Happy with this purchase, easy to assemble takes a bit of practice to use but soon picked it up ,just keep trying ,a little tip that helped me was wearing it around where the belly button is ,initially I had it high up around my waist and just couldn’t get the weight to spi
Well-built and easy to put apart.
Took me 30 seconds to set this up and have a go at it.
It’s not huge, so larger people may struggle to get this on them.
Makes a bit of noise when used too, not the best when you have kids sleeping etc.
This is a well made, robust and well designed device.
It is an excellent addition to your keep fit regime.
Having your own hoop ensures that yours is clean and covid 19 free.
Postpartum jelly belly dreams are made of these!!
Very daunting to start with but once you get going with it (outdoors or in a blooming large room) it’s very very addictive.
Follow the instructions otherwise you can get it rather wrong but it’s great fun with the spine bit going in and out and the weighted bit spinning around keeping up the momentum! – can’t wait to see results!!
Great competitive prices at 16.99.
Verdict:
Recommended.
I ordered this for my wife who is getting pretty long in the tooth and keeps wanting to try new things to loose weight and to try to become a little more fit and active.
On opening, this requires some assembly depending on the waist size of the user, my wife bless her needed all of the included ring components to be added in order for this to fit around her. These were a little awkward to fit but once I got used to fitting them it did become easier so it was more a learning curve than a hard thing to do. This whole device is made from a strong plastic and looks to be hard wearing. Along with the large ring comes a ball with a cord and a weight attached to it that it supposed to revolve around the ring instead of the traditional hula hoops where the ring itself spins around the body.
Our first problem was finding somewhere in out home with a large enough open space for the weight to swing round in without knocking anything off onto the floor and breaking. We eventually cleared an area in our lounge which just about did the job.
Now that this was ready to use, my wife fitted the ring around her waist which is done with the use of the built in clasp, she did find this hard to do herself so I did that up for her, I then sat back ready to see how well she coped with using this.
Leaning back in my recliner with a pint of beer in hand, I gave her some encouragement as she started by swinging the weight round to the side to get it moving, she then tried to swing her hips to keep some momentum, this is where it became pretty clear to me that she just wasn’t built for this apparatus. I hate to be rude about the old girl but she just looked so funny trying to swing the ball around the cage, it was something reminiscent of a hippo doing ballet, lol. I kept encouraging her for as long as I could before I finally broke into hysterics and she gave up followed by a well deserved slap around my face, lol.
I think these devices are made more for the young and maybe more shapely people that love to exercise and us oldies should leave them be.
That said, for those that are able to use a regular hula hoop, this would be a definite advantage as the ring around the body stays still, a ball then runs around the track built around the ring, this is pulled by the weight at the end of a cord, so by rights this should be able to be used by most people even if hips are not so defined as seem to be required for a normal hoop.
One problem other than the wife not being able to make it work, I noticed that the ball would catch parts of the track at the joints as it was moved round the ring so this might impair the user from being able to get an even and regular swing with it.
All in all for the price this could be a very energetic form of exercise and would tone a lot of different muscle groups.
ok, so assembly is fairly straight forward, and it is easliy adjustable to fit most sizes (it states in the blurb that it can accommodate up to 50″).
if you don’t take into account its facts and figures. you’ll be able to see differences, just don’t expect 800 calories burnt in half an hour.
as i see it the advantages of this item:
i. it doesn’t end up at your ankles after 10 seconds
ii. you do get positive calorie burning if you use it
iii. once used to it, it does become fairly enjoyable
the disadvantages:
i. you need quite a bit of space
i would recommend this to anyone. especially if you don’t have the body confidence to be able to go to the gym or such places.
The hula hop arrived neatly packed in its original packaging. Inside I found the main part of the hula hop and the extra pieces to adjust the size, mechanism with weighted ball.
Once you get the hula hoop loop fastened with the extra pieces for the first time , with positioning the hula hoop a bit below your waist line, it gets easier the next time. The fastening itself is quite easy.
The hula hoop fits around just below your waist. The ball attached to the hula hop works quite smoothly although after exercising inside the hula hop the mechanism leaves black dust.
This hula hop allows you to easily spin both ways – I am not able to do this with a classic hula hop.
Overall the hula hop is well made, although I recommend using it over a t-shirt or leggings.
In Half an hour of training I has burned 200 kcal. I wonder how hard I would have to hula hoop to burn 800 kcal in half an hour.
The hula hop is quite noisy so listening to music or watching TV is possible with headphones because the hula hop effectively drowns out both.
Overall the workout with this hula hop is quite fun.
I am more than happy to recommend this product.
I’ve never seen one of these before and was a bit bewildered when I opened the rather useful storage bag (with popper closure). There was a smallish ring that looked like joined up vertebrae, extra bits of “vertebrae, a strange bit with lift up black flippers and an even stranger teardrop shaped weight covered in silicon.
The instructions are pretty meagre. Or I’m pretty stupid. Just in case you’re as bewildered as I was I’ve shown each stage in the photos. That thing with black flippers is the “buckle” and you slide the weight attachment in there so the weight can swing freely around the circle once completed to your waist size.
Note: unclip the weight and reattach once it’s around your waist to avoid the thing coming to pieces due to the heaviness off the weight. Just clip it back on again once assembled.
Important note! Before trying out find yourself a massive clear space… I somehow managed to move my feet as well as my hips as I rotated the weight and frankly I’d have needed a gym sized room if I’d not had the sense to go outdoors.
It certainly does give you a workout and I like how wide it is because that makes it comfortable.
It’s easy enough to keep it going thanks to the spin of the weight – easier than an ordinary hula hoop.
The only grouch really is that the instructions aren’t very clear. Cross that hurdle and this is actually fun.
This hula hoop scares me! It is unlike a normal hula hoop, in that it fits a lot closer to your body, and has a weighted ball at the end. The idea is that you fit the hula hoop to your body, adding or removing the sections as necessary, and then you start the ball rolling around the inner tube of the hoop, keep swinging your hips to keep the ball going round and round.
That’s what scares me – what if the ball comes off and hits the TV? Or the ornament that great Aunt Joan left us in her will? Ooh-err!
So use it somewhere safe. It’s quite good fun, put some music on, and sway away. It does creak a bit as the ball goes round in the tube, so it’s quite noisy. But it has the advantage that it doesn’t keep falling down around your knees – I found it much easier to keep it going than a normal hula hoop.
If you want to add a bit of fun to your exercise routine, you should consider buying one of these!
I’d seen a lot of videos raving about these so I was really keen to try. I have to admit I was sceptical but I was SO wrong to be! I have never sweat so much in my life! Seriously, I believe they are revolutionary. It comes as one piece, with a couple of extra inserts if you need to make it bigger, a piece which closes it and a weight. It’s fairly simple to put together but it comes with instructions if you need help. You can also extend the length of the weight, so for beginners it’s best to have it as long as you can until you get the hang of it and then you can make it shorter. I’m a beginner so I looked up a few videos on the internet about how to get it going, and once I got the hang off it I couldn’t stop. I literally used it for half an hour none stop on the second day and I was sweating from head to toe. I haven’t used it long enough to be be able to say whether or not it tones the stomach but I believe just from the sheer amount of sweating I did this will definitely be a great aid for weight loss!
Weighted hula hoop. I have been lucky enough to both buy and test these in the past and each time they seem to get better and better. The manufacturer of this particular one has got it perfect! The quality is very durable and easy to stick together and adjust to your liking. It doesn’t dig in or hurt when in use and being the material it is can be wipes down between use too. Works really well and is very much an effortless way of burning those calories. Set at a fab price and arrived well packaged.
So I am a size 12 and I have three links left over I think this is meant to be worn tighter not super big like a hula hoop.
It is very plasticky but easy to assemble and get on and off.
It’s noisy and you need a fair bit of space, but if you get a rhythm going it’s quite a nice feeling.
It’s easy to use but overthink your movement and you will lose the momentum and have to restart.
Half an hour is a long time, what do you do with your hands!
I have to say I quite like it apart from the noise which totally scares the dog.
Really helpful thing to have at home.
Quite easy to use it and it’s do helps to lose some weight and make a nice shape of some body parts.
Helps also with lower back pains.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with the product.
And surely can recommend it to all.
Me and the wife gave this ago.
It is really simple and easy to use.
I found it easy to change the rings.
The only issue is it can be noisey when using it.
I think it’s really affordable and came with a storage bag to keep it in.
It’s a great way to keep fit and burn calories!
Fairly easy to assemble. You get some extra links so that you can make it a bit wider around the waist. The weighted bag slots into the track easy, and once you get the momentum, it moves very quickly. However it’s tricky to get used to. I would say if you’re a beginner, stick with it. Don’t get discouraged.
