    Me ha gustado:

    * Buena fabricacin y terminaciones.
    * El conjunto se ve resistente.

This rope is pretty good quality and a good value for sure. The carabiners aren’t great but I’m not going to use this one for climbing. The rope itself is well made and very durable. It works great for what I needed.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersOverall this is great option for anybody needing a spare length of rope to use now and then. What I will say is that right out of the box it’s not good for climbing. The rope itself is plenty strong, but like with most things, the weak link isn’t the main product. In this case it’s the carabiners and rope terminations that I just wouldn’t trust with my safety. One of the carabiners seems to be slightly bent to the point where the threaded clasp can’t fully lock the carabiner. Additionally the rope terminates in a very strange way, it’s just got some thread going through each side, sewing it together. It’s still plenty strong for most use cases, but seeing as how they billed this rope as “For Climbing”, it feels a little disingenuous.

Personally, I have no desire to go rock climbing or any other climbs that require a rope. I do however like to be prepared in case someone falls or slips down a steep surface. I had issues earlier this year where my dog when down a steep embankment into mud and couldn’t get back up, then my son slid down to help him up and got stuck as well… I wish I had this rope that day.

The rope has strong feeling carbiners on each end feels very sturdy over all. I have no doubt it would work well for climbing, or just as an emergency rope. It is not overly heavy and fits in the one of my long side pockets on my pack. I feel that much more prepared having this with me in case I need it, whether that be for assistance getting out of a steep area, or just holding up an emergency shelter in unexpected weather. It is also priced very reasonable at current listing price of 19.99. If i didn’t already own this item now, I would purchase one.

This is a good quality rope. I like the feel of it on my hands and it’s got very little give to it so it works well for static line use. I’m only using it for pulling up loads. It’s a strong rope that seems very durable and will last a long time with care. Never ever ever step on your ropes. Ever…

The rope itself is very good, not sure I’d trust my life to it climbing but for securing myself to a tree for cutting branches it is more than strong enough. I’d read the other reviews about the poor quality carabiners and they are absolutely right in that they feel cheap and the machined edges are sharp and could easily wear at the rope.

The ends are sewn well and are strong, I’ve tested the rope with my own carabiners and it easily holds my weight and a bit more with some big yanks as well. I use this every time now for securing myself at heights.

    Decent rope just bad clips.

Great ripe for securing gear hauling and slinging. The exterior weave feels high quality and abrasion resistant. The sewn eyes at both ends provide great utility, although the plastic thimbles come off a little cheap, but for the price are not bad at all. It’s a good length and should come in handy, keep it in my truck for lashing gear down. The carabiners are ok, but they seam a little unfinished with sharp corners. I also like that it comes with a light weight drawstring bag to keep it clean and damage free. Recommended for value and quality!

It is so versatile, it feels strong and sturdy and could easily hold my weight.

I am unsure of the safety of it as it doesn’t appear to be tested just by looking over the page.

Good thick rope. I swung it over a tree limb and yanked around on it and it swung back and forth awhile with my 220 lbs. A little stretch in it but that wont effect it’s ability to hold your weight.

Carabiners could be a better quality and the finish on them was a little rough.

But, for an emergency rope just to have if you ever come across that “If i only had a good rope” situation it’s a good buy. It will hold your weight and secure safely to a tree or bumper or whatever it needs to. I just wouldnt test it over and over again like you would a dedicated rappelling rope.

I am not the world’s greatest climber by any stretch of the imagination and that’s not the main reason for ordering this rope. Having said that I do think that this product is excellently made and is really really strong, ideal for climbing. Its finish and quality actually inspires you with confidence.

Because of the arrangement of a few rooms in our house there is a potential issue with getting out of some upstairs windows if a hasty retreat was required. Because of this I purchased an emergency rope ladder a while ago which cost about 70. Apart from the main use as a climbing rope the NORTHPADA is an excellent accompaniment to the ladder and would instill a lot of confidence if ever needed.

The construction of the rope is top notch throughout. The 10mm thick high strength rope has a woven polyester outer sleeve and a tough inner core. At each end the rope is looped through hefty steel carabiners and then VERY securely sewn and sleeved in a plastic/vinyl material. To prevent damage to the rope there are plastic sleeves where the rope meets the carabiners in order to reduce wear.

The carabiners used are probably the sturdiest I have ever seen and they have a locking threaded closing system. When opened to the maximum gap I measured the gap to be about 15mm. The rope itself is about 20mtrs long so it’s goin to be suitable for a vast range of applications where a tough rope is required.

When not at home and we are travelling or when camping this will be a very handy rope to have in the car and I think it represents good value at just under 23. There’s a nylon carry bag supplied with the rope so that you can keep it safe and stored neatly.

I'd trust my body weight with this rope with confidence. For the price it's top notch.

This is a good multipurpose rope which can be used for a variety of outdoor activities or tasks if needed. The quality of the Northpap 20 meter rope feels really strong and of good quality and can easily hold my weight. At each end of the rope are detachable stainless steel screw lock carabiners hooks if needed, these give me a bit of extra peace of mind that the clip gate doesn’t accidently open while in use.

  27. MadgeKingsley says:

When you buy a climbing rope, you are putting a lot of trust in something you can’t really test. That is why there are certification standards for climbing gear. The product description says these ropes are EN 892:2012+A1:2016 standard tested which is ‘Mountaineering equipment – Dynamic mountaineering ropes – Safety requirements and test methods’ The product also says it is a static rope, so strange to use a dynamic rope test standard. Now, the carabiners are also a little suspect. Climbing carabiners should be UiAA and/or CE rated. The standard for climbing carabiners is EN 12275:2013, generally not ASTM F1744-20. These have no rating stamp on the carabiners. Climbing carabiners also have an straight side across from the mouth. These are pear shaped. So, if you are going to use this rope for climbing, ditch the supplied carabiners. This seems fine for a utility rope, even for climbing utility, but too many questionable details to put my life on the line with it. The kernmantle seems reasonably sound from a visual inspectio

  28. ElliottMontanez says:

     United Kingdom

The rope itself looks to be of high quality I have been working with rope access for many year and would say visually this looks like something that would be provided to me for work. But the thing that lets everything down is the carabiners they have no rating on them they look and feel badly made with sharp edges. I would not use this set up for climbing and I also would not be allowed due to lack of certification.
I am going to be using this as an emergency tow rope on my boat.
You could invest in a couple of decent carabiners and then use this rope for what ever you intended to with a better feeling of safty.
I hope this review has helped you with your purchase.

I didn’t look closely at the thickness and thought I was ordering a much lighter-gauge paracord—as a hiker but not a climber, I mostly just wanted a longer camp clothesline.

This cord will certainly hold your heaviest, wettest gear with no problem! And then some—it’s plenty heavy duty for a wide range of camp tasks, from hauling food stores out of critter reach to suspending tarps or hammocks, tying down cargo, tying up a boat, or even as a winch strap or tow rope in a pinch.

As to whether you should trust your life to it, I’ll leave opinions on that to bona fide climbers!

First of all I am not using it for climbing ropes, but as a back garden or when camping. And I’m not a climber so can’t comment on whether it fits.
The quality of the rope is good, the weave is tight and firm, and the hook is thick. In gardens, it goes through branches, then loops around the main trunk a few times, and buckles back. It can be used to hang things or tie things. The safety rope head is treated with hemming, which can effectively reduce the friction between the lock and the rope.
Climbing ropes require a clear CE certification in the EU to circulate in the EU market, and I found this certification on the product and packaging.

    High Quality

Obviously you have to be really mindful and careful when using any kind of rope for outdoors activities and you are always best purchasing the right professional gear for the activity of choice.

This looks really good quality for the price , it looks very well made but I wouldn’t use it for climbing, as I’m not sure it is of professional quality although it looks pretty close and has excellent features.

The rope is good for me and my lads to have a practice on smaller cliffs ,we have an abandoned quarry close to where we live and this rope is ideal for scaling the limestone walls of the quarry as they are not too high but are a lot of fun and a good outdoor activity for the kids, this rope is good for practice but i wouldn’t use it at heights that is dangerous because I’m not sure if it has passed all the right regulations and is certified safe enough for climbing.

The quality does look really good though , I’m kind of impressed with how strong and well made it is for the current price of 22.

It has many other uses though so it could be a good budget purchase if you are looking for a good strong rope with solid , twist locking carabiner clips it could be a good option to consider.

A very well made rope, looks good value, strong and durable.

I was very surprised to see this quality 10mm x 20m climbing rope at a reasonable price. It comes complete with factory machined loops with plastic eyelets at each end. It also comes with a pair of 2 x crappy carabiners, so ditch those and do your rope a favour..

Let me just say that no climber would ever use heavyweight claw gate carabiners like these. They are designed with a sharp snap claw that will snag the nylon sheath on the rope and should be discarded immediately if you want your rope to remain undamaged. Get some proper climbing screw gate crabs, without the sharp interlocking claws on the gate and do away with these. (rant over)

The rope itself appears to be very well made with 50 strands of twisted nylon, tightly sheathed in a fine weave outer shell. Both ends are closed off in a well-stiched loop with eyelets fitted. When the rope is handled it feels tight, but flexible and allows just enough stretch, without thinning or deforming.

I would be comfortable using this rope in non-critical conditions, but just to reiterate, the carabiners are not suitable for use with a rope. This is not a material or strength thing, it’s that the interlocking claws on the gate is certain to snag the rope shell when you clip on. Just feel the ends of the gate where they interlock and you’ll know what I mean. 1 star off for providing poor-quality addons.

This is a nice rope, seems nicely put together. I tried going up a small bit of tree with it and it held my weight no problem, but then it’s rated for up to 1000kg.

However…. not knowing the brand myself, it comes down to trust… If you’re buying an emergency escape rope for one-off use, or if you’re wanting to use this for playing around with that’s one thing. But if you’re looking to go mountain climbing with it, that’s a different matter…

I am not a climber but everyone has a use for a decent rope. I would be confident to lash large items to my roof bars.

This is a braided rope with a decent thickness. It has am eye at each end with a carabiner. The carabiner has a safety toggle which can be locked to prevent accidental opening.
The rope has a reasonable drape and doesn’t kink.
I was able to tie effective knots including the go-to bowline, a knot which will not slip or jam.

It is not really suitable for decorative knots such as a monkey’s fist, nor can it be spliced.

It comes in a bag. Stowbags are a common way of storing rope on sailing ships — the rope is pushed into the bag rather than coiling it. Unfortunately the stiffness of the rope coupled with the small size of the bag does not allow this. This does not affect the rope quality so no stars are lost.

    Looks good, seems strong

He rope has a good length and bit of stretch for shocks. The carabiners have a good spin lock so that once snapped on they are locked and secure. They are stainless so are good and strong and can withstand shock to. The rope joints to the carabiners are solid to.

You get lots of length of rope enough for most tasks.

    Good rope recommended

I gave it a cursory test, it did hold my weight just fine. It’s a decent entry rope at a good price. I’ll put it to use climbing into canyons, and I think I can trust it pretty well.

Though it’s not something that’ll affect anything I use it for or my own rating of it, I did notice that the carabiner was not threaded on both parts of the metal, only on the foldaway part. It would feel safer if the threads engaged the main carabiner body, not just locking the foldaway into place.

Da braucht man evtl. gar keine Karabiner.

I got this with one thing in mind, replacing the rope on our lad’s tree swing, at 100kgs load it’s perfect and very well made with hard wearing plastic ends so perfect for the job, I have tested this with my own weight and I would be very confident to use this for climbing also, all in all, great value and good quality.

First let me make it clear that I have not tested this robe in a proper climbing environment anywhere but used it home for similar use and checked the quality, safety and material.

This robe 10 meters long is extremely fantastic and can hold very heavy weight, with all the safety locks and features in both sides. It is heavy weight as well but not sure if this is a positive or negative side to you, for me it was a good indication of the quality of the robe material.

We ordered this to use for a safely rope when working on the roof, boating and when climbing (we just do easy climbing as part of many hikes) and this is plenty strong enough for us.

This is also good to keep on your upper level in your home if ever a fire happened and you needed a way out via a window.

I really like the reinforced stitching and the plastic coated loops where the carabiners go through.

A good universal rope that is nice to have around for whatever needs arises and you need a very strong rope, we will also bring this when we travel in our RV.

    Strong rope with locking carabiners.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNot a life I’d bet my life on, but fine for light rigging application and as a utility rope. Two eyes, plastic protectors on either end, and relatively stiff.

A decent rope. I’m just not gonna bet my life on it.

Video shows the rope up close.

I got this for the “portable” sun sail shade. It has hooks at the ends which makes it easier to hook to the trees. Works great for my purposes.

Can’t really give it a much higher rating than to say I’d trust my life to this rope. At under twenty bucks it’s an extremely well made rope with near zero stretch and with two high end, locking, carabiners. My only complaint, and it’s minor, is that the thimbles are plastic. I’d prefer stainless steel but I can get by with the plastic. Highly recommended.
