve running down my spine the double belt makes a big difference seems to help push the disk
Back into place after a few days. I found it also warms my back in spring and summe

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersAs a three score years and ten person, and also quite tall I have suffered with my back for decades. Recently and thinking that I was only mid 40’s again, I put up over 100′ of post and rail fencing, using Postcrete, which is a fantastic product but which is also very heavy to lift. With only a couple of posts and their rails to go my back went. I know the problem but my old back support gave up the ghost years ago so I plumped for this product. It is very, very well made, the double fastening idea is very neat and it also gives immediate support. I have now finished the fence with the back support on and it helped immensely. For a start up company the product is first class – I just hope and trust that they don’t dilute the quality of the belt in order to increase profits because as it stands it is a super product and I for one am very pleased with it. Keep up the good work guys and gals and thank you.

I have used it only a couple of times as I was getting increasing pain in my hip. It has supported me well. Although it is light, on me as a female, I was vert aware of it through my clothes (top), so really need to wear something loose. It is not restrictive and comfortable to wear.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve started a new job with more manual work and week after week I experienced back pain getting worse ,to a point I didn’t know if I could carry on with the job.I read reviews and decided to give it a try .The quality is superb and very comfy to wear but I can’t believe how it’s turned my life around .On day 1 it took so much pain away and each day and week a great improvement.4 weeks in and I’m having to remind myself to wear it as I know longer get up in the morning in constant pain.Yes I can still feel a small strain on my lower back while doing the tasks that cause it but it’s constantly improving.I can not praise this back brace enough ,best 25 I’ve ever spent .

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve been suffering from excessive and debilitating lower back pains, which I believe especially exacerbated by prolonged periods of sitting at my desk or sometimes on the couch as I work from home. I was really desperate and started researching for back pain relief and lumbar support products.
Decided on this product and it has been literally God sent! On the first day, I wore it for probably about 6-8 hours while working. And when I finally removed it before I popped into the shower, I genuinely felt that 40-50% of the pain had subsided.
It has been 4 days of use now and although I’m still experiencing some residual lower back pain, there is no doubt that this product has tremendously helped alleviate a lot of it. So I will continue to religiously use it whenever possible.
Thank you ever so much for providing such a great functioning product. I’m sure many more people who suffer from lower back pain like myself would benefit from this.

    Instant pain relief

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was sceptical about buying this belt, I have Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and 5 fractures in my back. I have been in much pain for 18 months and painkillers can only do so much. Since I have been wearing this belt I feel supported and the pain is a lot less. I can definitely recommend this product.

Having tolerated back/sciatic problems for some time I decided, after reading reviews to try this belt. I’ve worn it every day since it arrived a few days ago and I must say it does support me much more than the older belts I have. Being able to tighten it using the external elastic straps to provide more firmness and hold my back in place is just fabulous, it also makes me stand up straighter which is helping ease the pain and muscle spasms.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe other reviews are completely accurate, this has been a miracle for my back pain. I dont write reviews but i felt i had to share with anyone who’s suffering, the relief it has given me is incredible. Ive suffered long term with back pain but this summer it went past the point where i could manage it. I started with my chiropractor in July and he is truly a magical wizard. With his help I am now pain free in my upper back, neck and head. The origin of it all is in my lower back and it is still very soar. 3 wks ago he went on holiday and i was in terrible pain. Literally having to lie flat with cold packs a couple of times a day. How was i going to last 3 wks without him … so i bought this. This belt not only supports it relives the pain. Honestly pain free. It helps when im bending by preventing me over stretching, it allows me to sit in a chair again without cold packs, i can stand and talk or work without pain. It is fantastic. When i went to my chiro today and showed him he is so impressed hes taken the details to recommend it to others. He explained it is compressing my lower back keeping the skeleton in place and allowing the healing to take place. Hes told me to wear it as much as i want, it is genuinely aiding my body’s recovery. Also i can slip my cold pack inside it which is brilliant for when im at work and still need to move around. As others have said, best 25 spent! A good chiropractor is worth their weight in gold and cold packs are life saving but this belt is the final piece of the puzzle.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was unexpectedly diagnosed with osteoporosis. I sought a back and posture support, chose this one and glad I did. It’s not uncomfortable, but I don’t wear it constantly. It can interfere a little with other daily clothing items (e.g work trousers). I think it’s well made, fairly comfortable, appropriately priced, delivery was almost instant. If could offer any personal advice it would be this, 1) don’t over tighten it, 2) take time getting used to it. It has helped with easing back strain / pain so I have no issues or regrets over buying it.
    Regards,
    DB

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI’ve held back on writing this review as I wanted to make sure my initial views stood the test of time and they have. Having suffered from recurring disc problems for decades, sporting activities have always been high risk, but not any more. I use the support for playing Badminton and it’s brilliant. I wear it next to the skin, so it does get a little hot and sweaty, but it’s invisible under normal sportswear and I’m totally unaware of wearing it. I paid extra for next day delivery as I was in so much pain, the relief was instant and the pain killers went back in the cupboard. I can’t promise it will work for everyone and I wouldn’t recommend excessive use, as this could have a negative long term effect. Added bonus, I’ve been told I’m looking slim and fit by those who don’t know I’m wearing it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As it says in the title, best 25 + postage I’ve ever spent. If I could give it a 100 star rating I would and that’s from the ultimate cynic who rarely writes reviews. Ps I am in no way related to the product or the company who sells it, although I would happily be so. I hope you find the same level of relief that I have, which without exaggeration, has to me been life changing.

Back sore so wore yesterday for the first time. Fits well and can be as tight as you want. I wore it next to m6 skin and by the end of the working day had some really sore patches where the rough wedges had rubbed my skin. Wore over a light vest top today and it was much better.
I would recommend this product but wear something in between skin and belt.

I tend to experience lower back pain a couple of times a year – usually after some physical activity / other types of movement. Last week, I had just done a long hike after a long break which brought some pretty intense lower back pain. I could barely sit straight and I had to move very slowly. When I started using this belt, I could instantly feel the pain somewhat subsiding when sitting down and moving. After 2 days of wearing it during the day, most of the pain was gone. After 4 days, I was ready to do a 100 km ultra hiking challenge. I also wore the belt during the trail and I was able to finish it without any back pain (though other parts of the body hurt, which was to be expected). Overall, I would say this belt had a much larger impact for me than all the ibuprofen I usually take in such instances.

In recent months I managed to really damage my back. Muscles are locked up and it seems that a lower vertebrae is being pushed/rotated out of position – and is causing real problems with pressing on nerves. Not comfortable and a long road to recovery. I had intended to be using this to help with some activities/sports that I like doing – but I find that I’m not using it for those, rather for the entirely opposite activity of sitting working at my desk. It stops me slumping. It keeps me upright and in a good position, and it really feels comfortable and also strong. I feel good wearing it. It takes pain away and hopefully means that I don’t cause further damage through bad posture at the desk. I don’t rely on this – as soon as I leave the desk for different activities then off it comes, hopefully allowing my body to work on resolving some of the issues that it faces. I’m really pleased that I bought this one and very much recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have had lower back pain for over 20 years now. Fortunately it’s mostly a background ache. It bothers me most if I’m standing around or walking very slowly, and that happens often when I’m out with my grandkids. I get to the point where my back not only aches but feels weak and I have to stop and sit down for a while even though I’m not generally tired. My back just won’t take any more.

Wearing this back support has completely resolved that problem. I’ve used it twice now over the long bank holiday weekend and on both occasions my back felt comfortable the whole time and there was no pain, no weak feeling and no need to sit down.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that I like to keep it hidden and wear it under my T-shirt: the outer two straps that are to tension the belt have quite a hard edge to them (and they probably need to have that hard edge) but they can be seen through my T-shirt as lumps. Perhaps an additional piece of fabric that velcros across the entire front fastening would smooth that out so that it is not so readily visible.

The advertising pictures show trendy young people wearing it on the outside of their clothes, but I’m in my 70s and don’t like to admit to needing a back support and I wish to wear it discretely. 🙂

It’s not the easiest belt to fit. I feel its more of a giant elastic band. It does give some support with compression. The bars are too thin and can dig into me during day. They really could do with being wider. Does offer some relief to back pain lower but I’m sure there is much better out there at a much higher price but they are hard to find online or in stores. For long term abck pain you need go doctor and get a pro one fitted to you. But for occasional pain this does the job for i g you to have correct posture or you get stomach crunched.

    It works

Early days yet, only had it a few weeks but i notice it more when i’m not wearing it, i can feel slight pain in the back, where as i don’t when i’m wearing it. Taking it steady at the moment, sometimes it rides up from your waist and gets slightly sweaty but overall i’m pleased with it.

I have problems with my lower spine (deterioration of discs), plus an ongoing muscle problem in the lower spine/hip area. I have had numerous medical appointments which have done no good at all.
I decided to give this product a try after seeing it on Amazon. I have to say it has been a huge help.
PRO’s- Well made, solid fit and feels like its holding everything in place, giving relatively good movement as well as support. The main strap wraps around and Velcros at the front, then two elasticated additional side straps add to the support , and are tightened to whatever degree you choose.
I have tried this under clothing and on top of clothing too.
CON’s- It can be a bit hot/sweatty if worn directly on the skin and a little uncomfortable over longer periods. I have used a thin vest or t-shirt type top underneath to make more comfortable. The material is a neoprene type, and elastic.
OVERALL- if you can cope with the close fit the support is substantial and has massively eased my back pain. I’m ordering at least one, maybe two more so I can rotate them between washing and wearing them.
NOTE- it States hand wash only on the label

I have only worn it once so far, but am happy with the results. I am usually in a lot of pain after spending a day on my feet, lower back pain is awful. This weekend, I wore this back support and whilst I was still in a little bit of pain by the end of the day, it was nothing in comparison. Ok, it is a little uncomfortable to wear, I read other reviews and wore a thin t-shirt underneath which helped and it was sweet relief when I took it off at the end of the day. But the pain was much improved and I will continue to wear it on those days when I am standing for longs periods.

Bought this as my lower back was stiffening up after a couple of hours of gaming. I lean forward in my seat (as many other gamers do) but after a session I’d go to stand up and my lower back would be seized up. Left me in pain for a few days after. I bought this strap to try and help my posture and wow what a difference. It doesn’t stop my leaning forward but helps pull my lower back in so I can game for a few hours and not end up as a crippled mess. Would recommend for other 30 somethings who like me suffer back pain gaming.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought one of these two years ago for using in my home gym.
I use it only to support my back for the lighter lifts until I need to get my proper heavy duty weight belt out which gives my back more support when under load than this back support.

This back support is fantastic to be honest it gives me great support over a large area of my lower back and I have used it for 2 years now about twice a week whilst weight training.

It is really comfortable to wear and easy to really tighten up. All in all a great back support.

The only problem I found with this back support was the Velcro wears off eventually which makes it unusable because there is then nothing to stick the straps together to tighten it up.
You can see from the pictures I have uploaded what I mean.

Don’t get me wrong this is a great back support for the 22 I spent on it 2 years ago and I couldn’t of been happier with it.
I do have another back support which is just a simple wrap around one with a Velcro edge which I purchased around the same time and have worn as often as this one. But the Velcro is still good on that one and it cost me under 10. Obviously it doesn’t give me the same amount of support but the Velcro is far superior.

It is just such a shame it is unusable after only using it twice a week for just two years because of the not so great Velcro.
It really lets the belt down unfortunately.

I would buy another and am thinking about it but now the price has Increased by 5 pushing the price up to nearer the 30 mark I think I will wait until the seller has a sale to buy another if he ever does or wait until he improves the quality of the Velcro.

An honest review after two years of use.

I purchased this after injuring my lower back, I need something that was going to provide good level of support.
This product seem to have the most and best reviews, so decided to give it a go.

It has been an absolute godsend whilst my lower back has been recovering, the strain to my lower back has prevented me from undertaking many movements or even standing up straight, this thing has provided A great amount of support and honestly I could not have been without it whilst going through recovery.

It is comfortable, has a good level of adjustment, sits perfectly across the lower back, and has a good level of reinforcement to provide adequate support.

The material is comfortable, feels a little bit like wearing a wet suit, and for me has provided instant pressure/pain relief.

It has worked well both on top and under a T-shirt, and is comfortable to wear both standing, sitting and lying down.

I have not used this to attempt to work or undertake much activity yet, but whilst needing support from injury recovery it has been fantastic.

I have had a bad back for 20+ years and every few months suffer from severe bouts of muscle spasms and lower back pain.
My pain reached an unbearable level and I started looking at support belts and saw this. It sounded like everything I needed. I ordered it at 10am and it arrived by 7pm.
I put it on straight away and couldn’t believe the fantastic support it gave and instant pain relief. It acts like a corset. Pulls you in and lifts you up. My posture was improved and my torso unable to slouch, so sitting and standing in a very upright position. You can easily alter it to be less restrictive.
I don’t recommend you try wearing it while driving.
I work 12 hour shifts and do a lot of moving and positioning and on my feet long periods at a time. The brace saw me through this well.
I use the back support every time I feel a back twinge now and it sorts it out quickly.
I recommended the back support to my mum who was complaining of a sore lower back and she was amazed at how well it helped her pain and her posture.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI will try to describe the profound effect this support belt has had on my life.

Three days ago I could only walk with extreme pain. I could barely get upstairs at the end of the day and getting up and down from a seat was excruciating. Sitting all day in my office chair was out of the question. My pain has been like this for nearly a year, sleeping was only possible with strong pain relief – which I hate.

I was skeptical after trying kneeling seats, air cushions, a new mattress, yoga, physio and chiropractic help all to no avail. Enter the support belt. To say my life is completely different would be a gargantuan understatement!

I can now walk, go out on my motorbike get through the majority of the day pain free, and the pain I do have is 1-2 rather than 8-9. This was all within 24 hours!

I am a size 18-20 female and bought the XL. I have a Pars Interarticularis fracture and a disk prolapse in L5/S1. I wear the belt as tight as I can comfortably make it.

    Astounded!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI live in Tenerife and suffer from two hernias in my lower spine, which gives me very painful sciatica and I visit a specialist English Chiropractor on a weekly basis for treatment. I showed the belt to him and he thought it was good quality at a price that was very reasonable. He suggested that I wear it when I am out and about, but not at home when resting.

The belt is very well made and not too restrictive, and it comes with instructions in several languages. Unfortunately there is no posting offered to Tenerife, which is a pity as it was inconvenient to have it sent to an address in the UK and then brought over by somebody. It is very easy to post to Tenerife, so I don’t know why this service is not offered. There is probably a couple of hundred thousand of British expats living in the Canary Islands and most of them are of an age where they may need back support, so it would be sensible to offer to post the product to here.

I know that my Chiropractor, who attends to people of many nationalities would recommend this product to some of them, but not if there is a problem with postage to overseas destinations. There are millions of expats living in the different countries of Europe that this product could be of interest to.

Having said that, apart from the inconvenience of getting the support belt to my home location, the belt is a quality product that really does represent good value for money.

Having had my sciatica for over 6 months I was desperate to find anything that would help take the pain away. MRI’s had shown disc bulge at L5/S1 sitting on the S1 root and no physiotherapist I saw had been able to offer any exercise regime that provided assistance. Pain killers, lumber root sleeve injection also offered no help. After looking at the reviews I purchased this belt. To be clear it has done nothing in terms of reducing my pain (operation now scheduled) but I am very pleased to have purchased it. It is made of high quality materials, has an excellent double adjustment Velcro system to provide fantastic fit and so stays in place (doesn’t need constant readjustment). So, if it hasn’t helped with the pain then why 5 stars? Well, for me the brace has provided greater confidence, I’m not twisting my discs as much as I was (at least that’s what I believe) and it gives me added strength/support in my lower back. I’m really pleased I bought it and only wish I had some 6 months ago – if I had I might be in a far better place. I showed the brace to my spinal surgeon consultant who was equally impressed with the fitting system and he felt such a product could possibly help recovery / provide assistance and I will be using it straight after my discectomy (so long as it doesn’t irritate the site) and update review then.

UPDATE: Post operation was told not to wear it – need to get my core muscles doing what they should be doing apparently!

Just purchased my second one of these within a month, as I work at two different places and after using one for just a few hours I know dread to think if ever I left this behind, don’t have that problem now I have 2 (one at each place of work).
I have had several back supports in the last 20+ years as I work in a sitting position for 6-7 hours a day, I really do suffer with back problems and find that a support helps to keep me in the correct position to carry out my work and to do as it says supports my back. I tend to wear this over a T-shirt, to avoid having to have to wash this as will get sweaty if next to the skin, like any other support next to the skin. This support excels on several points , the ribbing around the waist that helps stiffen the neoprene and the extra tabs to pull the whole support tighter which when done, feels is if someone is behind me holding my back and waist which feels is not only comfortable but reassuring that I am being supported adequately. As with all back supports (that use this system to tighten/attach) the velcro over time will wear away as it is taken off and on, but just by the quality of manufacturing of this thing I know it will last a while. To be honest, if it only lasts a year I will be more happy , as to be supported THIS WELL every working day (5 days per week) it is worth its weight in gold (or nearly).
Can’t recommend enough, great product at the right price.

Golden Review Award: 221 From Our UsersI have a couple of reviews of this item, i bought three. This was the last one. After a few years experience i can review in more detail
firstly, if you have experience of any kind of back pain then you have come here not as a last resort, but as a stop gap, or at least that is my hope. This item may help support, but it does not cure the underlying problem. posture. as with the vest intentions in the world, you cannot help that re-curing back pain without some for of input via exercise. I personally use robin mkenzie’s treat your own back. What made me get this item though was that after some years i had neglected my exercise regime . I though an easier way was to just support instead. How wrong was i. This item actually worked fine at the time, but after using for a few months my back was worse than it had ever been. So, i have now resorted back to my mkenzie exercises instead. I am not saying this belt is useless, i am just warning that it is not the miracle to cure that painful back. If you are to use this i would also exercise and also sit up straight after use, keep a hood posture. It does keep the back draught free and it does support. This is my experience and i still rate it high for what it is, however, i do not use it any more as i now after three months of careful exercise have no need for it, but should i have a need i will try it again as a combination if i have to

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBack pain. I do a lot of lifting in regards to servers, computers, towers, heavy racks (reaching up to 30kgs+). I thought I could do it as a young person, but my back has given in. I struggle to stand for long periods of time, and my back decides to lock up on its own accord, it’s a huge downer on me, and has affected my self confidence. Went out and looked for a solution online, and tried everything. You know those black lower back supports on those well known auction sites, well one snapped, another gave no support at all, and the metal clasp ones felt like my waist was being strangled!

So here I go, and find this AcitveBak support, 5 start glowing reviews, but a price that is a tad expensive compared to others. But there is that old saying, you pay peanuts, you get…monkey nuts! I decided to get this and pay the extra ‘s and boy oh boy, what a difference. From the moment you put it on, the support is just right, not to much, not to little. Best part of it all? It’s adjustable! You choose how much support you want to give your back, and you choose how comfortable you want to be. This has made an AMAZING difference in my life. I honestly thought I was going to be paralysed! As people say here, the NHS is terrible, 2 years running, they still are booking me in for appointments. I had the greatest feeling of picking up that phone, and saying cancel them all, i’m back up and running!

After putting it on for the first time, it does feel like your back is on helium floating you left and right, it’s weird having something being able to sort out your posture (especially if you’re on the computer for long periods) But when you take it off, its just amazing to see that your body CAN recover from the damage so long as it’s given that little support. You can’t put a price on your health…

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFirst of all, I read nearly every customer comment before buying this belt and was quite disconcerted to find out that a lot of them had received this item free in return for an honest comment. For the record, I paid for this belt. It cost 22.47 and postage was free.

Approximately 20 years ago I damaged by lower back in an accident. Over the years I have seen physiotherapists, osteopaths, tried various painkillers and other remedies. Some things have worked better than others. Modern NHS physiotherapists are, as far as I am concerned, a waste of time as they are a box ticking exercise only. Over the years I have seen two osteopaths and both were good and have reduced my pain and increased my mobility. Sometime in the last two years I have damaged my pelvis and the pain and the lack of mobility have been distressing. The only painkiller that works, and then only if I’m feeling feverish, is paracetamol. In a way, I count myself lucky that I react badly to the heavy duty painkillers as I have friends who are addicted to them. At no time over the last 20 years has any health expert told me to wear a support belt, in fact, a physiotherapist warned me off them as they would weaken the muscles – since I could hardly walk at the time that seemed like the least of my worries!

Last week I decided to look on Amazon for a belt to hold a heat pad against my back when I’m out and about. The ActiveBak brace came up. I checked it out, read most of the customer comments and for the price felt that it was worth a try. It arrived two days early and I began wearing it three days ago. The first morning, I wore it for two hours and immediately had relief from the vertabra pressing down on to nerve roots – the belt seemed to lift the lower spine. After a while I found it quite tiring and took it off. Later in the afternoon, I resumed wearing it for several hours until going to bed and found that I had no pain at all when I got into bed and managed to sleep through until about 4.30 am when I woke and did have a twinge. (Anyone with back pain will know that a twinge is not a problem). The next day I wore it all day – the first two days I didn’t have to go out. Yesterday, I was out from 9 am until 2.30 pm and did not wear it and yet I managed to visit friends, do some work at church, shop and then travel home by overground train and bus. I did feel tired when I got in and put the belt on. Today, I am at home and wearing the belt.

The reason for not wearing the belt when I was outside yesterday is because it is rather bulky. As I’m a size 20/22 I bought the XL size but feel that a Large size might be better. Also, according to a couple of comments the belt can be worn at night and I will attempt that to see if it helps and this is where a larger size will probably be better than a size that fits snugly.

So far, the pain has reduced although my mobility is still not great but I am now able to do more exercises and walking, which was almost impossible when the back felt inflamed. I’m very happy with this belt and would recommend anyone with a lower back problem trying it out. I will try to update this review after about a month.
